The family meal deal was amazing ! The chicken was Moist and flavorful . Spicy hummus and hot sauce just banging . Everything was made with such care, robust flavors and just a great balance of heat, salty, sweet and tang. The owner is hilarious and took time to make sure everyone got what they wanted . We showed up in a large group and he accommodated the low carb people, the vegans and picky eaters . I dare you try this place and dislike it

Google
Love their chicken and their salads are super fresh. Loving the customer service and vibes of this place. They helped me decide on a good salad for the fam and myself. Each thing we ate was delicious!

Google
Had take out after reading all the good reviews, and can confirm: the food is amazing! Chicken skin is so delicious, meat is tender and juicy, falafel were amazing, as well as the hummus and even the simple rice. Food is fresh, healthy and not full of sauce and fat like other places. We will definitely be back, it’s my new fav take-out 🍗 ❤️

Google
One of the best meals we have had! The food was made fresh and the owner was very friendly! It was so nice to have such an all around delicious meal and fun making a connection with the owner to my husband’s hometown! If we are ever back in the area we will certainly return and I could not recommend Poulet Du Jour enough!

Google
First time trying this restaurant out and me with a love for rotisserie chicken, Poulet didn't disappoint. The chicken was crispy, tender and juicy with a lot of flavor, the hummus and pita paired well with the chicken. Also make sure you try their Arabic salad it’s so refreshing. Another good point is the very friendly Palestinian owner who checks up on you. I can’t wait to be back for more chicken, it’s so good.

Google
Food was excellent chicken was so good and tasty, Baklava was amazing. THE atmosphere feels like you're at home. Will definitely be back.

Google
The most delicious Mediterranean food I've had in all of the United States and I've travelled alot! The restaurant is simple and clean, the food was 10/10. Initially I thought it was maybe french of something due to the name Poulet Du Jour which means Chicken of the Day, I didn't read any reviews and just went in there with my newphew as we are visiting from Australia. When I got the menu, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was Mediterranean and we ordered up big. The food was delicious. Now one thing to note. Like the Jerry Seinfeld Soup Chef. The food is amazing, keep focused on that.

Google
It's hard to tell you in words what the experience is like to take the first bite of this magnificent food. You open the door of this family owned and operated restaurant...and the smell hits your nose immediately! You have just entered another dimension of culinary artistry! Food at it's finest! The chicken stands on it's own. One smell...one bite and you are hooked! Perfectly seasoned and prepared..fall-off-the-bone tender. The "hot hummus" is silky smooth...the heat just starts as a tickle...then builds and builds...releasing maximum full flavor. This is truly so hard to do. It takes the total understanding of the "alchemy"...or "chemically" how to combine and balance ALL taste dimentions of the food, at-the-same-time...that's very rare! The best falafel's I have eaten this side of Australia. He makes them from scratch (soooo much work) but the end result...perfection! Nael...the owner chef, is a master at his craft. He "brags" he is fondly known in the neighborhood as "the chicken Nazi"...he takes it so seriously...and we reap the benefits. Perfection in EVERY bite! On my top 10 list!...with pleasure...

Yelp
Wow! I've been a resident of the SouthBay for around 10 years, and recently checked out this location. (A few friends have recommended it before). It is truly delicious, I have a feeling its one of those places that no matter what you order it will be a hit. I've ordered the Poulet au Rie Salad and it was so good, the crunchy pita chips add to the extra crunchy bite-- not to mention the Lemon Garlic Dressing, to die for. Just now ordered the 1/4 chicken with spicy hummus side and rice. Can't wait to try that. As a fit girly, this makes for some great healthy, protein-rich filled meals. YUM!

Yelp
Food is good. But at the end. We asked for a check. A different table gets theirs. But they couldn't be bothered to give us a check. Then some guy just guessed(?) the total... (I've never had that happen at a restaurant before) We were overcharged a few dollars extra. I guess the prices on the menu were wrong? It was all a bit of a mess...

Yelp
"Chicken of the Day" Hidden gem of south bay. Chicken was so juicy and hummus was very tasty and flavorful. The owner of the restaurant was friendly and tried to get to know us. Throughout the dining, I could see that he cares about every single customer and remembers a lot of them by their names. He takes pride in his food which is well deserved. The inside of the restaurant is cute with a nice bar sitting.

Yelp
The good: I chose to come here because my husband and I both love Mediterranean food and we didn't want to go to a fancy place with a toddler and baby. It was nice that this place had affordable food, a casual atmosphere and felt like a local favorite. I had the baklava, half chicken plate with 2 sides for $15 and the falafel plate. The falafel was the best I've ever had. It was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It tasted fresh. The chicken was moist and the garlic dip was delicious. The salad had a great acidic dressing that didn't shy away from the sour side. The owner is personable and treats you like he's known you forever. The baklava was crispy and wasn't overly drenched in honey or sugar water. The ambience is old school and outdated but in a hole-in-the-wall retro way. There's a bar area with 60s style swivel stools. The bad: There's no outdoor seating. The portion was a little on the small side especially if you devour falafels as fast as I did. Definitely, order more than one entree! The interesting: There's a small parking lot out in the back. There are random movie posters and art inside.

Yelp
A trip to Redondo Beach is incomplete without a taste of falafel! Family friendly, super quick and fast, yummy and delicious food. Came on a Wednesday midday for lunch with a group of five, and the food was so yummy. Food came out in ~15 minutes after ordering and the family who runs this restaurant are super kind. Great amount of tables for larger groups and small groups of any size. We ordered a falafel plate, 1/2 chicken, green salad, and rice. We used up all the items by making pita sandwiches using all of the ingredients and had 2 each w/ the amount of ingredients. Highly recommend dropping by! One of a kind place in the area and yummy food :)

Yelp
Came here close to closing hours and was greeted with great humor. Nael is the owner and was super hospitable. Brought my colleague here after work and being it was our first time, they gave us free falafel. I found this place after searching "Palestinian" on Yelp and am so so so happy I came here. Food: - we couldn't stop raving about how do juicy the chicken was - hummus reminds me of home, best in South Bay so far - super fresh, clean, and flavorful - garlic sauce and the tahini with falafel is on another level Service : - Very quickly I fell in love with all of the stuff from the owners to the chefs - Palestinian owned!! - fast and fresh food, amazing prices for the quality - felt like great neighborhood friends. I will be coming back as a usual!! I am extremely grateful for the 10/10 service they provided me. Hoping to use their catering service in the future as well.

Yelp
My official go to! If I don't feel like cooking, poulet du jour! If I want to meal prep, poulet du jour! If I want to eat healthy, poulet du jour! Their rotisserie chicken is phenomenal but my favorite is the poulet salad. I literally crave it on a weekly basis. Whether you want to have the food delivered, eat it there, or pick it up the quality never suffers! I have been eating here for over 5 years now and it's a house staple! Also, their service is over the top! Seriously, they are the best!

Yelp
I was told to try this place out. When I arrived the owner greeted us and was friendly and hilarious. Very helpful with helping us with with food options. Very chilled environment, nice tv to watch games. The owner told us their falafels were the best. For a sec I thought yeah right lol. But he wasn't lying at all. When I say you won't be disappointed they were truly amazing. The baked chicken was seasoned well with delicious hummus and good vegetables. Plenty of parking spaces in the back. Prices are friendly with great customer service. I love supporting family owned businesses. If you're ever in the South Bay please stop by and try this place.

Yelp
Best food in all of the South Bay!! This place is an absolute gem. Grew up going here and it's a must that I go get food from here every time I visit the South Bay.

Yelp
Best middle eastern food in all of LA. It cannot be beat. I love the people working there too.

Yelp
Amazing mom and pop with the best service and tameya (Egyptian word) /falafel that is better than my mom's (don't tell her). You can tell the owner, Nael, cares deeply about the community given he had conversations with everyone like they were his family with many regulars entering. He has the most authentic love and care for his guests in true SWANA fashion. Will come back for our yearly visit to my partners' paternal family and drink some Lebanese beer =)
google avatar

Carol W.

Yelp
Best falafel ever. You think you hate falafel? That it's all the same, gross and dry? That's because everyone (else) makes it from a dry packaged mix. THIS place...that I've been patronising for decades, when I lived in Hermosa, Redondo, and now in PV...makes it fresh, from scratch. You can tell because it's green inside. Moist, perfectly cooked, delicious. My 60-year-old husband, who's been a vegetarian since he was 15, won't eat it from anywhere else. I love their roast chicken. Their poulet au rie salad. Their smokey babaghanouj. Their PERFECT baklava (not too sweet, not too dry.) The grouchy owner. Sweet Marya in the kitchen. Just great food here, unpretentious and delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
I live off of 2nd St and I order Poulet pretty much every week. Love the family run business & everyone is super nice. My usual is the Poulet Au Rie which is a rotisserie chicken salad with iceberg lettuce, rice, and fried pita as croutons. (No cheese, usually comes with shredded mozzarella). The dressing is a lemon olive oil. AMAZING. The meal also comes with a side of pita bread. Don't forget to order some baklava with the meal. Sometimes the chicken is a little dry and sometimes there's not a lot of lemon in the dressing but hey, it happens. Still a 10/10 salad for sure. Worth coming to Hermosa to grab a salad and hitting the beach a couple blocks down.
google avatar

Roy R.

Yelp
Alright. I love Poulet du Jour. I love the owners, particularly the guy who takes the orders as if he's pissed off you've decided to come to his restaurant (but you know he secretly loves you for it). The food - I don't typically like falafel. Well, I never like falafel. Wouldn't think to order it ever. These are different, though. Perfect crispy exterior, super flavorful interior, and with the phenomenal hummus and baba ghanoush they make (probably the best in the South Bay - both!), it makes for a delicious treat. The chicken plates just hit the spot. Great chicken, great sides. You'll leave full, pleased, and not feeling like you have to sell stuff on Offer Up to later to make up for the outing. 9.2/10.

Kulzer D.

Yelp
Amazing food & Nile the owner is just good fun!!! Service? Oh no!!! You go get it yourself ...it's like being in Nile's home. Go for the food, stay for the fun, the laughs & the luuuuv!
google avatar

Jeremy R.

Yelp
The food was mediocre - the salad was bland, the chicken was overcooked, and the baba ganoush was oddly pasty.

Sara K.

Yelp
Food is amazing . Service is great . We had An amazing dinner at this restaurant . Very authentic middle eastern food .

Rachel R.

Yelp
We love this place! Delicious and healthy option for takeout. Highly recommend the rotisserie chicken and spicy hummus plate. Also, the Mediterranean potato salad is life changing.

Yelp
THE BEST Lebanese food in the South Bay. This place has been a favorite of mine for years and just realized I have never left a review. My go to is the vegetarian w/ chicken. Pulled rotisserie chicken over steamed vegetables, rice and vermicelli with a lemon/ olive oil dressing. So Good!!! Must try if you are in Hermosa Beach!!!
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
Best chicken in South Bay. Super friendly, always accommodating, consistent high quality
google avatar

Yelp
I live in Huntington Beach and I drive all the way over to this restaurant for my favorite salad. My husband and I are obsessed with it. So good. Wish they opened a restaurant here in the OC

Michelle B.

Yelp
Rarely do I ever have food that brings me as much happiness as they do here at this restaurant. If you have not tried their food, you are missing out. It is the best I have ever had so fresh and delicious !!
google avatar

karl K.

Yelp
True legit Mediterranean food. Oven baked chicken is to die for and way better than Costco. Enjoy the chicken salad
google avatar

Angela G.

Yelp
Go for the falafel and eat at least once at the restaurant so you can meet the owner who is vivacious, kind, and hilarious. There is no ambiance but the taste of the food makes up for it. The owner certainly knows how to pair his food with the right sauces. We loved our chicken and the hummus too! Very healthy and yummy meal! We will be back! Great for lunch or dinner! Family friendly.
google avatar

Emykat D.

Yelp
Don't just come here for the food , chicken is fresh , moist and delicious but they also have phenomenal salads and excellent vegan options . We mostly like the guy who runs a business, it's like a Seinfeld episode but with chicken. Unbelievable hardworking woman in the back doing it all . Somehow the food comes out hot , fresh and on time . Neighborhood favorite

Yelp
I suppose that if my server here (the owner?) hadn't announced prior to my ordering that this is, "the best Mediterranean in the South Bay" I might've added another star. But he set the bar very high for this place, and came up rather short of his claim. There were pluses and minuses. On the plus side, my Mediterranean Spinach Chicken Salad was tasty and filling in the good healthy way most Mediterranean fare is. Plenty of moist rotisserie chicken chunks, although I must note that the preparation was decidedly haphazard, and although I didn't read the menu for details, I had to wonder if it's intended to be cooked or just very-lightly sautéed. Also a nice plus was when I asked for ice water and received a generous cup of it (that was big enough to carry out 1/3 full after my meal). Since we are mostly water, that's one thing I notice wherever I eat. Also nice was no charge for the large cup of iced water with my meal. The total bill was well under $20, also not bad so nearby the beach. On the minus side, my server also spent about half of his time arguing on the telephone with someone, which didn't enhance my dining experience. Neither did the awkward familiarity of being asked if I'm local, and being verbally prepared for outstanding food (when somewhat lesser fare awaited). I think best to let the guests do the bragging (if any is appropriate). When the server saw my mostly-empty plate, he reviewed my eating... "Good job!" he said. "I was hungry," I replied. We could've discussed some long spinach stems and a bit of imperfect chicken that I didn't eat, but on balance, I scarfed up that salad, and it was very good (not the best in the South Bay, but admirable). Also, the view of PCH out the front windows was underwhelming, to say the least, and inside a few tables needed bussing (I arrived around 1:30 p.m.). I was the only customer until a known regular came in. I think the janky 'atmosphere' is why. Food: 4 stars; the rest: 2.5 stars. I doubt that I'll return. To learn what I consider the best Mediterranean in the South Bay, you can read my Yelp! reviews of some other places that I like here. But even I don't pretend to know it all, so there may well be better spots that I haven't visited yet.
google avatar

Emily V.

Yelp
I ADORE this little family owned spot off of PCH! The staff is super friendly, the service is quick and the food is delicious. Currently, they still are not offering dine in, but they are offering delivery and pick up; there is parking available in the back, so no need to struggle with street parking. We ordered the tzatziki, the fattoush salad, half chicken, rice and hummus. The tzatziki is amazing - lots of cucumber and super chunky (which I prefer). The chicken was tender and moist - *chefs kiss.* We also asked for extra pita and they graciously gave us a BUNCH. This place gives pretty large portions for the price point so all in all it's a solid spot. You can eat delicious, healthy food without breaking the bank - definitely will be coming back very soon!
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
Call your order in 25 mins ahead of time and get ready for the best rotisserie chicken in the South Bay. Rice & Hummus is perfect. Prices are fair. Owner rings you up at the register and actually cares. They give you a ton of pita and garlic sauce. Get a whole chicken it won't last long. Maybe get a second one for tomorrow.
google avatar

Alex N.

Yelp
I love Mediterranean food so I came here with my boyfriend. We got the rotisserie chicken, tabouleh salad, vegetables, and baba ghanoush with a side of pita bread and rice. So amazing, I will come here again. Service is extremely fast and the guy I think he is the owner is super nice and he is funny and I can already tell he is a genuine person! Thank you for cooking us authentic middle eastern dishes, it reminded me of my grandpas cooking! !!
google avatar

Rose P.

Yelp
If you are looking for authentic, delicious, affordable Persian/Arabic/Mediterranean food in the South Bay, this is for you. Not only is it doors down from Hermosa Saloon (they don't deliver so you have to get it; hence the only reason for 4 in lieu of 5 stars) but the food is YUMMY. I always get the chicken, pita, Arabic salad, cucumber with yogurt and spicy hummus. Drool worthy. Oh! You also can't eat it there (ever since Covid), but bring it back to your home (or to Hermosa Saloon) and don't forget the garlic paste and hot sauce!
google avatar

June L.

Yelp
Was sad to see that there wasn't any Zankou chicken locations in South Bay so I was so glad someone recommended this place to me. The best rotisserie chicken in town! This is a family own business which looks like it's been in town for a while. The chicken is always so juicy and their sides - hummus, salad are always a must. Tastes better in person but just as good when you order to go. Limited in the back with street parking in front.
google avatar

Rosy T.

Yelp
Local Mediterranean restaurant with the most lovely owners! Food is made fresh and the service is impeccable. Always a great spot to grab some fresh lunch!!

Jason C.

Yelp
Great food and staff. Was staying down the road and was convenient to go there and was not disappointed. Great flavor.

Allan C.

Yelp
Great Mediterranean food, personally I love the wraps. Also don't forget to grab some some hummus

Mary S.

Yelp
I recently ordered through Door Dash and there was a mix up in the order. One was a glitch on the DD site and one was just something they forgot at the restaurant. I talked to the owner and he was so nice and made no excuses. I was very impressed when he not only made a sincere apology but came out himself to deliver what was missing in my order. He even threw in a free baklava. So not only was and is the food delicious but they went above and beyond in service.
google avatar

Gary H.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my quarter chicken with the spicy coleslaw. You get a good sized portion and lots of slaw and sauces. They don't skimp on the pita bread which is great. The chicken has a great flavour and is super tender (almost falls off the bone and melts in the mouth) I would definitely go back to try some of their other goodies. Minor hiccup on the pick up. I got the notice my order was ready but had to wait a few minutes. Waaay better than having to wait and wait. As I said minor. Staff were friendly and lots of parking available out back.

S B.

Yelp
Never ever have we ever had such authentic mediterranean food. Having traveled throughout the mediterranean food cultures across the world for the most authentic, freshest food starts, stops & ends at POULET DU JOUR !!! Justin K.

Yelp
Wow. So much food, amazing chicken, amazing flavor, amazing everything. To all the South Bay peeps, GO HERE!!
google avatar

Jakai L.

Yelp
Rude rude rude sign as we were approaching the building to get some food we actually turned away and said forget it ABSOLUTELY NO DINING INSIDE WOW you could treat your potential customers better than this

Tara S.

Yelp
Love this place but they closed every time we want to go there. I wish they were open more often.

Kevin I.

Yelp
Chicken was juicy not dry like is mostly the case at other establishments. Well seasoned too.
google avatar

Ceez Z.

Yelp
It's ok. Had the chicken with hummus and rice. The chicken was charred and didn't have much flavor to it. The garlic sauce was watered down, the hummus was the consistency of peanut butter, and the rice was not good. Would probably not return. Staff was really nice though.
google avatar

Suna H.

Yelp
Poulet Du Jour is my family's favorite go-to restaurant for authentic Mediterranean food in the South Bay. Their food is fresh, delicious and they have many healthy options. Being middle eastern, it's not easy finding the best spots in LA that taste like home cooked food. We love their juicy chicken, falafel (so good & fresh!) and all of their sandwiches. My favorite sides are their hummus, potato salad and grape leaves. My top favorite salad is the Poulet Au Rie, a hearty salad that leaves you energized for the rest of the day. You can't go wrong with any order off their menu! The staff are hard working & always so kind to us, we really appreciate them!
google avatar

Nana T.

Yelp
Well we fell upon this place accidently and glad we made that mistake lol The chicken is really juicy!! Even breast was soft. The garlic sauce too... it was garlic... I mean GARLIC strong taste and I LOVED IT. Usually it is hint of garlic or mostly buttery cream but boy I felt the garlic. By the way, watch your step when you walk in it was little high so I tripped a bit lol. Definitely coming back soon!
google avatar

Mimi A.

Yelp
Everything served here is delicious. We have the Super Veggie Platter and Lentil dish as well as the Fatoush salad. The food is made with love. Great casual family-run place and a local treasure. We usually get it to go which is super easy. Plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant and there is a little cut thru walkway between bldgs. to get there.
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Everything is authentic. Highly recommend the falafel sandwich. It was so tastey!!!
google avatar

Gil M.

Yelp
The chicken here is unreal. The rotisserie recipe with the woody smoked taste is delicious. Straight

Yelp
The Food is Amazing, BUT the Owner is a obnoxious misogynist! During the pandemic, we ordered from this place numerous times and the food is always delicious! The last time I went in there, I asked the man who took my order when they might be going back to full service, dine-in - and he literally looked me in the eyes and said, "Who do you think you are? Someone special?" to which the lady behind the counter said, "Don't listen him, just ignore him!" He then started yelling and cursing up a storm, using horrible profanity at her, including dropping the F-Bomb several times!? I don't know if he was just having a bad day but he was absolutely obnoxious and rude! I asked that lady who he was and she said "the owner!" This place is good but not much better than Chicken Maison & it's worth making the drive over there to not have to deal with people like him! Unprofessional & Rude! =(

Yelp
Poulet du Jour is a lovely, friendly, neighborhood restaurant in Hermosa Beach that we highly recommend for a great meal and a fun dining experience. Every time we drove by this homey local restaurant on PCH and her most of beach, place was full of folks and we could see the owner walking around the tables. People were smiling and laughing, and it just looked like a wonderful neighborhood place to us. So since we were going to be spending about a week and her most of beach we decided that we were going to have to try Poulet du Jour, and are we ever glad that we did! :) The dining room is somewhat spare but the owners big personality fills the place with laughter and personality. Also, because it's Southern California, there are a lot of framed celebrity pictures on the walls, each signed with various accolades and ravings about the food. It's always fun to look at those. Chaka Khan ate here and loves it, so did the US national women's soccer team, featuring Abby Waumbach :) The specialty here is crispy seasoned rotisserie chicken and Mediterranean sides. The chicken is beautiful: crispy brown skin lightly seasoned, over deeply flavorful and juicy meat. I recommend the dark meat, but my daughter recommends the white breast meat, which was just as juicy as the chicken thigh -- which tells you that they know how to cook chicken here. So many places cook the thighs and the legs perfectly but in the process dry out the breasts. That does not happen here. Whatever piece of chicken you get, it's going to be tender, juicy, and flavorful. I ordered the 1/4 chicken plate, which comes with 2 sides. The owner recommended the hummus for one side and I ordered a green salad for my other side. The hummus was delicious obviously made fresh and with fresh lemon juice. Served with a generous amount of sliced pita bread, I scooped up every bit. The owner recommended his homemade falafel, so we ordered 6 pieces. They disappeared as soon as they were cool enough to eat. The flavor of fresh ground fava beans and fresh mint -- you can't duplicate that with inferior ingredients. This falafel was AMAZING. 5 outstanding neighborhood jewel stars
