"Here’s what our Inspectors said about Prai Raya (Bib Gourmand): After winning the favour of locals in Phuket, residents of the capital are equally starry-eyed for Prai Raya's southern-style cuisine. The signature dish is the yellow curry noodle dish with large chunks of fresh crabmeat served with coconut milk. To ensure freshness, ingredients like crab, vegetables, and shrimp are brought in weekly from Phuket. Dine indoors in a relaxing atmosphere or al fresco in the charming garden that makes you forget you're in a city." - Mimi Grachangnetara

Lovely restaurant recommended by our hotel. We all loved the yellow crab curry, Prawn Tom Yum with coconut and Crab with chilli and garlic. Very authentic restaurant full of locals. Friendly staff who don’t speak lots of English but it’s not a problem as they know enough and are so helpful. The crab was delicious in each dish. Lovely cool air conditioned restaurant - well lit and with a busy local feel. We will definitely reckoned to our friends.

If you’re looking for authentic Southern Thai cuisine, Prai Raya is an absolute gem. Housed in a beautifully restored colonial-style building, the restaurant exudes charm and elegance, making it the perfect spot for a memorable dining experience. The food is simply outstanding! Their signature mixed seafood in whole coconut is a must-try—rich, creamy, and packed with bold flavors that define Phuket’s culinary heritage. The crab claw fried rice is another standout, perfectly balanced with a crab meat in yellow curry. For those who love seafood, the stir fried river prawn in garlic with Lime and Chili is incredibly fresh, with a zesty kick that keeps you coming back for more. Beyond the delicious food, the service is top-notch. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and happy to recommend dishes based on your spice tolerance. The overall atmosphere, from the historic setting to the warm hospitality, enhances the dining experience. Overall, Prai Raya offers an unforgettable journey into Southern Thai flavors. Highly recommended!

I was skeptical whether the food would be as good as other places I eat southern Thai food. I enjoyed my meal today, when I left, my tongue and lips were on fire and my stomach was feeling peaceful. They definitely make nice food, pleasant decor and serving staff are kind. Will come back and explore other dishes too😁😁

Southern Thai Style restaurant, famous for its yellow crab curry. Originally from Phuket and this lovely place is it’s branch in Bangkok. Love its Chino-Portuguese reminiscence decoration style. Giving southern Thailand vibes when you are in Bangkok. Food is fabulous. Most dishes are pretty spicy but you can always request the chef to adjust spiciness to your liking. Try their recommended menu, very delicious. I personally think when it comes to Southern Curry, this is the best place to be. Staff are nice and welcoming. Ample parking.

We arrived around 20:30, it was not busy. The service was fast and good. The ordered food came within about 20 min. We took the crab curry and small fried fish. The crab curry was just delicious, but spicy 🔥, even fit me. The small fishes, were really nice, crunchy with enough meat on the bone. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and calming after a busy day. Overall exceeded my expectations.

My favourite restaurant in Bangkok. A must visit every trip and this week I’ve been here twice. Crab curry with vermicelli, melinjo leaves with dried shrimp are my two favourites and best in town . End with mango sticky rice!

Very atmospheric southern Thai restaurant. Known for its yellow crab curry. Careful though to ask for not so spicy unless you like it really hot. Ours was a little too hot for us (and we like spicy food!). Tom yum soup was perfect as was vegetable plate and fried squid. Great service.

We had a fantastic meal here, the food was exceptionally good - especially the green curry and the mango sticky rice. The service was outstanding, the staff were very attentive to our table ensuring our drinks were topped up and even bringing extra sauce for our mango sticky rice when they saw we were eating it so quickly! Thank you for a lovely evening 🙏🏼
