Pra Lees

This was a suggestion which I wish I hadn’t taken. You order your food then go in another room to wait to be called. The female taking the order seemed as if she had something better to do, no greeting NOTHING! I had to prompt her to let her know I wasn’t there for a staring match. The table I sat at was falling down so I had to move then someone came in and asked everyone to clear out the room for a few. There was really no room to wait in the small section we placed our order in but ok. I ordered a salmon wrap, which I’m used to it being cold but this was oily and warm. It was off putting to eat a bland oily tortilla but it was what it was. The fries were cold and bland as well. I didn’t dare taste the salmon bites. We had to wait so long for the lemonade that I was done eating by the time it was ready.

I had a really good experience at Pra Lee's. I'm from California and wanted to eat authentic New Orleans food and I wasn't disappointed. I had the hot sausage po'boy and grilled potatoes. I tasted the fried shrimp and it was very well seasoned.

I arrived a hour after they opened. They didn't have yams or the pineapple lemonade. The ordered took over 40mins. The burger was tasteless. The crawfish mac and cheese was not good. Nor was the green beans and corn. It tasted like it came from a can. The fried salmon was excellent

I went yesterday & tried the hibachi bowl. I had salmon,shrimp, crawfish, veggies & rice. It is delicious 😋 it comes with a sweet & somewhat spicy sauce that sets it off 😋. It cost $21.99. It's very filling & enough for 2 people. They have a good mix of food items on their menu,so check them out.

Food was good but was given molded sun bread for my salmon feeling. So disappointing. People get seriously sick like that. I spent over $60 but after finding mold I played it safe and threw it all out.

Native New Orleanian that lives away but visits frequently and places like Pra-Lee's are a must stop. The food is always on par, the service is as well and even in today's tight economy the prices are fair.

Ordered over the phone. They told me "you have to pay over the phone when when calling in a phone order." I ordered 3 burger and fries.She told me it would be 15 -20 minutes. I went there 5 minutes later to wait. Someone came there and placed a oxtail meal. Their order was ready before mines. My order took 40 minutes. Food was good but 40 minutes is too long!

LISTEN…..THIS WAS BUSSSINNNNNNN ! it’s a shirt drive from the Quater and WORTH IT YOU HEAR ME ! A brotha was in the Kitchen CHEFFIN’ it UP (Whippin) We are visiting from Houston and we have a lot of food options there BUT THIS SHXT RIGHT HERE was GREAT ! The crawfish Mac was oooweeee and they didn’t skimp on the crawfish. We also had the fried salmon and pasta AMAZING ! We have never had fried Salmon before. All the seafood in HTX they are not doing this. Yall definitely need to come to HTX we will be waiting !

The food ok. Im not sure if it's what I ordered but the rice was supposed to have crab meat in it. I didn't see or taste crab meat. So they charge you for something thats not even there. Their prices are already kinda pricey. This would not be my first pick. They make the plate look good but don't be fooled.

Never disappoints everything is good . Drinks are always great nice and sweet very refreshing..

Out of 6 meals that we ordered from this place, only 1 thing was good , and that's the fried salmon . I think them saying they have the best fried salmon is their strategy to getting people in the restaurant. The hibachi bowl was horrible. It was really a joke to even name it that. A hibachi bowl is supposed to come with fried rice... this one came with hard parboiled rice . The red beans and rice were probably the worse I've ever tried. Very dry. And again, with parboiled rice. The wings were slathered in sauce but the inside of the wings were BEYOND DRY. My daughter was literally choking . The salad was just ... confusing . And then they put a flower on top of everything to make the plates look presentable. That didn't help at all. I spent $98 in this place and left feeling extremely bamboozled. I won't be going back and you should reconsider. The only time I take the time to make a review is when I TRULY did not enjoy something , so this review right here, is REAL. Oh, and last but not least.. we tried to eat outside. But as soon as we opened our food, flies literally attacked us. We had to go back inside. There was no way to eat outside. One thing this place did inspire me to do, was open a restaurant. If they can sell the stuff they're selling, I can FOR SURE make it in the restaurant industry

Food was bland and most of the menu items weren't available upon opening. There are no prices on the menu and the receptionist didn't explain pricing and what was not available. The best thing about this place was the decor.........save your money

This rating is based on the fact that I flew into town on my day off of work to give this restaurant a try only to find out that they weren't open. According to their listed hours they were supposed to be open. So you can imagine the disappointment, this is the first place that I hit after checking into my hotel and I was only there for the day so I don't know what's going on with this place. Evidently the health inspector was there the same day because he/she left a note on the door that they were there and couldn't get in either. I flew all the way from North Carolina to try his food and I've been following him for a few years on IG. So pi$$ed.

Haven't been here in awhile but I love the new location it is beautiful. Very inviting and the staff greets you as you enter. They really make you feel welcome. Will definitely be back.

Good people even better food. First time eating here and I must ask myself why have I waited so long. It closes at 7 so you better get there early. I would recommend the Rasta pasta it has a spice to it with the fried catfish. Only disappointment I had was the shrimp plate....it came with 6 small shrimp. Other then that The food was really delicious.

Small portions, corn taste straight out the can with no seasoning. Salmon was fried good but flavorless. My friends drink tasted like syrup and chicken was cold. The service was 1/5, no prices listed and lady working behind counter was rude about it.

Food wasn't t fresh and hot and been waiting for more than 45 min , they could do better ... they need new workers or sum

I tried PraLees for the first time today and the food was really good! Both of the guys who were working were very friendly and sweet. He explained the menu items before I chose. They're operating off of a limited menu for now, but it's still a lot of choices! I got the fried salmon (!) so good - I had never had or seen that before, Brussels sprouts, crawfish macaroni and salad. The salmon is great with the crawfish sauce from the Mac and the sauce for the Brussels sprouts is good too. They hd some praline cupcakes on the counter that looked delicious, but i didn't try one. You have to wear a mask to go in and it's take out only, but you can wait inside while they prepare your food. *Make sure you're going to Frenchman St location because when I put the name in maps, it took me to its old, closed location.

Best fried salmon bites ever! Periodt. I ran into them at the 2022 Gumbo Festival at Louis Armstrong Park and I'm already tryna get back to NOLA for round two!

Don't let IG pictures and likes fool cloud your judgment. Let's get the pricing out the bag first, they're super over priced. A loads of rice on a plate isn't worth $45. I hate to say this but I'm highly disappointed! This was a surprise visit for me and I saw the IG pics like you did and my eyes where like . The food was dry but it had flavor. It seemed like they over cooked my food two times. Great customer service and they're willing to help you with the menu options. Parking! What parking...it's like 2-3 parking spaces (it's New Orleans). The location is what it is. Google it but the street it's on can knock you wheel alignment off.

Everything everything everything. I had Rasta pasta and catfish. Haven't had it better anywhere else. Just wonderful!

My wife and I came here on Saturday since it's been on our to do list. It was very hot inside no AC or Ceiling fans inside. I ordered a sprite and was giving no ice with my order which was room temperature and my wife ordered a drink which never came and she had to get her refund of $4.00 back. I was not impressed with this place whatsoever. The lobster was on could have used more season to my liking. The corn was seasoned ok and the broccoli was wayyy overcooked. If you decide to visit I suggest you call your order in first.

This restaurant is one of my all-time favorites it's owned by black young brothers. Pra_lees has been holding it down since to Saint Bernard location, the food is hot and fresh to order in the chefs are friendly and welcoming. I will recommend anyone that's coming to New Orleans to visit the small family business. By the way the shrimp wraps are to die for.

Food was incredible!! Everything was good. Everything! The stuffed burger was so good. The meat is seasoned and then stuffed with goodness. It came dressed with tomatoes and I don't even eat tomatoes but I ate them that day. Burger was that good! Fried fish was seasoned and flavorful. And the batter doesn't come off like it does at some other places. Even the fries were great. They're kinda garlicky and delicious. The crab rice was delicious as well. Now it is a little warm inside and a fairly small space so I recommend getting your food to go. I'll definitely be back. My new favorite food spot!

Great Find!!! Will definitely go there again. Just like home cooking. The shrimp wrap hit my mouth with different flavors of awesomeness. Hot wings was flavored with just the right spice. I never had romein like that and will absolutely get more. Love it!!!!!!!

Giving this place 3 stars! The gumbo was delicious full of flavor & seafood. The grill cheese on the other hand was burnt and wasn't great. Service was a bit slow. But it's new so I guess it'll suffice for now. Also I didn't know anyone that was working around my food had hairnets or any type of hair covering to protect the food from hair. Will I return? IDK maybe Maynot. We'll see the next time I'm in the city.

I had the Chicken Quesadillas and my daughter had the Buffalo Wings. Service was great. Food was good. My daughter's just wished the wings were spicier. I wish my fries were seasoned. I think I you have to request it. Definitely going back.

One word, DELICIOUS !!! The staff is very nice and knowledgeable About the menu ! My wife and I are new to the area and hood friend recommend we Tried it for ourselves and again DELICIOUS!!!

First time here and babyyy let me tell you !! We will definitely be back ! Ordered salmon tacos, crawfish mac and cheese, catfish on a bun with fries and the pineapple lemonade. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING ! The owner was there and greeted everyone and the chief 'chicken grease' really put in that work

The food was amazing. Big props to the chefs in the back. They make top tier food. My only suggestions is the floor was pretty sticky. Minor thing but for a small establishment that's really making moves in the city I'd suggest keeping the restaurant to top notch quality. They also got my fiancée's order incorrect. We ordered a grilled shrimp salad and they gave her a fried salmon salad. I mean technically, she ended up getting a deal I guess because the salmon costs more than the shrimp but she was really looking forward to the shrimp salad. I got the main entree of my choice of protein (I chose fried salmon), side dish (I chose crawfish Mac and cheese) and vegetables (I got a double serving of corn). It was amazing. The crawfish Mac and cheese is elite and the fried salmon was outstanding. They advertise lobster as an option for the entree but ran out when we got there. I will say the menu is a bit confusing because they don't show the entree special on their main menu and they do have it on their magic marker board menu but they don't classify the price nor the price differential in protein (for instance, the fried catfish entree special is much cheaper than the lobster entree special). Having that classified would be helpful. The place is popular and rightfully so, so the order area can fill up pretty quick. There's a big dining area but I believe it was closed off when we went. I will definitely come back for the food as it is top tier. Support black businesses!

Delicious shrimp wrap!!! They even have other different wraps options! I inquired about a spinach or whole wheat option and was presented with a delicious to go wrap thank you!

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and let me say I was a lil disappointed when I did. I visited on a Saturday and it was HOT! No AC/ no ceiling fans blowing. I decided to wait it out and eat my food in the car but after ordering 2 lobster plates with crab rice, broccoli, and corn at 2:59 pm and not getting the food until 3:55, I was too tired and hungry to wait so decided to eat there. By this time the crowd had left so it wasn't as hot as before. I had a sprite and large pineapple lemonade on the order. The sprite was room temp so I asked for a cup of ice that I never received. I went back three times for the ice and my pineapple lemonade. Each time the young later at the register assured me it was coming. Needless to say I finished my food and no ice and no lemonade ever came. I asked for a refund of the lemonade and the young later and a gentleman that I presume to be the owner just gave me my $4.00 without an explanation of why I never received the lemonade or ice for that matter. If they were out of ice and pineapple lemonade they should have just communicated that at some point and gave me the option of another drink. Now on to the food, it was ok. Nothing spectacular. The lobster tail was real meaty. It could've had more seasoning. The crab rice was just okay as well. The corn was seasoned well. I was unable to eat the broccoli because it was too soggy. Ticket was $63 but sad to say it wasn't worth it. I suggest anyone trying it out to place an order over the phone. That might be a better experience.

I gave this place five stars for the fried salmon!!!! The pasta is also amazing. I bought a plate for my guy too and he was blown away.

This is in response to Anthony T and Daee L reviews. How inconsiderate are you people? How quick you are to leave negative commentary when you have no idea as to what is going on when a business has to close on a regular business day. Do you not have compassion or even a brain? The family at this particular time was and still is dealing with a very tragic loss. I understand your travelling disappointment but to go as for as to leave a negative review when you have no clue as to what the heck is going on. Shame on you both.

Don't go here either. They false advertise saying they're open when they not. And they don't answer the phone.

First time trying Pra_LEES, and I'm pretty impressed. We ordered the special (fried salmon, crawfish Mac, and corn) and a Shrimp Salad. The special plate was perfect. When I got the salad it was no a shrimp salad, but a salmon salad. It was unexpected but still very good.

Great customer service & the restaurant has a great vibe. Clean & niice seating area.

The shrimp wrap was awesome and tasty! It had huge shrimp and was seasoned perfectly with spinach h, onions, cheese and tomatoes. I ordered and less than 10 minutes later my order was done. I will eat here again for sure!

My mom and I were looking to get a lunch takeout to enjoy the beautiful weather. And because we are from the neighborhood we decided to try Pra_Lees. OMG... we made the best choice. This restaurant is black owned and has the coziest atmosphere. The walls are decorated with New Orleans Art Culture. It's a small area but there is a seating area in the back. Beautifully decorated furniture. There is a big Screen TV that will definitely make you feel at home. I ordered a Red Beans and rice, with a side of corn, and a fillet of Catfish. The Red Beans were cooked to perfection with big chunks of smoke sausage, creamy and seasoned very well. The Catfish was seasoned and fried crispy. The corn was buttery and tasty. My mom ordered a side of Regular wings. Remind you the wings come in different flavors. And she ordered a side of French fries and a couple of drinks to wash it down. Hands down it was the best damn Red Beans I've had in a long time. I ate it all. The host that greeted us and took our order was absolutely attentive and very professional. He made us feel important, and Kept us updated on the process of our order. He was wonderful. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the customer service and definitely the food. We will be back again.

I love the food but lately it has been extremely greasy, but what I've noticed and rude. The cashier asked why I didn't have a mask on and see several others with their mask off. I was very offended.

Only a lady was when my wife and I went. We ordered a lobster wrap and literally I had three little pieces of lobster in mine and my wife had Maybe 4.... it's like they took one lobster and cut it in half of the smallest lobster they had and that's what we ended up eating we had more bread than anything else & one of my pieces of the wrap had no lobster on it I've been here before and I've gotten the salmon which was good but when I got this lobster wrap I was not happy at all and I have not been back since then. I think I'm more upset because I live way in Kenner and I drove a long time to get this wrap and I was in so much traffic by the time I got home and looked at the wrap I was so angry we still ordered food from somewhere else just to fill us up. If it wasn't for the lobster wrap experience I probably would still be a customer. They definitely should find out who that woman was because she had to eat the rest of the lobster because it was not on our wraps.

Would not go back!!! I ordered two items which took me an hour to receive. I walked in at 4:44 didn't leave out until 5:49 . The location was not packed wall to wall for this kind of service. Upon me waiting they ran out of multiple food items such as sides . They also ran out of chicken wings, at one point of my wait I saw a man going to the back with to go containers,my gosh they done ran out of plates too . For the long wait the food did not live up to par . The sides that they had left available were very bland , salmon was over cooked and fried shrimp were salty.
