Potosi Live

This was my first time going to this place. First off I want to start with the parking. I was skeptical because parking is a big deal for me. I was surprised to see how spacious the parking lot was. I was also surprised to see how courteous the customers were with spacing out their vehicles! Second, there was a concert going on so we decided to eat with some friends. Our server was amazing!!! She was on the ball on everything and when I say everything I mean everything! She even suggested to my friend on his dessert that he wanted to go that if he would like it not heated that way it's only heated up one time and not twice. That was impressive to me for her to think about us. Let me tell yall about the food! We started with chips and salsa. In Texas you can really tell about a restaurant by its chips and salsa. The salsa was bomb! It is a little on the spicy side but that's okay for me though. I'm saying this with so much heart because I'm such a picky person, I ordered the brisket sandwich with fries and ordered an extra side of potato salad. When I say I almost cried after I bit into the brisket sandwich I mean it! My compliments to the cook!!! The flavor was amazing!!! I even had to stop and savor it and sat there impressed and this was just a brisket sandwich! I cannot wait to go back and order other items! The brisket was so tender and did not have any hard parts and very little fat (which I don't like anyway) so I was so glad! The fries were seasoned and good but did need a little salt for my liking. The potato salad was good as well and that is hard to get right because not many restaurants can make even that taste right. My fiance got the jalapeño stuffed crab cheddar burger was fire!!! The jalapeño was spicy but not overbearing. It had a nice crunch to it and the flavor was on point!! My friend ordered the macaroni burger and he said it was amazing! Everything was amazing. Seating was great but the chairs are loud when you try to push them in for any of my special needs families just to let yall know. I noticed it every time the chairs slid loudly across the floor from customers. I notice things like that being a specials needs mom if I ever brought my children to eat here. I think our servers name was Amy I believe I really hope she gets a raise because she was on it the whole time!! She was attentive and just amazing! I cannot wait to go back to play pool and see the rest of this place!

Wife and I were amazed a small venue in Abilene could pull a big name like Rob Schinder. We loved the limited crowd because we could see the stage with no effort, it was very nice. The wait staff were all great, no one acted like they were bothered to provide service, they were all eager. The food was the perfect temp, tasty, and priced well. We will come back!!!

If I could give the service 0 stars I would have but I didn’t have a choice. We were here for a company party and the service was HORRIBLE. Whoever scheduled what seems to be the newest 3 on staff to work this party of 80 should be fired. Took 45 minutes to receive the 1st and only beer I got. Chicken fried steak was sub par. I would like to comment on the Oysters, but I’m still waiting on those. Was very surprised that there was not a Manager in site to make sure this went smooth.

We were in town for a wedding & this place was recommended. The food was fantastic & the prices are reasonable. The bartender waited on us. Very friendly, energetic, knowledgeable & fun. Highly recommended!

Our server was super friendly, great spot! The seafood was ok though. I probably wouldn’t get it again.

Not the best first impression service is slow drinks are slower would review the food but been here an hour and a half still haven’t received any. I’ll be headed to Wataburger shortly. My one beer was good.

Went there for the first time for dinner. Our server was super duper nice which made our experience went amazing. The food were delicious. Besides these dishes in pics we also ordered mac and cheese balls and shrimp cocktail for appetizers. Just one thing that we didnt aware of is shrimp cocktail is mexican style not classic shrimp cocktail that come with cocktail sauce.

The experience my family had at Potosi live was abysmal. I want to say I believe the waitstaff tried their best with the tools they are given but the management isn't giving them a lot to work with. We made reservations for a big top and they couldn't even provide us with enough silverware for the whole party. Mixed drinks were watered down and we honestly question if they had alcohol at all. Our food took ages and half of it was ice cold when we got it. We when informed them of the cold food, we were met with little understanding and a bit of an attitude from management. We were told they were just slammed, yet the venue was half full. It seemed there were about 2 waitresses who were trying to take care of every table. When the main manager finally came and talked to us, one of his "solutions" was to take away part of our servers tip which is truly unacceptable. All around bad experience. It's a shame because the venue has potential but is being run by incompetent management. Don't waste your time or money.

Wow the food is great . This place brings bands to perform ambiance is calm with a band itll be loud and busy , but it's great . I highly recommend the pork chop I tried the ranch burger, steak ,wings ,salmon banana pudding everything was great and freshly made . You won't be disappointed.

The best fried shrimp! We like to pick up and take out when we're nearby. I've not been to hear music but, looks like it'd be a fun time. Very large inside restaurant with good service.

Wonderful experience! Great food. The king crab was to die for!! Max and cheese balls were on point. It's a great atmosphere and fun for friends and family. The specials couldn't be beat.

The service was excellent! Kayla did a great job! Wish more servers were that good and attentive I had the blackened sampler. The salmon was a little dry but shrimp and catfish and veggies were delicious. Hubs had the fried catfish. I was very good as were the beans. Didn't care for the creamy, sweet potato salad. Like ours with mustard and dill pickles. I was very surprised at how good the prices were! This was our first time to visit but we will be back!

Food and service is excellent, price is very reasonable. Entertainment was enjoyable as well.

This place is awesome! Food was delicious and reasonably priced. I chose the Blackened Sampler which has Salmon, Catfish and thre or four shimp. They get some big country artists here as well.

Have been to Abilene quite a few times but dining choices are limited. Had all day to pick last nights dining spot, had a inkling for oysters of the half shell and Potosi had them on the menu. We arrived at 6:30pm, was told that there were no table available only bar top so we bellied up to the bar! The female bartender was wearing lots of hats and aprons! We ordered fresh and grilled oysters to start with! Both were excellent. The Blackened Salmon was okay, would of be better if it hadn't been so thin, Beans and French Fries were very good. I had the chicken fried steak with baked potato and grilled vegetables. Hats off to the grill master on the Vegetables! Poor little potato was loaded but DRY, my fault though because I didn't rectify the situation. The Chicken Fried steak was nice and hearty next time I will ask for more gravy. Can't wait to return for some more oysters!!!!!

Went to a private party. The atmosphere was great. The food was very good and a great selection of drinks. Service was very kind and helpful. Definitely recommend and will be back.

This place is a nice music venue. Glad that the area has a nice large music venue that should be able to draw some larger performances from time to time. The bar has decent beers on tap. The food however is just meh. Last time I got food there the "shrimp cocktail" was basically cold small salad shrimp in a glass of cocktail sauce with some saltine crackers. The "lobster Mac n cheese" that costs $6 is basically Kraft macaroni and cheese out of a box and a lump of some generic lobster meat. Not really mixed in there, it's one lump with Kraft Mac n cheese. Haven't tried too much else of the food so far. Would recommend for music shows. Wouldn't be your first choice for dinner though. There's plenty of parking space out back, maybe they should invite food trucks to use the space.

Seriously great. We loved it! Good food and great atmosphere! Almost doesn't feel like you're in Abilene more so a Fort Worth vibe to it. Can't wait to experience it during a live event.

Second time we've been here and it never fails to impress. Jennifer has been our server both times and she is nothing short of amazing. Oh, and the food is really, really good!!!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is wonderful. The service is very good and friendly. It is great for gathering.

Love the way it looked and the way it was set up walking in! The vibe was was so much fun and the live music was bad ass. All the food looked amazing. A great spot for a "Saturday night for the boy", take your significant other to or bring the whole family and have a great time. The service was great had positive energy and made u feel welcomed even walking in u r greeted with see the kitchen cooking all the food and they even welcomed us. little slow on getting refills but it was a pretty busy Friday night so not upset about it. Definitely will be returning next time We come into town.

Great food but music is way too loud. Do not sit near the speakers if you intend to have a conversation.

Server Annie was wonderful. Fried catfish was awful. It was about 10 fish nuggets that were 90% crunchy batter & 10% fish. It had no fish taste. Everyone around me was enjoying their other dishes (not catfish). Two of the pieces contained zero fish. I was starved and disappointed. Everyone around me enjoyed their non-fish meals and made a lot of yum sounds. .

Drum beat of music drowned out the music. Maybe loud drum beat makes people eat and drink more? Mahi-mahi was VERY tough. Never had mahi-mahi that tough before. Fried shrimp was good but not as good as Sam's Seafood but they were closed last time I went by. Everything was WAY TOO salty!!

So if you've been to one restaurant in Abilene, you've been to them all. The service staff walked around like they were all on speed. It was filled with melanin deficient individuals who don't have taste buds and who are content with greasy food and country music that tells tales about riding dirt roads with your memaw in the bed of your Ford while sipping on your key stone beer.

To start it off we made a reservation for our family of 5 at 3pm on a Sunday, the greeter sat us at a 4 person table and didn't offer an additional chair so we moved ourselves to a bigger table. For the first 40 mins we were the only people in the whole entire place. The waitress came and only brought 4 things of silverware even though there was 5 of us. She asked our children what they wanted to drink, they asked her what they offered and there was no response she just stared at them waiting for a response. We weren't given any menus when we arrived, we had to ask the waitress for them. My husband sat with an empty beer for almost 10 mins before she came to ask if he'd like another one. The waitress was more worried about playing/texting on her phone then taking care of us. We ordered our lunches and 3 of the 5 orders were wrong. I ordered a blue cheese burger and they brought out a regular cheeseburger. My husband ordered a chicken fried steak and the salt flavor was SO OVERPOWERING , that he couldn't finish it. THIS MAN CAN EAT, never picky and it made his stomach churn. Maybe if she focused more on taking care of her customers then her phone she wouldn't of gotten the order wrong. The food is ok, definitely have had better at other places. More training and less phone play could make this a 5 establishment. The customer should be more important than whatever you got going on with your cell phone!

Potosi Live was a SOLID 5 star experience. I'll explain later. They took the 4 of us to a table for 10. What? The second table was dirty. Third table we kept. Colby was our waiter. He was fantastic. Good job young man! Music started 5 minutes later. LOUD! We were the table in the far back of the room. We could barely hear each other talk. When the food came out, we were all impressed. Everything was delicious! I love a shrimp boil and they did a great job at a great price. I will definitely get it again. There was plenty of staff to keep everyone happy. We certainly enjoyed the live music, and will go back again for the dueling piano night. Now, why 4 stars? The music was just too loud. So loud that you could recognize the song, but not understand the lyrics. Just talking across the table was a pain. This is probably just fine later in the night, but not early evening. We had a great time and great food. We will definitely go back, but I'll check the calendar for nights with no live music. See ya!

BAR REVIEW MAY 22, 2021 Sat at the bar for 20 minutes with one female bartender passing me by 4 times without even an attempt to take my order. When I called out for her attention, she chastised me for interrupting. After another 5 minutes she took my order. I asked her to start a tab and she said we can't do that tnite. Fast forward 20 minutes, I came to the bar and stood for 15 minutes without anyone asking to take my order. I did get one bartenders attention and asked for a beer when she got a chance. She indicated she would get right to it. After another 15 minutes and no beer or anyone asking me to take my order or even acknowledging me, I left. Not good Potosi!!!

Came for work lunch. Started with stuffed jalepino and Mac n cheese balls, both were good. Then had a beer or 2, kind of disappointed in the choices, kind of thought they would have a wider selection. I had the brisket sandwich, a little dry needed a little more sauce, fries are good. Others had the A1 burger, 1 guy liked it as is the other said his needed more A1. Next I'll have to go for the music.

Lots of fun. From Cowboys games to live Music every weekend, this is the place! The concert series in the Summer are always fun too.

When we walked into this place it was rather cool looking. It is quite impressive. In where you eat there is a dj area where they control the music. Then they have a stage for performers at night. It then has an area for concerts. The food was just okay. My food had to be recooked again. And, the waitress overcharged on the bill.

Grabbed a quick lunch here today on the way to the doctors. They are only open Thursday through Saturday. My husband got the fried catfish and was very happy with his meal. I ordered the black and salmon and for my taste, it was a little bit too much seasoning on the salmon, so I only ate one of the two generous pieces. The hush puppies are rather bland, and could either use some sugar or some other pizzazz. The royal vegetables were a bit to seasoned also for my taste, but were good. House salad was just standard bag, lettuce, but with carrots and some cherry tomatoes added. They could stand cull lettuce. Overall good service & food.

It's a cool place. Food and drinks are okay. The music is very loud. Can't really socialize with anyone at your table

Love the venue itself- great space for large groups and live music, but the service is horrible! I have been to Potosi Live on a number of occasions, each time, hoping for a better experience! Last week, I waited 20 minutes for waters for the table, then another 45 just to have our drink order taken. Food comes out at random times. The drinks are hit or miss- guess it depends on the bartender. I ordered a chilton, which they put artificial lemon in- YUCK! The whole point of the drink is fresh lemon! My friends and family have decided enough is enough. We won't be giving them ANOTHER chance. Very sad.

Great food and drinks, live entertainment tons of fun. Always a good place to meet family and friends.

we had outstanding service from stokley, great time at the killer dueling pianos. Second time being at potosi live and both times had a great time. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great time

Here for a Pat Green concert, not allowed to leave the venue to check on babysitters and kids and be admitted back into the venue. Our home was less than 5 minutes away. Bad policy and rules by management, will not attend another event at this venue.

Went in with my family to have some crawfish and shrimp. The food was amazing!!! And the service was even better, Annie was great and helped us with any questions and brought everything out so fast! Totally recommend

We went on a Sunday because children eat free. Food was great, but our waitress needed a LOT more help. She was overwhelmed and scattered/ couldn't keep up. We will continue to go. Child loved the bounce house option on sundays!

Great atmosphere! Great service! They have good live entertainment! We went Thursday before Independence Day. They were pretty busy but our food came out quickly. Drinks were good 2XX were cold and Margaritas were good. I had fried fish and fries which were good. Fun atmosphere and a good time.

Ate lunch on a Wednesday food was great. I had a burger and hubby had Seafood both were great. Service was great too! We will return to try something else.

Great space. Definitely more of an event venue with food rather than a restaurant with entertainment. Not sure what it is like at lunch but for a dinner crowd before the band took the stage the piped music made conversation at the table really difficult, if not impossible. Service was good but it was obvious they were a bit short staffed which is par for the course right now. Food was decent but everything on the menu was overpriced by about $1.00 or so considering the size of the portions though there were plenty of fries. I'd say out of the six meals at the table the catfish and the chicken fried steak were the best. The grilled chicken sandwich, the brisket sandwich and the brisket burrito were on the small side. Brisket had good flavor but was a smidge dry. Not as good as when it was JoJo's Barbecue in this same location. That being said no one ordered the seafood specialties and the crawfish boil at the table next to us was huge. Verdict--make the drive from Abilene for the show on the schedule but not necessarily for the food.

I like that it was a very open environment during out visit. The food was delish...tried the fried shrimp, fries are really good, and the bun on the burger was very soft. Beware... the nachos are huge for one person! This place is a success. Tried it for lunch, then another day for dinner.

My husband and I recently went on a Friday afternoon. We ordered their popular Long Island ice tea which was Amazing!!! Then my husband ordered the crab stuffed jalapeños and he LOVED THEM! As for myself I came specifically for the CRAB BOIL ! We ordered it but our sweet server did not ask us for the heat flavor, which unfortunately we didn't realize until later. So we got our beautiful boil and it tasted amazing BUT it was so HOT couldn't breathe nor taste!!! LOL. I did not want to but, I politely asked to have a none heat version. I hate complaining but the original flavor was sooo Good I had to have it! The manager Donovan came over asked me what he could do to fix the problem. He not only fixed it but he comped the boil even though it was not their fault at all! I got the garlic butter boil and it is AMAZING! I will definitely be back!! Amazing food and amazing employees and management!

This place has great intentions; however, they fall short on Service and quality of food. They try to dazzle you with live music. If you go with friends you can't carry on a conversation. Their were four of us, 1/2 the dishes were wrong and we didn't receive our appetizers. Drinks were wrong, I feel it was a disaster. Then we we asked for the check, they attempted to charge us for the appetizers, we didn't receive. Don't waste your time !

Went here on a whim after my parents bought property nearby. It wasn't overly packed, and we walked straight in (with a reservation). Food was good, but wasn't amazing. Definitely room for improvement, but most of our party was satisfied. Two of us had fried shrimp and it was surprisingly great!! Wish there were more pieces, though. Tartar sauce was killer, but I asked for another and it came with way too much relish. Hoping it was just the end of the batch and they scraped it all in there. Two of us had chicken fried steak and it was subpar. Needed a bit more flavor. Chips and queso were great as well. One odd encounter was two of us ordered the house margarita. One of them came with a line and salt (duh) and the other came with an orange slice and no salt. They said they were the same, but they tasted different... not sure if the wrong drink was accidentally made or if the taste differs THAT much. The music was loud, but that's to be expected for the venue. It was, however, difficult to make out the words to songs, so possibly need some changes in acoustics? Nevertheless, a great trip and will definitely return.

The place is ok if you like music and drinking. It's just too far out of the way and the food is average. When leaving there were lots of people being pulled over to do sobriety checks.

Fun place! Awesome stage, very clean and service has been pretty good so far. The menu is decent, but limited. Great seafood options and what we have had so far has all been really good! Live music is hit and miss but still a fun experience.

Live music, good bar, great food, fun atmosphere. We especially enjoyed their Ranch fried egg burger. And they make a pretty mean old fashioned too! They have some talented bands playing too. It's one of our favorite places now.

Rude, very disappointed, never been so embarrassed or treated unfairly! Worst service!! Worst venue!!! So I've been suffering from postpartum & PTSD that I was so exited when I saw this comedy show coming close to town. I immediately purchased 10 tickets from StubWire for my family and friends. I hadn't been out in over a year since being hospitalized to a difficult pregnancy and really looked forward to this get together. Upon arrival there were cars being towed and we noticed a lot of security throughout the building. The hostess took us through the hallway entrance which has a steep inclined slope to it. I have a bad back and still have trouble walking up them since my surgery. I had to use the restroom but decide to wait and follow her around the bar and up the stairs to our table. I noticed that it was extremely crowded, the table seating looked nothing like it did on the diagram that showed round tables with spacious seating. We ended up sitting back to back in between the other two tables filled with people. The lady who checked us in said she was going to put my extra 2 seats from another table with ours which I was fine with until getting upstairs and seeing there was no room for 2 more seats at my table and my people past the middle of my table couldn't even see the stage because of how crowded it was with others in front of them. I really wanted to move to the other side which seemed empty. I placed an order for a drink and a salad. There appeared to be only one waiter for the entire upper balcony area so since it was taking long, I decided to go downstairs to use the restroom and smoke a cigarette before the show. I left my sister-in-law with my card to wait in the long line at the bar where there seemed to be only one bartender. I asked her to get me a shot and Heineken Zero and I went to smoke. While outside there was a lady upset that she'd been attacked in the restroom and she was explaining it to the security. I went inside and with my bad back going up the ramp and lightheaded from the cigarette since I usually don't smoke, I walked over to my sister-in-law. The manager Donavan walks up and takes my drinks to tell me I've had too much. I was so surprised, I didn't want to argue with him and just asked that I not be charged for it. I told him I wasn't drunk but he didn't want to listen. Next thing I know security comes to swarm me and are asking if I've been driving. My family comes to see what's going on and security it wanting to take me outside while the manager is saying he's going to have me arrest if I don't leave. I wasn't doing anything but trying to have a good time. Clearly people surrounding the bar had been drinking a lot but I seemed to be the only one that was discriminated on. This has caused me a lot of depression and I lost out on a lot of money that I invested in the show we were unable to watch. I'll never go back again. Also, I've been for the food before and it's not worth the drive. Stick to Abilene unless you want to risk being disappointed or even arrested. I'm still disputing charges I have from my bank that I never authorized.

Everytime I have been here the food is amazing! The staff is very courteous and professional! There is no other place that offers the variety of food and entertainment that Potosi Live does! Thank you!
