What an amazing experience, we were sad to leave after our two night stay. the staffs were all very friendly and polite. Special shout out to the lady at the breakfast area, and the room service staffs for making us feel extra welcome! The hotel is beautifully renovated, the rooms were large with comfortable bedding. The breakfast spread was such a treat, we loved waking up to breakfast! We look forward to coming back again, and highly recommend this place to anyone considering :)

Spent 2 nights between Xmas and NYE. The hotel stands on the grounds of an old palace which was recently refurbished to a high standard. Rooms are modern style and quite comfortable. Service is pretty much below standard. For example, we had no conditioner in the room, we asked for it late afternoon of the first night we stayed there, and it did not arrive until we checked out two days later. Another example was that the bar menu has mostly sandwich and toast options, but when we ordered a toast we heard back they did not have a toaster in the kitchen (BTW, the sandwich I ordered was pretty good). Breakfast was divine! We took it outside in the pateo, drenched by the Winter morning sun. There's a large buffet, but you can have your choice of eggs and your favourite coffee drink prepared for you, which you can mix with all sorts of delicacies offered at the buffet. I will not forget this breakfast!

Superb setting (magnificent gardens and building architecture.) Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Excellent restaurant. Went there twice for dinner with family. Excellent selection. Perfectly prepared. Delicious. Nice wine selection.

This is quite a unusual hotel but very good. Arrived on Thursday afternoon with two rooms booked for us and adult son and daughter in law. Check in was easy and quick. We ate in the resteraunt on two nights and food and service was always excellent. The pool area was clean and tidy. The historical palace surroundings are amazing with ornate high ceilings and great views. The guest area has many artworks and sculputes which was good to review. The guest rooms are spotless and very comfortable. The bed was are so big and V comfortable. Mini fridge in the room. Patio doors and a small private patio area. Bathrooms were spotlessly clean and serviced every day. There were steps up to the hotel service floor but 2 lifts were available. The staff were very friendly and we treated them with respect and they responded accordingly. Faro was a 15-20 min taxi drive and we used UBER and they cost under 10 euro each time. There are many varied food and drink options in Faro centre. This is not a 'Brits abroad' hotel (thankfully) and if you are looking for that type of experience you would be better looking elsewhere. If you want a comfortable hotel with great rooms and staff while exploring Faro then this may be the hotel for you. Thanks to all the hotel staff we interacted with - you were all great!

Enchanting renovated C18 palace perched among orange groves on a quiet hillside of Estoi. The original palace and gardens have been restored as new with reception via the old chapel. The walls and ceilings are richly decorated with mirrors, frescos and paintings. Frescos include Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden, sadly rejected by Google as 'sexually explicit content', so the photo cannot be posted here. The pool and spa have wonderful relaxing views over the valley below, all the way to the sea. The new extensions are luxurious and comfortable featuring galleries of modern art. The staff are amazing and the dining is excellent. Could not find any fault with this hotel. Will return as soon as we can.

A truly beautiful place located in an old palace, very unique, relaxing atmosphere, extremely nice staff, beautiful swimming pool, quiet environment, wonderful breakfast. Our only criticism is regarding the rooms which need to be renovated and are lacking any charm. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely go back.

The ambiance of this historic palace was magnificent. We loved everything about it. The staff was friendly. The rooms were modern and comfortable. They have done an amazing job of restoring this property. We look forward to staying in some of their other properties.

Waking up to the sunlight streaming through was a highlight, and the bed itself was incredibly comfortable – perfect after long days of exploring. Breakfast felt like an event in itself. The buffet was full of local flavors and a variety of options that went beyond the usual continental spread. Fresh bread, pastries, pancakes, and local jams were beautifully arranged, and the Algarve orange juice was a standout. There was a certain charm in how everything was displayed, with wooden crates, antique-style pitchers, and even books propping up bowls of fresh salad and olives. The spa area was tranquil and inviting, with an indoor pool with steam sauna and dry sauna. There’s nothing quite like the otdoor pool, taking a swim while gazing out over the scenic countryside. The outdoor pool, bathed in sunlight, was equally inviting, with plenty of loungers and umbrellas to relax under. It felt like the perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing. One of the unforgettable moments was simply wandering through the palace’s grand rooms, where the ornate walls, gilded furniture, and rich history radiated from every corner. Sitting in the lounge areas, surrounded by centuries-old decor, was a peaceful yet surreal experience. Pousada Palácio de Estói isn’t just a hotel – it’s a chance to live inside a piece of history while enjoying the best comforts of modern hospitality. It’s hard to leave a place that makes you feel both pampered and inspired. This stay will remain a cherished memory.
