Pret A Manger

I visit this place often because I’m on their beverage subscription. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciate. However, the quality of the drinks has been inconsistent. The biggest issue is that my cup is often only 2/3 to 3/4 full, especially during rush hours. Since I’m on the subscription, I usually let it slide, but if I were paying full price I’d be pretty frustrated to get less than a full drink. Overall, it’s a convenient spot with good service, but they really need to improve consistency and make sure customers get the full value of their order.

Good iced teas and latte, personnel very nice and patient. Service super fast. Maybe the space can be organized better with more seating. In general, a good place for a snack or refreshing drink.

I ordered from Ubereats and every time there’s something missing and it’s frustrating considering I’m still a paying customer. I JUST got my order from ubereats and I’m missing a drink. Ubereats is waiting 48hrs to issue me a refund because poor service. Not only that I still had to end up buying additional food from Dunkin Donuts because I have people over. So not all that, yall have cost me to spend more money. DO NOT ORDER YOUR FOOD FROM HERE!

I've ordered from them via Uber Eats several times, and almost every time the order is messed up. Today's order they forgot one item, gave me the wrong item for the potato chips, and the sandwich was cut in a way that made it difficult to eat. I won't be ordering again, unless I'm there in person

I am a Pret regular and even have their subscription, but this location is always severely understaffed and wait times are crazy long with severe delays even when preordering online for a certain time. The workers are doing their best, it is clearly a management issue.

I give one star because here I met the rudest cashier in town. Zero courtesy. If it hadn’t been for a kind colleague of hers, I wouldn’t have been told the bathroom code again — she had mumbled it to me under her breath the first time. She made me feel like an idiot. I will never come back to this place.

Walk inside, look to your right, you will see many descriptive words... So, this pret is the exact, definitive opposite of all of those descriptions. Training is suggested. Your only competitive advantage is your subscription. Literally no single other reason that I go there.

The employees here couldn't be more rude and crass. The lady in the picture didn't even make eye contact and did not even confirm what I'm ordering. When I asked did you get my order she didn't even reply. She was just working on cleaning and getting ready to close the shop, putting all the stuff on the counter like it's her living room

Pret a Manger, for being a chain bougie coffee & sandwich place, is reliable for good quality basics similar to Starbucks. This location has been decent--the food is always freshly made and delicious. Prices are your typical $10-18. Has a student discount of 10%! This location has long wait times during the lunch rush when every single staff member is fulfilling coffee orders instead of checking people out. I also found the payment platform to be shady--I tapped my card to pay, then a second payment request came up on the screen as if the cashier expected me to tap to add a tip I didn't agree to. One time this got me; I thought the tap-to-pay didn't go through, but then checked my bank and realized I inadvertently paid for an extra tip. Just a heads up.

Came here for some iced matcha latte. Ordered the pink guava matcha latte and it was ok. I think a bit more sweetener was needed and it would have been perfect. This place sells other items, too, but I only tried the latte.

Often drinks that I order on the app are out of stock, which the employees only tell me after I've waited for my drink for 15 minutes, or they take so long to make because the employees just procrastinate making it to the point where customers who order in person get their drinks much faster than customers who ordered in the app. Ordering from Pret (and waiting for the order!) is just a tedious exercise in patience.

Iced coffee was delicious and the service was very quick. I also liked the brownie bites. The tuna salad sandwich was very salty. I would suggest adding less salt.

I ordered the Rainbow Veggie Sandwich and it came out to $10.34. It was really flavorful and tasted healthy in a good way. The sandwich still tasted fresh, which was surprising. However, it's a small serving size for the price. I do think it is way overpriced. However, kudos to them that the vegan sandwich was cheaper than the meat sandwiches (sometimes other restaurants will make the vegan options more expensive than the meat options).

My company is based at Columbia University this summer, and I needed to find us some competent and delicious food places to purchase our lunches for our staff and students. Angel, the manager at this location, is friendly and makes sure our order is ready and correct. There is a good variety of options at Pret. Their sandwiches, wraps, and salads were all delicious. My personal favorite is the Pret Banh mi chicken sandwich. Everything is packaged correctly for easy distribution. Store is clean. Employees are also friendly.

A disabled Black woman came in here for a snack. Instead of giving her the time and space she needed to peruse the menu, she was asked to step back from the counter and instructed by your employee "not to steal anything?" Incredibly, undeniably gross.

It took them a front desk employee, AND a supervisor, AND a store manager, to get my simple and straightforward order of a strong (double shot) cappuccino right. First, they failed to prepare it right; lukewarm cappuccino is not right! Then they replaced it with a "regular" lukewarm coffee instead; I paid for a cappuccino! Then they finally got it right, blaming me, then their machine and the procedure, anything but an apology, let alone a cookie as a gesture of goodwill. My lesson: look elsewhere, down the street or around the corner!

the people who work here are kind or rude at times but i can't blame them --they are real trooopers for dealing with all the buzz of students, faculty, and tourists coming and going, keeping them fueled! you get what you get at pret

It's amazing that some locations are still open. Freshly made sandwiches, cold wraps, salads and hot Melton your mouth croissants. I love the ginger shot and plain hot croissants

Sometimes the coffee tastes a little burnt, but the oat milk iced lattes and flat whites do hit. There are new vegan options recently-- almond butter protein bars (just stocked!), a Mediterranean hummus bowl, nut bar, açaí bowl, fruit, oatmeal. They occasionally have a vegan meatball sub during lunch hours. The almond butter ball is a little powdery but tastes sweet.

This place is a semi fancy hell. The sandwiches are always mismatched or missing an ingredient. All the people that work there are never sure of what is going on but the go to slogan is "sold out" - at 9am...they open at 6:30am. This place is like the DMV, if the DMV served food. Plus you pay full price for half the serving advertised. It's unfortunate that this establishment is in a high volume area. Another Duane Reade, Chase Bank or Starbucks would be more useful and sadly, that is saying a lot.

service was HORRIBLE!!!! They don't keep the tickets for their drinks so you don't know which one it is when you pick it up. When we asked the staff about our hot chocolate, they said someone took it and they will not make another one. The coffee was ok but the employees were beyond rude.

Chatty Bunch Brand-wise, this location resembles all the other Pret A Manger restaurants. However, the staff can be a little chatty to a fault. Some staff members are a little too engaged with their own conversations to focus on the customers. Don't get me wrong, the service is fine during off peak hours, but it can be a bit of a pain during lunch and morning rush.

This location is fine though it wanders far away from great. I come here because they have quick vegan options for lunch during work/quick pick-up snacks in between classes. The food I get is normally simple such as the pre-prepped soups, etc., so you would be hard pressed to mess that up to a level of distaste. However, the staff here seem to have exceptionally low levels of tolerance and personality. I just ignore it, get my soup, and book it out. Thankfully I do not order anything at the counter, because that seemingly has a high possibility of a disastrous result in my order, as the staff members are often distracted and irritable.

I've been to all the coffee places in morningside heights and the service here is unparalleled. I changed it to my daily spot a while ago. The staff and service are exceptional! Amazing tasting healthier "fast food" options or buttery flakey almond croissants and amazing deals and all you can drink monthly coffee subscriptions make this coffee shop as good as anywhere else. It's more of a grab and go type of place so there are often tables if you need to sit and sip, or work on your device while sipping on a cold brew with extra whole milk and pumpkin spice syrup! I don't normally do reviews but this place--or rather it's staff--deserve all the recognition! Given them raises I say!

Food is as expected and standard across the States - we have several in Chicago, and the everything bagel I ordered with cream cheese tasted just fine. Nothing out of the ordinary, but nothing particularly outstanding either. Service was speedy, but I did get grilled a bit on my coffee choice. I'm sorry, but at 7am without my morning coffee, I can't very well comprehend the nuances of coffee sizes and styles...so, that feeling of judgment aside, the staff was quite accommodating and efficient. I didn't really stay too long since there wasn't a queue, and I was in a bit of a rush. The space itself is wide open and conducive to collaborative meetings or introverted romps on your laptop. Decent enought barista background music. Again, nothing I would write home about. Solid coffee chain for students, but nothing crazy.

This afternoon I received poor, and possibly racist, service at this location just south of Barnard College and Columbia University. I was standing at the counter, waiting for staff to assist me and no one did. In fact, one young Hispanic woman who was standing behind the counter while holding either a mop or broom glanced at me and said nothing. As soon as a white customer approached the counter, this same woman immediately assisted the customer. When I said I was before the white customer, I was waved off by this employee, who said she was already ringing the white customer up. This behavior is inexcusable, especially in a neighborhood filled with international students and in a city as racially diverse as New York'. If your employee can't deal with Black customers, she should not be working there.

Although it's a fast food chain restaurant in the truest sense of the word, I'm glad that there is a Pret A Manger joining us in the old Vine Sushi spot in Morningside Heights! With its vast array of fresh and often healthy grab-and-go items, it is sure to provide a nice option for people in the area (especially students and staff), especially when they're procrasti-rushing to class and don't have even 5 minutes to wait for Starbucks, Dig In, Junzi, or Oren's. They have anything continental you could want, from wraps and salads to Mac and Cheese and thick brownies. Welcome, Pret!

Your cashier people are very rude - this location is bad. I go to school at Columbia and frequent this location often. It's sad because I love the food and it's always fresh with nice healthy options. I was treated very rudely which is a reoccurring theme there with all the workers behind the registry. Maybe it's because it's a busy location and they are tired but some normal decency would be MUCH appreciated.

They do a good job at this Pret. Considering half the year it's overrun by Columbia students and that's only gotten more so with the coffee subscription--which is a good deal so--but they somehow make it work and I'm always impressed. The coffees pretty good and the sandwiches are good too. American Pret might not be the same as British Pret, but the staff tried their hardest to make it great and they succeed. I think I've noticed the manager running the deck like the captain of a ship. She's impressive and so is her crew. Idk how they do it with the constant inundation of students for hours. But they're always prompt and timely. My only complaint is sometimes the music is a little loud, and there probably should be another location on the UWS. Keep up the good work 115th st Pret.

Cafe is closed for 20 minutes early on Weekends. I bought Premium Plan but I cannot use it properly. Moreover, there are no milk or meal.

Egg overcooked cheese burnt, avacado tastes off. Avoid at all costs, Starbucks one block away- just go there. Also expensive

Nasty customer service was received when only a simple help of obtaining fork/straw/napkins. One of two female staff gave me an attitude and ignored me while had me wait for 4-5 customers to be taken. No apologies given whatsoever. Pre a manger- shame on you on your customer service training.

Healthy,clean, delicious and great service! When I found out I was coming back to Columbia for a conference I knew right where I'd go f9r all my meals- Pret! What's not to love?! Firsts of all it's always spic and span with many seats to sit and eat drink or work- the food... every single thing is delicious! The salads are loaded with the freshest ingredients and the yogurt pots are the best I've ever had- love the egg frittatas and the soups are perfection! And... brownies and cookies will never disappoint! I love you Pret! Thanks fir keeping me healthy happy and well fed on this trip!

The food at Pret is always great across the board- fresh, quick salads, bowls, soups and sandwiches. Not to mention their yogurt and chia pudding!! The best thing about this location is the staff! They are always awesome, helpful, kind, and friendly. They always put a smile on my face! You will stop for a quick bite and leave happy to face the day :)

Love the actual Pret A Manger brand and this physical space. Feel the service is severely lacking. Staff behind the counter are so self-involved with their 'in the clique' banter, that grabbing their attention to be served is too much to expect it seems. A little more actual customer service as opposed to friends hanging out and serving being a secondary task... Not impressed.

Soup container 1/2 full. When I showed them they said it's full??? Not a very positive response, no offer to fill the container! Don't go here if you're hungry.

This a haven of damn good vegan and vegetarian friendly food. They have sourdough options, vegetarian, allergy info etc. It's tough as hell to find food that isn't meat here or weird hippy dippy bird food. Love the staff. They put up with a lot of entitled people.

I come here almost every day. Simply out of convenience. Its located right next to the 1 Subway station entrance/exit and right across Columbia University. The people who work there, 90% of the time are rude. Why is there no cream cheeses for bagels at 8 in the morning. I dont understand how they can run out so early in the morning.

I was so excited when Pret opened this new location, but now I find I am consistently disappointed. They open late a few times a week (more 30 minutes late sometimes) and they can't seem to have the hot breakfast items stocked when they open. It's strange to me that such a great franchise would have this much of a rough start in the first few weeks. The only reason I am giving them 3 stars is because the staff have always been very nice, the coffee is great, and when they do open on time, and have the food ready, it is delicious.

I keep going into this establishment, hopeful that I will have a good experience but it never happens. As of today I have officially given up and will never be returning due to the treatment I received from a male employee behind the counter. THIS particular Pret is letting down the whole company, I've gone to other Prets all over the city and they are all great with friendly professional staff. I really feel that the people working at this location hate their jobs and treat the customers as a huge problem and inconvenience... the guy today said to his co- worker " they are really testing my nerves today" about me and the customers in general, when I questioned something that he had rung up which wasn't correct. Beyond rude. Hope management are reading these reviews. Look at how many are saying the same thing about the terrible customer service!!!

I had a really positive experience with Dominic. He was the only one working the register, so it was busy, but he made sure everyone's request was heard. He baked and brought bread out for me (bread was out). It was a small gesture that really made my day.

This location is nothing but frustrating. Their phone doesn't work, and they cancelled my Uber eats order multiple times. When calling, no answer-why? Phone is out of order. Ever since then, they're no longer on Uber eats, as it says the location is "closed" but on the Pret website they're fully open and functioning. This makes absolutely no sense. How am I supposed to ask questions if their phone doesn't even work? Never giving this location my business again.

LOVE the customer service at this branch. They are so friendly and create such a nice atmosphere even when it's busy.

I mean eeeeeeeh. This was my first time to this location. I'm glad Pret finally made its way uptown. Ordered a salad and paid. I ask the girl at the register, how to get the gratis iced coffee/iced tea/ drink on the app. Didn't know that I had to pay for my purchases using the app. I used Apple Pay. linked my card to the app and now I know. I asked for a black iced tea. They gave it to me. Now the salad. Look. You environmentalists are fuckin shit up for the rest of us. The salads are now in a box instead of a bowl and you get waaaaaaaay less. Bruh. This just better be at this particular location. This better be because of a portability thing with Columbia students. Maybe they were out of bowls. There was naaaaan one damn bowl of salad. Bruh/Sis. I bullshit you not. their food stock was paltry and damn near bare to the bones at 6pm. I wanted and got me a salad tho. I'm just leery about this Pret because it underwhelmed my first time here

This place used to be ok until they raised their prices. The ingredients they use cost nothing so you're really paying a premium to eat here. You can get a much more filling meal for less at the food trucks outside Columbia.

Great staff that actually likes each other. Clean and well stocked. Manager constantly trains staff to bring their quality up to standard. Only draw back is the placement of napkins are not in the main coffee larger stacks.

I am a fan of this location. While I generally am not seriously into chain restaurants, I think they did a good job with having plugs and wifi by Columbia, plentiful coffee, and the usual selection of food. For ALL Prets, I wish there were more vegan options!!! Vegan cookies, anyone?

The young barista , the black girl on Sundays makes horrible lattes. I come here once in a while and always get my lattes and she does a TERRIBLE job. My god. I am just drinking hot milk!

This place was amazing when it first opened. But I think is under new management and has really slipped! Always - always - out of basic things like coffee, condiments, milk, etc. Also, the music and employees now are so loud it's hard to even hear yourself think much less have a conversation with anyone you may be sitting with. Needs help.

I like the food, but when I open the package of what looks like a full sandwich, I find there is nothing under the packaging, which I find deceiving. What's more is there are multiple lines, which means there are often confusing holdups, and I leave her angry. The staff yells at you and corrects you when you complain. This place sucks.

I started coming here more frequently out of convenience because Columbia's campus was across the street. I liked their breakfast sandwiches and the yogurt cups and although they were very friendly when I first started going there that quickly changed once I became a regular customer. Their customer service is inconsistent and the people who serve the customers are less than happy to be there. I know it's just a job for some people, hey I respect that, you do what you have to do. However, you can't be friendly and welcoming in the beginning just to fall back into bad habits and patterns and communicate to regular customers through these actions that you don't really want to be there. It doesn't lend itself to a very positive experience for the regular customer, and that's a shame because the food and coffee are very good. I want to emphasize how important customer service is and while the food may be enjoyable, the customer service takes the experience of being at the coffee shop to whole other level.

Above and beyond - temporarily out of light roast and staff offered a complementary latte. Delightful pastries (croissants, pain au raisin) too. Great addition to the area!

Very Surprised by how rude female staffs here are treating their customers. The Store was not busy at all - They are just too busy with having chats for themselves and not attentive to customers waiting in line. And when They get orders, they completely change their face leading me to think I am not welcomed at all. Such an obnoxious attitude and customer service.

Never been here before and I thought it was delicious. Big selection and great stop if you just want a healthy snack. They display calorie count for everything and it all looks fresh!

The food and drinks here are great. The customer service is fantastic, they are so nice and friendly! I love how the food is healthier than other options and their coffee is organic. It is a bit small, but it is very clean and bright.
