"A business that started as a pandemic pop-up with a Portland location has finally put down some hometown roots. Chef Alejandro Preciado launched P3, or Precious Pizza Project, in 2021 with the help of his partner Cassandra Lorenzen and brother Jose Preciado. Now it’s got a tiny service counter storefront in downtown Salem. The pizzas are grandma-style squares, made with a fluffy, focaccia-style dough with crispy edges. Like the space itself, the menu is small — just a few tomato-topped pies with pepperoni or fresh basil; one with bacon, jalapeno and pineapple; and a white pie with garlic bechamel, mushrooms, caramelized onions and potato chips; plus seasonal specials. P3 is absolutely tiny, like two-people-can-stand-inside-it tiny, so plan to eat your pies at the picnic tables out front or take slices, focaccia sandwiches, or salads to-go." - Emily Teel

I was introduced to this pizza place by a friend, and thank goodness for that!!! The first time I came, I tried just cheese to be safe, but later regretted that choice after seeing my friend order a blanka pizza with chips on top. After finishing my cheese pizza, I went back and ordered 3 more slices of other flavors, to enjoy later with my spouse. We revisited today and the pizza was just as impressive as the first time!! Oh and DO NOT SKIP THE RANCH!!!

Absolutely delicious pizza! It’s great having another pizza place available downtown. Their current location is pretty small and a little bit of a hole in the wall. Easy to find though, just inside the Reed Opera House. Check them out, you’ll be glad you did!

I’ve heard the pizza was precious, so my super hot gf and I dropped in for a few pies. I enjoy the grandma style a lot. The crust is thicker, crispy edges, but fluffier towards the center. Very good. Had the garlic bread as well and it too was super yummy. Would recommend them.

Had my first slice of Precious Pizza last month when pies were brought for a party and I had to try it again. It’s a hole-in-the-wall on the north side of The Reed. The chef handed me a piece right off the cutting board, fresh out of the oven. I got the Spicy Papi, and I love the honey drizzle on top. The edges were crispy, the bottom was solid, it was fluffy and dense like a deep dish should be, and it was delicious. I planned to save half for someone else, but that half oddly did not make it out of my hands. Will definitely go again!

Found it on line, read the reviews, and tried it with my kids at lunch. Place is a bit small and quaint, true hole in the wall, but the service was excellent. The lady working was very chatty and put my kids at ease. The pizza smelled fantastic, though my kids' only complaint was that the sauce was apportioned unevenly so some slices were a bit drier than others. The cheese and toppings were nothing special but the sauce was good.

My S/O had been watching Precious Pizza since their pop-up days and unfortunately we never had the chance to go - until today! Precious Pizza is in their new location in the Reed Opera House, which is a great, small and quaint location right off the street. Customer Service here is GREAT. 10/10 in that department - very welcoming and eager to tell us about their pizza. This is their soft opening this weekend, so we went in with an open mind. We figured we'd try everything available, which included the Cheese Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, Blanka Pizza (white sauce) and The Papi which is their signature pizza that has sliced jalapenos and pineapple on it. Everything was ready to take so we were in and out in a few minutes. Presentation-wise, the pizza slices look very appetizing and photogenic. Taste-wise is where unfortunately we have to be a little more critical than we wanted to be, as we went into this expecting a "New Yorks Squares" style (Grandma-style Pan Pizza) experience. The overall feedback we have for Precious is that the crust itself is too dense! Whereas other grandma style we've had is lighter and "airy", every slice was very dense and really gave off a "focaccia"-style bread taste, and was only exacerbated by the extremely thin layer of topping on top. If there had been a heavier layer of toppings on it - even on the cheese pizza - this may counteract the density of the pie. Perhaps it was a bad batch, as this is your soft opening, but this really let us down for what we were hoping would be a great grandma-style pie. We definitely will give Precious Pizza another try in a few weeks, and would love to take a second stab at a review, but as of right now we unfortunately can't rate higher than a 3/5 due to the lack of toppings and density of the pie. The flavor is definitely there, but the execution isn't there yet. ⭐⭐⭐

Awesome little takeout spot in The Reed serving some of, if not THE, best pizza in Salem. Perfectly cooked, spongy crust with crispy, charred edges, just at grandma style should be. Excellent sauce. Cupped pepps that catch the grease. They serve more traditional pies like pepperoni & classic cheese, but also mix it up with fun stuff like cool ranch Doritos. Sold by the slice or as whole pies. In a town with a lot of questionable pizza options, Precious Pizza stands out as an absolute must try if you're a true pizza head.

The pizza here is really good—great crust, flavorful sauce. However, the lunch combo is seriously overpriced. $15 for just one slice and a basic small salad feels unreasonable. If you're just coming for the pizza, it's worth it, but I’d skip the lunch deal unless they improve the value.

Yelp
Great pizza! My 3 year old and I stopped in for slices and the crust and sauce were awesome. Great spot to grab a quick delicious bite right in downtown.

Yelp
Not a lot of typing choices, but great pizza. Spicy papi was excellent. Nice people.

Yelp
good pizza. While the pizzas are a little on the small side, it is clearly quality. For starters, the crust was super crispy and tasty. While I did not like the cheese and sauce as much, it was still good. Definitely give it a try
