Beautiful park in the Presidio, just a year old. Great place for a picnic, family gathering, or a stroll. Close to the Palace of Fine Arts. A pretty cool one of a kind kid's wood playground. Il Parca Cafe serves up great options for breakfast & and lunch, and if you want something different, there are food trucks as well.

Google
A very nice place to show our visitors. It offers a gorgeous view of Golden Gate Bridge, Crissy field, and the bay. Alcatraz is quite far but visible. Our visitors enjoyed the open space, the panoramic view, and the ride there. Yes, we left our car at Golden Gate Park and took Waymo there. Our visitors were thrilled by the robocar and the stunning views along the scenic route. Highly recommended!

Google
One of my new favorite spots, so gorgeous. Beautiful views, big grass section for sitting with some chairs available. Lots of benches, next to the lagoon, walking/biking paths, beach, dog area. Food trucks and permanent food vendors. Nice kids area.

Maria Camarena

Google
Such a great spot to come with the family. A ton of open space for kids and dogs to enjoy with gorgeous views of the GG bridge and Alcatraz. Definitely a great place to visit and have picnics or just take a stroll.

Google
Beautiful use of this historic military base that, as kids, we only ever dreamed of seeing. Hats off to Pelosi for securing this land for public use! The expansive lawns to kick back on with pups and friends, having lunch from an amazing food carts (recommend the Bulgarian one). The fire pit is huge and a nice warming spot before pulling up a rocker to watch the views of the beautiful iconic bridge with kite surfers zoom below. The playground isn’t your average playscape; it’s broken down into 4, with natural wooden structures to climb on. Style and sustainability had to be the priority when building. 100% nailed it on landscaping and trails. Utilizing the restored historic structures to become businesses like restaurants, Inns, there’s a movie theater and so much more to see and explore. I will return. It’s clean, family and friends friendly. Please allot at least an hour for the visitors center alone, and the gift shop is a fantastic gift buying at reasonable prices.

Absolutely loved this park. Great oasis with a view and wonderful offerings like playgrounds, comfortable seating options and a campfire. Such luxuries for the commons!

Google
Cool place with an interesting history. Watch the film at the visitors center then wander through the gardens and check out the views.

Google
This is such a peaceful place with a nice view, especially on a sunny day. I love the red chairs and there are plenty available! As well as some picnic tables. The playground below is nice for children. And all of the food trucks on the presidio parade lawn are a nice convenience and usually there everyday.

Yelp
Fun time with the kids ! Can get a little crowded on the play structures There are good food carts & restrooms around the location Great views of the golden gate !

Yelp
Amazing park! Very family friendly and variety of parking options near the main lawn area next to the Disney Museum or adjacent to the park. On a sunny day, this park is great for views, family outings with little ones, or meet ups with friends. There's also a neat visitor center that has alot of educational experiences to learn more about the ecosystem and variety of habitats in this area. Nearby at the main lawn area, there's also a food truck area that serves food, making picnics even easier. Note: it looks like an expansion is underway which is replacing come of the parking lot space that previously belonged to Sports Basement. The kids playground is out of this world. I appreciated the effort to incorporate as much natural landscape into the design of the playground and have it flow very seamlessly into the design of the park (instead of installing the pre-fab play areas that you see at a typical park). Definitely will come back again!

Yelp
This is an oasis in what once an iconic military establishments quarters. Lush greenery enfolds a vast park carefully curated by botanists who love San Francisco so much that they dedicate much of their time to its upkeep. There are numerous play areas for children to frolic with their families. It is also very leashed dog friendly! The views of the Golden Gate Bridge are breathtaking offering a 360 degree display of downtown. It's magical and tear inducing due to the nostalgia it invokes.

Yelp
There is a reason this location has a 5 star rating. This is a lovely park with a pristine green area and plenty of parking. They have food trucks and a cafe where you can grab a bite to eat and clean public restrooms. You can get a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge here while relaxing and taking in the gorgeous weather or you can stroll the many paths along the tunnel tops and enjoy the greenery and views of other iconic sights like the Palace of Fine Arts. This is an easy and affordable way to spend a few hours in SF and I highly recommend a stop if you haven't been.

Yelp
My little family enjoyed this place! Nicely landscaped and convenient park. We played a little soccer on the grass and fun time running around with the kids. Beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge! It was nice to have food options as well, food trucks. Clean bathrooms near the restaurant-- a plus.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a new San Francisco gem and has great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the bay. It also has an amazing playground that are older kids still loved. It must be the best kids playground in the city, maybe even the Bay Area. It' was so nice to hang out here and walk around while our kids entertained them selves in the playground. Great place for picnics. Great even for a quick visit. Parking was easy, it was free when we visited
google avatar

Yelp
It's so beautiful here! So many great views, plants, seating options, grassy lawn, art (yay mosaic!!), play stuff for kids...I especially loved the Adirondack chairs with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge for sunset! Parking was a little hard to come by but the bus seemed to be stopping pretty frequently on a busy Sunday. Great spot for locals and tourists.

Yelp
What a beautiful public park in the Presidio with amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay, and downtown. This has plenty of benches, picnic areas, natural climbing structures, and hands-on activities for kids 1-12. It's also lovely enough to visit without kids if you want to relax in a clean, well-maintained outdoor space. There is surprisingly a good amount of parking, as well as a free shuttle. On weekends there are pop-ups for coffee and ice cream. There are also bistros on-site. Double check the rules about dogs beforehand--it is on National Park land.
google avatar

Annabelle R.

Yelp
This is a beautiful park, located right across the field where Off The Grid Presidio Picnic used to take place on Sundays. And as of fall 2024, presidio pop up food vendors can be found throughout the park regularly (vendors and locations for each day listed online). There's also a picnic pavilion and cafe (Il Parco) selling european themed treats... my bf got me an extra dark chocolate bar with hazelnut and a zero calorie cola, everything was quite delish! There's plenty of paid parking nearby, a good amount of tables and seating on site including wooden benches that look like spaceships, clean restrooms, play structures for kids, paved pathways, gorgeous flora, scenic views looking out into the water and the golden gate bridge, and a well maintained grassy lawn perfect for picnicking or napping, which we took advantage of while we were there this past weekend.
google avatar

Yelp
This area and park are so pretty ! There's lots of green, historic buildings, and if you're lucky to come here on a clear day, you can see the bay and the golden gate bridge ! They even have a really big gift shop and restaurant in the park. At times, I have also seen food trucks in one of the parking lots there as well. The parking, thankfully, does not cost too much. Also, the times I have been here I have been somewhat rushed (i.e., I needed to be somewhere soon after), so I would love to just one day take a nice, leisurely stroll around the area.
google avatar

Troy H.

Yelp
This is a great park with great views. This is one of the most unique as you have views of the Golden Gate Bridge which is truly spectacular. You are able to enjoy some great walk time with the family and dogs as you enjoy the views.

Yelp
If I hadn't been with locals, Presidio Tunnel Tops wouldn't have been on my radar, but what a fun find! It's the perfect place for a packed lunch, a visit to a food truck (of which there were three), or a nice afternoon walk. Clean restrooms, a visitor center, and water bottle refill stations. Only downfall is the paid parking.
google avatar

Yelp
Visited San Francisco with my parents and brother for the day. Decided to visit a place new. Wow- Presidio Tunnel Tops was beautiful. An unexpected beautiful space. Very peaceful. The day was very clear- we could see Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, San Francisco skyline and Palace of Fine Arts. There are lots of seating areas, picnic tables, a natural looking playground, lots of flowers and bushes. It is probably very busy on the weekends. Definitely visit this gem! I want to come back with my husband and kids.
google avatar

Tina L.

Yelp
They put an incredible amount of detail to this space. It's beautiful and large and while on top of a busy freeway it still feels like you're getting away from it all. I initially was here to take my kids to the park but we did some exploring of the grounds on a weekday of course because crowds are not for me or my kids! The space is amazing and so vibrant. We caught SF on a a moody but warm day. We went to the visitor center, found the clean coed bathrooms, and explored all the grounds till we made it to our destination. Definitely a beautiful space on the off peak times. A tourist destination for sure but very nice space when it's not crowded. I can imagine this space can hold so many people. Pass for me because I like to run, play, skip, and hop in peace. Food trucks of all varieties and just so many cool spaces to chill. We enjoyed our time!

Yelp
What a beautifully renovated space that uses both the landscape and the hills and it is just a perfect spot to bring kids to play and experience San Francisco at its finest. You get amazing views of the Golden Gate, Bridge, Alcatraz, and the city scape with open lawn and amazing places to sit. The weekend when we went, had food trucks and music, and it was quite lively despite the cold weather we encountered. We also grab some food nearby and they have an awesome spot to get hot chocolate and tea if you need it. I will definitely return when we are back in the Bay.

Yelp
Beautiful add on to this original park . Paid parking or you can take a shuttle up to the location . I haven't been in a few years , but just as serene and beautiful as ever . Great views of the golden gate and now a new park for the kiddos down at the bottom of the hill with an interesting concept that encourages imagination and creation . Love it.

Yelp
This place is breath taking. Great for a scenic walk, picnic, Disney museum and just watch all activities going on. Expect to see many friendly dogs, laugher all around and stations for learning about nature around. Did I mention the AMAZING SCENERY? Give this place a visit, it is worth it hands down!

Yelp
What a refreshing addition to the Presidio! Fam and I would usually visit the Presidio for the food trucks and picnic area and now there is another expanse of beautiful landscaping, ample seating, educational and entertaining areas for kids, more food trucks - all with gorgeous views of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge (on a clear day that is). I've been here twice so far and it's simply beautiful and relaxing walking through the park, breathing in fresh air, spending time with fam. They have fun top-like seats that let your weight guide the direction you spin in the elevated area, playgrounds and a field study house for kids on the lower level. There are public restrooms, water fill stations, outdoor picnic tables, wind-blocked seating, grassy areas for picnics- this place has it all. There is paid parking near the food trucks and in the perimeter of the Presidio square.

Sandy S.

Yelp
Beautiful park that I was finally able to see. Beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, palace of fine arts. It comes with a place to learn about it's construction and it's also a place for kids to learn and play. It's a must visit when coming to San Francisco!
google avatar

Yelp
I don't normally write reviews for parks, but here I am raving about Tunnel Tops! A quiet oasis on the outskirts of the city, this well-designed park has one of the best views of the Golden Gate Bridge on a clear day. Perfect for a weekend stroll and great for families with young kids, since it's mostly flat and has an amazing play structure. Paid parking only in the Presidio, but easily accessible by bus.
google avatar

Earlene C.

Yelp
This is a picturesque park with creative play structures that will keep your little ones curious, active and throwing a tantrum because it's time leave! It's a gorgeous place to be on a lovely sunny day. The view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay is oh so pretty! The grounds are well kept and designed in a way that gives enough places for everyone to chill even on a busy day. Plenty of spots for grownups to sit and relax while keeping an eye on your kiddos playing. Take a short walk up to the Main Parade Lawn to get a bite to eat. There are plenty of food trucks most days. Bring a picnic blanket or find a bench or adirondack chair to enjoy your meal. There is a cute little museum that you can learn about the history of The Presidio. Walt Disney Museum is nearby too. There is plenty of parking. We usually park at the Sport Basement parking lot. Make sure to buy your parking permit!

Yelp
Love love love. One of my fav places in the city. Such a gem. Perfect for a picnic and nice stroll with milllion dollar views. Food trucks and dog friendly. Great place for kids to run around. The renovation to the area is phenomenal. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I came here for an evening walk with my friends on a sunny winter weekend and was absolutely delighted to get some brilliant views of the SF Bay area peninsula. The Tunnel Tops allow you to walk all the way down to the beach from the parking area and while parking can be a pain sometimes, I'd recommend being patient on weekends specifically. There's ample seating spots available throughout the area so you can always grab a quick break if and when needed.

Yelp
This park is a wonderful addition to SF's green space. Located near Crissy Field and the historical waterfront area of the Presidio, it features scenic bay views, SF skyline, a visitor center, a playground and so much more. It's $3 paid parking but close enough to other areas where you can walk from. I've visited twice. First time was a summer day that was packed and again last weekend during the rain with practically no one. The grounds have some short walking paths and you can take in views that also include the Palace of Fine arts and the Golden Gate Bridge (was fogged in during my visit.) There are picnic areas, clean restrooms, food trucks and an overall fun community vibe here. Excellent park to enjoy scenic views, stretch your legs and get some steps in. Really cool park!

Yelp
Quick take: Great addition This is a nice place to walk around. Picture perfect views. Very modern and sustainability designed park.

Yelp
They say sitting is the new smoking... so get out and go for a walk. Don't let the children sit in their room and play video games - scoop up the pups and go out and play. A beautifully remodeled park. Natural materials were chosen for benches and structures as to blend in with the surroundings. Very tasteful in design. Views of the Golden Gate bridge and surrounding areas. Went during a foggy day and all that could be seen was the tip of the bridge. San Francisco can be like that but probably to get the most enjoyment try to pick a more clear day. Rules of the park are posted as you enter. Dogs need to be on leashes, no smoking, no tents and I remember one bizarre thing: no balloons. I suppose of you plan on tying a balloon to your kid so you can more easily keep track - thats a no no. One tip - I'm fairly certain smoking weed here is a big no no. Many get used to the no laws no rules of most cities. This isn't part of the city - its government land and so do your funny business elsewhere.
google avatar

Vanessa H.

Yelp
Amazing! The play structures are like works of art - jumbles of logs, a basket, water pumps for faux gold mining, and an abundance of birds. You can go down the stairs and cross the street and walk along the marsh (and/or cross over to the beach) Be sure to stop by the spacious visitor center, too - lots of interactive exhibits and maps.

Yelp
We arrived in time for their Ranger Talk, next to the live fire pit. The talk was about Natural Springs in the Presidio, very intriguing. Then we walked through the Outpost nature playground and decided to play in a section to climb a huge fallen tree. We took pictures of our shadows. This visit was so much fun, I was smiling from ear to ear, it made me feel like a kid again. A bit later, we were surprised to spot a food cart for GIO Gelati; we ordered mango and passion fruit favors, both were delicious. The Field Station center was closed at the time so maybe next time. Lastly, we took in the views of the Golden Gate and the bay, what a beautiful sight. Thank you Presidio for building this open space for the public to enjoy.

Yelp
The Presidio Tunnel Tops Park is built on top of a tunnel, but it doesn't feel like it at all!! This awesome park is located next to the Presidio Visitors Center and Transit Center. There are all kinds of walking paths throughout this park, but the best thing about this park are the views!! You get a great panoramic view from the Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz, Downtown SF, to the Palace Of Fine Arts!! And although it feels far away because you're up high, your actuality within walking distance to lots of places, even the Sports Basement is just down the stairs. Along with the walking paths here, there were a few interesting places to sit, I wouldn't call them traditional benches, more like big long wooden structures which you could sit or lay on. The restrooms are located in the Transit Center. I came late on a Saturday so the food trucks were leaving when I got here. And it also wasn't too crowded that day either, a very chill experience here!!

Yelp
Finally came to this beautiful spot on a Wednesday during my child's spring break. I haven't been to this area for a while so the tunnels to get to the park were new as well. We had trouble finding the actual park parking lot, but really you can walk anywhere and park where there's space. But we wanted to park in the sports basement lot. You have to pay to park. The park itself it's beautiful. Great for all ages. So many different things to climb and build and so many different sensory areas as well. You can build your own hut, stack blocks, sack rocks, Sand area with water, a cool swing rope, slides and just many different things to climb. This place is clean so please pick up after yourself. There's plenty of trash areas. No dogs or alcohol allowed. They have a science area where you can learn from a worker there. They also had a small library of books to enjoy and read. There are plenty of areas to sit and sit with a table to eat your lunch or snacks. They do have a bathroom, but i didn't go in it. I'm assuming it has to be nice. I would love to come here again. You can spend hours here. We were here for 3 hours in and out of the tunnel top along with walking up in the grass area. It's beautiful spot you can see everything from there basically. Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, etc. your in SF! Make sure to bring extra clothes for your kiddos just in case they get wet with the water feature Area they have along with the sand. Don't leave any valuables in your car, bring snacks and food and call it a day!

Yelp
After hearing about the construction of Presidio Tunnel Tops Park and in July of 2022, I was looking forward to seeing it in person. The Park is a part of the Presidio national park space and is completely free and accessible to all. The 14 acres of park with 180 varieties of native plants is in the heart of the Presidio and was ingeniously built over Highway 101 and connects the Main Lawn area to Crissy Field. The Park offers scenic views of the Bay, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. The view you get can be clear to foggy and cold and windy depending on the day. There are lawn areas and picnic tables with grills that can be reserved. There's a two acre play area for kids to swing, crawl and climb on play structures. My first visit was for an AAPI music event at the Lawn Area, where they hold special events during the year. On my latest visit with my hiking group, we took the free PresidioGo bus from the Embarcadero for the 25 minutes trip to Presidio Transit Center next to the Tunnel Tops. We visited the Visitor's Center, walked the Park and down to Crissy Field and walked to Fort Point and return for a nice 4 mile walk and took the PresidioGo bus back. The 43 and 30 MUNI bus comes to the Park too. The Transit Center has a nice restroom facility and tables to sit down and enjoy your own food or from the food trucks across the Visitor's Center. Tunnel Tops is a beautiful addition to the Presidio. A nice place to kick back and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Yelp
The Presidio used to feel like my own private national park. It was my go-to spot for meeting SF and Peninsula friends. Even on public holidays, it was uncrowded and parking was ample. All that has changed. My loss is everyone else's gain! Really, what's not to like about Tunnel tops? The ability to walk easily from the main parade ground to Crissy Beach is amazing! We used to be able to fill a day around the main parade ground alone. You could spend days now between the tunnel tops overlook and the beach. The big draw is the playground. If you have a dog and young kids, make sure to have two adults present since dogs aren't allowed inside the playground. The nature-created space is amazing. My kids used to spend hours just playing around Andy Goldsworthy''s Tree Fall. This is 100x more exciting. The sluice is particularly popular and I approve of anything that helps kids wash their hands in a public space. I have a feeling the rock pit for cairn building will be replaced at some point. That kind of seems like a few hundred accidents waiting to happen. The large public bathroom across from the playground remains clean and attractive even a few months in. While the food trucks are a big draw, they are almost prohibitively expensive. I recommend bringing your own food. Especially if you can pick up takeout dim sum at Good Luck Dim Sum nearby. I miss the old quiet Presidio, which could feel practically like mine alone, but the new tunnel tops is an amazing family friendly space that shows off the best views the San Francisco Bay has to offer.

Yelp
Spectacular newish installation on top of the Presidio Tunnels. The views- outstanding The incorporation of natural materials to create play areas is phenomenal The drought tolerant landscaping- fabulous The entire design is magnificent Extremely family friendly Bring a picnic and go! Also, food trucks are parked nearby if you choose not to bring a picnic.

Yelp
San Francisco has developed a great space to walk, relax, eat, drink , and enjoy great views. This is my favorite new space in the city to walk . A great place to get some room to breathe.

Yelp
Gorgeous views of the Golden Gate Bridge! A huge stretch of grass located by the parking lot is so perfect for kids and dogs. The playground is really impressive. There's a fun water trough system with handle pumps that all of the kids are interested in but don't worry there's a place they can rinse off their feet and hands by the entry way. Make sure you bring towels and extra change of clothes for little ones! The bathroom found in the building adjacent to the visitor center is frustrating. There are so many entry points that people are unsure of where to form the line. Next, there's no divider between people washing hands across from you while facing you so you will for sure get splashed in the face and maybe even inside your mouth a little if you are unlucky enough. That was almost me. Did y'all hear that? Someone else's hand washing water landed on my lips! Almost into my mouth! Terrible bathroom design.

Yelp
Loved hanging out under the magnificent cypress trees. The cafe was nicely stock and friendly service!

Yelp
Beautiful park with gorgeous views of the bridge and amazing photo-ops. Take the winding path down to the Crissy Field center and take more pics across the street with an even closer view of the bridge. Along the way there is ample space to spread out, as well as a fantastic children's playground with structures made from eco-materials.

Yelp
It would've been near-impossible to meet the exalted expectations behind this spanking new 14-acre park after what felt like the longest gestation period for a patch of greenery. Plans were well underway at least since 2014, and the "Coming Soon" banners felt more inevitable than the park itself. First things first, yes, the panoramic views of the Golden Gate and the rest of the north bay are fabulous. That was never a question as there are many such vista spots including the one at nearby Battery Bluff Park, the little sister space that opened just three months ago (review: https://bit.ly/3Qi0rUj). The one thing Battery Bluff did better than Presidio Tunnel Tops is make the vista outlook point more of a design element that invites people to sit and appreciate the view. Currently the one here is just part of the walking path where you'll likely be dodging cyclists intent on speeding through the circuit of paths. The benches are a lot cooler though as they have a uniquely undulating design made from the local cypress trees. There are also plenty of substantial picnic tables, a nice feature that still allows for social distancing and appears to accommodate the number of food trucks that were parked in the lot. The Presidio never felt like one cohesive space (not that it needs to as a former military base), so the park does add value in connecting the Main Post with Crissy Field - even if it's more visual than logistical. After all, you still have to cross the vehicular traffic on Mason Street. Much of the landscaping needs to mature before it feels like a more bucolic space. Right now, the lawn spaces feel like pods where family activities look curtailed by the walking paths. Im certainly glad the park has finally opened and ended our suspense. It's a good start, and part of me still has a fantasy that it could more emulate NYC's High Line somehow connecting to Battery Bluff. I can dream, can't I? RELATED - Exploring the Presidio? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/3ALAAfr

Yelp
This is an amazing place and I can't believe it's been here since 2020 ... how had I not discovered it? This park was built over an underpass. The tunnel tops lead basically from the ocean back onto the Presidio. There are great places to sit and have a picnic. One of the most impressive places is the playground ... all the structures are made from weathered wood and rope. I've built quite a few playgrounds at schools but none came close to this natural beauty. This is a pet-friendly park with leashes required. ADA accessible. Do not miss it if you're in the City. Parking available at many places in the vicinity of the Presidio Visitor's Center. Also: food trucks at the presidio lawn which is just a short walk from the Tunnel Tops.

Yelp
Grand Opening Day... Presidio Tunnel Tops is the new community park that SF needed! Huge 14 acre oasis with nicely manicured lawns, play structures for the kiddos, and gorgeous waterfront views of the bridge and Alcatraz..if you can catch it on a non-foggy day. Lots of picnic tables including ones in an enclosed space. I've never seen The Presidio area so packed before; it's no longer blissfully quiet... 1st tip: Until the hype dies down, get there early for parking. The various parking lots were packed by 11 am so lots of circling around. 2nd tip: There's lack of clear, proper signage that you have to pay for parking at one of the machines. It's $3/hour or $15/day (CC's only). Print out the receipt and put it on your dash. 3rd tip: It's windy so dress in layers! And, don't wear flip flops...I kept getting gravel inside mine. 4th tip: Bring doggie poop bags! There was only one station I found near the restrooms. 5th tip: Bring snacks and water. The lines for the food trucks were hella long (there was also a booze truck) and some staff seemed overwhelmed. Rotating schedule; check out the website for the schedule. Bring the entire fam bam including the fur kids...AND enjoy! P.S. - Gender inclusive restrooms with communal sinks. I see some of you fellas NOT washing your hands after touching your wee wee. =/

Yelp
Perfect place to spend the day with friends, family, or even alone! There are plenty of playgrounds and activities for children, including both indoor and outdoor elements. It is also a great spot for picnics, as they have ample seating and green areas. They also have food trucks, parking, and restrooms. On a clear day you can see the Golden Gate Bridge and you can also walk around the presidio!

Yelp
We loved the park! Next time however I won't bring a stroller as it's easier to go down the steps waking.

Yelp
What an amazing view we had today. We have been coming to the presidio to walk and enjoy picnics for years now. The way they have now transformed this area is amazing, lots of walking trails, sitting areas, restrooms, and awesome food trucks. A little of something for everyone. The playground is one of a kind, I wish I was a kid again lol. This is one of our favorite places to walk.

Yelp
Visiting Presidio Tunnel Tops is such a refreshing breath of fresh air. In the past few months, San Francisco Chronicle has been strongly pandering the narrative that the city is in a doom-loop and is the last place you'd want to visit if you can help it. One visit Presidio Tunnel Tops and I assure you'll be convinced otherwise. If it weren't so difficult to get to for folks without a car, I believe Tunnel Tops can be as popular as Delores Park. The views here are immaculate. On a warm sunny day, you'll see tons of people picnicking, playing lawn games, hanging out, etc. This is the perfect stop to hang out with a large group of people. If you have the foresight to make a reservation, you can also secure a picnic table with a grill as well. If you have kids, there's a cool service center with activities they can check out, as well as a jungle gym, located in the lower area of Tunnel Tops near the Sports Basement parking lot. As the park is still relatively new, everything in the park looks gorgeous, including the plants, the seating, the grass, etc. If you visit on a Saturday, you'll also have the option to grab food nearby at Off The Grid. If you're visiting San Francisco and haven't been to Tunnel Tops, you owe it to yourself to check it out -- you won't regret it.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic! Something for everyone, every dog, every biker, photo buff, nature lover, runner, walker, people-watcher, lover of fabulous views, and kids of all ages. The play area is first class creative, fun, interesting, and will keep kids entertained, active, challenged, and having a blast for hours. The food trucks will tempt you with lots of great variety. And there is a donut truck near the play area. The vistas are breathtaking. Paths are well planned--you can walk for hours and miles. Parking is easy and plentiful, but not free. And, each lot has its own meter--so guess your time correctly as lots are patrolled and your parking voucher won't carry over to another lot. There are many great picnic areas with tables and benches for groups, and chairs and tables for smaller gatherings. There's a few sheltered areas, if it happens to be inclement. The design has made for great spaces and a seamless connection of the Presidio park lands with Chrissy Field, the Marina Green, and all surrounding bits.

Yelp
There's never really a down size to visiting a National Park especially this $118 million project. There were so many aspects to this park: the campfire, the picnic tables, the red lawn chairs & thumb tack chairs that allow you to rotate around when you move it, the beach, the mini water area that my dog loved & couldn't get enough of. There was a discovery area to explore & a Children's climbing area,as well as a once live tree that has now been sanded down & hallowed out so that children can explore inside. What's also great, is the variety of food trucks dispersed throughout the park & events to encourage people to visit. I spent about 2 hours there & feel like I only explored a small portion of this beautiful park, so I'll be back in the very near future.

Yelp
Wow, the Presidio really transformed since my last visit to SF in 2019. What an awesome park! Tunnel Tops was a 15 minute walk for us from where we stayed, so I can't speak to the parking situation, but I found it to be super accessible. What a genius idea to build the park over the highway and connect it to Crissy Field. Park covers 14 acres and offers stunning views across the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz. We lucked out with clear and sunny days during our visit. The trails are beautifully lined with plants, there's a ton of lawns for kiddos to run on, and the cypress wood benches and playground are especially unique because the wood comes from reclaimed Presidio cypress trees. We found the park to be very clean as well. I hope that the city and community will continue to uphold the current state it's in because it was pretty much perfect!

Yelp
SF has a ton of parks you can hang out in but this park offers amazing, unobstructed views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the city skyline, Alcatraz, etc. I usually hang out in the grassy area where you can lay out a blanket and enjoy the views. This park is so clean and I hope we keep it that way! There are also several benches, seats, and tables. There are also several picnic tables with grills that can be reserved.

Yelp
We came on a gorgeous day in San Francisco. I didn't know that much about the Tunnel Tops prior to arriving. But what a wonderful place it is! If you come to the Tunnel Tops by car, just pay for all day parking. We thought we could cover the Walt Disney Family Museum and the park with 3 hours parking. We were wrong. Just pay for all day, lest it's foggy and cold. We were so impressed with the design of the park. There's so much space for people to recreate in so many ways. I especially like the many styles and quantity of seating in the park. Also there are many tables for people to enjoy picnics in groups or solo. The playground looks like so much fun. The lawn areas were getting lots of play. And the field station with friendly guides and many ways to learn about the ecosystem around the Presidio is terrific! There's already many awesome pictures shared about this park. It is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the outdoors and the amazing views of the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. Don't forget to catch the free shuttle that goes around the Presidio. There are lots of place to hike and see even more amazing views from the hills south of the Tunnel Tops.
