We enjoyed a delicious Bengali meal at Premium Sweets & Restaurant in Jackson Heights. The ilish was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spices, while the rui fish had that authentic home-style flavor we love. The begun bhaji was crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the loitta vorta packed a flavorful punch that paired wonderfully with the plain rice and dal. Everything tasted fresh and reminded us of traditional home cooking.

Google
Enjoied delicious Bengali food at Premium Sweets & Restaurant in Jackson Heights. Beef kala bhuna was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spices ingredients , rui fish with cauliflower had the authentic home-style flavour. Alu vazi reminds me my mom's cooking, and alu vorta with the plain rice and dal was out of the world. Also tried vegun vorta, dal vorta and shutki. Every items tasted fresh and reminded me traditional home cooking and deshi tastes.

I ordered some food there, and it was disgusting and too old. Not even able to eat. The chicken biriani had a bad odor and was slippery.I ordered haleem, but what I got was old haleem with no haleem masala. I was disappointed when they gave me beef khichuri instead of the beef tehari I had ordered. Although the khichuri was good.

When I first saw this restaurant , I thought it’s the original popular brand from Bangladesh. But then found out from my friend they just used their name to open up this place. Still the restaurant has nice interior, the sitting area looks really nice. Alongside Bangladeshi dishes, they also have huge variety of sweets and confectionery goods. We went early in the morning around 10am, so there was not much lunch items to order. Luckily they had the item my friend was craving for, beef nehari. We got a big box it. It had really good taste, bone pieces were large. I also got a mango lassi, but it was thin, almost seemed watery to me. Few staff members we interacted with were friendly. One of them told us upfront parathas were not ready and would take time if we had ordered.

Recently visited premimu sweets and was amazed with the taste of the beef biriany.. On top of that the service from Mamun was just outstanding. It was on my bucket list to come to this restaurant when I planned to visit New York from Sydney, and I must say I am impressed with the taste of the they food they have. Thank you young Manun.

Had a delicious lunch at Premium Sweet & Restaurant today with my lovely mom ordered Morog Polao and Goat biryani. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious.

Google
I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW DISGUSTING THE PLACE IS AND HOW BAD THE FOOD TASTES. I don’t understand why people go there, if regular basis, what do they see in there? Had beef biriyani, fried rice, chicken and shrimp, they tasted nothing like their respective taste. Bland, no balance in spices, too sweet. Also stomachache/discomfort is a bonus. I mean this place is a total whack! Waste of money. If you’re reading this help yourself and don’t eat here. All other places like this are same as well.

Google
The best spot for hubby and me to revisit when we're in the mood for our favorite Bangladeshi cuisine. With its tempting assortment of borthas, mouthwatering fish curry, and, of course, the unbeatable beef yakhni pulao , it's our ultimate comfort food haven.

Yelp
We went as a big group of 8 and our Bengali friend ordered a bunch of dishes and it was so good! Everything was so flavorful and everything had different flavor profiles. My favorite were the dal and the Ramadan special that's a goat & dal curry, so delicious with lime. I'm just a huge fan of dal. The cha was heavier than what I'm used to, but I still enjoyed it a lot!

Yelp
Ate here today by myself for lunch. I had brought and ate the fish curry lunch combo and drank mango lassi that it had tasted really good and delicious. The service there was also attentive that I managed to eat with my hand to scoop out and one of the workers were surprised that I used my right hand to eat and I told them it's very good. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time.

Yelp
Whenever I am in Jackson Heights I have my own favorite places I go to eat or shop. Very rarely I come this side . The other day I came here with a new friend & that's his favorite place to eat . So I just followed my friend & give it a go. The food was good, service was great . I was just having fun with my friend & enjoying the food lol, I definitely forgot to take pictures of the food. I will come back just to try their food & let you guys know.

Yelp
Tasty fried rice and chili chicken! I also thought the service was fast and polite. Overall, the restaurant has a cozy vibe. Check it out for good Bangladeshi food!

Yelp
Been a regular since last decade so high time I wrote how I appreciate these small Bengali joints that remind me of home cooked food whenever I get nostalgic! The menu rotates based on season but there would be atleast 5-6 kinds of fish, several goat, chicken or beef dishes and then many vegetarian delicacies that is lip smacking. This is a typical diner where you could get samosa in the morning or fried fish early afternoon. There is a huge dessert section for Bengali sweet meats the place closes down like the neighborhood during Ramadan but has huge displays of fried food and other Ramadan fare! A must come if you are in the area and in mood for Bangladesh food. Overall not an amazing ambience or great service but food is exceptional with a very affordable price tag

Yelp
5 star service and food. Some of the best bangladesh I food I ever had. To top it off, the service and professionalism of this restaurant is unmatched! I highly recommend anyone that comes to Jackson Heights to come here and have a proper meal, it's a highlight when I'm in the area!

Yelp
check your bill and make sure they bill you correct amount. i was overcharged by them two days ago. Do not let them know you are from out of state.

Yelp
Clean looking place but absolute blah food. We ordered chicken samosa, chicken Shami kabob, and onion pakora none of which we could even finish and the chicken tikka was as average as any other no name place and I couldn't even finish it. Quite disappointing. The waiter basically smacked down the paper plates on the steel and wood table. No one bothered to ask or bring us water. To be avoided.

Yelp
Lots of variety, good service, clean atmosphere, very reasonable prices, recommended++ Tried the mutton biryaani, anda salan, rus malai, and chai, all were yum...always hit this place in wee hours as is one of few shops open 24/7 in the Jackson heights area now.

Yelp
Shawarma tasted pretty bad I'll eat it if I had to. The food was really dry and there's no sauce besides ketchup. Who the hell wants ketchup with shawarma. It was 6$ for a Shawarma that tasted really mid.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Meh, look it does the job. The food is pretty good and the place is spacious and clean. Can't speak for the bathrooms since I didn't use it. I usually always come here for some samosas and Bengali chai, which are definitely a go to favorite of mine. I decided to have breakfast here in the morning (9 ish) with my friend and the restaurant was pretty much empty. I had their Naan, which in comparison to the naan I've had at Kabib King (which is like a stones throw away from the restaurant), tasted hard. I prefer the softness of the Naan at Kabab King. I also ordered their chicken curry and Aloo Bhaji (potato stir fry) , which were really good though. For dessert, we ordered 'Bhapa pitha' , which is a rice cake with molasses filling. It was OK but I wish it was warmer and it definitely doesn't beat the homemade ones my mom makes that are piping hot right from the stove. One thing that I feel could use improvement is customer service. First of all, if you're sitting in, there's no menu. You have to make your choices from what you see in the buffet display at the front. Someone will take your order from there and then you proceed to finding yourselves a seat. While I'm familiar with all the food on display, I know that it definitely will be hard for someone unfamiliar with Bengali cuisine to know what they want (the staff will try their best to help). The 'waiters' that were serving us were also working at the front, handling to go orders. This made it difficult to get their attention and I had to get up from my seat when I wanted to request something. I appreciate that they do accept debit cards here (they will charge tax, as they should). Overall, I recommend just order takeout from here.

Yelp
Hi! I was a customer from this restaurant and the service was amazing. The waitress Sumia was asking questions, very polite, and was asking if we needed anything else and was very kind! I hope the person running this place will give her a raise or much more. Also the food was really good! But overall I think the waitress was the best worker at this restaurant. I hope she gets a raise InshAllah!!!

Yelp
Instead of the heavy meals (biryani/rice dishes), I would go for snacks and tea here. The portions are huge for the snacks, so we just had them for dinner. We got chicken samosas, shingara, piyaju/bora, and cha. Took some sweets to go, and they were good.

Yelp
The restaurant owner or manager and his friends got into a violent confrontation with a elderly man. Fortunately the elderly man was not assaulted physically. After the elderly man was able to escape the owner/manager accosted his dining customers because they were not minding their own business. The owner/manager is the one with the white cap and one of the friends who wanted to beat up the elderly man is wearing the white pants. A customer said the elderly man was upset that he was charged the incorrect price. Many customers left because they believed they would be at risk of their safety. Another customer said they are acting like this because they are from the village of Bangladesh thus they have no manners. I wished they handled the situation in. A professional manner and didn't involve their custoemrs The food is good. The Goat Biryani and Beef Curry is a must try. The desserts are delicious. There are plenty of seating for large parties and table booths. If you decide to dine here do not question the prices because they will get upset and violent.

Yelp
Only came here for the sweets, so can't vouch for the other food. It was ~$16 for eight sweets + a chai and we ate in, so thought that was a pretty decent price. I'd never had Bengali sweets before, I knew that they have a big sweet tooth, but some of the sweets were, well, too sweet. The table we sat at wasn't clean, but not too mad about that. The women's restroom also was out of order so had to wait for the men's, but there was no toilet paper in there so had to use paper towels. Very crowded though on a Saturday night, the place was popping. Had cricket games on the television and got the chance to practice my Bangla in the process.

Rawson J.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place 0 stars. My 80 year old grandmother went to here today. The stairs are a hazard. She saw an elderly woman struggle to get down the stairs. My grandma herself struggled herself to go up the stairs. When she finally got inside, she told the staff "there was an elderly lady who was struggling to get up the stairs, I struggled too you guys should look into your stairs." A cashier then told her "The elderly shouldn't come here." David, who introduced himself as the "owner of the restaurant" then came and told my grandma that this restaurant isn't meant for elderly people and that if she should go buy Samosas outside on the street because they're "cheaper." My grandma didn't even mention the price of the food, all she said was that the stairs were difficult to get up. David then went next door and got a guy from next door to come and intimidate my grandma. Their behavior was extremely rude and discriminatory.

Yelp
I want to buy some sweets. Can they mail to California? Please let me know. Specially the dry sweets.

Yelp
Despite all the negative reviews, my friends and I had an excellent meal at Premium Sweets! We were impressed by the large variety of entrees, especially the number of fish options (~20 we were told!) My friend who brought us is Bengali, and gave her assurance on its authenticity. My favorites were the samosa & egg appetizer, as well as the okra curry. The food was extremely affordable & filled us up on our road trip! I ate some of the leftovers the next day and did not encounter any Gi problems, of note!

Yelp
I got goat biriyani couple of days ago, it hardly had any meat in it, bits of bones n negligible pieces of goat meat in.. utterly disappointing..

Yelp
all the foods in this restaurant are all bangladeshi / bengali..... not indian, not ... not other nationalities

Yelp
As far as Bengali joints are concerned, I'm not mad at Premium Sweets. They've done a far better job than most previous reviews would have indicated (at least food wise) and the fact they are a destination for quite a number of local families makes this place A-Ok as far as I'm concerned. They should very much be a revered desserts destination. The selection goes a bit further than burfis and cashew / almond based desserts, but what I find impressive is their array of cake slices ranging from black forest to red velvet. They also serve a mean tiramisu, though I would always argue a little more booze in the batch wouldn't hurt. Traditional desserts include a number of desi donut holes, i.e. galub jamun, laddoo, rasqullah, which are as sinful as they are sweet. On the hot food front, they have a number of items that merit plenty of attention, namely the biriyani, samosas, and various curries. A few things I didn't really dig so much aren't worth much of a mention (goat and kebabs?) but the food on a whole is really not that bad. I think I'd find a few more items to enjoy if I didn't come here but once or twice a year at best. Where they can fall flat sometimes is the service. I'm not saying the folks behind the counter are slow, but they can be, especially when there is no one else around customer wise. Also, it has been a tough deal whenever I've called in to confirm if certain items are available or not, sometimes I just get hung up on after one too many inquiries. That can get frustrating and I can see the hangups people have when the wait staff isn't doing their job because they're too busy socializing. All in all, one could do far worse than Premium Sweets. As some folks would say in a cliché: not the worst, but certainly not the best. Hence, 3 stars.

Nabila F.

Yelp
The one star is for the food only. The food is actually pretty good! This review is all about the service. If I could give them triple zeroes for service quality, I would. I ordered a week in advance. On the day of, they told me to come by 12:30pm. You would think they'd feel lucky I arrived thirty minutes late. You would think they'd have things ready by then. But oh boy the cost of expectations! They were extra 15 minutes late. They packaged a pretty greasy dish in the most leak friendly of ways. I had to carry this on an Uber and some of the oil leaked into the car seat. The driver was unbelievably nice about everything and helped spray and wipe everything off. Lesson learned: I'm never ordering from them again!
google avatar

Anne C.

Yelp
Thoughts on my order today. Ordered beef bone marrow curry (paya in bangla). Price for each order is $12 which is not that low so you would expect a good balanced amount. I couldn't be more wrong. All bones with nothing on it. Like nothing to chew or anything. Just plain bones. I am taking time out of being a very busy mom to come on here and write this review to help others to not make this mistake. I made 2 orders of this curry ($24) and believe me when I say not good enough for 2 people even. I am so disappointed. I got deceived big time! Never going back. But I warned you all. So atleast no one else has to feel this way. Saturday night ruined.

Yelp
Chicken Samosas and sweets! These Chicken Samosas that Premium Sweets sells will be the end of me. I'm dead serious. Every time I come here it's guaranteed that I chow down four of them. They are sooooo addictive. They are filling, spicy, and crispy all wrapped in a triangle shaped treat. The sweets here are equally addictive, hence the name of the restaurant. Between the Samosas and the sweets, this covers my basic needs. To be honest I not quite fond of the other stuff on the menu and thus can't recommend. The customer service also may be a little lacking but get your stuff to go and it won't matter.

Shamik B.

Yelp
To sum up, sweets were absolutely horrible and more importantly STALE! We came to the store because it was close to the restaurant we had just had dinner at. Came in and had to wait a few minutes for service. Just looking at the stand the sweets look questionable and stale (especially the rosogola) but ordered anyway. One bite and I knew how stale and horrible it tasted. Rasmalai was STALE AND SLIMY, and couldn't even return. Jalebi was extremly ordinary and way overpriced ($15). From what I saw food was AT LEAST 2 weeks old. if you dont want your day to be ruined, don't come here..... It's definitely not "PREMIUM"

Maureen Y.

Yelp
This place has excellent authentic Bengali food. It is no frills but highly recommend the food.

Yelp
The only reason this place gets a star because of their daal. The daal was average. Customer service at this restaurant really needs a lot of improvement. Also they need to know how to clean the tables and the floors. How can they place new customers when there is filth on the tables? I have a picture of an example.... a cup stain after they so-call cleaned the table... Food is a concern here... This is first time I detested Goat curry from all the goat curries I have tried in Jackson Heights and Manhattan ... Also this location serves more bones than the actual meat... we tried to talk to several of the workers how this is a concern, but they looked at us and ignored us. I couldn't even finish the meat... It was too tough and the curry is full of oil... Who wants to buy a mango lassi for 5 dollars, when can you go across the street for 2.50 or 3 dollars! The lassi is below average,I have tasted better. Overall please try to skip this restaurant; its better off going to MacDonald, Wendy's or anything else...
google avatar

Kal I.

Yelp
We ordered 3 different desserts and chai. The deserts were nothing to brag about. I didn't take more than 2 bites because they didn't taste fresh. They have a lot of food and desserts to choose from. However it was not to my liking
google avatar

Roger M.

Yelp
Had a craving for indian. Walk in, food looks dry and questionable; but figured give it a try. I ask "do you take cards?", the woman say yes, I order, she then says $10 min. Bate and switch. No thanks. Not gonna spend $10 on a gamble.

Yelp
Worst nightmare... 1. beef khichuri- no smell ... no taste 2. Daal- I just received yellow water 3. Alu with vegetables- nothing exceptional but edible 4. Mixed bharta platter- went bad and smelled rotten so sent it back... 5.Chicken roast- ok 7.Ruhi fish with vegetable- tasteless written all over 6. Ginger Ale- BEST OVERALL EXPERIENCE RUBBISH

Yelp
I have many horror stories that I can share about Bengali restaurants and this is not one of them. The food here was great, I had the dhal (lentils) and the shrimp curry and they both hit it home with flavor. The shrimp tasted fresh and was not over cooked in any way. The spice level was spot on for me at least, it had a nice kick but it did not cause a sweat at all.
google avatar

Tasnu R.

Yelp
Sigh...we don't live closer to this gem. We visit a couple a times a year and ALWAYS make time to try a variety of Bengali dishes which usually includes different types of rice dishes, fish, veggies, beef curry, chicken roast, and my very favorite bhortas (smashed and spiced veggies or fish/shrimp)! So so good! You can also stroll in for some tea, fried appetizers, and sweets. Please don't feel intimidated if you don't speak Bangla, just take your time and they'll understand your requests. Also, I'd recommend take out on hot days since they don't have air conditioning which doesn't make for a comfortable environment to eat hot and spicy foods. *Tip: we requested a spoon of beef tehari (rice dish) to ensure we like the flavor before spending $9ish per plate. The lady was very kind and didn't hesitate in giving us a sample.
google avatar

Tasmia R.

Yelp
I had the samosa and daal puri. The samosas were fantastic and the daal puri was alright. Service was great

Ruby K.

Yelp
literally the worst restaurant I've ever been to I swear we ordered the plates of kichuri and a dal and eggs and salad and 3 ginger ale ,they gave the wrong dal and we ordered 3 eggs they gave 2 full eggs and 1 half so we returned the half egg the and abt the dal the first gave us beef then we told them it's wrong they they gave other one but that was a wrong one and the amount of the dal it's literally soo small and the price is $13 dollars?!!?!? what can I even say abt kichuri the kichuri was flatter than my hand literally soo worst the fun part comes here the price is $80 dollars but they put it to $76 bc we didnt take three eggs we only took 2 eggs that's why don't even think abt eating in this place my rates abt this is 10/0 they took $10 for service I didn't even think that was a good service food was a good but quantity and price and service soo bad

Yelp
One of the best way to finish an evening of eating in the 74 St. Jackson Heights area is a visit to the sweet shops. There are dozens of them! My peeps and I got adventurous and wondered into a Premium Sweets on 73 St. for dessert and tea. This place was previously called Alauddin Sweets & Restaurant. You know you walked into an authentic Middle Eastern & West Asian place when everyone stares at you (well, just me). Probably everyone in the place had an Indian, Pakistani, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka background. The restaurant is really setup like a cafeteria-style eatery. Pick your food and the waitress will put it on a tray and you grab a table. There is a buffet-style hot food setup on the left when you enter where some the food looks familiar to me; fried fish, fried rice, mix noodles. There are many stuff that I have never seen but we are here for sweets. We ordered desserts- Gulab jarmun (brown dough balls in sugar syrup) $3 (tasty and sweet) Laddoo- white sugary - mini balls $3 (overdosed on sugar) Rasgullah- white dough balls with condensed milk $3 (my favorite; milky, doughy and not too sweet) Tea with milk $1 (I really needed this to stabilize myself with all the sugar) I was sugar high for hours!!! Tip- there is no menu! Cash only. The patrons are mostly locals. (You'll feel out of place but foodies don't care.) Are you feeling adventurous?

Yelp
Being born in Bangladesh, I have high expectations when it comes to BD food. PS&R falls short...way short. I came here with the my wife who like me, will eat anything. We hardly come to the JH area but since we were there, we decided to give these guys a try. It was Ramadan, so I guess they had more food than usual - funny how that works! Besides having a regular hot bar they had another open buffet style table with Iftaar food + a bunch of kebabs and biryani dishes. The food on this buffet table had no cover and who knows how long it had just been sitting out there gathering dust. However, it wasn't an actual buffet. You had to order the food by plate. The whole thing was a bit haphazard and chaotic which made me feel I was back in BD. As my luck would have it, they didn't have Kachchi Biryani so I decided to go with the Goat Biryani instead. I also saw a few things that I liked so we went all out and tried a bunch of other stuff: Goat Biryani: Not bad but poor meat to rice ratio. I was done with the meat with half the rice still on my plate. 3/5 Golda Chingri (Large Prawn in curry): The curry wasn't bad but the prawn was overcooked and rubbery. Either that or it wasn't fresh. At $15 per prawn, this was a rip off. Good thing I only got one. 2/5 Jhura Gosh: My mom makes this dish really well. It's normally made with beef that's partially shredded and has very little sauce but a lot of flavor. Theirs had mostly fatty pieces and quite a bit of oil, but tasted okay. 2.5/5 Aloo Bhaji : Sliced Potatoes lightly fried in oil & spices. This is probably one of the easiest dishes to make in BD cuisine. They did an okay job but made me appreciate how much better the aloo bhaji was at home when I was growing up. 3.5/5 After trying these dishes, we were still hungry as the portions were small. So I went back up to the hot food bar and ordered two more meat dishes. Chicken tandoor: This is an Indian dish and not a traditional BD dish but I thought I would try theirs anyway. It tasted like card board. A very strong candidate for the worst chicken tandoor I've ever tasted. 1/5 Bihari Kebab: This isn't a traditional BD dish either but it's popular in BD and served in many restaurants. The flavor was okay but the beef had the texture of mashed potatoes. It was inedible. 1/5 After the meal, I had the unfortunate experience of having to use one of their restrooms. It literally smelled like shit. The meal was about $55 with tips (thankfully no tax was added). For a BD meal, that's a ridiculous amount of money to be spending for two people. We had to order a lot of food to make up for the small portions and almost none of it was good. I felt I paid a premium to have a low quality meal so I guess you could say Premium lived up to its name!

Yelp
We came here for tea and dessert after we had lunch at another place. They had a fair share of options, but seeing as its called Premium Sweets I thought they'd have more options - specifically Roshgolla or Rasmalai (some very traditional bengali sweets). Still we got a couple to share between the two of us and each got a cup of tea, which was delicious. We did notice the food options they had as we walked and they all looked appetizing. Hopefully next time we're in NY we can find time to stop by and have a meal there.

Yelp
This was my first experience at a Bengali restaurant and I was very happy that a waitress walked up to offer help as I blankly stared at an unmarked buffet table. She happily pointed out all of the vegetarian items (lentil dal, okra, mixed veggies, potatoes, and eggplant when I visited) and the prices. The large eggplant slices were $2 each and each other item was $3 for half a serving and $5 for a full serving. I went with two eggplant slices (one for the road), and half servings of all the veggies, minus the lentils. The okra was very good and provided a light, healthy balance. The potatoes were good but not spectacular. The mixed veggies (recommended by the waitress) were also very flavorful and tasty. My favorite was the eggplant with fried onions, although it was impossibly greasy. I spooned off at least a tablespoon of oil from each slice of eggplant and blotted it down but it was still too greasy. I think if it were served over a bed of rice with some greens, it would be better balanced. The server seemed to imply that every dish came with rice. I told her I didn't want any rice and she seemed shocked. She offered roti instead. I hesitated but said I would try one. I didn't really want any bread but figured I might as well try it since it came with it. Wrong. It's $2. Not a ton of money, but annoying to pay for something I didn't really want in the first place. I told the server that she had implied rice or roti come with the dish and she didn't apologize or anything, just said everything is separate. I guess now I know.

Yelp
I had been tempted after my meal here to write a review gushing about my experience here. Oh, the strange familiarity of the meat-stuffed bread snack we started with, subtle bitterness of the red collard greens, the spice of the curries, the juiciness of the chicken drumstick, and the sweetness of the rich milk tea we finished our meal with. The dessert selection alone deserves a shoutout. This would have been tempered by comments about the chaotic service, the toughness of the goat, the unclean tables, the dried-out naan, and the general oiliness of the food. The result is a 3-star review: authentic fare, with many dishes you won't see in typical Indian restaurants, which makes a case for exploring Bengali food without blowing you away. However, I waited a full 24 hours to write my review and ended up being kept up most of the night by indigestion. When I finally made it into work, most of my coworkers reported the same-- not feeling 100%, though no vomiting as far as I'm aware. And the Bengali coworker that took us on our expedition to Jackson Heights was nowhere in sight. I may cop to having a delicate constitution, but something wasn't right here. If you do go, play it safe and don't try to eat the whole menu.

Yelp
This was the best Bengali food this American girl ever tasted. My fiancé is bengali and so I have tried many foods but this is by far the best I have ever tasted. The tea was so awesome and the rice was cooked perfectly and was the perfect texture. Loads of flavor without being too spicy. I didn't walk out of there with a runny nose so that is a plus. I highly recommend going during lunch when they have all the options on display and it's very reasonably priced. Much better than the places in Chicago. Yeah

Yelp
This is one of the worst restaurent in Jackson Heights. Mostly they sell 4-5days old foods. I got sick after eating their DalGoat Curry. I had severe direaah after having their food. One of the odd things i have noticed sometimes they sell Old foods in cheap price. But they dont care about quality.

Yelp
Sorry to say that I had very bad experience there, very poor customer service, put trap on price, didn't get accurate order, on the top they had wifi but don't provide the password. I don't prefer this one if you take guest there.

Yelp
What's worse? Consistently on the low or starting of on the right food and gradually sliding downslope? Unfortunately my experience at PSR was the latter. PSR as I had remember from a couple years back, used to be one of my go-to Indian food places in Jackson heights. Food 3/5 We ordered our staple early this afternoon: -beef biryani with lentils: my previous experiences here with their biryanis were a bit on the bland side, hence we tried it lentils this time. Flavor-wise it still lack a few spices, texture-wise too mushy for my preference with rice since they added lentils to this, it tasted like uncle bens and mash potatoes. -goat curry: highlight of the meal. The same curry I've been craving this past year. However not as spicy as I had remember from the last time I had it. And the fish curry, our take at being a little adventurous today. Something about this fried fish steak in sweet sauce reminded me of Chinese home cooked food. Came with a complementary lentil soup which was also unmemorable. Service 2/5 Food was brought to our table promptly since the restaurant was not too busy during lunch. However my complaint was that they over charged us for rice which was only $2, which they took off the bill after we brought it up. After paying and leaving I realized that there were a total of 6 items on our bill which came out to $34. We only ordered 5 things including a chai tea, so I definitely felt cheated. All in all, this visit at PSR will likely be my last.

Yelp
Bengali restaurants can be scary. Heard a lot of good things about this place. Decided to stop by for some paratha and chicken. Wasn't disappointed at all. Decent service, and paratha was made fresh, chicken I'm not to sure about but flavor was there. All in all my experience was good. Not sure if I would try the buffet items. Who knows how long they been sitting there. Even though people constantly pick out items from there. Tea (cha) is pretty good.

Yelp
Every time I go to New York I end up coming here with my family. And every time it is more or less the same experience. They do have a lot of food options and I like the vibe of the place. The problem I have with this place is that they have left over food that they use. If you go at the right times (when it is busy) you will probably get it fresh. But any other time, there's always a chance it's been sitting there for a while. I went here for dinner and ordered a mango lassi and I overheard the workers say that it was from yesterday. Taste wise, the food is pretty solid. Nothing amazing but regular good Bengali food.

Yelp
Food was average, but service was worst. They changed different to different customer. They they have breakfast special $5 NaN/ruti +dall/vegi + cha. But they charged +6 for vagi $6 for dall $3 for ruti $3 for cha on same day to different table. Please make sure the price before you order or pay. Or they will rob you pocket.

Yelp
I don't love this place for Bengali food as much as other people seem to be honest. Went here for breakfast the other day and the prices were heavenly. two paratas, aloo bhaji, and a hot tea only $5!
