This place has wonderful food. Apple BBQ wings were sticky and perfectly tender and sweet. Fried pickles were average, they were not as crispy as i would have liked. Reuben rolls were kind of the same way. Blackened Chicken vodka pasta was very good, moist, and deliciously sauces. Korean street tacos were nicely balanced. The pork belly bowl was very comforting. Cajun mac is also very comforting. The faroe island salmon had wonderful sauce and chili crisp. The root beer was very good. Almost butterscotch. Beers were average.

This is a beautiful spot. The architecture and style of this restaurant is very appealing. The food is everything you expect it to be with the way the place looks. It's great. I had absolutely no complaints when I showed up there was barely anybody there so service was great and food was fast. I would definitely recommend stopping if you're hungry and close by!

Nice bar/restaurant by the river. Service was immpeccable. Our server constantly checked on us. Huge list of rotating beers, all avaialble in a flight for tasting. The Rockford burger was good but spicy, gyro was a bit dry, and taquitos also lacking in flavor. Fish n chips were good. Nice place overall.

Visited this place this weekend and was SHOCKED with their Rockford Restaurant Week menu and what they can offer! The Bavarian Pork Chops—one of their course menu was probably one of the best pork chop steaks I’ve ever tried in my life. As a Rockford local who has tried all of their menu before, I really hope they could keep this as one of their regular! The “Beeramisu” was an interesting dessert as well, with a hint of sweetness and a full of strong “beer-ness.” Also, cool vibes & def a great place to dine out in the weekends!

Lovely upscale bar-restaurant with great outdoor seating! I’ve been here many times over the years, but the most recent was to celebrate my cousins’ birthdays. I ordered the Peacock Punch which was both gorgeous and sweet and fruity. And I also ordered the American Burger, medium well, no tomato. The burger was pretty good, I think there might have been a bit too much mayo as it kept trying to slide out of the bun. The potato wedges were very nice as well. I think I’d get something a little more adventurous next time, but it was still a lovely dinner.

All was perfect, except get rid of that damn "service fee". No reason for that. Food was excellent. Atmosphere on the river dock was wonderful. Staff was exceptional and so customer focused! We will be back. Everyone was sweet to the dog also. Very appreciative. While sitting on the dock, we could here tthe water splashing below to give a great outdoor experience. Get out there before Winter.

The Prairie Street Brewery in downtown Rockford IL is a must visit and experience location. It is located along the waterfront, providing a lot of outdoor seating, event space in several locations, and the service is very friendly and focused on the customer experience. The food is classic brewery food, with a local touch , and providing several healthy options. The Mediterranean specials were excellent. Very well balanced, excellent temperature, with the right flavors, and very good quality. I was definitely very pleased with the price and food combination. I did not have a chance to taste the beer selections. I will definitely be back. Parking is also a strong point for the location. Plenty of parking. My personal score is a 4.9.

Girl Dinner for the win, went here before a concert and oh my god so good. Cocktail was so nice, fries were absolutely scrumptious. My parents got a salmon poke bowl & brisket cheesesteak and we ate in SILENCE. I was not hungry and my heart broke realizing i wouldn't be able to enjoy the food to its proper level. Vibes were gorg, right on the water like??? okay queen 10/10 delish. I WOULD drive an hour and a half here again

I had the pleasure of stopping here while performing my work related duties I didn't dine here but I was inside and saw the inside , bar area , met a wonderful hostess named Megan and I have to tell you what a wonderful looking place. They even have an outside eating area that is on the water (pics to be attached) I snuck many a peak at the food dishes as they passed me by on their way to their perspective tables and everything looked great. I plan on making a special trip with friends on our Harley's to have lunch when I'm not on the work clock but from what I saw this is a must stop if you're in the area. I may not have dined here but I did spend enough time here to see everything I needed to see to give it a thumbs up review. This was a cool spot to grab lunch when in the area. I liked that the menu had such a variety of options - this would be a great spot for a group of people because I bet everyone would be able to find something they like! I had the Cuban sandwich and sweet potato fries and really enjoyed it!

Big place, has both indoor and outdoor seating and also has other venues rooms for things like parties/showers, etc. cool ambiance. Food was pretty decent. Average prices

Came to the venue for a baby shower. What a phenomenal repurposing of an old factory. Rockford has done a great job not only with this venue but also with a hotel where they repurposed an old factory. This venue had a set up going on for a wedding a bar/brewery/restaurant and I saw two different baby showers being conducted and nobody was in each other's way. Nobody would be interrupted by each other's venue. What a great facility highly recommended. I did fly in for this trip but if I ever have a need to do something in that area hands-down, that would be my choice.

The brewery/restaurant is beautiful and so classy looking. The food was very fresh and tasty. Service was very prompt and friendly. Definitely recommend.

Great service, great food. Loved the Cobb salad. Everything was fresh, the salad dressing was a light vinegarette which complemented the chunks of blue cheese. Avocado and egg were delicious. The bacon and ham gave it a snowy flavor. Really great Cobb!

We had a beer this afternoon in the Dockside taproom of Prairie St Brewing Co... Robert was super nice and brought us samples even from up stairs on Nitro. What a total gem !! Green eyes too . The pretzel was warm with gobs of cheesy sauces , the music is not too loud ,I could even take a brief work call, and talk to my husband. The IPA was not Hazy which was a nice change. And the Irish stout was malty deliciousness. You will for sure enjoy the view if the River with a bar vibe ... not divey xxxooo

I'll set the stage by saying I just went for beer today, the dark mild specifically. It is pretty good. My issue was with billing. I saw a service charge on the bill of 3.9%. That appeared as a whopping 35 cents on the $10.00 bill (2 beers x $5.00 = good beer at a good price). I am used to seeing surcharges anymore when I use a credit card, but I had paid with a $20 bill before even looking at the tab. When I asked, I was told that it appeared on all the menus, as it was meant to defray the cost of their ingredients so they didn't have to change their menu prices. The bartender said they could remove it if I wished. I pointed out that I had been given $9.00 even as my change. I pointed out to the bartender that I had paid with a 20 and given the bill amount asked how much my change should have been. The bartender said they wouldn't do the math in their head because the computer is always right. I said it clearly was not always right because 3.9% of $10 is actually 39 cents, not 35 cents. Another employee, who I inferred was a manager or hostess then got involved. I pointed out that I hadn't received any coins as change. She said that they only have quarters anyway. She added that if the surcharge is below 50 cents, they round down and give whole dollar change . She said if the surcharge is above 50 cents they round up and the restaurant keeps the difference and they still give whole dollar change. She said I should have been given another dollar in change and laid a single before me (it lay there when I left in addition to the tip I'd already given). I pointed out that the 35 cents was not the issue, rather it was the impression that customers might be the victim of theft that was the issue. I asked if that was concerning to them, but they had no answer. In summary, the beer was good, the employees seem unable to do simple math (but the ever-correct computer can't either) so it might behoove you to check your bill before paying.

Came here with a group after mini golf. It was a Saturday evening, we were all seated outside. We came pretty late and were told the kitchen was about to close but the staff were kind enough to ask the kitchen to give us an extra 10-15 minutes to place our orders. We were able to get our orders in but as soon as we did, the storm started to come our way. So we all ran inside and thankfully there was a table big enough to fit our group. Happy to say we were safe from the storm, and we were able to enjoy the food and drinks we ordered. I shared the fish and chips with my sister and I thought it was pretty good! The fish was very meaty rather than bready. I had a fruity cocktail that I quite enjoyed. Definitely would like to go back again during the day so I can enjoy the river view!

"Dockside Live" Monday nights outside Prairie Street Brewing Company is what brought us here tonight. Great food menu. Plenty of seating venues inside and out. Phenomenal service. We were Surrounded with Ambient Music from "The Belle Weather" tonight. Beautiful cello and strings of a Indie Rock group. Their sounds made the atmosphere here great. Only local music event found on GoRockford.com tonight. Happy to join you here. Really enjoyed the soulful sounds and setting especially being down by the river. Missed this about my hometown. Good to be home again! Thank you

The food is fantastic Jessica was our server and she was outstanding. She helped me find a great beer and guided us through the menu. What a gem! We will be back

Checked out this brewery in Rockford located in a historic building. It's one of the hot spots around here. Prairie Street is easy to find because you know what street it's on. Has a ton of beers to choose from. There's also food including the unexpectedly good choices of poke bowls and other stuff. After looking up good places to go, we came here. If you like history then you'll love it. This building was the home of a brewery in the 1800s that closed a long time ago, and now it's being reused. A ton of beers to get. It's about $7 a pint. A lot of these are seasonal, which means you have to come back. The best one of these we had was the Peach Wheat. Smooth and not too fruity. The food was the big surprise though. It has stuff like Poke Bowls. It's about $14 for a bowl full. Has sriracha aioli, but vegans can just get sriracha and it's still good of course. There's also avocados, carrots, edamame, radish, rice, sesame seeds, and shallots. Choose a protein. We got tofu. Other food includes a few salads and lighter bites. There's also tacos. Has a ton of beers. It's what they do best, but be sure to also get some of the better than expected food. There's kind of an Asian theme with the poke bowls and the Korean tacos, with a few options for vegetarians.

Food: The Cuban sandwich was really good and very big (ended up being two meals for me!). Cheese curds, yes please! Those things are going to be the death of me, mark my words! Deep fry a piece of cheese? What else is there to say!? Everyone else at our party also commented that the food was solid. Atmosphere: Sit outside on a nice day, it's right on the river. It was a little hot when we went, so ask for shade if you do sit on the water. I could see where this would be a great location after work with a few colleagues because they have some games inside too. Price: Middle of the road, expect about $15-20 for a meal plus drinks. They have a good assortment of beers rather inexpensive, but I didn't try any. Service: Our server was nice, no complaints there. The only comment I have is, again, if people are sitting outside, see if they can get a shade for their table if they want one. Overall: Cool location for this place and the food was good. Great place for an after work meeting or family dinner. If I am ever in Rockford again, I'll try out some more options!

Great find in Rockford. Good beer selection and Dunkle was great! Extensive food menu. I had the "smoked" chicken sandwich. Don't believe that to be smoked but still tasted ok. I should count off for that but don't. Great atmosphere. Very historic looking. I would recommend streamlining the food menu and make several items great because the foundation is there. And again, great beers.

The food was amazing, loved the beer selection and the patio on the river is wonderful. We had good service and would definitely go again.

Stopped in here around the holidays and really enjoyed our time. We started the meal off with a pretzel and cheese curds. We had burgers, chicken, and pork belly and mashed potato bowls. All of it was delicious!

The ambiance is lovely and the staff nice, but I had a salad that was so doused in dressing that I had to pour it onto a plate. It was barely edible but would have been delicious if properly dressed. It would have been nice if management had acknowledged but nobody addressed it.

The manager is the worst human I have ever met, she is extremely mean and would not serve us because we were standing on the pier when our server took our order.

It was restaurant week and super busy on the lower level. Still got a seat quickly at the bar and there were 5 of us. Fast service! Great drinks and beer. Food was good. Nothing over the top amazing but 100% will be back again. Pretty average bar food.

My husband found this while we were on our way to Chicago. Stopped in there and it was so fun! The whole place is beautiful. The things we ordered were so good! They have gluten-free buns and I got their burger. They had homemade potato wedges That went with it which were delicious. And I also got the hummus platter starter, which was absolutely delicious! They even gave me gluten-free pita bread! Was chewy but so good! All the veggies that came with it were fresh from local farmer and the carrots were absolutely delicious. We will absolutely come here again and will come out of our way to eat here. Also had a really great waiter!! This place was so much fun. My husband got a flight of different beers and he really liked those.

Excellent food and ambiance. Appreciated the immediate seating basement option with the same menu, since even at 3pm on. Sat there was a wait to be seated upstairs without reservations. A little pricey though.

We LOVE this place. The food and beer are awesome. We look forward to sitting on the patio this summer, hopefully with our two, very well-behaved dogs.

I found this place on Yelp, and I'm so glad we stopped on our way through town! This brewery/restaurant is in an old renovated industrial building. The exterior alone is cool, with great views of the river. I'm sure sitting on the patio in the summer is awesome! The interior is huge and immaculately decorated in that modern industrial style. Seriously, even the bathrooms look amazing! The menu here has a lot of interesting options. They even offer extra seasonal specials! Everything we ate was good, although I have to say my son's Mac and cheese might have been my favorite. I also enjoyed the variety of craft beers they make themselves. We had a flight of 8, and I liked most of them, which is rare for me. If we lived nearby, I would definitely be a regular here. This place is a must go!

Good Ambiance, Good Service, BUT... It took over 50 minutes for a simple cheeseburger order.

This brewery looks great and the food/ craft beers are excellent. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff made me feel right at home. If you are in the area, stop by for a few selections. I promise you won't be disappointed.

The restaurant was loud and so were the customers. We went for the advertised walleye and all they had was blue gill which did taste good but I was looking forward to the walleye. The service was ok but the bill was quite incorrect. This seems to be a place for young people who enjoy being loud.

Well, I don't know where to go with this review. It's a mixed bag based off last night. I don't necessarily want to harp on a restaurant with GF items in fear they'll simply remove any possible options for others moving forward, but at the same time... having GF and then being served gluten is disheartening. Ultimately my experience last night comes down to a training opportunity. I get that many people don't even comprehend what gluten is, but you don't have that luxury in the food service industry or as a person with celiac, crohn's, or NCWS. I ordered a cider, because... GF. Ordered the Mac n cheese with GF noodles, was informed they ran out of GF. So, I ordered a burger with GF bun and potato wedges. I asked if the wedges were fried in same oil as breaded items like chicken or cheese curds, because that voids the GF aspect of the natural potato. I was ensured they're baked and not fried, and GF. But, here's the thing--if they are seasoned, depending on the seasoning, they could have gluten. Well, got food delivered to the table, ate a wedge and a nice young person comes darting to our table to tell me they're not GF and has another order coming. I'm thankful for this person or my life would have been a far more miserable existence. (I did have a reaction, but luckily one wedge contained less gluten than say six wedges). I'm pretty much resolved to the fact that NOWHERE IN ROCKFORD IS SAFE FOR PEOPLE WHO CANNOT INGEST GLUTEN. This place was excellent the first go around and I thought I'd be safe. I voiced my concerns to my server before ordering, but again... training opportunity. I don't think they meant to gluten me; I just don't think the knowledge and understanding is there. And actually, there is ONE place that has never gluten-ed me--the new Beef A Roo in Edgebrook. So, go there. Order GF. You'll be safe.

I visited Prairie Street with a friend and we split the Fish n' Chips ($21) and a beer flight (pricing depends on the beers chosen). Portion-wise, our entree was exactly enough for two people. We split 4 fish fillets (of varying sizes), ~6 thick fries, and a small cup of coleslaw. The fish itself was tasty, but the breading was soft and quickly fell off. The fries were quite dry, but the coleslaw was well-made (not too wet or too dry). The beers in our flight were sizable and there were plenty of options. I recommend the Prairie Street IPA. There is ample seating here, both indoors and out. If you're sat outside, you get a nice view overlooking the river. Our waitress was very kind. It took about 45 minutes to receive our full order.

Ok we sat outside and service was a bit slow to start with. But once we got a server she was great. The food was outstanding. I had the Philly cheese steak and it was delicious. My husband had the fish and chips and he also said it was very good. The portions were nice size. We ordered the giant pretzel and it was delicious. I tried the beer flight. The beers were all good and tasted very different which is a good thing. The view on the water was also very nice. Love the ambiance indoors and outdoors

We popped in here for lunch on our way to a wedding north of Rockford. This was our second attempt trying out PSB, our first was thwarted by a terrible snowstorm on our way home from Galena. It's a really cool building on the water. Apparently it started out as a brewery and then transformed into a bunch of different things before full circling back into a brewery. We sat inside, but there's an outdoor space as well as a game room area which also have food and drink. There's also an event space. It was the food menu that really caught our eye. Lots of places have good beer, but finding something other than standard bar fare isn't as common. I got the shrimp tacos and husband the smoked chicken sandwich. Our server was friendly and made some great food and drink recommendations. She also knew a lot about the building too. We're not too familiar with the Rockford area, but it was nice to find a local business in the midst of so many chains as we drove into town. If you're looking for something good to drink and eat, give it a shot.

Everything about this place exceeded our expectations. We were just looking for a centrally located and comfortable restaurant with decent food to gather our large adult family group. We ended up with delicious food in a calm but fun atmosphere AND an excellent server who managed everyone's orders and checks. Bravo!

I visit Rockford for work and just started staying downtown as there is finally a hotel that isn't on the outskirts. Beers are always true to style. The Prairie Street IPA can hold its own when it comes to piney IPAs. The Midwest IPA is also tasty, a bit more rounded and smooth. I tried a salad off of the seasonal menu. Loads of summery greens, beets, blue cheese, pistachios...all good. A bit overpowered by the white ends of scallions. Chicken was there but didn't add or subtract. Tonight there were good 80s tunes playing. Parking is a bit sparse but I walked so no big deal.

We decided to try this restaurant based on the Yelp reviews. There is no where on the website of the restaurant or within the Yelp reviews about making a reservation or if this is preferred. Upon arriving we were told that they were booked for the evening, we could sit at the L shaped bar only or go downstairs to a lower level area. Luckily we found 2 seats at the bar. The other diners around us were very friendly. We will try this again in the warmer weather to sit outside along the river. I'll definitely make a reservation next time to ensure we have proper seating available.

On a hot sunny day, we came here and sat outside too perfect weather, drinks, and good food. The pictures don't do the view justice. We were just passing through, but I can tell you if we lived here, we would come here all the time. Wow, they didn't have a gluten-free beer, their menu was very well marked for those who are celiac but they had many options that were gluten-free !! I got the Poké bowl and it was great and gluten-free

The pretzel was average. The pulled pork was juicy and a little spicy. The BBQ sauce had a nice flavor. The wings were good. The Rock the Dock and Peacock Punch are premixed drinks that didn't have too strong of tastes but went down easy and were priced reasonably. I would come back.

Food is average price, I had the drunken Cuban sandwich and it was delicious. For my side I chose cheese curds. Which I was told was an up charge. It definitely was? $5 for maybe 6-7 cheese curds. They were good but I'd think twice before ordering them again. My husband had a burger and chose a side salad as his side. $2.25 for ice berg lettuce and a few shavings of carrots. My husband also had a flight of beer. He feels the beer quality has decreased since our last visit of probably a year. Our dinner guests ordered margaritas with salt . Come to find out, salt is additional charge of a $1 per margarita. Margaritas were served in glasses that most places use for drinks on the rocks. Ambiance is open and noisy.

Contacted PSB to have a reception after my son's baptism. Due to illness we had to cancel twice. The PSB team was so kind and allowed us to reschedule both times for no additional fee! The food was great and the room was exactly as promised. I will definitely be using PSB again if I need to host another event.

First time discovering this place, very late I know. The service for both for dinner and lunch was exceptional, from the host/hostess to the service team. The building and architectural are unreal and love the fact many of the existing building wood and steel were incorporated. The apps - we started with pretzels and curds, the curds I have to say were some of the best I have ever had; I have had plenty. The Mains - the 815 cheesesteak was fantastic (it is not philly-style for those wondering) but better. The American burger was a great portion and was appointed very well. Kiddos portions are great as well! The last comment, being from San Diego or the land of IPAs, the IPA is one of the best I have ever tasted. I will be ordering online......hopefully you ship!

Had dinner here Sat. night and loved the whole evening. Beautiful location on the river with dock dining and interior dining options. We had fish, burger, salad, chips appetizer and chocolate cake dessert. Everything was delicious. Service was stellar. And the home brewed beer and root beer were also excellent. We can't wait to return and bring some friends to introduce them to this venue.

We had a very enjoyable weekend lunch at Prairie Street Brewing. We selected this location because our friends are vegan and we are not- and they had a great variety of meals for all of us. The vegans at the table started with the hummus platter as an appetizer, and we had the not so Irish eggrolls. The hummus platter was huge and they were happy with it. Our eggrolls were incredible and I would highly recommend them! For entrees, our friend got the green burger- he said it was the best house-made vegan burger he has ever had- which was wonderful. My husband got the Rockford burger and loved it, I chose the turkey club and it was huge and delicious. Our server was wonderful with our group, we had a baby as part of the group and she was wonderful with her. The vibes of the restaurant are also very nice- it is a cool old building, with lots of space. It might be a little tricky to locate because it doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside, but I was very pleased with the entire experience.

Cool old building, and spacious inside. Neat views, especially in summer. The food is good and not over priced. The beer is good. Service was good. I had the Fish & Potato Wedges that were indicated as a house specialty. Generous portion and terrific wedges. The Cod breading needs to be either fried longer at a lower temp or less at a higher temp. The breading was flavorful but a little soft and may I say mushy. Not a deal breaker, but they fell apart when trying to cut it into pieces or pick it up by hand to dip into the terrific tartar sauce. The wife's Cuban Sandwich pleased her. She loved the potato wedges too. They really were the star of the show. I was really pleased with the house IPA. I will bring home growlers of that. We will gladly come back for more beer and food.

Kind of a weird review. Food, beer and service is actually pretty good. But the prices have gone way up over the last few years. This I kind of understand because everything has everywhere (ThanksBiden). But tonight I went there with friends and there was a service fee added onto everyone's bills. I do understand the new credit card fees crappy restaurants have started to add but this was on a cash bill! The friendly server said it was a new adjustment for food prices!! I guess they forgot they already did that for everything on the menu and pints of beer My volleyball team went almost every Sunday night. Sorry we're done!! Management. If you update your pricing policies let me know and I'll give you the stars you deserve.

We had our wedding reception at PS in September 2024. We had a previous venue booked but ended up switching to PS after we had problems with the other venue. Everything was perfect for our day and the staff were awesome to work with. They were responsive, flexible, and straight-forward in their approach which helped prevent sticker shock or confusion after we were locked into the contract. We really appreciated where they went above and beyond to help make our day special for us. The venue was perfect for our wedding size and we got some great photos both inside and out. And the food was awesome - all of our guests were really impressed with apps and dinner.
