"Upscale Damen Avenue cocktail lounge and eatery Presidio is calling it quits on Saturday. Management wrote on Facebook that “the Presidio team has come to the difficult decision that its time to close our doors for good” and “it’s the right time to begin our next chapter.” Owner Patrick Cullen told Block Club that he has had the space on the market but hasn’t found a buyer, expressed displeasure with local food media, and urged Chicagoans to support neighborhood spots. It opened a little over three-and-a-half years ago in the former Bluebird space next to Hot Chocolate at 1749 N. Damen Avenue." - Daniel Gerzina

This is one of my fave restaurants in Chicago! I could come here for the drinks alone but usually stay for a meal. The food is incredible and carefully prepared and presented. The flavorful details keep me coming back and the service is outstanding. Everyone on staff really cares about your experience. I will admit I was sad to see the crispy broccoli replaced by cauliflower for the summer, but the cauliflower was the best I'd ever had, so it's a fair trade. I WILL be back for that broccoli, though.

The Pork Loin with grits was fantastic, as well as my sazerac and pumpkin spice panna cotta. Great atmosphere and service to boot. Highly recommended.

Loved it. Tried the arugula salad, fish of the day and affogato. Everything was very tasty, the service was friendly and the ambiance is inviting.

I had a great time with my date there. The setting was nice. Couches, bar and tables. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our server made some wonderful recommendations and very accommodating when we wanted to switch to the couches. The other staff members refilled our water and had the sauces ready. I highly recommend the crispy broccoli. The sweet soy sauce with it was amazing. The couscous was amazing too. Wasn't a fan of the lamb meatballs though. It may have been the fact I was expecting beef but it tasted a bit dry. Overall i liked the Presidio. It's pricey but worth it.

Nice ambiance. Food was ok, the starter (I think it was cauliflower) was incredibly salty - a gross inedible level. So salty that I wasn't able to properly taste my wine and remaining dinner. Not sure what happened, but at it's price point you expect the food to be consistent and edible. Can't speak to the scallops and steak since I couldn't really taste it. Nice presentation of the food, but pretty small portions.

Don’t miss stopping in this place. The decor is great. Their menu is very nice but I can’t get past the cheeseburger. When you know what you like..... Great cocktails and amazing selection of liquor. The mescal collection is enormous.
