Prati Palai

We spent four nights at Prati Palai and we were amazed by the beauty of this peaceful place! While Bardolino town is quite touristy and German, we found a little authentic italian gem in Prati Palai. The rooms and garden are beautiful with everything you need, the breakfast was perfect with a huge variety of fresh local ingredients and delicious selfmade cake every morning (despite previous reviews here). The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Thank you Prati Palai for these wonderful days!

Situated on a hill overlooking Bardolino, the Prati Palais is in a stunning location. Sitting on the terrace looking down at the lake whilst having breakfast or an aperitif was absolutely idyllic. It’s a 5 min drive into the town or a 20 min walk (a bit longer coming back up the steep hill!). ||We stayed in a suite which was very spacious. It’s a farmhouse, so relatively basic but comfortable. There was a small honesty bar and a basic breakfast. The owners were friendly and helpful. ||This is a lovely option to escape the Bardolino crowds and really appreciate the beauty of the lake.

We have just returned from a wonderful 4 nights spent at Prati Palai celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. The farmhouse is stunning and the suites are really special with amazing views of the lake. We enjoyed beautiful evenings out in the garden enjoying a glass of wine from the fabulous honesty bar (such a great idea) and had leisurely breakfast there too. The hosts Domenico and Isabella were so friendly and helpful. They really enhanced our stay! They recommended some truly fantastic restaurants that we wouldn’t have known about if we had tried to seek out hidden gems ourselves. We hired the bikes for the day as provided by the farmhouse for a small fee and also enjoyed some pool time. This is the perfect place to stay to feel the vibe of Bardolino and the surrounding port towns whilst also having a quiet, peaceful haven to return to at the end of each day surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards. We felt so relaxed. We hope to return one day and will definitely be telling friends and family to come here too. Thanks again to Prati Palai for the best few days.

We had a fantastic stay here in August. It really is a place to simply relax by the pool. Plenty of loungers and plenty of shade. Lovely cool room. All the team there are lovely and really helpful. Very much as they say it is not a hotel it is a great house with a great team that hosts guests.

The property has 9 suites with picture-perfect vistas and is surrounded by 45 acres of orchards, meadows and woodland. SO gorgeous. Bardolino’s historic centre is 5 minutes away by car or half an hour on foot. The lake view from the swimming pool is pretty special too :)||||My partner & I stayed in Suite 9 on the second floor, its vibe was sort of rustic-chic. We had a spacious sitting room, comfy double bedroom and bathroom with shower. I loved the muted colour palette and minimal aesthetic. One of my fave features was the oval window above our bed with its view towards Punta San Vigilio headland. WiFi is accessible everywhere on the premises and all suites have aircon.||||In addition to Prati Palai’s included continental breakfast, you can order small plates like salads or sandwiches throughout the day. A lot of the fresh produce offered is grown on-site or at least in the local area. Also, there’s an ‘honesty bar’ in the foyer if you fancy a cheeky aperitivo. The limoncello is homemade with lemons from the garden.||||Lovely stay!

Be in no doubt, Prati Palai deserves the fantastic reviews that it receives. From the moment you drive through the gates in the hills overlooking Lake Garda, you realise you have made the right decision. A golf buggy to carry you and your baggage from the car-park to check-in in this superbly converted farmhouse is a lovely way to arrive. The gorgeous rooms are large, stylish and all have breath-taking views over Lake Garda. Owner Domenico and Christine could not be more helpful. They are a source of so much information, both before and during your stay. Not only did they recommend three wonderful restaurants in the vicinity (and made all the bookings for us in advance) but they also suggested boat and Vespa hire, which are the best way to explore the lake and its exquisite environs. All in all, this is a very special place for a relaxing stay in the beautiful Italian countryside.

We loved our stay at Prati Palai. Everyone was very friendly. The room was nice. Simply decorated, but it felt very peaceful, just like the rest of the property. We enjoyed some wine and cheese watching the sunset and in the morning we enjoyed our breakfast in the garden with the same beautiful view. Not close to restaurants, but if you have a car, it's not far, or order a taxi. It certainly is a wonderful place to stay!
