If you are a member of this club, you are truly privileged. Food and alcohol at affordable rates, right opposite the new parliament building. Have no doubts, it’s worth every penny. Little crowded during the weekends. Restricted parking. If you are not a member, visit as guest of a PCI member!

The Press Club of India, established in 1957 by veteran journalist Durga Das and inaugurated in 1959, is not just a club but a historic institution for India’s media fraternity. Located at 1, Raisina Road near Parliament House, it has been a hub for journalists, writers, and thought leaders for over six decades. With more than 4,000 members today, the Club offers excellent facilities—conference halls, media centers, dining areas, and lawns—along with regular discussions, press meets, and cultural gatherings. Its democratic structure, with annually elected office bearers, ensures that the voices of journalists remain strong and united. Most importantly, the Press Club has consistently championed freedom of the press and stood by media professionals during critical times, from raising concerns about restrictive laws to supporting journalists in distress. Its legacy, infrastructure, and advocacy make it an iconic landmark for both Indian journalism and democracy.

Situated at just beside Central Secretariat metro station gate number 2. There is a small market just beside this. One can have tea, coffee there. Press Club house is very quiet. Very well known place for journalists. It is a important place to organize press conference.

The Press Club of India is a convenient and popular venue for hosting press conferences, especially due to its central location and easy accessibility. It offers a formal and functional setting that serves the purpose well for media interactions and official announcements. However, when it comes to food options, the experience leaves much to be desired. The choices are quite limited, and for the quality and variety provided, the pricing feels unreasonably high. For instance, they charge ₹550 per person for a very basic vegetarian menu, which doesn’t quite justify the cost—especially for event organizers working within a budget. While the venue is suitable for press events in terms of infrastructure and reputation, there's definitely room for improvement in terms of menu quality, variety, and pricing. Better food offerings at more reasonable rates would significantly enhance the overall experience.

A nice, small place with a lovely open courtyard where one can meet and find quite many media people. The food is also quite good and economical. Had veg pasta in white sauce. You need to have a reference from a member to make entry at the reception. Sit, relax, converse, spend quality time and even work if you wish. Parking is a bit tricky though. Two parking spaces available - one for the members and the other for the guests. But difficult to find a spot.

Entry only for members. Guests can go with members with an entry fee of Rs. 50. You will find many veteran journalists sitting there. Every table has its unique discussion on various issues along with delicious food.
