Pozoles Texcoco - Review - Roma - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"Pozole is the best thing to have after a night out for a late breakfast or early lunch, and while we fully stand behind that statement, there’s much more to the hominy corn stew than being a simple hangover cure. Have a meal at Pozoles Texcoco and you’ll see what we mean. The decor is fun and relaxed, the food is homey and comforting, and eating here feels a bit like being in a simple Mexican normcore cafeteria. Order the Pozole Mixteco, which has a deep and rich pork bone broth and heirloom hominy corn, served with braised pork and tons of toppings, including lettuce, dried chiles, avocado, dried oregano, and more. For dessert, try the Chocoflan: a flan and brownie combination cake topped with nuts and whipped cream." - Guillaume Guevara

Great bowl of pozole. We went on a cold night the staff was very welcoming in explaining to some foreign newcomers. I went with the Rojo and another went with blanco. Rojo is supposedly spicy, I did not feel the spice, but it's broth was thick, rich and full of spices. The blanco was the elevation for me. I've never had this type of pozole before and great for folks with sensitive stomachs looking for a deliciously clean feeling broth.

I tried out all 3: blanco, rojo and verde. Blanco and rojo were my favorite. Note their style is thicker, as if they added starch. My only criticism: I wish they had an option to add more meat 🍖 Excellent chicharrons 🐷 Friendly staff. Would I come here again? Yes. Hits the spot like a good bowl of pho on a rainy day Edit 2: absurdly delicious Chocoflan 🍫🍮 It’s a must try.

We tried the verde and rojo, both were so delicious! One of the owners came and talked to us for a little bit and told us about the restaurant. She was so friendly and I appreciated learning more about the food and her history. Chicharron was very good as well!

I've never had Pozoles before. And, wow I could not have asked for a better introduction. We got the Verde and Rojo. The Verde was so refreshing, and the Rojo had so much wonderful flavor. Also got some chicharrón on the side which was excellent in the pozole.

This is a must in Mexico City! The BEST Pozole ever… we had the green Pozole and the Pozole mixteco. So excellent ! The chef is committed to authentic Pozole and they are wonderful. Do not miss the chocoflan for desert!!!!! And, ask about the history of Pozole and then check out their logo.

This place is amazing! They serve the best pozzole ever. The waitress was very nice to us, she took the time to share about pozzole and Mexico’s history with us, we really appreciated our dinner. The chef was also very nice and came to talk with us. All the team work very hard to provide a 5 stars service to the customer.

Very nice simple mexican eatery. Authentic taste. I loved the potato quesadillas. The spicy sauce was really rich if you like a fiery kick. It is good for a quick break while sightseeing. Very low prices.
