Phuket & Southern Thailand’s Big 5

"Here’s what our Inspectors said about Prai Raya (Bib Gourmand): After winning the favour of locals in Phuket, residents of the capital are equally starry-eyed for Prai Raya's southern-style cuisine. The signature dish is the yellow curry noodle dish with large chunks of fresh crabmeat served with coconut milk. To ensure freshness, ingredients like crab, vegetables, and shrimp are brought in weekly from Phuket. Dine indoors in a relaxing atmosphere or al fresco in the charming garden that makes you forget you're in a city." - Mimi Grachangnetara

This restaurant serves food that tastes so good and enticing. If I had to stay longer in Bangkok. I would eat her everyday. Price is reasonable and the presentation of their dish is beautiful. Very respectful and welcoming staff. We had lunch and dinner here. That good.

Michelin rated in 2018 and 2023. The story of Prai Raya is about preserving grandmas cooking from Phuket, according to the menu. I ordered the spicy watermelon salad, the pork/shrimp cake, the spicy crab yellow curry and a coconut. Trust me this IS SPICY. If you can not handle Thai chilis, you need to ask for mild. I ate here by myself and finished everything (I am a tall guy). Beautiful and clean property, authentic and delicious food. And to the lady who left a one star review because you went to Thailand and had issues ordering in YOUR language and not theirs, you need a reality check princess. You’re in THEIR country, eating THEIR grandmas recipes.

Delicious Thai food. All the classic dishes, so full and rich of flavour. Airy spacious venue, with outdoor seating, nice portion sizes. Can’t wait to got again. Menu so great, couldn’t pick!

In Nana, an unexpected real good restaurant where you can eat real Thai food cooked and not rushed for tourists. I especially recommend the crab meat but the spups were also amazing. Definitely recommend also for the treasonable price and a real restaurant ambiance, no pretend “street food”.

We ordered pandan chicken and bitter beans with prawns. Great taste! Lovely front yard, interior decor, serve-wares which gave me sort of like a kind of colonial-peranakan vibes. Staff were visibly nervous it seems but warmed up nicely. However, price may be on the higher side for Thai. Still, a quaint place for a cosy meal with friends.

Quiet vintage restaurant serving top notch classic Thai dishes. Food tastes amazing at reasonable prices. You can get most of Bangkok's highlights here: crab omelette, giant river prawns, grilled seafood, etc.

I didn’t expect to find such authentic Southern Thai food in a cozy, Thai-style setting. The dishes turned out to be delicious and flavorful, with prices that are very reasonable for the quality. I also really appreciate the restaurant’s design and the relaxing music that completes the atmosphere.

Very good food and not too pricey. Wide veriety of authentic southern dishes. Staffs are friendly and attentive. But there are few desserts.
