Enjoyed our sandwiches- they made each sandwich fresh and by hand in front of you so the line can move slower. The sandwich had a nice amount of filling. It was warmed in a toaster oven. There are a few tables and a handful of high top seats at the counter.

Google
Major disappointment. The chili-Mac bowl was room temperature, barely warm. When I went back up, they didn’t have a way to heat it up. The banana shake was not a shake, it was more like flavored milk. The server obviously was not trained on how to make a milkshake. Basically it turned out to be a waste of money. I should have gone to Chili’s instead.

Keala is wonderful the morning Friday staff is always pleasant. The new hires and the old hires working together! Food was scorching hot and we had good laughs

Stacy Whitehead

Google
Line can get long. But you get through in 15 minutes or less. Veggie Melt excellent! Wasn’t dry, good flavor and toasted.

Thomas Dafinger

Google
Between two flights I ordered a Veggie Melt Sandwich and the taste was quite good in my opinion. Only the appearance of the sandwich was so so though. And in general I have to say that the whole shop looks a bit dingy, which could be improved from the management. However, I would eat the same sandwich again.

When I saw Potbelly I just knew I was in for a treat! Unfortunately I was in for the surprise of a lifetime!! I ordered a tuna sandwich for my young children and I to share. The sandwich tasted like they put all the salt in the sea in that one batch of tuna and then dried it out under the sun and served it to us. The sandwich was not edible. It was like eating straight salt. The worst sandwich I’ve ever had in my entire life!! A complete waste of money. Seeing that our plane took off and we were headed to a completely different state, I was unable to return our meal. This was supposed to be our dinner, but I ended up having to feed my children snack so they wouldn’t go hungry. What a total waste of money and time. Don’t even bother visiting this restaurant.

The staff at this shop worked very efficiently and put together the orders as quickly as possible, and the end product was well-made and the ingredients were nice and fresh. However, the customer service was perfunctory to the point of rudeness. I stood at the counter waiting to be served after the previous customer had given her order and went to wait for pick up, and I was not acknowledged in any way. When the staff did look my way, instead of greeting me, he merely looked at me expectantly. I gave my order, and he went to work without a word. I'm glad the staff works fast and efficiently, but to stand in front of a counter for five minutes or more without a "Please wait a moment" and to give my order without a "May I help you" and move on without a "thank you" is really poor service even considering this is fast food in an airport. People don't have to like their job, but at the same time, making it unpleasant for the customer means that customers will likely stay away in the future. And considering that Detroit is a major hub for Delta, I find it likely that there are many repeat visitors who will be taking a mental note of the poor service.

If I did nothing in Detroit other than eat at this Potbellies I would be satisfied. Every person on the staff was so friendly. I work in hospitality and I know you can’t fake that. From the person assembling the first part of the sandwich to the checkout cashier who gave me a free cookie on my birthday, this place does not disappoint . Smiling faces, great attitudes and great service. Thanks for the great bday lunch even though you were out of Wrecks!

Alka V.

Yelp
Stopped by the B gates at the airport for some sandwiches The person at the counter was not very helpful So we got one whole wheat and a normal flour sandwich The whole wheat person got the regular flour and the other person who doesn't like the taste of wheat got wheat bread The sandwiches were really dry and not too good I was there and will be traveling via this airport but definitely not coming here again

Yelp
Potbelly Sandwich Shop is a chain restaurant that specializes in sandwiches, and this particular location is inside the Detroit airport. Please see my attached photos for the menus in October 2024. No Potbelly restaurants are in my city, so I had not eaten their sandwiches in many years. When my husband and I saw this restaurant in the airport, we just had to buy their sandwiches. I ordered the avocado-turkey sub, and he ordered the Wreck sub, which contained turkey, ham, roast beef, salami, and swiss cheese. We thought that these two sandwiches were fresh and tasted good, not great. The employees' service was timely and polite. Some tables and seats were available.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I received quick and fast service at this airport Potbelly's. The service was friendly and my sandwich was tasty, although a little messy. I tried to redeem a free birthday cookie through the perks program on the app and was told that they are unable to honor the perks through the POS system at the airport. A little annoying as there are signs encouraging people to sign up, but I get it. The cashier gave me the cookie for free anyway.

James T.

Yelp
Poor quality sandwich , half cooked . Not fresh raw material n meats . Very disappointing !!

Caroline Y.

Yelp
Rude and bland food. I modified a sandwich to be vegetarian (which is literally advertised on the menu as an option) and the employee told me that was "weird" and made fun of me to her coworkers. It had like 4 other toppings... I just didn't want the turkey. Tables were dirty. Not impressed.

Brian J.

Yelp
Great Italian Subs! My go to spot for Italian subs if I can't make it to Vinnies and since Alcamos my favorite place closed!

Jose R.

Yelp
I was greeted and asked what I wanted. I asked if I could "make my own", but I was told that I had to pick one of the items on the menu without substitutes. Seriously? Is this owned by the infamous "Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld? Well, so was hungry, so I stayed and ordered the Roast Beef & Provolone. But, in a last ditch attempt to get what I actually wanted, I pleaded, "Is there any way that I can get Swiss cheese instead of provolone?" She rebuked my request and I had to settle for Provolone...at least that was what I thought. You see, the same "Sub Nazi" (no offense meaning, only being playful) came back and said they were all out of Roast Beef. "Do you want turkey or ham?" she asked. "Neither, I wanted Roast Beef and I don't allow for substitutes either," I replied, and then I left.

Rex K.

Yelp
Overpriced as is to be expected in an airport, but the customer service is painfully slow and unhelpful. There's no motivation to serve those standing in line waiting to order, nor any assistance or guidance to new customers not familiar with how to order. Unless you've got a couple of hours between connections, don't bother trying to get served here unless you then want indigestion from rushing your underwhelming sandwich.

Mei O.

Yelp
I love Potbelly's food. Love it. So why has this location earned one star? I stopped by and ordered my favorite sandwich, chicken salad with bacon, no toppings. I headed out of the airport to my car, salivating at the thought of my tasty sandwich at the end of a long day. As I pulled it out of the bag, I was a little confused....the sandwich was so thin....did they accidentally give me a wrap instead of a sandwich? No. No, they did not. They, instead, neglected to put any chicken salad on my chicken salad sandwich. I had just spent $11 plus dollars (you have to love airport prices) for a bag of chips, a soda, and a piece of bread with a slice of cheese and 2 pieces of bacon on it. How do you forget to put chicken salad on a CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH?

Bruce K.

Yelp
The B/C terminal at DTW needs some help. There sure aren't nearly as many food choices or shopping options as over at the big fancy A terminal. Sure, it's a short walk through the Trippy Tunnel but that's just too much like work. So while I watched my flight slip by 20 minutes and then another 20 minutes and then another 20 minutes, I popped to Potbelly and got a sandwich. The gal who took my sandwich order was friendly, the gal who topped my toasted sandwich was friendly and the gal who rang up my order was friendly. It was a smooth process with no more than the usual delays but it was organized. The sandwich itself was a little on the dry side, which was surprising considering that it was chicken and cheddar with brown mustard and vinegar on it, plus lettuce and tomato and onions. Not up to the usual Potbelly standard.

Bill B.

Yelp
I stopped in for a quick bite between flights. I had a sausage and egg sandwich and it was very good. The service was quick and the restaurant was modern and clean. My ticket before tip was $7.53.

Julian J.

Yelp
I got my regular Mediterranean on flatbread, paid, ate and left! I hadn't ever been to a Potbelly before, so I felt a bit clunky during the ordering process. I was happy that they serve warm, toasted sandwiches. The Mediterranean was a nice meatless option. They have a lot of salad choices, but they also have shakes available for those with a sweet tooth. I was hoping the experience would take longer. I feel like I have too much time to kill at the airport now!

Renee F.

Yelp
The service here stinks. I only stopped at Potbelly because I saw one of the flight captains stop there, so I figured he'd know what was good. NOPE. When I got in line, I was behind two other people. Instead of taking our orders or asking if we had any questions, the two ladies here were loudly carrying on a conversation while looking straight at those of us in line. The girl at the front of the line finally just walked off to find something else. Two minutes later.....I ordered a flatbread breakfast sandwich and an oatmeal with brown sugar. One lady made my sandwich and the other checked me out. I still hadn't received my oatmeal. The cashier asked if I needed anything and I said I still needed my oatmeal. She didn't say anything, just handed me a bowl of oatmeal. I paid. Then I asked if the brown sugar was in the oatmeal or if that came separate. Again, she didn't say anything, she just turned around and grabbed brown sugar. I walked away, and then realized she didn't even give me a spoon. So I turned around and asked for a spoon. Don't get me wrong, these ladies seemed like they would be nice ladies. But on this particular morning, they just seemed really complacent. I had to ask for my oatmeal twice, and then tediously ask for everything else that came with it. And they didn't have an attitude or anything, but they were also very unapologetic about it. Food was okay...would have been better off at Subway or Wendy's.

Rod W.

Yelp
Regular toasted Italian with everything and a Mt. Dew $9.42 Very fast Very good taste but the tomatoes were in sad shape Too bad, could have received 5 stars

Jaison C.

Yelp
Had a quick layover into the Detroit and on to my next location. If you are quickly flying through and need something quick, easy and good(typically those three words aren't described together) then Potbelly is for you. I was craving something vegetarian and this hit the spot. Potbelly is know for being a sandwich shop but also provides salads and smoothies. When walking in, it is a walk up style order and receive your food on the other end when you pay! I ordered the 1/2 and 1/2 option with The Mediterranean Sandwich and a Mediterranean salad. This comes with the option to add chicken and choice of bread between whole grain or white bread. Mediterranean comes with plenty artichoke, hummus, peppers, hot peppers (optional) feta cheese and the salad is very similar! Typically salads always come with over sodium dressing, not the case here! Has plenty of seating area for people with travel in smaller groups or by yourself ! Quick, well made quality food.

Alan G.

Yelp
Love me some Potbelly and my favorite sandwich is the Wreck! Service was ok but the sandwich was great. That's why I rated it 4 stars. The food was served quick. My order was made correctly. They would have got 5 stars if their service was better.

Bil M.

Yelp
I love Potbelly, but I can't stand this location. Five out of the last six times I've been here, I have stepped out of line with my sandwich toasted but not yet made. The employees seem like they're almost on vacation, because they obviously aren't here to work. Today when I stepped out of line, I was already there for 10 minutes and they had made exactly one sandwich. There were still six sandwiches out of the oven waiting for toppings. But they had more than enough time to chat with each other. At least it wasn't the lunch rush... oh, wait... yes it was. I went across the hall to Chili's and when I got my food, the same people were in line at Potbelly.

Jonathan P.

Yelp
For the price you can't beat it. You might not be able to beat it outright because of how tasty it is. I came here because the Subway was closed (even though it was two hours after when it was supposed to open). The sandwich they made me was WAY higher quality than the alternative and the customer service was very personable. I was bummed because my flight was canceled and the nice woman who rung me up offered me some kind words of encouragement. I'm definitely eating here from now on when I come through Detroit. Well done!

Allie C.

Yelp
Two stars only because the vegetables in my salad were fairly fresh, for airport veggies. 0 stars for the service. I interacted with 2 out of three employees. 1) the woman who took my order. Pleasant enough 2) the second employee (who was assembling sandwiches) loudly complained about not being able to take a break since there were customers. In front of said customers. While looking us dead in the eye. 3) the cashier, who asked what I ordered. At this point, I discovered my salad had been made incorrectly. When I told cashier (who made my salad), she said "oh." When I asked about the side I had ordered she said "yeah I didn't hear that part." Sooo...? Everyone makes mistakes but to do unapologetically is not acceptable. Potbelly, please hire people who work more efficiently, since airport passengers typically don't have time for a leisurely meal. And please don't employ rude people, who lack empathy and common courtesy. Okay? Thanks.

Amy C.

Yelp
This is the worst Potbelly's I've ever been to. Just because I want to purchase a sandwich does not give the staff a right to be rude and unkind. I asked for everything on my sandwich and low and behold the only toppings I receive are lettuce, tomato. Mayo and pickles.

Jordan B.

Yelp
Ok, so besides the fact that they blatantly advertise a potbelly, they close at 9pm I guess at the airport? I was just there at 9:20 and was told they were closed. Wtf? The staff is rude. They don't care about the quality of the product. Hey, good help is hard to find I guess. Just trying to be honest here. I frequent Detroit airport. Looks like a cool place, just consistently let down when I go here.

Gordon S.

Yelp
Had never had pot belly so I decided why not. For an airport location, this place did not seem very clean. Had I had more time I probably would have left without the sandwich. It was clear the workers were unenthusiastic...

Bob K.

Yelp
For all of you that fly through Detroit do not ever go to potbelly Sandwich Shop. They have the rudest employees that I have ever since in my life and the manager could give a rats ass. The girl made my sandwich with bread that she had torn almost in half then the cashier asked me 3 times what I had ordered after telling her I had to remind her that I bought 2 sandwiches not one. She then got pissed when I said I needed my receipt. Seems to me that these 2 employees by there unfriendly attitude and smile less faces think they are to good to work there. If I was the manager I would have fired them on the spot.

Alyse M.

Yelp
Just got a sandwich which was pretty good. But WORST most annoying music ever being played here.

Iris H.

Yelp
I was here a few months ago and I ordered a sandwich. Then I started to realize that everyone was getting their sandwich and passing me. So another lady asked about my sandwich, and the woman who took my order (who assembles the bread) said "Yes, I'm getting to hers." And then a few more people passed me, and she still wasn't making my sandwich. So I had to get the second lady to intervene again. They apologized, but the level of service was just ridiculously awful. I was probably passed by 10 people who ordered after me, and my sandwich wasn't complex. No substitutions, just one of the standard menu options.

Andy G.

Yelp
Not closed despite Yelp report. Solid sandwiches and inexpensive for airport food. Would recommend walking over A gates

Jason S.

Yelp
I love Potbelly's and was excited to discover that one had come to DET but I've been here twice and both service and quality are not on par with other Potbellys.

Grace F.

Yelp
Food is delicious -- however the customer service at this location was terrible. All of the staff was in the back, with one girl in the front for awhile. The lady was terribly rude to everyone who came across her. Her attitude was affecting the rest of the staff. I barely ever review... the experience was so bad I had to come on here

Martin L.

Yelp
Bacon egg and cheddar breakfast sandwich, fresh toasted, choose your veggies? Yes! Great sandwich under $5!

T S.

Yelp
Basically have breakfast here whenever I'm traveling through DTW. That will end today. Sadly a typical airport restaurant with unhappy and uninterested employees. Decent food though.. until today. Sandwich place ran out of spinach and lettuce. Received a poorly wrapped sandwich with piece of plastic wrap inside it. Looked like straw or toothpick wrapper. No scene. Just nicely walked up and asked them to remake it. Not even a bite taken out. Didn't expect professional response but not a rude one either. Anyway. Suggest you stay away.

Cori C.

Yelp
I must say I did walk by this sandwich shop because I usually only stick to the restaurants I know. But since there's not really a lot of food options in terminal B/C I ended up going back to review potbelly's menu. Once there I just decided to get breakfast because by this time I had been starving. I had been up since 3:30 and once 8 o'clock rolled around it was time for me to get something to eat. The lady that took my order was very pleasant and asked me if I wanted white or wheat before she proceeded with making my bacon, egg and cheddar sandwich. The lady who put on my toppings for me was very kind as well as the cashier. I was only in line for about 5-7 minutes which was not bad because there was a long line. They got me in and out quick which is something I like. Sometimes I am pretty skeptical about where I spend my money when it comes to food because I would hate to order from somewhere new and the food taste horrible (I had a bad experience like this before. Spent $21 on a meal and threw it right in the trash) Any who, when I took a bite into my sandwich it was nice and warm. Bacon, egg, and cheese was cooked perfectly. When I was done I wanted to get another one lol All in all I definitely will eat here again whenever I come back to Detroit's airport. Thanks PotBelly!

Sabrina V.

Yelp
Messed up my order (it was a bacon egg and cheese sandwich) and then tried to convince me what they made was pretty much the same thing. They made me feel like I was a burden but if I'm paying for something I should get what I want, right?! Customer service is nonexistent at this location.

Vince K.

Yelp
Just stopped in C concourse for breakfast. Good breakfast sandwich on flat bread and coffee is surprisingly very good. Love the lunch sandwiches and salads as well. Prices are very reasonable for airport. Must stop if in C concourse. NOT A CONCOURSE which is the main terminal.

Patrick S.

Yelp
Routinely out of basic ingredients, such as yogurt for smoothies, eggs for breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, etc., to the point that I can't reliably expect to be able to actually get something from the menu. I've not encountered this at any other airport Potbelly's, so I've just stopped going to this one.

Kyle S.

Yelp
If you are not currently fat but wish to be, or are fat and hope to stay that way, this is the place for you. The sandwiches are really good, really rich, and really big.

Nikki B.

Yelp
Concept is similar to a subway but with better and fresher ingredients. I got the toasted tuna flatbread with avocado and a few veggies. It was yummy! I was very pleased with my sandwich. Great spot to grab a sandwich, especially if you're on the run. Quick and good service.

Morgan C.

Yelp
Rudest employees. I watched multiple customers try to interact with the employees in a remotely positive way (including myself) and none of them showed any sign of humanity besides for the lady running the cash register. All other five employees working were mundane, silent, and apathetic. Very disappointed in my experience. The place looked like a mess too.

Scott U.

Yelp
Good sandwiches, but avoid the coffee. Super weak! I could see the bottom of my cup after I filled it.

Nikki G.

Yelp
Stopped in for a bite during a layover flight. Ordered the Mediterranean on flat bread, added chicken and extra artichokes and onions!!!! This hit the spot. The hummus on this sandwich brought all the ingredients together nicely. Topped it off with a Oreo milkshake!! Have to get this again.

Lee S.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. Workers move as slow as possible and act like typical minimum wage airport workers. Don't expect much. 20 mins in line for them to take care of the two customers in front of me and then to find out they got my sandwich wrong.

Ben M.

Yelp
Labor issues aside, for airport food this is very good quality and value. Not a ripoff.

Mercce B.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try potbelly for a while now, and this was my first time trying it. The food was good, but the customer service is terrible. They were being rude and can't even offer a bag to put your food in, I basically had to ask for one and they told me to just grab it & didn't even offer to put the food in the bag. They're fountain machine didn't have some of the drinks either. Not satisfied at all with the service

Jiaying R.

Yelp
As a frequent customer at Potbelly Sandwich, my experience at this location was absolutely TERRIBLE! Customer service is horrible. Line was not long at all when we got there. At least 4 staff members working there. Ordered a sandwich, a salad and a cup of chili. By the time we got to the checkout, the cashier charged us for all 3 items, after asking us 3 times what we ordered. And he checked the area where chili is at. Did not have the salad or chili ready and did not bother to ask another staff to make it until we asked him again. After we got the salad, still waiting on chili, another customer asked if they had chili, he checked again and said no. And we asked him why he charged us for the chili. He replied "I didn't charge you chili." We had to show him the receipt. And they didn't know how to put the charge back to the credit card. After not figuring it out we decided to ask for bottled water for compensation. We were given the water and LOTS OF ATTITUDE as we were walking out. Disappointed from one of my favorite fast food restaurants.

Bert C.

Yelp
Got stuck in the terminal with a little bit of time to kill, wanted something not too heavy so I came here. Figured a soup and sandwich would hit the spot and boy did it. Got a grilled chicken with cheddar. The person starting my order was polite and courteous as they asked what type of bread I wanted. The next individual greeted me with what type of toppings I wanted, picked tomatoes and mayo, but here is where I was blown away. The cashier. As they were ringing me up I asked for broccoli cheese soup, unbeknownst to me I should have said it at the first person. Then kindly informed me for my next visit but still got it for me with a smile. I want to thank them for dealing with my troublesome self and making my layover that much easier to bear. First time stopping in but you can bet it definitely won't be my last.

Val M.

Yelp
My 8:15pm flight was leaving from gate B10 McNamara terminal on 5/4/19. First time trying the place. The entire staff was rude and treated every single customer like second class citizens. Especially the girl making the sandwiches whispering derogatory comments under her breath. I almost contemplated walking away, but I was exhausted and hungry. There hardly any tuna on my sandwich. Even though I travel frequently. I will avoid this place because of the lack of customer service.

Chelsey C.

Yelp
It is posted on the Potbelly website that this location closes at 10pm. I arrive at 9:30pm excited for a quick dinner, and they are already closed. Unacceptable.

Eric R.

Yelp
This place is horrible! The music is way too loud and the staff aren't upbeat at all... They just stand there like zombies and stare at you. The food isn't freshly prepared for you either - it's bagged. My wife ordered a Mediterranean salad and it was mainly lettuce with hardly anything Italian about it... The sandwich I ordered was just plain bland... I couldn't even finish it! I don't recommend this shop to anyone.

Ashley H.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The wait for my sandwich was almost 15 minutes with 5 people behind the counter. And to top it off, they left off the chicken salad. Avoid this Potbelly's if possible!

Henry Z.

Yelp
Customer service here is non existent. There were at least 6 people standing around and 2 were asking each other who was gonna make my sandwich. They should fire them all and start over!
