17 Best Bars in Vancouver, From Tiki Bars to Supper Clubs | Condé Nast Traveler

"I regard Pourhouse as a forever-classy Gastown staple housed in a 1910 building that honors cocktail history and elevated pub classics—served at a 38-foot custom-built bar made from 120-year-old reclaimed Douglas fir. The kitchen turns out standout dishes like a possibly city-best Scotch egg (crispy outside, jammy inside, with spiced aioli) and a thick, juicy burger, while classic cocktails such as the Manhattan, Boulevardier, and martini are executed to perfection." - Sara Harowitz

VANCOUVER CITY GUIDE

"Embracing the sublime pleasure of drink, the joy of good food and the comfort of family – Pourhouse is the embodiment of a passion for sharing the simple indulgences of life with friends. Just southeast of the steam clock in Gastown, Pourhouse harkens back to century-old styles of drinking and dining. The 100-year-old building was built in 1910, as home to the Leckie Boot Company – the original structure crafted with Douglas fir ceilings, supported by large wood pillars, and brick walls. Pourhouse is furnished in antiques of the era – complemented by custom creations. Every piece in Pourhouse has a story. The cornerstone is the 38 ft. bar – lovingly handcrafted from 120 year-old planks of reclaimed Douglas fir. Entrance and hallway walls are finished with era-inspired textures and gold leaf detailing – no aesthetic left unconsidered."

The 24 Best Restaurants & Hotels In Vancouver - Vancouver - The Infatuation

"People who love bourbon are going to love Pourhouse and its classic Old Fashioned, but really all the cocktails here are top-notch. The Gastown neighborhood has the best bars and nightlife in Vancouver, and this spot is the best of the lot with several renditions of negronis, Manhattans, daiquiris, and martinis. There’s much more than just cocktails happening here though, as they have a great boozy brunch, daily Happy Hour that runs from 3-6pm and again from 10pm until close, and some great food. Go for the oozing Scotch egg encased in fennel sausage and crispy panko crumbs, charred king oyster mushrooms with pumpkin seed chimichurri and celeriac purée, and the baked-to-order hazelnut ganache-stuffed chocolate cookies that come with a side of whiskey cream milk punch." - Amber Gibson, Team Infatuation

Google
I often come to Gastown in search of good food, and usually I’m never disappointed — but this time was the exception. We were just looking for a quick bite before heading downtown to catch a musical. The food was… okay, nothing too exciting. The burger ranked somewhere between McDonald’s and A&W. Maybe this place is more about the drinks than the food. Either way, it did the job of filling us up!

Google
Some fantastic vibes, this place has got. The place has got some seriously well thought out decor and menus. It was a journey going through the menu and just looking around the place and the people. Oh and the smells! The cheeseburger randomly spawned at the table next to us and the aromas practically forced us to order one. The drinks were well made and came in fun glassware too!

Google
My husband and I had a fantastic evening here. The Cuban cocktails were top-notch, as was the Cuban sandwich (it had another name on the menu, but I can't remember it). I just have to thank the cameraman for his great service, and the chef and bartender; they did an excellent job. This is coming from a Cuban who loved spending a little time on her beautiful island. Also, thank you for the music. 🥰

Google
Came here for happy hour before a show. We decided to come here because of the good reviews, but was disappointed. We had: Single Smash Burgers ($10) -The phots that we saw, looked nothing like the ones we had. The one we had reminded me of a McDonald's cheeseburger, so I'm a bit confused as to someone saying it was the best burger they had. Although I'm not too sure if the happy hour burger may be completely different from the burger on their regular menu. Truffle Tots ($12) - Super cheesy and quite the Truffle taste on the cheese. Beef Tartare ($16) - This was not part of the happy hour menu, but it was worth a try for us. The beef was diced in bigger chunks, but rather bland.

Google
I went with my husband last night. He had the old fashioned and I had the old miller cocktail. We had creme brulee as well. Absolutely delicious. Very strong drinks. Friendly bartender- very chatty.

Google
Solid atmosphere, especially when they have live music! Great playlist otherwise. Food was good. Not out of this world but good takes on classic dishes and surprisingly cheap happy hour prices. Service was under average. No smiles, on the longer edge of wait times, charged extra for a few thin slices of bread. On top of that, the lowest tip option is at 18% on top of taxes. Let's just say the $30 dollar tip left a sour taste in our mouths.

Google
we came here very late, 40 mins before closing but they still let us stay for longer (even after it closed!) and service was still so patient and kind. the scotch egg was really phenomenal, ESPECIALLY the aioli it came with. it was slightly spicy, super tangy and salty and sweet and had a hint of paprika, and it was just so addicting. the pourhouse burger was also really great — a bit small for the price, but really high quality. the pork belly was crispy and crackling and had a smoky flavour, and the patty was so thick, tender, and juicy it was literally dripping. the caramelized onions were a bit cold though. i think the burger for per se social corner is better, but this was still fantastic. the truffle potato tots are a MUST get here — they’re super crispy and dense with potato (not airy) and you actually get quite a lot for a side. the apple crumble was very disappointing though. it wasn’t very “crumble”, and mostly just apples. the ice cream melted fast and i honestly didn’t love it.

Google
It's always a great experience. Best place for a late night dinner. Fabulous cocktails and attentive service.

Yelp
Ambiance: vibey with live music for a Sunday night Drink: Amaro Long Island ice tea - tasty with an after taste I can't quite put my finger on but overall pretty good and doesn't taste like a Saturday night binge Food: steak frites - got the steak medium rare, came out perfectly. The fries were amazing and abundant--couldn't finish them all in one sitting. Tried both the au jus sauce and peppercorn sauce and they were okay with the steak but overall I preferred the simple taste of the steak alone. The coarse salt on top was the only touch it needed Overall amazing meal and experience. Will definitely be back

Yelp
We came in on a Friday night without reservations, and ended up getting a table right away. Great location in the Gastown neighborhood. The vibes here are exactly what I would expect from a Vancouver restaurant, dark and moody but comfortable and slightly upscale. We ordered cocktails and Bulls in a Blanket appetizer, which were delicious! The everything bagel seasoning and wagyu hotdog were a great combo. For dinner, I had the steak frites. Steak was cooked perfectly to order, and fries were crisp and seasoned well. Overall, a wonderful experience!

Yelp
Service was a bit slow. It took about 8 minutes from the time we sat down until someone came over with water and to greet us. The food was delicious. I do wish the burger patty on the happy hour smash burger was a bit bigger to cover the entire surface of the bun but for $10 it wasn't a bad deal. The truffle tater tots were the highlight of the meal though! We sat outside on their patio which overlooks the gastown steam clock and got to watch it go off. It's also dog friendly. The inside wasn't busy either which was surprising given it was a Saturday, happy hour and there were 3 cruise ships in the terminal. Overall, I will be back to try more items and also for those truffle tater tots.

Yelp
I have loved Pourhouse for a long time, but as of late they're definitely not the same anymore. Their burgers are still great, especially the Pourhouse burger. The pork belly and whole grain mustard are a great touch, with a hefty pickle on the side for pickle-lovers like myself. However, the other menu items are not as remarkable. I ordered the fish and chips and it was probably the only time in my life I was served a fried fish on the dark side of brown--and it tasted like it too. The portobello burger that my vegetarian mother ordered, while I appreciate its inclusion to the menu for vegetarians, was also off the mark. I think the original allure of the restaurant for its upscale burger/pub vibe is a beautiful concept, but it's not executed as cleanly as I'd like.

Yelp
Stopped by Pourhouse while exploring Gastown. We stopped in at happy hour, ordered some wine and scotch eggs. Everything was great - service, food, and drinks! I'd definitely go back to try more food.

Yelp
What a wonderful place for a special dinner. We were wandering around Gastown and luckily stumbled upon this place right next to the parking garage we were in. We were quickly seated at a quiet table in the bar. The cocktail menu is amazing - so many choices to pick from, and you really can't go wrong. Everyone was ordering the huge plate of olives so we had to. I love olives and these were buttery and not super salty. The burrata appetizer was fresh and delicious. And since it was our anniversary we splurged and got the tomahawk to share. It was perfectly done, with compound butter, sprouts and broccolini on the side. Definitely recommend for a nice night out. The next time we will come for the burger and tots everyone was raving about!

Yelp
We came here for their famous cocktails and the scotch egg. We taste Sazerac, Old Cuban, New York Sour, and Ashton Lane. Overall a nice place to spend time in, but a bit pricy. Do not forget you come here for good quality cocktails. Food: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Price: 4/5

Yelp
Clearly a Gastown fave, Pourhouse is a mostly successful mix of sophisticated cocktail bar and gastropub. The ambiance is pleasant and down-home. Some nights they offer live music. Featuring some high end drinks with both exotic and unusual ingredients, expertly mixed and attractively served, this establishment might very well serve as a spot to either begin or finish one's night. If you stick around for more, however, Pourhouse serves a variety of higher end pub food. Burgers using high-end cuts of beef, lobster mac and cheese, tater tots with truffle salsa--it's an unpretentious menu with a pretentious twist. But they make it work and most of the dishes I have tried are very good indeed. Of course, all this comes at a pretty hefty price. Expect to drop around C$100 a person for a couple of drinks and a meal. If that doesn't faze you, then by all means, come for a meal with friends and enjoy a good drink and hearty, gussied up grub.

Yelp
Great happy hour in gastown! Cocktails are solid here - I got the gimlet and my friend got the Tom Collins. Both taste great. For food, we shared the truffle tater tots and the fried chicken. The tots have a great crunch and the sauce is tasty. Fried chicken came out nice and hot. Love the honey butter. Wish there were a pickle for each piece of chicken but the pickled onions added a great element too. Lastly, we got a smash burger each and it was solid. Came a little cold though - but sauce and taste was there.

Yelp
We had a terrific dinner at Pourhouse. Sometimes you never know how it will go in the touristy part of town. But we were not disappointed. The place seemed to be already hopping at 5:45. Since it was still happy hour, we got a round of drinks and some Scotch eggs. The eggs were super tasty! For dinner, our group got the Pourhouse burger, fish and chips, the bison blueberry sausage, and a steak salad. I really enjoyed my steak salad. The marinade mushrooms added an additional dimension to the salad. These weren't the little tart button mushrooms. They were sliced bigger mushrooms and maybe marinaded inhouse? They had flavor beyond vinegary. The steak was perfectly cooked, too. So good. Everyone enjoyed their food immensely. The service was just attentive enough. We liked sitting near the window and being able to watch folks going by and the steam clock across the street.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday, and it turned out to be a horrible experience. The service was extremely slow--it took 20 minutes just to get our drinks and another 20 minutes for our food to arrive. Unfortunately, the fish was undercooked, and my friend got sick because of it. To make matters worse, the manager didn't even allow the staff to sing "Happy Birthday," which really put a damper on our celebration. Overall, it was a terrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a special occasion.

Yelp
I was knocking around Gastown looking for an old school dive bar/bistro and I discovered this Diamond amid the sand instead. It's a classic brick and mortar/rich hardwood and old fashioned vibe fused with updated menu items, a good selection of local draft beer and the cocktails your grandfather (my dad) raved about. After viewing the classic cocktail menu, I settled on a gimlet in honor of my mom, It was always her favorite. Ratios just right and shaken to perfection, she would be pleased. I ordered the "burger and beer" special without really looking at the description, I figured burger, beer done. The beer was a short pull (10oz) sour larger (of which I am not normally a fan) and the burger had cheese, some type of mild blue, Stilton? Gorgonzola? Whichever it was paired PERFECTLY with the sour beer! So, if you want cocktails straight from the 40's, are a cool foodie, an outright gourmand or just want to see what I'm fussing about, this is the place for you. (Did I mention they also have pâté, tartare & a cassoulet?)

Yelp
Love this place! Was on a trip to Vancouver and exploring the neighborhood one day. Walked by this place a few times and thought it looked interesting. Decided to go in for a drink & snack. My friend and I had never had Scotch eggs so we decided to give it a try. Now I haven't had another scotch egg to compare this to but I'm confident to say these are the best! They use fennel sausage, which makes the flavor really pop. We loved this place so much we came back before we left Vancouver to go home. That time we had burgers & poutine - also very good. Staff is very friendly, decor is super cute (old timey style), we loved sitting at the window tables to take in the neighborhood scene while we ate. My only wish was that they had a slightly more versatile menu. But if you're in the mood for burgers & comfort snacks, this is the place!

Yelp
The service was incredible, food and drinks were perfect. For tired weary travelers we were so happy to stumble in. Can't wait to return the next time we're in Vancouver.

Yelp
The full bar and the moustached gent tendering it make David Copperfield look like a noob. This Mario-Looking-Bar-Boss was the absolute bomb. Not only he knew what he was doing, but also did it diligently, patiently and, I have no idea how he didn't murder the lad at my right. I requested two variations of Jack and Coke. They didn't have Jack Daniel's so I went with LOT 40 first and then Pike Creek. After the fact, I asked for a Fernet Branca - now, there are two kinds that you can have and the most common one in North America is the Mint one which sucks, unlike the original. They had both. In Vancouver. In bloody Canada. WHAT? Also, I tried the Mac & Cheese - which is not on the menu anymore as a stand-alone item. Creamy and warm, had breadcrumbs and everything nice and savoury. The Pourhouse Burger was incredibly tender, sweet and savoury, balanced, and the combination of flavours reminded you of that barbecue sauce that you had at a Burger joint in America, but without the tanginess. The fries were okay, I reckon with truffle oil. Dry, crunchy and salty. Top class. The only issue was that the lad right next to me would not stop talking, but that's not the pub's fault. Lol. Leave that bartender a big tip. 10/10.

Yelp
Shocked to find our FAVORITE COCKTAIL "the last word" on the menu!! The scotch eggs were fabulous. We will likely swing back tomorrow morning for "breakfast" aka Scotch Eggs round 2! We had happy hour tots and smash burgers, couldn't be more satisfied. Great service! Great food!
google avatar

Yelp
Great cocktails. Large whiskey/bourbon list. Small food menu but you go for the drinks. Cozy atmosphere that lends itself to conversation and not watching a tv on the wall. Friendly servers that know their business.

Yelp
Food was excellent, had Scotch Eggs and Pourhouse burger. Service was Inconsistent, Great and Poor. Atmosphere was nice, comfortable.

Yelp
Such a wonderful looking place! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing for night out with the girls. The food is a must try. We tried the smash burger, which was very delicious. Make sure you leave room for the dessert and try out their cookies, fresh out of the oven. Wonderful service.

Yelp
Def a very vibey spot for some delicious, elevated bar eats and live music. Check out their schedule on their website to see who's playing. We came in on a night with a jazz trio and enjoyed the music as we sipped on some cocktails and enjoyed a scotch egg and burger. The scotch egg was cooked to absolute perfection and is definitely a must here. The burger was also a big surprise. It was soo juicy and delicious!

Yelp
Service was decent and server was friendly. Great feel of history to the place and the food was good. Fried Chicken and Caviar was quite a good pairing and order a glass of champagne to accompany . Beef tartare was very good as well. Oysters were ok.

Yelp
Got here to try the: - The pourhouse burger ($23): the 7oz dry-aged beef, confit pork belly, aged cheddar, caramelized onion, grainy mustard mayo, potato bun was actually really good though. I think it is its special. It was very flavourful and sublime how one taste connectes with one another. The bad thing is just it doesnt come with a side so it is pretty expensive. (4/5) - Beef Tartare ($19): the brant Lake Waguy, gherkin, mustard, shallot, quail egg, capers, chippers was pretty good as the salty chips got neautralised by the beef tartare so it complements each other. (4/5) - Scotch Egg ($12): the fennel sausage, soft hen's egg, panko, spicy mayo was really good too. People come here for this. (4/5) - Truffle Tots ($12): the tater tots, truffle salsa, grana padano was just okay. It was not really that special so i wouldnt recommend this. (3/5) Didnt have the chance to try the dessert but everythiny was pretty good and pretty recommended to be part of the family of ask for luigi. Cheers!

Yelp
A gentleman's bar for sure, perfect aesthetic for a good chat meeting friends or clients. The burgers were really good, but the show stealer is those truffle tots.

Yelp
I hadn't been to Pourhouse since 2018-19. I had always thoroughly enjoyed their Happy Hour - but especially the Pourhouse burger and fries and Scotch Egg. I have also enjoyed their creme brûlée for dessert. I went in the early evening today for Happy Hour with my teenage son. I was hoping to introduce him to a really good burger. I was so disappointed. The young woman serving us was great - no complaints there. I noted the Happy Hour burger listed was a "Smashburger" for $9. It no longer came with fries, but these had to be ordered on the side for $7. We also shared a Scotch Egg and the Fried Chicken. The Scotch Egg was hood. It was a perfectly cooked egg (soft, but not runny) and flavourful sausage. The buttermilk chicken was a tad dry and I found the coating a little tough - but it was okay. My "Happy Hour" beer was served in a smaller glass - it was 10 Oz at best. No deals there. The smash burger was meh - it was tasty - but something akin to a White Spot burger. The pork belly (added for $4 each burger) wasn't as flavourful as I remember. The Happy Hour used to serve the thick and juicy "Pourhouse Burger" - the smash burger is no comparison. The side of fries used to be hot and crisp - the ones served us this evening were limp. I ordered a coffee to go with our creme brûlée - it came tepid at best and was weak. I sent it back. The male wait staff looked a little annoyed, but agreed to make it anew. The creme brûlée was completely devoid of vanilla taste - it was good consistency and sweet - but no vanilla. I didn't see any vanilla bean evidence either. I mentioned this to the male waiter - who shrugged and said "we are using the same recipe as before). I ended up asking him to cancel the coffee (which wasn't ready and would be around four more minutes as I usually like to enjoy my coffee WITH my dessert. The bill came to $80. The make waiter seemed proud of himself for removing the coffee from the bill (Um - bravo - it was like warm dishwater and I sent it back). He still charged full price for the poorly done creme brûlée. I left a tip as I thought the female server was lovely. I will not be returning and feel sad that such an enjoyable place has gone so far downhill. (Note: I do no have Covid and could taste everything else I had - including the nuances in my beer - so my sense of taste is not Covid effected - this was just poorly executed food).

Yelp
This is an interesting restaurant. So if you want to make a reservation here, you need to book online. For Friday, Saturday and Sunday reservation there is a booking fee of $15 but they will refund it when you arrive. We came here during Happy Hour and we ordered several appies to share amongst us. We got: Fried Chicken Truffle Tots Poutine Onion Dip Food was pretty tasty. I really liked the atmosphere. It was definitely a great place to have a conversation. Parking can be costly if dining in Gastown.

Yelp
We stopped here while on a foodie tour. The dish here was a Scotch egg. OMGee you gotta try this! It is so different and super delicious! It is a soft hen's egg layered with fennel sausage, panko and spicy mayo. Delish!!

Yelp
Best burger I've had was at pourhouse hands down!! Fries were delicious also.... Thank you for showing me what a good burger is like. Juicy, full of flavor, a bite of happiness I will be telling all of my friends about this place.

Yelp
I haven't been to the Pourhouse in quite sometime and really wasn't sure what to expect with COVID, but honestly, I was very impressed. In a covid world were tacky plastic dividers are often found hanging in between you and the other guests, well none of that business at Pourhouse. The class that Pourhouse is known for is absolutely maintained. Actually, the covid updates make the ambiance feel more cozy; felt very safe too!! I didn't eat anything so I can't comment on the food. I did indulge in adult beverages because its the Pourhouse, pour them drinks! Bartender was spot on and helped me pick out a tasty Mezcal to taste. Very yummy!! Then we asked the bartender to craft us margaritas with Mezcal, something spicy and earthy. He rawked it!! Pourhouse will always be a favorite place of mine when you want a cocktail done right!! Getcha covid cocktails with class!!

Brett R.

Yelp
Terrible experience! I ask for an Anejo tequila from a particular brand, the bartender told me they didn't have it, so the bartender recommended an Anejo from another brand I trusted the bartender's recommendation. After one drink, I asked for my bill, they changed me $58 for the recommended Anejo. The original Anejo I asked for was 1/2 the price of the "recommended". Not cool, never going back. No bueno!!!

Yelp
Chic and trendy spot in Gastown! Excellent happy hour with great food. Cocktails are on the expensive side $15-$20 but totally worth it because they are craft cocktails with excellent ingredients. Save a few bucks at happy hour. I came on a Saturday late afternoon without a reservation and just sat at the bar. Would love to come back for dining room service! Great service in the bar!!

Yelp
Stopped by for late lunch. Nice atmosphere. Kinda feels like British/Irish pub with the dark woods and solid old world feel. Service was excellent!! Tried the poorhouse burger with a slice of foie gras and a side of truffle tater tots. Solid burger. The small piece of pork belly could have been rendered a bit more, as the fat was quite chewy. The foie gras, while a nice addition was quite small (for the price) and was kinda cold on the middle. The tater tots, while oily (expected as they are fried) were pretty good. Nice truffle aioli on the side.

Yelp
The Porte Bella mushroom burger was delicious! I knew people spoke highly of their burgers and I was hesitant to get a veggie burger but I'm so glad I did! The burger was tasty with a little crunch for the crispy mushroom. The burger was substantial so it was satisfying without over feeding me. We also got the sides to share. I like the poutine, onion rings, and tater tots. I would not recommend the broccoli and popcorn. We were here for a send off for a coworker, the cocktail can definitely add up but we had a good time.

S. K.

Yelp
Apps and drinks were excellent. The Caesar salad was disappointing, with a watery and nearly tasteless dressing. Entree burgers were nothing special, not worth the price without a side. Loved the ambience, the interior design, the live band, and the bread that came with our charcuterie board. We would come back but not for a meal. The hostess was great, very informative. Our server had a few too many tables assigned to be as attentive as we'd have liked. Half of our party were served their entrees several minutes before the other half.

Yelp
3pm, empty bar and restaurant. "There's a waitlist and it's a 30 minute wait". Nobody was there, we counted 7 people in the house.

Yelp
Sooooo good! I am so happy that I was able to go to this place during my visit in Vancouver. I loved everything that I ate here. The food was great, the service was excellent, the drinks were delicious and the ambiance was so nice. I loved the bone marrow. It was so creamy and buttery. It went perfectly with the toasted bread that it came with. I was also a big fan of the Scottish egg. Which was a boiled egg wrapped with meat. When I first heard about this, I felt like it would be to thick and chewy, but the meat was so tender. The egg was runny and cooked to perfection. I loved the dipping sauce that it came with. All the flavors worked so well in this dish. I would definitely recommend the Scottish egg.

Yelp
My friend and I was in the area, and he brought me here. I have had always thought this place was extremely overrated because it's Gastown and this place has been here for a while now and every time passing by it doesn't seem like a trendy spot. But surprise, it wasn't that bad!! I ordered myself a side car, because I love a fruity sensation in my drinks. And it was made perfectly because it made my nose tingle a little bit. On top of that, I haven't had a proper cocktail for a LOOOONNNGGG time, especially during the pandemic. I did enjoy it a lot because I might have been a little bit ditzy after the first drink..... lol Anyways, the food was extremely typical bar food so I wasn't surprised there at all, but that buger we ordered was just thiccc and juicy. Yes, 3 Cs type of thiccc. And it was oozing with juices on the side to the point the toasted bun, yes toasted, was almost soaked. And to the point where the toasted bun was soaked, the juices was flowing........ Surprised that a typical, regular bar place has good food? Did not believe. Later that night we had their iconic key lime cheesecake. It was recommended by my friend, so I had to have it. The first bite with the keylime foam and the cheese cake made my eyes pop that night. I might have been a little inebriated that night, but still, the flavours of that gin keylime foam was just spectacular. We just missed happy hour that night, so I will be coming back during that time to check out their cocktails and their food and drinks.

Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. It was super empty around 2pm when we arrived, but it started to fill in as we were getting ready to leave. We got the Pourhouse burger and beer lunch special. Saved us a couple of bucks since we were getting beer anyway. The Pourhouse burger was simple but tasty. It came with grilled onion and cheese on a potato bun. We got it without the pork belly. We also got a Cesar salad to start with and it was also good.

Yelp
Amazing food! I got the veggie burger on happy hour and a nonalcoholic version of a gin and tonic that was surprisingly good. My friend god foie grad, bone marrow and beef tartar. Everything was amazing and the vibe was awesome.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, food, & drinks! Every time I come to Pourhouse it's a great time. The staff is very friendly & fun. Give the bartenders an idea of what you like and they will deliver!. Souhail was bar tending for me & he was great! Made amazing drinks & made good conversation! Love coming here!!!

Yelp
This place was amazing! Great service at the bar with such a cool vibe. We went two days in a row because we loved it so much. I got a drink called Jefferson's County and it was delicious. I think it may have been a special drink to them because I've tried ordering it other places and they don't have it. The truffle tots are also a 15/10 and definitely worth getting!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try out this places for awhile and everyone keeps talking about it so I finally had the chance to check them out and now I can see why everyone loves coming here. I've now gone multiple times with different groups and I've yet to come for dinner so I can only provide my views on the atmosphere and drinks. As it's in Gastown, you get the rustic/classy hipster vibe. As they recently renovated, there's now more seating and it gives it a more spacious look. From some of my friends feedback, it looks and feels a lot bigger and nicer. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and if you feel like changing it up, the Mixologist can suggest a couple types of drinks depending on how adventurous you are. I've tried their Penicillin, Gimlet and beers but I would have to say my favorite drink they serve is their Corpse Reviver 2. Parking can be tough to find at times depending on what time and which days you go so if you find a spot a couple blocks away, park. Overall I think this is a fantastic place to bring a date, group settings or just kick it at the bar alone if you had a long day at work and want to unwind. It's not pretentious and it's close to a sky train station in case you end up having one too many drinks :)

Yelp
Highly recommend. Party of one sat at the bar and highly recommend it. I started with the Colonel E.H. Taylor Old Fashioned. I love old fashions. This old fashion is among the top i have had. Sitting at the bar I got to see the bartender make the drink. Started with their fried chicken. It comes with their house pickles and honey mustard sauce. I can't wait to order again. The honey mustard sauce is one of the best. My mouth is watering thinking of this dish. The chicken was juicy and very flavourful. Then I had the beef tartare. It comes with a quail egg on top. Again, this starter was delicious. The egg added that additional flavour. For dinner I had the bacon double cheese burger (recommend by the bartender). This was so delicious. The cheese was melted to perfection. The burger was full flavour. That secret sauce was mmmmm. Not a moment of unhappiness when I ate the burger. The truffle tots were meh. They had 20% off bottle of wines. I can't wait to return. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the music.

Yelp
Walked in spontaneously and had an incredible evening. Everyone we interacted with, from the host to our server to the manager and everyone in between, was fantastic. Drinks were some of the best we ever had anywhere. They were well balanced, flavorful and unique. The scotch egg was delicious. The burger was the best I've ve had in ages. The desserts we delicious. To top it off, they had live music. It was a fantastic trio that made the ambiance wonderful; not to loud but the perfect compliment to a wonderful dinner and amazing evening out.

Yelp
Average food, overpriced. Everything is dry and blend. Beef Tar tar is awful. French fries is not go, the worst I ever tried. Service is fine, so is the bar. Cocktails are good.

Yelp
Pourhouse makes one of my favourite burgers in Vancouver as it's perfectly medium rare and juicy every time. I always add on a fried egg to make it extra delicious! If you manage to get a table between 5-6PM, the burgers are half off for happy hour! Their Portobello Burger is also excellent if you're not feeling like eating beef. Their bacon/broccoli mac and cheese is also great as it's nice and creamy but not too heavy. They also make a tasty scotch egg, which is something that I don't see too often in Vancouver. The restaurant itself is quite loud though as the dining area isn't separated from the bar/pub/lounge area so it's probably not a place you want to go to for good conversation. There's plenty of choices for drinks and the overall atmosphere is very lively!

Yelp
Great selection of beer and the cocktail preparers were spot on. They were meticulous in their creations, down to them tasting each one to make sure they were up to standards (using a stainless steel straw to steal just enough). Food was also good, we hit happy hour, burgers and a scotch egg. We both recommend.

Yelp
Takes an hour to make a subpar lobster. I wish it didn't cost 50 too but this inflation is real.
