"For well over a decade, Mexico City native Angelica Maria Solis Zamudio has been serving Tulumenses gorgeous plates of antojitos chilangos at her open-air fonda. Diners fill the house at lunch for pozoles in zesty red, pure white, and green (the last made with earthy pipian verde), which all come with an array of diced onions, shredded cabbage, sliced radishes, oregano, toasted chiles, fiery salsas, and tortilla chips. While hot soup may be the furthest thing from your mind in the Quintana Roo heat, they’re precisely how Mexicans cool off. If you want to go another route, enchiladas and chilaquiles come in blankets of flavorful red or green salsas, sliced by slivers of white onion, cool Mexican cream, and generous powderings of salty, white cheese." - Bill Esparza

It’s a perfect place if you are into Mexican cuisine and especially pozole! The food is delicious! And the real revelation for me was their mole – absolute must try 🫶

No frills authentic pozole soup. Most people come to Tulum for the fancy restaurants, but this is the good stuff. Outdoor seating no aircon so be prepared to sweat a bit, but it’s worth it. Location is easy to miss if there’s cars parked out front. I eat here at least once a week. I always get the green pozole as it’s special, but it seems the fan favorite is the red. Medium is more than enough to fill you up but if you want something special order a sopa. If there’s 4 of you order a mole chilaquiles to share. You’ll see lots of locals so you know it’s the good stuff. Also as friendly on the wallet as can be. Service is always fast and super friendly. LUNCH ONLY!! Make sure you don’t miss this experience!!

I adore this local cafe, set back from the street. I thought I would work my way thru the menu, however, now that I have tried their Mole Enchiladas w Oaxacan cheese and the guacamole, I cannot Not order that everytime. And their fresh fruit-based drinks are so great. My friend is hooked on the Pozole soup w organic chicken.

Absolute gem in Tulum. I don’t even want this place over crowded with gringos but really one of my favorite brunch spots. Weekends they have pancita(like a menudo but clear and yummy)

I went on a weekend to try their pancita. One of the best I have tasted. The place is clean and nicely decorated. I will definitely be back to try the pepian dishes!!! Update: I went back twice since my first visit. I tried the Pepian and the pozole rojo. Both really good. Pleasant service and atmosphere! Gracias

Amazing food 🎖😍😍 Everything is super tasty and on point. We opted for the quesadillas, 3 different ones- rajas, chicharron prensado y tinga de pollo. We also got the enchiladas de mole (chicken). Everything was delicious. The wait was about 20 min - and absolutely worth it. HIGHLY RECCOMEND for authentic, tasty food. Service is fast and friendly.

I wanted to eat where the locals go and I was soooo happy I found this hidden gem. The food is very fresh and delicious with no frills. We went back for lunch everyday and was only in Tulum for 5 days. The staff are amazing, fast, friendly and very courteous. HIHGLY RECOMMEND. Try the soup, chicken quesadilla and chicken enchiladas.
