Praia de Santa Mónica

The best beach in Cap Verde in my opinion. You will probably be just yourself with no one around, the waters are crystal clear you can spot some fish swimming around you. Unfortunately there was a big hotel complex under construction. I hope the government will ban further building expansion.

The most stunning beach I’ve even seen. Had a quad bike tour for the day, stopped off here, swam in the sea and saw a shark breach! What an amazing experience!

Beautiful beach with nice sand. Good to take a walk alongside.

Unquestionably the most beautiful 22km long empty beach in the world. Stunning white sand and fabulously turquoise water make it a must if on Boa Vista. You can drive (4X4 only) right to the beach and walk 100 meters to the water. Playing in the crashing waves is so much fun for anyone but the small ones.

Well, what to say about this beach? A truly, truly unforgettable experience. If you do one thing in Boa Vista, come visit this as of yet untouched, kilometres-long piece of paradise. I found myself entirely alone on an expansive beach that reminds one of the Caribbean or Maldives. The water was clear as can be and excellent to swim in. Here's to hoping this untouched bliss will remain a hidden gem for years to come and that hotels don't clog up this incredible place on earth.

Magical natural beach. In the top 5 of the World most beautiful beaches! Amazing place, nice waves. Such a shame that 8 hotels are going to be build on this beautiful beach, making it a mess with tourists !

18 - 20km of pristine, untouched and magical beach. Pictures certainly do no justice! The sand dunes also make for great (read instagrammable pictures) especially when the weather is good. You can get there by renting a car for 60 Euros or with an organized tour for 80Euros. Pro tip: It might get cold, so take an extra piece of clothing along.

Only word to describe this place is surreal! Miles of untouched sand, truly beautiful. Will be a huge shame if it gets built on but hopefully not as it’s a Turtle breeding ground. It’s a must see (asap) before it’s spoilt!
