The Best Paris Restaurants, Cafes, Bakeries, and Bars to Visit in a Day | Eater

"An ice cream shop beloved for a Sicilian pistachio flavor made from Bronte nuts that achieves a remarkable umami-sweet depth, and a chocolate-hazelnut flavor that many customers describe as rapturous; the shop has two convenient locations in the city." - Alexander Lobrano

Google
There was a time when this was the best icecream in Paris and we recommended to all our colleagues. Its now turned into an overpriced touristic icecream place, with a price not at all accessible to students, with very less quantity of icecream per cone, compared to how it was a year back. Owners if are reading this, if you hike the price, consider hiking the quantity as well.

Google
Was really craving ice cream at nighttime and ran into this ice cream shop. The gelato was very delicious! Staff was friendly, great experience!

Raffi Hasserjian

Google
Convenient little spot for ice cream. Polite service and good variety of flavour. Unfortunately no bathroom here.

KW Yoke

Google
Lovely ice cream, lovely price, lovely server. They don't have a wide range of flavours, but what they have were really good. I loved the straciatella and hazelnut. Personally felt the pistachio could be stronger. What was most amazing was the serving size. For the small cone (4.90), you can ask for unlimited number of flavours and the lovely waitress will pile it up for you. Easily my best ice cream experience in Paris.

Alisha

Google
Not the best ice cream I’ve ever had, but for Paris this ice cream is definitely one of the best. The melon ice cream was very fresh and had tiny little melon chunks in which I loved. The gianduja was very delicious creamy chocolate ice cream. Will definitely go back!

Duru Barbak

Google
Normal (medium) size is pretty decent and has a reasonable price of 4,9€. I tried the pistachio hazelnut chocolate flavors and they were tasty. I’m also planning to try the coffee one. Good ice cream shop in the Marais. You can get a cone and walk around the neighborhood.

Maria Emilia Alvarez

Google
Ordered the small cone and was served the average of 3 scoops. The ice cream portions are huge. Ice cream tastes good, although I prefer creamier and more intense in taste and less sweet. Not the best ice cream for me by far. Not bad either.

Google
Absolutely incredible gelato in Paris. The walk up window is adorable, and each flavour amazing. I highly recommend grabbing a cone and going for a long walk around La Marais.

Yelp
damn. So far on this trip, this gelato has been the best I've had. The coffee flavor was great but this cinnamon was INSANE. I usually get cinnamon back at home at marble slab but I don't think I can get it again knowing this one is out there... I'm so sorry marble slab. I've been such a loyal customer over the years but I think it's time we part ways. I found someone better but he lives across the sea. He's so worth it though so it looks like we're gonna have to do long distance. I'll always have a special place in my heart for you though

Yelp
As ever, we decamped after our late lunch to Pozzetto for decent coffee and dessert (long queue for the take away ice-creams)...busy day, we too had to sit outside for once...but it is a tiny place...no smokers, but very busy all around us No point in having sorbets etc at a resto, when you can come here...nicer inside though

Kyla W.

Yelp
Dude in window let his friends attempt to bully customers so he can give them free product. Gelato is excellent. The service is the exact opposite, piss poor even.

Mitesh P.

Yelp
Just avg or even below avg ice cream. It was almost melting too. Not worth going here
google avatar

Yelp
The most delicious ice cream I have ever eaten, I enjoyed the the coconut flavor with hints of flakes in it. The pistachio was chef kiss. Give yourself a treat you deserve it.
google avatar

Derrick C.

Yelp
5.90 euros for as many flavors as you want in a medium come. This may be one of the best gelatos I have ever had. It's creamy and flavorful! Got a mix of pistachio, hazelnut, chocolate hazelnut, dark chocolate. I'd come back again for this. There is also a reasonable amount of indoor seating.
google avatar

Leemor Y.

Yelp
If you are craving Italian gelato, they have a very solid pistachio flavor (4.6/5). I went with 5 other people and we managed to find a spot to sit at the back, but it's a bit tight / crowded. That being said, it didn't stand out so much for me to go out of my way to go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing gelato and a very friendly staff! Take it to go or sit inside! Great little spot for a treat.

Yelp
It's always a bit of an odd feeling when my experience goes against the Yelpy grain, but I really just thought that my gelato at Pozzetto wasn't anything to write home about really. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? What I will say is that Pozzetto is an adorable little shop with the kindest man you can imagine working the counter. He's bilingual, which was a relief to my virtually non-existent French, and he was more than happy to explain the concept and some of his favorite flavors. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? €4,00 for a double scoop of gelato in a cone was a bargain and a half. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? My Stracciatella gelato was, well, just okay. The consistency itself was good - whipped and fluffy, but the flavor simply didn't come through in a way that I think it's supposed to. From there, I would have loved to see some caramel or cookie options on the menu, but I get that Pozzetto is a more traditional shop. Single Star. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? Pozzetto is good, but I think there are better gelato shops in town. No Star.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I loved this place. Not only to they have delicious gelato but they have really good food here too. The staff were really nice and took their tone explaining the menu. I would recommend this place for lunch, drinks, or gelato or better yet all three!

Avery D.

Yelp
Best pistachio + coffee Gelato I've ever had! 10/10 would recommend!!! Line went quick and there is some seating
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
Amazing gelato that will make you think you were transported to Italy. It's authentic, creamy and fresh, and the flavors are very much Italian. For the gelato, they had fresh milk, hazelnut, straticella and some others, and about 4 flavors of sorbet to pick from. You can get your ice cream in a cup or cone, you can get it to go, or they have a small space inside to eat. The only downside is the gelato is pretty expensive, at almost 5€ for a scoop, and the scoops are not super large. It's nice for a treat once in a while, but this place is not cheap! Still, one of the best hazelnut gelato I have had in a long time, at a price, but not quite as expensive as booking a trip to Italy.

Yelp
Is it possible to describe my love for this place in words? I think not. I found this place through one of the dozens of food recommendation sites online while doing research for what to eat in Paris. It did not disappoint. I sampled two flavours: pistachio and fig. I didn't even bother sampling more because I was legitimately in love. Both flavours tasted fresh, natural, and were the perfect amount of sweet. The pistachio was creamy and nutty and the fig was absolutely divine. The servers were friendly and there was no line at all. I would go back and try all the flavours if I could. Too bad I'm not in Paris anymore :( 5/5 Eiffel towers

Yelp
Pozzetto is delicious! It's located in a lively area, not far from L'As du Fallafel, which makes for an awesome (and cheap), delicious dinner & dessert! I highly recommend this foodie crawl in Le Marais. First off, the staff are super friendly! The man helping us spoke English and offered up many samples for us to try! They also have an English menu if needed. Also, best of all, you can choose unlimited flavors -- whatever fits in the cup -- so feel free to pick out several! I chose Fiordilatte (fresh cream), Yaourt (yogurt) and Café (coffee) in my medium sized cup, which was plenty for me! The yogurt was my favorite flavor! It was very rich, smooth and quite tangy! I loved it! The fresh cream flavor was very refreshing too, and the coffee flavor was rich and strong. He even let me choose the varying amounts of each flavor I wanted. I got the most of Yogurt, then cream, and then a bit of coffee since it's very strong and would overpower the other flavors. The cream and yogurt flavors blended a bit, and the yogurt overpowered it a bit, but that's ok. It was so good! It was 4.50 Euros I think for our takeaway medium cups. I'd definitely come again!

Yelp
I do not give many reviews. But, I wanted to make sure I took the time to show my appreciation for Pozzetto 2. The gelato is the best my family has had in all of our trip! I had the milk and cream and hazelnut -- amazing! The gentleman working the shop we have named "the nicest man in all of France." He was very accommodating to our family. We have three little children and a baby and he happily welcomed us into his shop. We felt we were genuinely appreciated as customers. The most we had felt on our travels. I most certainly recommend good people to this shop. It is run with genuine management.

Yelp
Awesome gelato! I found this place from Yelp and I'm glad that I found it! It was freezing cold in Paris because we visited during the winter, but that did not prevent us from getting gelato after dinner. I'm glad we decided to visit Pozette! They have seasonal flavors and it was chestnut when we visited. You don't find chestnut gelato often, so we're were really excited. They add full chunks of chestnuts in their gelato! We also tried the hazelnut flavor and the chocolate hazelnut flavor. They were all really good! The person working at the shop was very kind and kept adding more gelato to the cup before it overflowed with gelato! If I come back to Paris in the summer, I would need to come here everyday! Give this place a try if you are in the area!

Yelp
A friend of mine, who is studying in Paris, took us there. ::Ambience:: A very tiny, narrow but cozy shop with outdoor seating area. ::Food:: LOVE the pistachio gelato! You have to have it! I also loved the dark chocolate and yogurt! Too bad they ran out of milk (my friend said that's her second favoriate). Bascially, you can't go wrong with any of their gelatos, even through the selection was limited. ::Service:: The staff was nice and paitient. We were still deciding, while talking to him. He didn't give us attitude at all. ::Fun Fact:: My friend told me that her Italian friends found this place is very good and original, just like how they had in Italy. Have to go back again.

Yelp
Very good customer service - friendly lady greeted us, answered all our questions in English and let us sample everything. She also brought water and cups to our table as we are our ice cream inside. I got the nutmeg, which tasted like cold porridge - a good thing, and hazelnut in a medium cup. The serving was plentiful . The icecream is very soft - it was nice ice cream but I wasn't blown away as its supposed to be the best ice cream in Paris. I found the flavors to be a little plain Jane for my taste.

Yelp
This was the best gelato I have had. We ordered 4 different flavors and a Macchiato. Pistachio, Hazelnut, Vanilla and Mango. All 4 tasted fresh and creamy. I was most surprised with the Vanilla and the Mango. The coffee was very good as well. Another perk is The staff speakers English and arevery friendly.

Frankie S.

Yelp
great gelato!! amazing prices for the huge servings and great quality. you have to try the hazelnut chocolate. it's amazing. we went to the location around the corner for the one i originally mapped.

Yelp
This is a super charming gelato shop that sells much more than gelato. Their 2nd location is a block away. I tried a mint pastry that was small, crunchy, layered and very beautiful. It looked like a small hasselbach potato. I also had the gelato in the smallest cone for 4 euros. I got to choose two flavors (milk and hazelnut) and both were exceptionally delicious. They don't have a lot of flavor options but you really don't need more than what they offer because it is excellent. Aside from gelato they sell cured ham, small gifts, pastries and other varieties of Italian inspired foods. The shop is tiny and quaint and is also located walking distance to their other location. The owner was Italian. There are tables inside but space is limited. There are also tables outdoors. I loved that all the flavors were natural and not bright and artificially flavored. The gelato isn't displayed in large decorated mounds like some gelato shops but don't let that lack of display fool you into believing that this is some of the best gelato ever!
google avatar

Rosa C.

Yelp
My mom and I came right in time to grab an empty table. There are only 2 tables so chances are you're going to have to stand/walk while eating your gelato. The servers were very patient, trying to translate the flavours for me and gave me a few flavours to taste test. I got my favourite pistachio and gianduja (hazelnut chocolate) on the cone, which was plenty for 2 people to share. I had high hopes for this place because everyone kept raving about it, but my tastebuds were a bit disappointed. I had better gelato before and I prefer the gelato in Italy better.
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic sfogliotelle and hot chocolate! Hot chocolate is like a thick chocolate soup. Good luck having it own your own hah! Really fun and kitschy place to have some gelato and dessert coffee. The sfogliotelle is like in Naples...quite small though! Got a hot chocolate, sfogliotelle, and espresso with whipped cream (cafe con panna) for 12 euro.
google avatar

Joyce G.

Yelp
Just Ok. I didn't get why the lines were so extensive. Pistachio gelato has pistachio color but lacks in flavor and the other only nut flavor as well. Gianduia was very good tho, so I'd give it three stars for the time I spent in line and for gianduia. I found true pistachio rich flavor gelato at Grom.
google avatar

Julina O.

Yelp
OMG! This is the gelato I was craving!! I love creamy nutty Italian pistachio gelato since I went to Italy when I was 17 y-o. I fell in love it at first bite. Even I came back to Japan, I couldn't forget the lovely time with my love "pistachio gelato". Oh, I REALLY miss you, sweet heart! I was looking for it at gelato shops as much as I can in Japan. HOWEVER! Back then, It was tremendously hard to find it even pistachio itself in Japan, so I decided make my self. Looking for raw pistachios, peel them (nuts shells hurt my nail and finger X'() , boiled them, mushed them, them mixed with cream....YAY! I'VE DONE! but it was not so good for such a huge effort.. Once I moved to the U.S, I had many chance to eat American pistachio ice cream. Every time I found new pistachio, I was so excited "Oh I found you sweet heart" "HOWEVER", those American ice creams usually sold at supermarkets taste totally different. I gave up again... More than 10 years later, I visited Paris. My BF's friend took us to the best gelato shop in Paris named "Pozzetto". I ordered Pistachio gelato without hope. Guess what!! FINALLY I found the one which has been fascinating me for more than 10 years!! "OH, I REALLY missed you, sweet heart!!" Thanks to pozzetto, I had a lovely time in Paris. Ti amo, pozzetto.

Yelp
Was looking for another great ice cream place in Paris after Amorino and Berthillon and stumbled upon Pozzetto! Huge portions, good gelato, and fantastic service, yet ultimately I just don't think there was anything that stood out! I was extremely surprised when I bit into the cone (which I think is super important because the contrast between the creamy gelato and the crunchy cone texture has to be harmonious!) and realized it tasted like a sugar cone even though it looked like a waffle cone! Booooo, I know that sounds like a ridiculous and dumb problem, but I really do think it's important in ice cream to at least know what you're getting! I got the pistachio and gianduja flavors. They were good, but in the end it tasted similar to soft serve - the ice cream melted rapidly and the drips were a bit watered down - I wasn't at all dying to save those drips, whereas if it were baller ice cream I'd be struggling to preserve every last drop! Loved the cute neighborhood though =)
google avatar

Brian I.

Yelp
As much as i like Berthillon, I love this place more. Its a whole in the wall joint but omg its just so fabulously good. The person working behind the store was so nice to us. She let us sample every flavor. So overwhelming to choose from. The sorbet/ice cream is so much more flavorful. It had a light creamy taste to it but packs a punch with the fruit. It literally tasted like fruit on a cone. The cone had a hint of brown sugar, fresh and crunchy. The portion is also larger than Berthillon. Defiantly a must go.

Yelp
Found this place on yelp for places to eat cause of the ratings and we were not disappointed when we ate here. The gelato here was on point, even mixing the flavors, I was still able to distinguish the flavors I chose (pistachio/dark chocolate). They also have a good selection of flavors as other yelpers have noted. While they have a window you can order from, they also have other options when you choose to dine inside, I had a hard time understanding their menu for that option, but I believe you pay a bit more doing so. Lastly, they have options between choosing to eat out of a cone or cup. Overall, my time at this place was short, which is what I like. Staff was very friendly and made sure my order was correct. I recommend anyone with a gelato craving to try this place out, I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed ;)
google avatar

Le L.

Yelp
Best gelato in Paris. Even though the weather is cold during our visit past weekend, but we had to stop by this place to order espresso and gelato. The guy that work there was extremely nice and patient with us as language barrier. He doesn't speak english well and we can't speak french, but he did not ignored us to give us attitudes, he smiled and let us try different flavor of gelato before getting it. They do sell cheese here along with coffee and gelato. They do accept credit card, which is a plus.
google avatar

aaron l.

Yelp
Sooooooo yummy! I recommend the chocolate hazelnut. It's rich and delicious! Service was great!!
google avatar

Annie C.

Yelp
The ice cream here is amazing! Definitely hitting this place up again before we leave Paris!
google avatar

EJ P.

Yelp
Not the best gelato in the world but likely the best gelato in Paris. Certainly better than that Amorino crap! The choc hazlenut was my fave. I thought the other flavors were boring.
google avatar

Colleen G.

Yelp
Great Italian style Ice cream in Paris! The ice cream here is so smooth, it's unreal. I order the chocolate hazelnut, hazelnut and crème, and my boyfriend ordered the citron, strawberry and hazelnut. The flavors did not disappoint. It's a bit expensive at 9€ for 3 balls of ice cream if you dine in. But if you order at the window and take it to go it's significantly less expensive. They also have cute little candies from Italy. I would recommend this place if you're in le marais. Especially if you're wanting something different than typical french style cuisine.
google avatar

Ruth F.

Yelp
A little pricey, but probably some of the best gelato I've had. 9€ to eat in with a sundae.
google avatar

Mar V.

Yelp
Americans you have NO IDEA!!!!! Excellent strawberry and chocolate. SO MUCH FLAVOR! I did try the vanilla which is diff from america but def great with another flavor and not alone. Go!
google avatar

Gerard M.

Yelp
Great little Italian place for gelato and focaccia. Fresh proscuttio and parmesan reggiano. Staff speaks English which is a plus because my French was not good. Staff was great explaining the food which was delicious and fresh. Good for kids and had good number of bar stools and tables.
google avatar

Puneh A.

Yelp
Sincerely the best ice cream in all of Paris! I went there a few times no matter where I was in Paris because their ice cream is THAT delicious. And to add, their customer service is actually friendly and nice, which is hard to find in Paris. That makes the experience even more enjoyable! Will be coming here any and every time I'm in Paris! Highly suggest!!!
google avatar

Betty W.

Yelp
I came across here on the way to La Droguerie du Marais and L'As du Fallafel. On a hot august day, gelato seemed like the way to go. We decided to dine in. We received some stereotypical French hospitality. The gelato was stickier than usual and reminded me of Booza (arabic sticky ice cream). I did not enjoy it. And worse, the price of the gelato doubles when you dine in. If you're taking it to go, gelato is about €5. If you dine in, expect to pay €9.
google avatar

Nima A.

Yelp
Excellent gelato with great, strong and bright flavors. Had the hazelnut and pistachio. Generous portion. Cone was a little soggy though.
google avatar

Ellie P.

Yelp
Gelato has become a popular concept in Paris. Chains abound -- this one is actually good! I think it's a lot better than Amorino, actually. And maybe I don't feel like waiting in line for Berthillion, though Pozzetto can draw a crowd as well. The one word I would use to describe this place is fresh. Their sorbets taste just like what you would expect if you put a bunch of frozen fruit in a blender. And their ice cream somehow manages to have that same quality.
google avatar

A M.

Yelp
My friend who lives in Paris brought me here and told me its the best gelato she's ever had. I don't know that I'd go that far but it was certainly tasty. My chocolate had a good flavor and a wonderful creamy consistency, plus it was a big portion. Although to be honest, I've been to Europe multiple times, eat gelato an average of at least once per day when in Europe and have never, ever had a single bad scoop of gelato in Europe. This is certainly a good place for it though, and its in one of Paris' prettiest neighborhoods, Le Marais.
google avatar

Aidan S.

Yelp
Having been called a coffee snob, I just had to try what is classed as the best coffee shop in Paris. And it certainly lived up to it's reputation! The customer service is excellent, and very friendly, explaining the menu, of which there is one for ice-cream & coffee separately. I ordered a longo, which for those of you who don't know is what we in Ireland would have experienced as an espresso. It also came with a little jug of hot water in case it was still to strong. A proper Italian espresso is much shorter, and stronger, than what we would usually expect. Highly recommended if you're in Paris, and looking for a small laid-back hangout, with really great coffee!
google avatar

Katherine C.

Yelp
Wonderful gelato and friendly workers. Get the hazelnut and dark chocolate! They also spoke English.
google avatar

Anji A.

Yelp
Oh my my my, this place is one of those spots you'd be happy to never want to try any other gelato cafes after it. My well-versed friend took me here after she discovered it on tripadvisor. She swore how delicious it was, and after having had quite a few delicious gelatos in my time, I was skeptical. Especially since she wanted me to try the milk/lait flavor. I was almost going to go straight to my default flavor of hazelnut, but the inner adventurer in me said to try the seemingly boring flavor of milk. Boy was I glad I did. It was absolutely divine. Like nothing I've ever tried before. It was so simple, yet so amazingly delicious. The silky texture mixed with the perfect amount of sweetness was like smooth sensation you just never wanted to end. Other than being yelled at by one of the staff members for taking a picture in the gelateria (he was the only mean one; yes you with the curly hair! It almost cost you a star), everyone else including the owners were terrific. I've never quite had such a detailed, sensory experience of a cold dessert like that before. I've returned a few times since the first visit, and each time, its an amazing thing to enjoy. It doesn't matter if you think this is the best gelato place, or your top 5, its really worth the visit. If only we had those Italians here in Houston....sigh, I suppose it'll have to be a while before I can have those incredible flavors again...Pozetto, you have spoiled us!

Ash S.

Yelp
When I was in Paris I thought I need to try a really great gelato since it was a sunny day as well. I had strawberry and chocolate and I must say they tasted divine! Fresh, creamy and full of flavour! Mouthwatering if i just think about it :) It's quite pricey (4 €) for a small cup of two tiny scoops of ice cream but that's normal in Paris - however I would love to come back again.
google avatar

P K.

Yelp
Try the pistachio gelato, it's damn good. This joint is in the Marais, which is a very beautiful section of Paris. The narrow streets are charming to walk through. This gelateria also makes wicked Italian coffee. Nearby are tons of vintage shops, restaurants and boutiques.
google avatar

Antonia Z.

Yelp
The best gelato in Paris. The lady at the counter was wonderfully helpful and can tell you about Paris and about the way the gelato is made.
google avatar

Viet-Anh H.

Yelp
The look of embarrassment on my two friend's faces left me un-phased. I clutched my little coloured plastic spoon. No doubt it was due to my reaction; a sound more appropriate to the bedroom leaving my mouth even before I could take my next breath that had created this stir. The server chuckled in quiet amusement, but I knew that he knew, that this was a typical response of what pure wickedness does to customers eating the decadent Italian ice cream served here The Pistachio ice cream I chose slowly melted in-between each mouthful, as did my knees at the sheer weight of pleasure encompassed in that paper cup. Life is worth living only if to eat ice cream here.
google avatar

Mia N.

Yelp
My friend introduced Pozetto to me 9 years ago on my first trip to Paris. She claimed it was better than Amorino and I believed her as she's a big foodie. Anyhow, every trip back to Paris = a trip to Pozetto for their gianduja and pistachio gelato. Every trip never fails to put the same familiar tastes and a smile to my face. Gianduja is the bomb! Pistachio this time around was not as intense but still, happy second. €4.90 for a moyene size cup, take away.
