Wow the gardens are certainly beautiful!!! If you enjoy beautiful gardens these are highly recommended. We visited during the first week of May so you can see by the pictures what was in bloom. Hope you enjoy as much as we did! Also the cafe inside the house has excellent food! The desserts were delicious and the meals an excellent variety. Multiple varieties of salads and tasty food. Service was excellent!!! Thanks!

The gardens are very pleasant to walk through and I definitely feel like the Japanese gardens are the main feature here, they are very peaceful to walk through. The gardens offer a wide variety of plants and flowers to look at and the sculptures in the gardens are also a nice addition. The ticket prices are pretty fair I think, the gardens are great for a family day out or if you are here for sightseeing.

Good cafe located inside, delicious food, prices not very expensive. Powerscourt has a big green with beautiful views and water installations, you can see a lot of beautiful nature and even a fox roaming around the grounds. The garden is also really nice and tranquil. Good place to go for a few hours to explore powerscourt grounds.

Pure bliss and magic everywhere! 🫶 Had a perfect time strolling around with friends. Beautiful gardens, lakes, and tall trees create charm leading to the tower with a nice view from it. Amazing stone tunnel paths and small bridges. Worth visiting! 🌟

Google
This is a lovely house, which seems to have been turned in to a collection of small shops and a nursery. All of this you can get to for free. You just have to pay for the gardens. The gardens are certainly worth a visit, the layout and design are superb. I bet in May time this garden is fantastic. Its quite impressive in January. You can see why its regarded as the 3rd best gardens in the world. I would certainly recommend a visit here to do some sightseeing.

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of visiting Powerscourt Garden, and it was an unforgettable experience. The weather was perfect, with clear skies and a gentle breeze that made our stroll through the gardens even more enjoyable. The entire estate is stunning, but the highlight for us was undoubtedly the Japanese Garden. Its serene beauty, with carefully arranged plants, winding paths, and tranquil water features, provided a peaceful retreat within the larger garden. The meticulously maintained grounds offered a variety of picturesque spots, each with its own unique charm. We found ourselves constantly stopping to admire the vibrant flowers and well-designed landscapes. Powerscourt truly showcases nature’s beauty at its finest. After exploring the gardens, we treated ourselves to some ice cream at Avoca, and it lived up to the hype. The rich, creamy flavors were a perfect way to cool down and added an extra layer of delight to our visit. The coffee was equally impressive, providing a much-needed boost as we relaxed and soaked in the lovely surroundings. Overall, our visit to Powerscourt Garden was a delightful escape from the everyday hustle, and we left with wonderful memories and a strong desire to return soon. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience natural beauty and tranquility.

Yelp
Superb country estate and gardens within a thirty minute driving distance from our B&B in Dun Laoghaire. Arriving on a bright sunny morning, we were enjoying a tour of the manor, but then realized the real treasure lay outdoors - in the gardens. These are breathtaking and words don't do them justice, so I'm posting a few pictures. In addition to the ornate English and Italian gardens which are near the manor, we also visited the extensive (and hilly) Japanese gardens which are much further away, and made sure we stopped by the quaint pet cemetery. Truth be told, we could easily have spent 2-3 more hours at Powerscourt, because there was so much more to see. But it started raining (not unusual in Ireland!), so we reluctantly tore ourselves away and made our way to Enniskerry (with the famous scene from the movie Leap Year) and then to Glendalough via the Wicklow Mountains. Parking was easy, and there is an excellent (but expensive) restaurant and cafe on the premises, so we could renew ourselves with coffee and sugary snacks. Will be back for sure!

Yelp
Powerscourt Estate and Gardens in Ireland is a stunning destination, often ranked among the top three gardens in the world. This garden is meticulously designed, has amazing views, and has many types of vibrant flora. Unique features like the charming pet cemetery add to its appeal. I loved my visit here especially the Japanese Garden.

Aesha E.

Yelp
Powerscourt was once a castle and fell into significant disrepair, only to later be restored to it's current state. It's a really lovely place to visit and wander the extensive grounds. There's a rose garden here, as well as a Japanese garden. Pepperpot Tower exists from the castle days, and (when I was there anyway) you could go up into it (of course I did). Interestingly there's a waterfall here, and it's one of the longest in Ireland. Oddly, there is an entrance fee to access the waterfall that's a separate ticket. It's not a high cost ticket, but it's kind of odd that there's a charge period. But ticket prices to the estate aren't terribly expensive, and I found it a peaceful place to visit.

Yelp
Such a lovely walk around the estate and seeing the gardens and shops. Being here for Christmas, I'm a little disappointed that there wasn't much in terms of decorations and feeling that festive spirit. However we still enjoyed ourselves as we walked the vast estate. Make sure you don't miss the Pets Cemetary and pay your respects to Kilfane and the rest of the goodest boys and girls

Yelp
Yelp 100 Challenge 2018 - #79/100 "I bid you good afternoon sir. I'm here to purchase your lovely home." Man scoffs and speaks unintelligibly "...else I'll have you horsewhipped. Now get off my property you vagabond before I set the dogs on you. You hear?!" While walking after the liveryman going back to the carriage and unloading the cart full of gold and jewels. Then keys and title exchanged hands. Yup that's the scene from The Count of Monte Cristo that was shot here at Powerscourt Gardens and House. It is such a lovely (home) property! It was gloriously sunny on our visit so we got to enjoy our stroll. The Japanese garden was especially beautiful. I'm glad I didn't have to shell out a cart full of gold and jewels to enjoy this gorgeous "garden."

Yelp
I'm embarrassed to admit I had never heard of Powerscourt. Truthfully I only went here because it was part of a tour that included several hours of free time in Dublin. I figured why not. I had read a vague description and figured I was up for an adventure. It was one of my better decisions. This place is absolutely incredible. We arrived on a gorgeous summer's day where not a cloud marked the sky. After watching a short video we grabbed these nifty audio devices that paired with stations around the gardens that told different facts in a fun and informative style. It was utterly charming. The gardens are huge. Despite a significant number of people I never felt crowded and despite the gardens being open to the public for years I didn't lose sense that this had been someone's home and various people's passion over generations. It is very easy to traverse, impossible to get lost, and overly amazing. The number of fountains, statues, plants, flowers, and trees you'll see here is astounding. The estate also has several shops full of a variety of items - clothes, blankets, soaps, food, children toys, etc. Really it was probably the only place I felt pressed for room. They also have a restaurant and a whiskey room. It was utterly charming!

Aryo S.

Yelp
Powerscourt Gardens offers a serene and quiet environment with acres of lush green surroundings and beautiful well-landscaped gardens and areas. They are several gardens, lakes and ponds, statues, walkways and hollows and more. I enjoyed a day here and several hours were spent gazing and admiring the beauty around. There's a cafe on site, several shops, and different areas with benches to sit on amongst the gardens and different areas. One of the top 10 gardens in the world! Price of admission is about 7 euros.

Scott B.

Yelp
Amazing. The very best of Ireland in a beautiful countryside setting. History, beauty, serenity, food, drink, spa. It's all here.

Marie S.

Yelp
Such a surprise, but a beautiful place! Just as we arrived, the clouds parted and the sun shone down on the golden gates. The Japanese garden and pet cemetery were some of my favorites. The Pegasus statue, the horses against the Sugar Loaf Mountains. It's hard to believe that the Pepperpot Tower was made so that a rich family's kids could play in it. Crazy. We got there just as they were starting to put up some of the Christmas decorations. Cute cafe and giant cookies that sell for a cheap price. My only wish was that we got to spend more time here on our tour (rather than just an hour and a half)

Neluta G.

Yelp
Gorgeous gardens and if you are lucky to visit this place on a sunny day in Ireland it will be even more spectacular. The property is huge and some of the family that owns it lives on the property. All grades and perfectly manicured and maintained, their staff is very large to maintain these gardens. The smell of the flowers, trees and plants makes the experience unique. These gardens were listed as the third best in the World according to National Geographic. Worth visiting while in Ireland. There is also a golf course area with two golf courses near by and a hotel that is very nice.

Yelp
Note: all my recent vacation in Ireland Yelp reviews will have the same 1st paragraph preamble, for just the review itself skip to the 2nd paragraph. On a whirlwind 2 week vacation to Ireland, the girlfriend & I tried to see & experience absolutely as much of this incredible land as we could. We did not accomplish every last activity we wished we could have on our rather ambitious itinerary. Nonetheless, we did discover a land of numerous stunning & magical wonders. We did see a land of unending natural beauty. We did learn of a land with a monumentally long history of trials, tragedies & triumphs. We did get to meet many kind, humorous, warm & generous people. Our vacation to Ireland was just 2 weeks, but that was time enough to know this is a land easy to love & a land to be sorely missed. Saying goodbye to Dublin for now, the girlfriend & I would ultimately end the day in Killarney, which would be our new home in Ireland for the next few nights. Along the way, we took a detour down through the Wicklow Mountains with a stop at the Powerscourt Estate. For just €6 apiece, we toured the Powerscourt Gardens & House at our own leisure. The well manicured grounds are expansive with a beautiful mountain & valley backdrop in the distance. Along our way around the gardens, we came across a stone tower, a Japanese garden area, Dolphin Pond, a pet cemetery & walled garden areas. This was quite the lovely place to go for a walk & survey how the outlandishly wealthy of a bygone era once lived. Nowadays it might be all about the Gulfstream G650 or the fleet of Ferraris, but Powerscourt was how bling was done way, way back in the day. The Powerscourt Gardens & House are quite impressive & served as a nice place for the girlfriend & I to stretch our legs on a long driving day. Though we certainly took the long way from Dublin to Killarney, it was just as much about the journey as the destination.

Yelp
This is a beautiful Victorian garden and mansion located not far from Dublin. The mansion does not have typical home furnishings. Instead it is split into a tea room and a number of shops. You really go here to see the vast gardens. The grounds and gardens are huge and will easily take you a few hours to see everything. This is our second time here and we plan to return on our next trip to Ireland.

Nick M.

Yelp
This place is sick (as in the good way)!! I could walk these grounds everyday and never get bored. Just think how cool of a game of ghosts in the grave yard or laser tag would be here!! It's an 18th-century mansion with a garden like no other, sitting on 47 acres of land. It was originally a 13th century castle positioned for a strategic military importance controlling the three rivers and has had many owners over the years. Though the house itself is beautiful it is nothing compare to the diverse gardens. The estate is not only a famous tourist attraction but it has been used for such films as The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) and Barry Lyndon. The gardens are themed and each one is gorgeous. I don't what to give it all away but the Japanese, Italian, and walled garden are excellent. Plus, a pet cemetery and a stone tower built in 1911 (which you can walk up). The whole garden can be walked in an hour but to take the time to enjoy it all I would give yourself 2 hours. Entrance fee is 8 euro for adults and 5 euro for children. Hungry? Check out the Terrace Cafe which was actually pretty descent. They get all their ingredients from the land, so processed crap. The soup and home baked bread are the way to go. The soups are hardy and tasty for a chilly day. I didn't expect such a meal, I left full and zenful from my walk in the gardens. If you have more time you can get in a round of golf (which will probably empty your wallet) and check out the Ireland's highest waterfall.

Katie G.

Yelp
A nice afternoon (or morning) out - just a short drive away from Dublin. Beautiful gardens, with a variety of different themes, making it interesting to investigate the different parts. Its a shame the annual membership isn't more affordable - at €95 it seems a lot (especially as annual membership for Blenheim Palace and Gardens is only £20). Otherwise it would be great to pop back to on a regular basis.

Jason G.

Yelp
My partner and I went to Powerscourt for half a day, and overall, it was a very nice activity with beautiful gardens and great shops. Unfortunately, much of the history of the great house has been lost to history, since a fire in the 1970s burnt the place out. They renovated it and put a whole lot of shops there, which are also worth a visit. All different kinds of stores from carpets the candles to handicrafts. Gardens are what you're really here to see. They have different walks of various lengths for you to explore. They also give you a free audio guy that is pretty advanced technology. No need to constantly be referencing back to a book or pamphlet. The grounds are beautiful and it's a good activity for adults or kids. You will definitely walk a lot!

Kate B.

Yelp
I recently stayed in the Powerscourt Hotel, and while out that neck of the woods decided to visit Powerscourt House and Gardens. The house was completed in 1741 and was designed around the medieval castle in the style of Palladian architecture. It is an absolutely stunning building and sits beautifully at the entrance of the gardens. Powerscourt House was recently voted as One of the Top Ten Houses and Mansions Worldwide by the Lonely Planet Guide and it's not hard to see why. Upon walking through the house to the Italian Gardens you are met with an amazing view of the Sugar Loaf and the Wicklow mountains. Veering left brings you past Tower Valley, where you find the Pepperpot Tower, modelled on a pepperpot from Lord Powerscourt's dining table. My favourite area was the Japanese Gardens. Here you will find a Pagoda and a trickling stream under pretty Japanese bridges. The view of the house from Triton Lake is spectacular and there's also a beautifully well kept Walled Garden. We were lucky enough to get a lovely day to enjoy our stroll. If you are feeling peckish there is an Avoca cafe and store offering plenty of goodies. And for the shoppers out there the Design Loft offers hand-crafts and original Irish design, from jewellery and accessories to home-wares. If you find yourself at a loose end over the summer I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Powerscourt House for a little day trip :-)

Camille D.

Yelp
Amazing place! Definitely worth getting to. Also worry going to the waterfalls. Difficult to do it all without a car

Jacinta I.

Yelp
The jewel of Wicklow. Beautiful place for a family walk. Nice cafe. Lots of history. One of the nicest parks in Ireland

Esther W.

Yelp
This place is definitely worth a visit if you are around Wicklow. Beautiful gardens for acres! The architecture of the house is impressive and the lawns are beautifully manicured. There's so much to see! From the Japanese gardens, to the big pond, to the huge garden of roses, everything was breathtaking. I really loved the rose garden the best. There are rows and rows of different colored roses. It took me a while to even recognize the flowers as roses too, because they are so large and in such full bloom. I joked with my friend that these roses were all on crack or steroids because they just look so massive compared to the little puny ones in America. There's also a lot of shopping available inside the house. A little deli market, Avoca (a wool clothing store), house decor, and artists' market were all housed inside.

Lauren M.

Yelp
My mom and I went to Ireland in October 2009. We ventured to Powerscourt on a sunny Sunday morning. We had brunch outside in the sunshine, along with the entire population of Wicklow County. It had been rainy for a solid week (no kidding!), and that day was the best day to see the gardens. The cafe was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious and a big helping. I'll post a couple pictures from our adventure. You must walk a bit to see the Japanese garden and the pet cemetery. The rose garden was in full bloom, I wish I could make a "scratch and sniff" of the pictures I took. Mom and I didn't do the full tour of the house because it was so nice outside, we took full advantage of the gardens. Highly recommended!

Matt R.

Yelp
This is a beautiful location, and there is actually quite a lot to see. Getting here can be a bit of an issue, but once you get here it will be very clear that it's well worth the view. There are also technicalities that come into play here, just like every other part of Ireland in general. Specifically, I'm referring to the waterfall. If you buy a pass to the Powerscourt Gardens, it doesn't include a pass for the waterfall - which is another 5 EUR or so. Keep this in mind if budget is a concern. Also as far as location/logistics, right where you enter the gardens the Powerscourt cafe will be immediately visible on the left and you'll see people outside, assuming it's not raining. As Nick noted - this starts with an enormous and beautiful mansion, complete with golfing grounds right across the street from the Estate. Ireland is a very golf-friendly (and wallet unfriendly) destination, after all. The garden consists of a number of beautiful statues, some well maintained flowers, gardens with individual cultural themes and everything is very, very walkable. The garden actually looks a lot bigger than it is. If you were trying to walk the entire garden quickly I would think it could be accomplished in about a half hour to maybe 2-3 hours if you're really trying to take in the beauty of the site. I actually took probably 2-3 hours, and really got some photos out of the experience. Views here are absolutely astounding, although I did elect to skip the pet cemetery. Flora is well maintained, and I would actually suggest spending some time to really see how beautiful some of the flowers in the garden are and also take in some views of the countryside while you're on the walk.

Lois W.

Yelp
The gardens are beautiful gardens and they have programs for the kids. The onsite cafe was reasonable and delicious.

Erin L.

Yelp
This was once the place of residence of Lord Powerscourt. Today, this well-preserved 18th-century mansion is surrounded by magnificent gardens. There is no admission fee, however to park it was around 12 Euro. If you are without a car, you can catch a bus from Dublin on the regular city buses. It takes about an hour to reach Enniskerry. I absolutely loved Powerscourt - we visited on a very nice warm and non-rainy day a few weeks ago and had a blast. If you enjoy beautiful flowers and nice scenery and are willing to walk a bit this is the place for you. The first sight of the gardens in the back of the house is breathe taking. Just the view from the Italian garden, causing your eyes to travel down the terraced steps to the lake, then up towards the magnificence of Sugar Loaf Mountain was stunning. Pepperpot Tower was fun. You were actually able to climb up to the top of the round tower and see additional views. The Japanese gardens were pristine and the pet cemetery was a bit quirky. Also, the food in the Avoca cafe is pretty good, although overpriced like most food is at tourist stops in Ireland. We had the traditional Irish meal of brown bread and soup and it was delicious.

Natalie M.

Yelp
Could there be a more magical place to get married? I was in Powerscourt on Saturday for a friend's wedding and it was just perfect. The sun was shining, the beautiful couple are madly in love, we stood having champagne looking out over the amazing gardens and Wicklow mountains. This house is the stuff of dreams. The funny thing is that while we were all in our finery, there were tourists walking around and checking out the old house and exploring the gardens. Powerscourt house is beautiful for a Sunday walk or just to get out of the city. It's also a must if you have anyone from abroad and you'd like to take them some where nice for a day. There's Italian gardens, Japanese gardens, walled gardens, a lovely coffee shop (they have 99s ice-creams) and an Avoca shop here. There's plenty to do here and plenty of space for kids to run around and enjoy the fresh air. Or if you're looking for a breath-taking venue for your wedding. Powerscourt is just beautiful.

Sean S.

Yelp
You'll definitely get your steps in at this place. This place was pretty cool to check out. Lots of diversity in the grounds. Count of Monte Cristo filmed here so a cool unintentional find considering I'm a fan of the movie. Sucks you can't picnic on the grounds but understandable, if you could tourists would trash the place for sure. Head to the Powerscourt waterfall to picnic

Bria M.

Yelp
Had a super nice day here with my mum. A good idea is to go for a nice walk and then treat yourself in the Avoca cafe. The Japanese gardens were beautiful with their cherry blossoms in bloom. Great place to being kids, go with your parents, your parents or even by yourself for some me time! Garden centre and small Avoca shop there as well! It was swell!!

Suzanne H.

Yelp
Love this place! The food is excellent. The staff are incredibly friendly and the location is simply stunning. Put on your 'must visit when in Ireland list!'

Patricia T.

Yelp
Absolutely stunning. Allow yourself a good 5 hours to really enjoy this stunning estate and it's gardens at a leisurely pace. You should also consider having lunch here as the Avoca cafe has excellent lunch offerings. Do yourself a favor and arrive early to avoid the crowds and throngs of people from tour busses. You'll be happy you did.

Diana J.

Yelp
Nothing beats family day in Powers court Gardens, went there with my family and with my boyfriend, we were tight for time so we only had 45 mins to spend there as they were closing at 17.30 so we decided to go back next time there for a few good hours without any rush, it's such a beautiful place! I liked Japanese Garden the most-it's so beautiful and so exotic! We went there last Sunday-weather was perfect so nice and sunny! Took lots of pictures! Never seen anything more beautiful! My mum is so much into gardening so she definitely appreciated this trip:)

Vivek T.

Yelp
My wife, girls and friends checked out this fabulous place-the Powerscourt Waterfall. It's Irelands tallest waterfall and was extremely refreshing, fantastic photos and great place for picnic-which we did. Should have brought a BBQ. There is a shop/fast food place and lots of comfy picnic tables. It's probably a good 30-40 minutes south of Dublin City Centre. Bring plenty of bug repellent!!!!

Leah F.

Yelp
Great place to bring the family or have a quiet walk through the beautiful gardens, especially the Japanese gardens, my niece who is only six didn't want to leave!

Maire B.

Yelp
The gardens are lovely for a stroll on a sunny day, but at 8 euro a head its a bit steep. if you're going stay for lunch in the, well a bit overpriced, cafe. I will give special mention to their scones and cakes which are particularly nice. The shop there does have some lovely things, even if they are, again, overpriced. So not a cheap as chips day out but nice for a treat and some fresh air

Erin D.

Yelp
Everytime I go back home, I make a trip to the waterfall here. The last time I took my son and he played on the awesome playground that you would never find here in the States.

Cristin L.

Yelp
When I think of Powerscourt Gardens and House it usually brings me back to when we drove up to it one autumn day, the driveway was a fabulous autumnal array of golds and browns. I have to be honest, I've not paid into see the gardens. We go here for the shops or the food or both. All of which are pricey. The drive is lovely and the building that is free to enter is nice. The gardens look nice too. You can view them from the terrace of the cafe if you've not paid to see them. I guess I will go see the gardens eventually. I hope it will be worth it.

Lisa V.

Yelp
Beautiful grounds. I especially like that some sections are woodsy and not overly manicured. They also have a good cafeteria with surprisingly nutritious, delicious vegetarian options. This is a nice choice for a daytrip if you're visiting Dublin.

Sam S.

Yelp
Fabulous and until recently had no idea this place existed. A must see when in Ireland and so close to Dublin :-)))

Joshua R.

Yelp
This makes for a gorgeous day trip out of Dublin, either as part of the Dublin Bus tour or you can just grab Line 44 like I did from the bus stop just off the Luas Stop at Dundrum Town Centre. The Gardens are extensive and if you're going with a mixed you can all find something to do-either the 40 minute loop, the 1-hour loop, or you can just pick a spot in the Japanese Garden to sit with a book while your friends walk, shop, or whatever. Do take some time to look at the better-than-amateur but not-quite-museum-level diaramas and exhibits about the history of the area, it gives a casual visitor a peek into the history of Ireland by describing both the evolving architecture of the estate and the political situation around the country. If there's one drawback, it's the fact that you can't take a picnic onto the grounds and just bask in the environment. While I understand the reason, it's just such a picnic-able spot it's kinda a bummer not to have the option. Bottom Line: Day Trip!!!!

J D.

Yelp
I could eat here everyday. Savory chicken apricot tarine, root vegetable salad, passion fruit tart with fresh whipped cream. Recipes may be found in Avoca books but I am not sure the magic of this place transcends across oceans. Oh! And the gardens are surreal too :) perfect place to curl up and nap after your meal.

Colleen C.

Yelp
A fabulous escape from Dublin. Such beautiful surroundings and views. On a sunny day, you couldn't get much better. Such a breathtaking place, well worth the visit and the price

Sasha A.

Yelp
I've lived in Dublin for three years and went to Powerscourt Gardens for the first time yesterday, and I couldn't believe I have been missing out all this time! That being, said having the weather for it makes a difference as well. I don't think it would be as enjoyable if it were pouring rain. The gardens were beautiful! The ponds and fountains were beautiful, and the trees were tall and gorgeous. My favorite was the Japanese garden area. I just couldn't stop using words like "incredible" and "beautiful" the whole time. Before our walk around the grounds, we ate lunch outside on the terrace of the Avoca Café. It was lovely to have a nice meal with all the beautiful surroundings! At the café you got your food canteen style with a tray etc , and you had your choice of a hot or cold entrée and then your choice of three different salads to accompany it. I had the spinach, feta and pine nut tartlet, which was a hot entrée, and I chose the potato salad, coleslaw, and broccoli salad. The serving sizes were hearty and for 15 euro it's a steal! I also shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio with my boyfriend, which was just under 21 euro. The food was delicious and it was a great day to enjoy the meal outside. They have seating inside as well, but most people wanted to sit outside yesterday. After our walk around the gardens, we went back to the café for dessert! We shared a slice of lemon cheesecake, which was delicious but probably could have been a little cooler...Didn't stop me from eating it though! I will definitely be back here, but next time I think I'll bring a picnic and enjoy it on the grass.

Alicia C.

Yelp
The Powerscourt Gardens are just down the road from the Powerscourt hotel and even in the off season, it is worth the price of admission. Beautiful ponds, sculptures, woods and landscaping await. There is also a nice shop area on site that sells baked goods from Avoca, a small art gallery that features local artists, and clothing, jewelry, and home goods from local vendors. There is even a garden shop if you are feeling inspired after your tour.

Cherryl D.

Yelp
My Ratings: Quantity: 4 - Lots to see and do Quality: 4 - Beautiful place Price: 4 - Affordable Location: 4 - Nice Service: 4 - Good Speed: 4 - Good Overall: Plenty to see, lots of photo ops, a very beautiful and well kept place. My Opinion/Story: One of the most memorable and beautiful places in Ireland, I was fortunate to see this place. The place is huge with vast gardens, a pond in the middle, a castle, a japanese garden, huge trees, and lots of statues. Peaceful and not alot of tourist which makes you feel like you have free roam of the place. Gives you a glimpse of how the wealthy lived centuries ago. The place is truly stunning and amazing.

Wyatt S.

Yelp
This was a very beautiful garden. I would highly recommend a visit if you're nearby. There are lots of plants, ponds, and trails, as well as a cool tower you can climb to the top of.

Normally I am not hugely excited about gardens overall, but since it was a beautiful day and it was recommended by our driver, we decided to stop and walk around Powerscourt. When you get outside you are immediately WOWED by the enormity of the grounds. Holy shit, what a huge lot. we went to the right and started that direction. The flowers were still in bloom and gorgeous as the weather was fantastic and warm. I even took pictures of flowers and I just generally don't do that. Other things that I thought were cool was the pet cemetery (including horses and a cow that had provided a LOT of milk to the family), the pond with a huge statue, a tower surrounded by cannons, and a walkway with intricate designs in different color stone. If it is a nice day then this is a gorgeous place to walk around! In the house you could see the ballroom area and watch a film about the people that owned it. I am not sure if you can see more of the house, but we didn't go. There is also a cafe on site and a store with some nice items to peruse. Nice gardens, so if you have people with you that love looking at immaculately maintained gardens, then definitely stop here and walk around for an hour or two.

Yelp
Loved Powerscourt! I didn't want to leave for all the beauty there. They really capitalized on the beauty of the valley in this part of Dublin. We visited here from Royal Marine Hotel. A nice drive, about 20 minutes away by rental car. The only thing that could be better was to provide wheelchair access to some of the hard to reach places for people who cannot walk up and down hills. Felt like we missed out on so much of the gardens! But what we saw was truly amazing! I loved it there and could have stayed all day! They do have a restaurant on the grounds to have a bite to eat. They also have a gift shop which is quite elaborate and nice! The hills are nice for children to play on though! I can only image some of the huge dinner parties on these grounds!

Yelp
this place is amazing. A few cool things to check out while in there. Parking is okay, and there are alot to see. The Gardens are a must see here. The cafe' shop... no. food wasnt that good IMO, and a bit pricey (again, going by euros is a bit off for me. This might be an expensive place to eat.

Yelp
Wear good walking shoes and plan on spending most of the day strolling the gardens. The pet semetary and poison garden were highlights. This estate is lovely.

Yelp
I used to go here a lot when I was younger with my family. I used to roll down the hills with my sister - ignoring the 'do not walk on the grass' signs, of course. I like this place, especially on a sunny day. Their stores that sell vintage inspired items and cakes are very quaint and cute although the whole place is quite pricey. Not being able to bring in pets and having to actually pay to visit the gardens is really a shame. A great place to bring the young kids or to visit if you are very into landscaping.
