Very cool cave castle in Slovenia. A little nerve racking at times driving there on the narrow roads near the castle, but it was worth it. We had to pay to park, and bought castle tickets in the shop outside. The castle itself was bigger than expected, and you could climb pretty high, with great viewpoints out, and you're also able to go up into the caves behind the castle a little. One of the best attractions in the country.

Super cool castle, lots of rooms and levels creatively built into the cave on the side of the hill. Loved the armor and weapons displays and period staging. We were there out of summer hours so the lower caves were inaccessible because of the hibernating bats. Check on that before purchasing tickets. There was no wait for us to get tickets or get in the castle. Will be back to explore the associated cave system!

We booked the castle on an excursion joining it with the caves. Its well worth a visit though i can imagine it gets super busy, we were lucky at the end of the season. Its a beautiful castle outside and interesting inside. Make sure you pair it with a booked cave visit nearby, definitely worth coming.

The world largest cave castle! A must visit if you are in Ljubljana or Slovenia 🇸🇮 The castle is not far from the capital, close almost a 45 minutes drive to an hour. You can wander on the castle for an hour or two, we didn’t take the audio guide, but it looks like a good option. Make sure to visit Postojna Cave first, the cave comes earlier on the road and there is a ticket office for both attractions.

It was an awesome place to see but it didn’t take much time to see it. They have a museum that has some interesting artifacts. Prepare yourself for a steep climb. It’s not a long climb but it is steep. You will go up stairs to visit all of the areas so I don’t know how wheelchair friendly it is.

Castle is a must see if in the area. Fun for kids, but hold their hand! Suggest buying tickets in advance online. You can buy up to four experiences, including the cave tour. Cave tour sells out during busy times of the year.

Really interesting, takes you back in time. Biggest castle in a cave in the world. You can get audio guide and connect it around the castle and listen to some really interesting stories.

We arrived in Predjama to find it absolutely packed with tourists - how dare they! It seems to be a favourite for coach trips with coaches outnumbering cars when we arrived. Luckily there is a large car park at the bottom of the hill and then a short walk up to the castle. I almost left after about 5 minutes as it took that long to shuffle across the drawbridge, along a short corridor and into the first room with everyone listening to their audio guides. I headed up some stairs and we just made our way around the upper floors until the ground floor was quieter. Deb abstained from climbing the steps into the main caves so I did that solo but not much to see other than their size and use for storing provisions. The armoury and a couple of the interior rooms were interesting and nicely laid out to give an impression of how it would have been. The fresh water was unusual too - supplied by dripping water in the caves. There were plenty of information boards and the audio guide for those who chose it but the interior, for me, wasn't that interesting. It wasn't helped by the huge number of people so the castle is really a victim of it's own success. It would be tempting to visit, park up for €3 and just take some pictures from the outside rather than pay the €17 entrance fee even though it was used in Witcher and is a very photogenic castle exterior.
