The 6 Best Restaurants Near Acadia National Park 2024 - Bar Harbor - The Infatuation

"Precipice has a main roastery in Ellsworth, but they have a summer residency in Otter Creek if you want to start your day with great coffee and pastries away from the crowds in Bar Harbor. The small-batch baked goods are nothing short of perfect. We often find ourselves daydreaming about their crumbly biscuits served with a thick slab of radish and chive butter, and the hand pies are like a grown-up version of a Pop-Tart. The glaze and jammy berry filling leaves your fingers sticky and purple like you’re a kid stealing wild blueberries on a summer afternoon." - anne cruz

Amazing start to our Maine trip! We left the airport and headed straight for Acadia National Park but had to stop here first—and I’m so glad we did. Ironically, this spot shares its name with our first hike in the park, which was epic! The baristas were incredibly friendly and even gave us insider tips for our visit to Acadia. I also met the owner, who lives right behind the shop and clearly pours his heart into every roast. His passion for creating quality coffee and an authentic atmosphere truly shows. Fantastic service, great energy, and phenomenal coffee. Highly recommend!

What a lovely little stop! The coffee was amazing 😍 which isn’t a surprise because they roast their own beans and make their own syrups. I got the Apple cinnamon syrup and my 10 oz latte was delish. Super friendly staff! For my vegans, they had alternative milks! (No vegan bakery items but, let’s be honest, we don’t need the extra calories). Great little walk in spot on your way to an Acadia adventure! Also, compostable cups!

This morning before the rest of our road trip. We stopped at Precipice Coffee. I always try to find a local coffee shop and support them. I got an ice finally latte with the wild blueberry surp added. My sister got an ice vanilla late with maple surp added. Both were 10/10! It was a 4 min drive in the opposite direction if where we needed to go, which was not far. I'd recommend to stop here and get great coffee and support local 🐝❤️🦞⛰️✨️⛵️

The lattes are good but the most memorable item was definitely the wild blueberry pie slice I ordered! Will definitely order a full size pie next time!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Must-Visit Spot for Incredible Coffee, Fresh-Baked Treats, and True Sustainability This coffee roaster and coffee-and-pie shop is a true gem. The moment you walk up, the aroma of freshly roasted beans tells you you’re in for something special. Their coffee is consistently top-tier—smooth, flavorful, and clearly crafted by people who take real pride in their roasting. They’re also proudly solar powered and committed to sustainability, which makes every cup feel even better. It’s refreshing to support a place that not only delivers great products but also cares about doing things the right way. While there’s no dine-in seating, it doesn’t matter—you’ll happily take your cup to go once you taste it. Their espresso drinks, pour-overs, and brewed coffees all highlight the beans instead of masking them, and every cup is reliably excellent. It was so great to purchase a bag of beans of the drip coffee we had! The pies are outstanding—flaky, buttery crusts with fillings that are homemade and thoughtfully balanced, and made with Maine made ingredients. And it doesn’t stop there. They offer a rotating selection of other sweet and savory treats that are just as impressive, from pastries to small bites that make it hard to choose just one. Get a cookie for sure! This place has quickly become a go-to for anyone who loves exceptional coffee, fresh, high-quality baked goods, and businesses that put sustainability front and center. If you’re anywhere nearby, it’s absolutely worth the stop.

Google
The cleanest cup of joe! I was really impressed by Precipice, from its simple tiny structure to its scrumptious blueberry pie and galette, the warm hospitality and undeniably best cup of coffee I've had. Highly recommend purchasing beans so that the so good taste can be enjoyed at home!

Yelp
We stopped by in our way out of Ellswoeth. Had a delicious apple pastry and maple latte. The service was friendly and the little shop was so quaint. You have to stop by.

Yelp
Had this coffee every morning on our vaca...great cortados and iced lattes with lavender, Mo to and brown sugar syrups. Baked goods are also great. Cute little coffee shop, friendly staff! Must go and support local!

Yelp
Stopped in for coffee and it did not disappoint! The brew was excellent -- smooth, flavorful, and clearly well-prepared. The menu is surprisingly robust, with plenty of options for every type of coffee lover (and a few fun extras I'll be back to try). We lingered over our drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere just as much as the coffee -- the decor is warm and inviting without feeling overdone. On top of that, the staff was so kind and welcoming, which really made the whole experience stand out. Definitely a spot I'd recommend and one I'll be returning to.

Yelp
A great little coffee shop near Acadia. It's a to go shop with lots of baked goods and a wine options. The owner was running the register. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and the baker behind all the goodies. They also had lots of fun homemade syrups. We went two days in a row and enjoyed it. The lattes were good. The syrups were good not overpowering and I wish slightly stronger. The matcha with blueberry syrups was DELICIOUS and I'm not a big matcha fan.

Yelp
Delicious cortado and very enjoyable shishito cheese scone too. Lovely people and a worthwhile stop on our way out of Arcadia.

Yelp
This place is great! The shop itself is really cute, and I like that it's off on a side street. Service was great--the barista I had was very nice and helpful. Coffee was pretty good, though I did feel like it could've been better with a little less milk, so the coffee flavor would be a bit stronger. Overall recommend!

Yelp
Great coffee and pastries. Charming space and friendly vibe in the shop and neighborhood. Would stop in every day if I lived in Ellsworth!

Yelp
Nice little coffee shop with fancy roaster and some baked goods. However, they did not have honey or maple syrup to add to the beverage or to drizzle on the ricotta biscuit we purchased. The biscuit was dry and really needed a drizzle of honey. The coffee was decent.

Yelp
We recently spent a week in Acadia National Park and were delighted to stumble across this delightful coffee shop in Otter Creek. Unfortunately for us it was the last day of our trip. Otherwise we would have gone everyday. The blubard pastry was absolutely delicious!!! I also loved the Smoked London Fog. If you are in the area I would highly recommend stopping and giving Precipice Coffee a try. You won't be disappointed.
