Best Food to Order Before the Sounders-Crew MLS Cup Final - Eater Seattle

"This stand located at Pier 54 serves up classic British pies, such as shepherd’s pie and an Irish stew pie made with Guiness (of course). Though it’s all about the Premier League branding, rather than Major League Soccer, soccer fans will no doubt appreciate the sporty vibe." - Gabe Guarente

Google
Excellent spot to stop off for good pies. Service was excellent. Food was excellent and very well made. Definitely a place we would stop by regularly if we lived here. I went for the Guinness Irish Pie with a side of Chilli. Yep a while bowl of chilli. I needed a nap afterwards but it was worth it. You can get any assortment beverages to pair with your meal. I really wish they had merch. I would have left with a T-shirt or hat. Anyway, give them a try. You'll be glad you did. 👍

Google
Service was kind, quick, and explained everything really well. The food was soooo good and gave me that “O” face; tempted to chew faster but I wanted to slow down because IT WAS SO GOOD! My wife and I both got the Guinness Irish stew pie, I got the Calcannon topping. I had a perfectly “unmixed” Arnold Palmer; interesting how it was separated, that’s new to me! The serving was perfect size enough to get the dessert, which we had the Chocolate Banana Bread pudding A la Mode. Again, SO GOOD! It was hard to contain my excitement for this food; I could eat that Guinness stew pie everyday! I wish we had this back east.

Google
The meat pies here are very flavorful and flakey and let’s just say the bangers and mash were, well, bangin’! But the best part of this experience was meeting Annette. She was attentive and fun and made our experience that much more meaningful. Love that this place is right on the waterfront, highly recommend this establishment!

Google
I actually ordered delivery and did not go in person. Everything was so good that I definitely want to try more of the food. The pea salad is delicious! Update: Was able to go to the restaurant today and was happy to have friendly service and delicious food. There is also nice seating outside near the water.

Google
We love pasties, so we thought we’d give these a try. The hatch chili chicken was really good, and the Mac and cheese was good as well. Kind of spendy like everything else along the piers. Service was super fast for takeout. $12 for each hand pie.

Google
I stopped in to get out of the rain and enjoy a quick bite before leaving on the ferry. I wanted comfort food as I was chilly and hung. I asked the friendly lady behind the counter about favorites and she suggested the steak and mushroom with mashed potatoes. I got the combo with a side and got a tomato basil soup. My fave! I had paid at the counter, taken a seat, and very quickly my food arrived. Yum!!! The mashed potatoes and gravy were flavorful and there were tiny lumps of potatoes in the mashed potatoes so they looked to be real potatoes! Nice! The pasty on the pie was appropriately flaky and sopped up the gravy nicely. Chunks of beef and mushrooms were plentiful in the crust. The tomato basil soup was very good too! A spattering of Parmesan cheese and chopped herbs were a nice complement. I enjoyed this meal greatly for a quick drop by and will be back!

Google
With the right expectation set, this is a good place to grab a certain kind of pies and I’m gonna want to revist again, so 5 stars. However, I do not know if I want to openly recommend this place to the other people unless they know what they are looking for. The pies here reminds me of those I had in UK; crispy pastry texture with gooey and savory (often maybe too savory) inside ingredients. In that nostalgia context, I really loved the pies here. But I can also imagine that these aren’t really types of pies for everybody cause some people could find the flavor too greasy and/or strong. I found that Guineas meat pie had more salty flavor than the chicken pie.

Google
This place was kind of a wow factor for me! The crust was like French croissant! I'd heard about it at nice restaurants. I just never had it before. It was incredible! It was much faster than expected. The service was great! Took my two girls with me they loved it 19 and 14. I live in Lacey, Washington, and I'd go to Seattle on the train again just for the pies!

Leo N.

Yelp
My son said the cookies were "a gift from god". Daniel makes the best chocolate chip and snickerdoodles and Ennet made us feel so welcome. A pier 54 mist from Now on.

Yelp
We came in with some friends and grabbed desert pies, which were amazing. Picked up a bunch more take-and-bake - and they were fantastic, too! The gentleman behind the counter was enthusiastic, friendly, and passionate about pies! He made us excited about the food - and the excitement was earned. My wife and I split the cherry-berry desert pie, which was incredible. Later, I had the Guinness hand pie and the Hatch chicken hand pie - and both were excellent. The Guinness was up there with the better pasties we had in the UK, while the chicken was something all its own - but awesome! Just spicy enough! Can't recommend this place enough, for eat-in or take-and-bake. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
We came here a few hours to closing and were surprised to see a majority of the items on their menu sold out. Next time, we'll definitely remember to come earlier! I tried the bangers and mash which was decent. The gravy was really dark and lack flavor. We also got shepherds pie topped with bacon and cheese with a side of chili. The chili was surprisingly the best thing I ate there. I would come back just for the chili. The shepherds pie was a little dry and would've been good with gravy. The employee working there was really understanding and apologetic that they didn't have a lot of the menu items available. I have a lot of respect for him running the whole restaurant himself. There were a lot of customers that came and left because the service was really slow.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to stop that wasn't hamburgers or hit dogs & found this gem. They had covered outdoor seating on the dock. Although it wasn't too busy , service was still good. You can't go wrong with whatever you order. Hands down the best Caesar salad I've ever ordered at a restaurant. Would highly recommend stopping in.
google avatar

Carol Y.

Yelp
This little cafe type restaurant is located down on the water. It has friendly and fast service. If you enjoy a meat pie, nice place to take a break and grab one while sightseeing. They have both outdoor and indoor seating.
google avatar

Yelp
Cozy place by the waterfront . Server's are friendly and knowledgeable. A little bit of everything here to satisfy your tastes. Great music selection playlist.

Yelp
Anet is really pleasant and friendliest server FIVE STAR for this pretty lady. Jullian the chef yahooo... for the delicious meal we highly recommend the place No photos because we swiped the food in just few minutes

Laura L.

Yelp
This place is 4.7 Had the curry lamb pie and a floating Mac and cheese with chili pored over all sitting in pie shell Food was amazing hearty and full of flavor. The playlist was giving and it was all paired with a glass of red wine. Coming from springtime Fresno weather to a wet cold Seattle; my body needed to regulate its metabolic temperature; so I consumed, and the last bites left on plates were compliments to the chef. Waitress even was "impressed" . Also, bought the take home and bake pies Friends and I were all happy with this place.

Yelp
Oh my sweetness! My Apple Peach Cobbler Pie was absolutely delish! Accompanied with a black coffee... perfecto. My son had the Guinness pie which he highly enjoyed. Our server Annette was so personable and sweet. Bravo to the food and service. Will we return? Yes.
google avatar

Julia H.

Yelp
Food was amazing! I loved the two different pies, very filling and great for a cold day. Would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Kris C.

Yelp
Yelp recommend this place for me & I was stoked to try it! I love meat pies, Shepard pies and more. Ordered the Shepard pie and the Guinness meat stew. The Guinness meat stew was super good, nice hearty chunks of meat & super flavorful. The thickness of the sauce was perfect w/ the flakiness of the pastry. 10/10. The Shepards pie was disappointing to be honest. The mash potatoes wasn't as good, very dry. Then the pastry on the bottom was over cooked & even the meat filling, it just fell apart, no sauce to hold it together in a sense. So everything was just dry. But I'd come back for the Guinness stew for sure.

Yelp
We originally visited Premier Meat Pies a few times this Summer and found their service friendly and helpful. This last visit not so much. There was a definite edge to the interaction like both of the wait staff were irritated at having customers. More than two hours after opening all of the seating outside was still locked together (and wet) so we ended up taking our food to-go. The food has always been about 4 stars (depending on if you love pot pies), but they don't always have everything in stock or ready to be served when you order so the wait time for your pie can vary from about 5 minutes to 40 minutes. When taken with the temperamental service you can likely expect about a 3-4 star experience and food, which at the end of the day is actually pretty good for Pike Place.
google avatar

Linda N.

Yelp
Flaky, crunchy crusts but the seasonings on everything were too strong and salty for me (approx 25-40% too much I think). Note, I didn't order the gravy with my food, perhaps it would have mellowed the seasonings. Dunno. Tried: steak and mushroom, Seattle beef hand pie, chili, mashed potatoes.
google avatar

Grace A.

Yelp
This place was cool, it's clean inside and had a cozy ambiance. Service was good, there was one girl working but she made sure everyone was taken care of. Had the chicken hatch chile pie. The flavor was alright, it was slightly dry but the filling on the potatoes made it real good. It was also the perfect size. The pie crust wasn't all that flakey which kind of made me feel like it had been sitting there for a while. Loved the music choice though that was playing. Soulful hip-hop music made the ambiance chill and relaxing.
google avatar

Robert R.

Yelp
The "shepherds pie" pie was amazing and the drinks were made to perfection, the hostess was very happy and friendly i wish i would of caught her name. All in all I'd recommend this spot for a quick bite. I appreciate you

Yelp
Had friends visiting us and came down to the waterfront for a harbor tour, and decided to have lunch while waiting. The main thing most people want to eat is seafood while on the water front, but one friend is not fond of that cuisine. We didn't know at the time Premiere Pies had a location on the water front. We had liked their food at the pavilion by the Space Needle in the past, so we decided to give it a go for our visitors. This location is much more like a actually restaurant then at the Space Needle, and pleased they had many more options to choose from on the menu. The service was great as well as the atmosphere of the water front. The food was a big winner with our guests, especially the bangers and Smash was excellent. Will definitely be back, and the seafood has some future competition.

Yelp
I tried the chicken pie. I really enjoyed the veggies, seasoning and the amount of chicken in the pie. The crust was the best part of the pie. Great texture and moisture. Definitely a pound of butter in the pie crust. A little but expensive but it's a heavy dish that you can share... watch out for the 2 dollar paper bag fee. I don't mind paying fees, I just like to be informed of how things cost. Worth a try when in Seattle. Dragon egg approved!
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
Food was super tasty. Our favorite was the steak and mushroom pie. The Shepard pie would have been better if we ordered gravy. The Mac and cheese pie was also yummy. Crab dip was really yummy. All the servers were attentive and helpful. The seating was very clean, well done, and comfortable.
google avatar

Marc N.

Yelp
Service was great, talked to the cashier for a while and bonded lol, but I can't say that the food was that good. We got the steak and mushroom meat pie with gravy. Pastry was stale and the filling wasn't savory. It was salty and seemed to lack depth. Overall the food was a 3/10
google avatar

Yelp
Don't forget a meat pie when walking along the waterfront! It's next to Ye Old Curiosity Shop and offers a quick delicious bite in between your waterfront stroll. We had our two dogs and sat outside where they have a few small tables. Immediately their friendly team brought over water for our dogs and us and took our orders. Very efficient! We ordered two meat pies, the Steak & Mushroom and Guinness Irish Stew which are apparently their top two. They're a bit similar and if you are in between both I would choose the Guinness Stew which offers a little something extra and is a great representation of the savory meat pies. These two start at $8.99 each and then you can add toppings like cheese, gravy, potatoes, peppers and onions plus more. We were basic and got it as is but our waiter suggested some mashed potatoes and gravy and I couldn't say no! It was really good altogether. You can apparently get a box of frozen ones too to take the goodness home in bulk.
google avatar

Sean P.

Yelp
I'm a little biased. I love meat pies. But this place really is amazing. I could eat these delicious dishes All. Day. Long. Don't forget to add mashed potatoes and gravy on top. You won't regret it!
google avatar

Casey V.

Yelp
What a fun concept and so delicious. I want to try all the topping combinations. Welcome to Renton!
google avatar

Jodi W.

Yelp
After waiting an hour we get a call from Doordash saying that Premier Meat Pie canceled my order because they didn't have what we wanted and weren't offering a substitution. It's unfortunate it took an hour for anyone to realize that the order needed canceled. We won't try again.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for simple bite with our 8 month old in tow after a visit to aquarium. We were trying to avoid the tourist traps and just unwind and happened on this place. Glad we did. Simple tables, no real ambiance but friendly and really good food. Shared the Guinness meat pie which was chunks of beef with carrots, mashed potatoes and delicious gravy. And plenty of it. The pasties are basically a British samosa. We shared the steak and cheese. Flavorful and two in an order so nice if splitting items to try more things. A decent beer selection although just avoid the house red wine. Definitely worth a stop by and enjoy the patio if a nicer WA day.

Yelp
Great Food! Great Staff! Leon is a great host! Curry Lamb PieSteak and Mushroom PieApple Peach Cobbler Pie and the Cheesecake!! With Bluebery Mojitos!! Yumm!!

Yelp
It was ok, but definitely felt hard done by. Not overly sure what happened but a little offended they're classed as British fare. I mean the location was clean and organized and there service was to be expected for where I was, but that is where to good stuff stop's unfortunately. Ordered the pie experience which is pie + topping plus side for $21. Have to be plainly honest they there wasn't enough water to either remove the salt taste or soften up the pastry. Wasn't overly busy but have a nasty suspicion that whilst all the staff (and pretty certain it was all) were dealing with a homeless woman in a wheel chair, they either over cooked my food completely or realized they had and tried to make it quicker at a higher temp. (Was told by the server, nice girl but obviously coached, "soon", "almost ready" and "2 minutes" in a 20 min wait time) I only can deduce that either way the pastry had lost all moisture and the insides were pretty dry and chewy (saved only by the beef gravy), loaded tater-tots again saved by the melting sour cream made them palatable but those that weren't were like crisp bullets. I'm probably going to vote with my feet on this one as although it was clean and service was pleasant. But the price along with the food left me with a underwhelming taste in my mouth. Would like to see if it was a one off but can't honestly recommend to anyone to anyone rn
google avatar

Gillian A.

Yelp
Hmm overall not a bad spot for food at the pier. Meat fillings were a tad dry but nothing some HP sauce couldn't fix. Crust was satisfyingly crispy. Weirdly enough my favorite thing that I tried was the side of mashed potatoes with gravy lol. Super creamy and no skimping on flavorful gravy! I did a takeout order and the staff were as friendly as if I was dining in, offering me water while I wait for my order. Definitely recommend this place if you're already at/near Pier 54 and are starting to get a bit hungry.

Dana B.

Yelp
This place is a new must stop when we visit Seattle!! Bunped into it on our way to the ferry and Kevin helped us get dinner and get to the ferry ontime! Not only that, since it was our first time we tried 6 different pies, all of which were amazing. We particularly loved the Lamb Curry. Our 8 year old who is super picky didn't want to try any but when we told him there wouldn't be any sweet pies without a try, he cautiously nibbled and then finished the whole thing! The shop itself has good atmosphere, not too crowded and feels like a Cafe. There is also outdoor seating and all the pies we ate can be taken as hand pies! Perfect for a busy day of wandering.
google avatar

Lindsay N.

Yelp
We gave this place a try a few days before Christmas. We were the only ones there. Took a while before we even saw any staff. We went there a little after open and ordered a couple meat pies. It was so quiet with no music playing, which made the environment seem very cold. I asked the bartender if she could put some on and she did. She mentioned she had a lot going on and her cook wasn't coming in until noon. This made me wonder who was cooking our food and we had just placed our orders. The food came out and it looked great, but it wasn't very hot. The poutine tater tots were all stuck together in the shape of the bowl which made them difficult to eat. Had me wondering if the bartender and waiter did their best to heat our meal? Friendly staff and the food wasn't terrible, but I'm not sure I would visit this place again.
google avatar

Jenny G.

Yelp
Disclaimer: We only tried the Cheesecake, so our review is not holistic. The cheesecake was a bready texture and tasted burnt at end. The crust was just loosely packed, soggy, sweet graham crackers (sandy texture). The best part of the cheesecake was the strawberries.
google avatar

Kyle W.

Yelp
I went here for a quick snack and decided to dine-in. At the start I thought it's a casual place where you need to bus your own table, get your own water, etc but it's good to know the server actually does all that for you. I got the steak and mushroom pie which is decent for the price. The pie itself is flaky and slightly buttery, and despite the somewhat small size, it was a very filling dish. Steak is overcooked but can't really complain for the price, and the filling is rich with the mushroom. Service is very quick and attentive, a plus to an otherwise semi casual dining experience.

Shelley S.

Yelp
The restaurant was really cute and the service was great. We loved the drinks and enjoyed the pies, we got three different ones but all agreed we'd like a little more sauce inside
google avatar

Marjorie T.

Yelp
Just happened upon this place. Absolutely delicious! We came about 20 minutes to close and they still had a nice selection. Service was friendly and quick. Would definitely come back again!
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
This restaurant is by the Piers so easy walking access if you are in that area. My wife and I went after a water ride and got outside seating. I ordered a local beer which was pretty good and we got two pies to share. The Tillamook Cheese pie was very disappointing which is why I went with a low rating. The crust was good but the mac and cheese was just okay. It was neither that cheesy or tasty. It felt like it was meant for children with low flavor, no offense to those younger eaters but not for me. The Steak and Mushroom pie was much better. The meat was not abundant but tasty and the gravy inside had a lot of flavor. Overall we had an underwhelming experience. The waiter was very nice and helpful but the food just didn't deliver. The Steak pie was much better than the Mac and Cheese but not good enough to highly recommend the restaurant.
google avatar

Ekaterina H.

Yelp
Smells and looks wonderful. Walking around and wanted some advice for what type of pie would be ok. Was very excited and she told me. Mam I cannot explain all the pies to you. Rudely. Pointed at a menu I had I find myself bc she was busy on her phone. And told me to look at it. I turned around and walked out. I have a family of 7 with me and lots of business was lost. Horrible experience and embarrassment. I work in food and beverage and never experienced such horrible unwelcome behaviour in the first 10 seconds of walking in.
google avatar

Yelp
I threw the idea of eating here and my wife was skeptical. However, after her first spoonful of soup, we were not disappointed. The interior is nice and spacious inside and they have a nice spot outside. Waitress was super helpful and quick. We ordered the pickled vegetables for our appetizer and it was out within minutes. I ordered the Guinness Irish Stew pie and my wife ordered the seasonal soup which was cream of mushroom with a side of mashed potatoes. We cleaned all of the plates, it was that good. My meat pie was still crispy even with all of the gravy and mashed potatoes. It was savory and I couldn't stop eating. My wife kept saying how amazing the soup was, and finished it within a few minutes. The mashed potatoes was delicious - just the right texture with potato skins inside. After we destroyed everything, it was time to try one of their desserts. We went with the apple-peach cobbler pie. The pie was still warm and the ice cream serving was generous. The pastry itself was so yummy, but beware, the outer shell is extremely tough, but worth the effort of course. Overall, one of the best places we've had an early dinner. Everything hit the spot and we will definitely be back. Thank you Premier Meat Pies!

Chris A.

Yelp
Tried there today and honestly would say I was fairly disappointed, let's start with the atmosphere, the music that was playing was less than family friendly plenty of foul language and use of the "N" word. The place was empty when we came in and yet a few of the tables needed cleaning as the employee sat playing on his phone. Service was slow and almost felt that we were bothersome to them. The employees spent more time talking with eachother and playing on their phone than caring for the people that have came in to eat. The pies were fair and tasted premade and frozen and smaller in size. Wouldn't go back or tell others to try them.

Lynette H.

Yelp
Great for a quick bite along the waterfront! They have the best beef gravy ever!! Super service as well...

Yelp
Kevin & Leon we're awesome. They worked hard as a team when they were just opening to satisfy all the customers and had a great sense of humor while taking care of us

Yelp

Yelp
Kevin and Mya were awesome. We very much enjoyed our experience. The food was quite tasty.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place but I was a little disappointed. I ordered the vegetarian curry pasties with cheese and caramelized onions and could barely make it through the first one. I wrapped up the second one and then forgot to bring it with me. No harm, no foul I guess since I didn't really like it much anyway. Also there was little in the way of customer service here. They got mad when I tried to pour myself some water from the water station when there was no sign indicating you weren't supposed to do so. Both people working in the storefront were aloof and I can't imagine watching a soccer match or any other sporting game here.
google avatar

Alisa W.

Yelp
Lovely spot! Great place to have a snack and a drink. Great service, Kevin was awesome!
google avatar

Marie D.

Yelp
Stopped in after dinner at Ivar's. A waiter at Ivar's recommended this place for coffee. The vanilla bean and cardamom latte was so good, not too sweet. It was perfectly made. The barista who made it was so friendly and very experienced making the specialty coffee. Highly recommend this place for their coffee!

Priscillah W.

Yelp
Kevin the server was excellent, good cocktails and good interaction with clients. A chilled spot we had a good time
google avatar

Yelp
Don't be deceived by the size of the pie. It is filling! Thanks for staying open later than most locations near the pier. Reasonably priced.

Rebecca F.

Yelp
Happened to be walking down along the water front in Seattle and stopped in. Asked about their menus and it was recommended the classic Scottish pie with mashed potatoes and gravy. Mmmmm, sooo good

Autumn F.

Yelp
Quaint little establishment on the pier with quick service, a great atmosphere and even better food at a solid price. Their crab dip was to die for.
google avatar

Folasadé O.

Yelp
I only have 3 words: APPLE PEACH COBBLER!!! Lawd have mercy! I just want it one more time. I honestly wanted to try everything single thing on the mean. One of the servers recommended the Lamb Curry so I'll definitely be back to try that. This spot is a total gem.

Debra C.

Yelp
Love the food and service. Worth a visit especially if you haven't been there before
