Pretty Bird Review - Off Main - Park City - The Infatuation

"A small Utah town might be the last place you’d expect to find decent hot chicken, but Pretty Bird has nailed it. Inside, it looks like a futuristic version of a fast food restaurant, with bright white walls, neon signs, yellow plastic chairs, and a touchscreen order system. The options are pretty straightforward: chicken nuggets, a fried chicken sandwich, and chicken tenders. The sandwich best showcases the sweet, salty, and spicy chicken, topped with coleslaw, house pickles, and the tangy mayo Pretty Bird sauce. Choose your spice level, ranging from no spice to Hot Behind, and be prepared for the consequences—we recommend medium to get a little bit of heat without missing out on the flavor. Tack on a side of crinkle-cut fries to anything you order." - Jené Shaw

Google
Ordered the mild/sweet nuggets, and the Hot Behind chicken sandwich. The nuggets were a little too sweet for my liking but the hot behind chicken had good flavor with just enough spice. It was just spicy enough without being completely overwhelming and gross. If you don’t like spice, I would stay away from the HB, if you love spice, it’s just spicy enough. I will be back to try out the no spice mild flavor see how they compare.

Google
My favorite place to get chicken sandwiches. I treat myself 2x a year since I live so far. The chicken is always crispy on the outside and super tender inside. Their spice levels are legit, and the sandwiches are huge and packed with flavor. 😊

Google
This was our first time at Pretty Bird Hot Chicken. The first thing we noticed was that the restaurant was super clean and very cute and stylish inside! We love the atmosphere and the soundtrack they played was really good. It was easy to order at the kiosk. The best thing is that they serve Coca-Cola products! The chicken took a little bit of time coming out, but I noticed that they were making it fresh so it was worth the wait. We got the garlic wings and chicken. Cutlet fries are good but typical for crinkle cut fries. We would definitely come back to this Pretty Bird!

Google
Food is great, but the medium is so spicy.🌶️ Service is basically non existent as you order at a kiosk. Over priced for a full combo of adding drink and fries to your dish.

Google
So this place really is worth the visit. Yeah there’s like a 1000 hot chicken places around, but I had a unique experience here. First of all their sandwich is HUGE. Probably 1.5x the normal size and the price is about the same. Also their speciality, unlike Dave’s Hot Chicken, isn’t their sauce exactly (not saying their sauce is mid, cuz it’s great), but it’s their spices. In some sort of a pleasant but unexpected twist they had some sweetness with the spiciness. It must have been brown sugar or something. Either way it was a dang good lunch, I’ll be coming back. And their playlist is awesome too. I heard Chicago, Led Zeppelin, STYX, Fleetwood Mac.

I visited Pretty Bird Hot Chicken in Midvale last night. I had seen the owner/chef Viet Pham on a few cooking shows and I took my son there to try it out. We were the only patrons about 6:00 at night just before they got busy. We ordered from a very nice energetic guy and the kiosk. The food was brought out to us about 3 minutes later, I was expecting at the prices and fast casual to wait for it to be cooked fresh. The atmosphere is great, the place was well stocked and clean, good music. The food had great flavor the fries were fresh and crispy but the chicken itself was cold and kind of dry from it being not fresh. I was very disappointed in that aspect of our visit and I hope to return and try one more time.

Google
My favorite chicken sandwich joint. Does it feel a little pricey? Yes but I find myself coming back again and again. Plus the portion sizes don’t disappoint. The flavors of their fried chicken sandwich is second to none. I also like their crinkle cut fries with their pretty bird sauce. Does it feel like they are nickel and diming you with charging $0.50 for their pretty bird sauce? Absolutely. Thats probably my biggest disappointment about this place, but not enough to knock their star rating. And pro tip -if you like red slaw vinaigrette, get theirs on the side so you have more to compliment flavors in the sandwich.

Danika M.

Google
Service was amazing. I ordered wrong, my mistake, and she had no hesitation to make it better. Food is always fresh and a very large portion of chicken, which makes the semi-high prices worth it. The lady who helped me and served us was very kind. The only thing I would suggest is that the music isn’t so loud, it has been each time I’ve been here. And I could use some diet Dr Pepper lol. Other than that I love this place.

Yelp
Service is always fast, the chicken sandwich imo is the best in Utah! there purple coleslaw in combination with their house pretty bird sauce is amazing! The acidity & creamy pair perfectly with the crunchy spice of the chicken & levity of the buns!

Yelp
FANTASTIC. That's it. That's the review. The food is fantastic. Go for it, you won't regret it. The chicken is juicy and delicious. I probably could have gone one level up in spice than I thought I could handle. The fries were crispy and flavorful. The corn esquites was super yummy, we loved it! The menu is simple but they nailed it. Seriously, SO GOOD. Great customer service, too.

Yelp
I could make a Kendrick Lamar style beef track on how much I hate pretty bird.. (Note 4 years ago I used to eat here several times a week) I hate how it is soggy and always missing patches of breading I hate how it is not hot & fresh even if you specially ask for it made fresh I hate how it tastes and smells like fish I hate how if you ask for it spicy it is mild at most. I hate that they charge top dollar for a cold/soggy/fishy sandwich I hate that chick fil a has a better more consistent sandwich

Yelp
Spicy lovers, try to go as spicy as you can. The medium was definitely a MILD. So I'm sure the hot is the medium. Don't know about the one with the funny name. Other than that the food was really good, it had great flavor and I enjoyed the fries as well. If you're ever in the area I would check it out!

Yelp
There is a reason Viet wins all the food competitions, even against the great Bobby Flay with this chicken sandwich! Spot on with flavors and freshness. The fries are always a nice accompaniment. But it is also great that you can get a good PBR to round out your meal. Sometimes hard to find in Utah. They stay on top of keeping the restaurant clean and comfortable. The staff is fast and attentive knowing that the restaurant is always busy. The chaos reminds me of a good New York restaurant, and when you know...you know!

Yelp
Have driven by this place a few times and always wanted to try it. Looked up their chicken sandwiches and they looked really good. The price for the sandwich alone was over $14 and the combo was almost $18. Hubby and I decided that was just too much, but I could not stop thinking about the sandwich so told him we're going... Next time I'm trusting the first instinct and not going. First, with tax $20 per person is a lot for a sandwich and fries and a drink. Second, they don't sell anything that has fish in it but the first bite tasted like what fish smells like. My brain says they are using fish seasoning on chicken but I don't know, I just know it was fishy and my tummy was not pleased. So yeah this place is a no for me. They get two stars because the workers are super friendly and hard working, the place is clean, the food came out super fast and the fries are good. But I won't be back.

Yelp
Ordered takeout from here last weekend. The spice level was perfect and the chicken was delicious. I think I got the medium spice level and I liked the kick it had. I will definitely be eating here again!

Yelp
Pretty Bird has been on my list for awhile and we finally were able to check it out for a late lunch. You can order online for takeout or via the kiosks inside if you plan to dine in. Ordering on the kiosk was easy, you grab a number and they bring your food out to you when it's ready. Our food was ready pretty quickly. I tried the Fried Chicken Sando combo with mild spice and my partner got a three tender combo with no spice. Both combos came with a side and a drink. The sandwich was huge and I enjoyed the spice flavor (even though I'm a wimp and only got mild). The pretty bird sauce was also good. Fries were crispy and you get a large portion. The interior was clean, as were the bathrooms, and we enjoyed our meal! I will say the price is a little steep (about $20 per combo after tax) for fast casual, but the quality was there so that's fair.

Yelp
I don't know how this place can get anything other than a 5 star. I have been here NUMEROUS times and each time it has been AMAZING. The chicken has a perfect season with any heat flavor of your choosing. It is always plentiful and filling. The crinkle fries are also very good! The sandwich, nuggets, or tenders are perfect each time. You do order your own food and just pick up at the window, so you don't have much service interaction but they have always been relatively quick for something made fresh.
google avatar

Yelp
This location is fairly efficient fast and clean. With the onset of hot chicken, extending from Nashville and every other block has a chicken chain this is the only one in Utah that I think it's consistently delicious and delivers quality!
google avatar

Alisha L.

Yelp
Oh Pretty Bird. My husband and I have been wanting to give you a try for awhile now and tonight we ordered chicken sandwich combos using Door Dash. Now I'm sure this is a different experience then ordering from the restaurant but with what our food looks and tastes like I don't believe we can give it a try. Our food is pretty dang cold, fries are pretty stale, pretty seasoned (to much) & soggy, and the chicken is uncooked/discolored. This pretty bird experience wasn't so pretty.
google avatar

Holly A.

Yelp
Wanted it to be great but it really was just okay. The breading just kinda fell off my fingers and the pretty bird ranch had a weird tang to it. The husband liked his sandwich and that is where they gained some stars back. His combo ran him 19.00+ and mine was around 20.00 not exactly worth it for the quality of our meals if you ask me. Menu is also super small.

Yelp
The best hot chicken sandwich in Utah. Service has gotten faster since they were a little corner store. The regular sandwich is huge and I love their corn salad.

Yelp
Cluck, cluck, cluck, mother trucker! You want some good fried chicken sandwich, then come and enjoy it here. This is such a great place to eat, they are so courteous and very friendly and kind. This is just a nice casual place to enjoy with family and friends. Thank you

Yelp
The experience I had at Pretty Bird Hot Chicken was one to remember, and for all the best reasons. I actually don't remember hearing about this new location opening up but I could not be more excited. I was in Lehi, it was lunch time, and I was craving hot chicken. I used my favorite app to find some suggestions, but was even more pleasantly surprised to see that I wouldn't need to drive all the way to Salt Lake City to get good hot chicken. So I pop over to see that the people were right...there is a Midvale Pretty Bird location now! It is right on the corner by R&R. I was honestly expecting it to be really busy but it was not bad. This meant easy parking and quick ordering. I would imagine that even when they are in a rush, there is still lots of parking. I walk in and see that they have iPads to the right. They had four iPads on a counter that were ready to take our order. This is how you place your order. Now, I thought this was pretty offputting to begin with. I am not the biggest fan of the robotic world and then I was a little confused why there was 4 or 5 staff members there. I will touch on this topic more later. Anyways, the iPad was easy to navigate and I appreciated that they had pictures to go with the items. I am not sure what system they use but props to them for using a system that is ridiculously easy to understand and navigate through. I debated between the chicken sandwich meal or the tender meal. I have always ordered the chicken sandwich meal when I visit Pretty Bird but I decided I wanted to try something new during this visit. I also needed to get a few extra sauces because I knew one cup was not to going to be enough. Again, I was a bit skeptical of this process in the beginning but it was surprisingly easy to go through the iPad and pick out everything I wanted. Immediately, when I sat down at the table of my choosing, the girl working brought me my drink cup. She was so nice from the get-go. It wasn't too much longer until my food came out. Everything was hot and fresh, but also seemed like I didn't get more than two blinks in at the table before the food came out. Now, back for what I was going to say earlier...if you think the iPads have replaced the customer service at Pretty Bird, I did too, but you are dead wrong. I haven't had such good customer service in a MINUTE. Not even at 5 star sit down restaurants have had this quick and friendly service. If anything, it seems to me like they did a reorg and decided to put their customer service in other areas than "What do you want to eat?". Seriously, from the moment the door swung open and I entered, to the moment when the door swung open and I exited...everyone was AWESOME! Even as I was leaving, the girl offered to give me extra sauces for the road and everyone said "thanks for coming in" and "have a good day". The overall atmosphere of the place is cool...they have a pink ceiling and have also ensured they incorporate their blue Pretty Bird color into the building as well. I really loved the decorations and felt they were cute and modern. From the neon "Hot, Hot, Hot" sign, to the cool lighting fixtures, they really went all out with this location. If I would've had a notepad with me, I would've been taking notes. This is one of the cutest restaurants I have seen in a while. I feel like it is a little bit different, compared to their downtown location and their sugarhouse location. The downtown location doesn't even have indoor seating. The sugar house location is big but I am almost 100% sure they did not have the cute, pink ceiling. I would have noticed lol. On top of that, they have a spacious, uncovered patio. The patio had plenty of tables and chairs all over the patio and it seemed to sort of intertwine with the patio at R&R. As far as the food goes, it was great. It was everything I was dreaming of, and more. I really loved their seasoning that came on the chicken. Although, I think I can upgrade to a hotter level next time. The spice level I got almost tasted sweet. The fries were great but definitely weren't quite *as* good when they got cold. The seasoning was really packed on there, to the point that it fell off, the moment you touched it. I am not sure I liked their pretty bird sauce that much this time and I am not sure why...I think it was a bit too heavy on the mayo. The ranch was good...I've had better but it pairs nicely with the chicken and had a good consistency too it. I also think it's a bit too...Mayo-ey. The prices on the items did seem a bit steep, but I guess it didn't phase me too much because the quality of their food is parallel to the price you pay, in my opinion. Everything was phenomenal at Pretty Bird Chicken. I am excited to see them migrating more south like a gaggle in September. Even then, I am excited to see them expanding in general. They deserve it! Thanks for such an amazing experience, Pretty Bird! I will definitely be back and will recommend this location to all my best buddies.

Yelp
Food was delicious!! Well-fried chicken, the cabbage was incredible, and the sauce was even better. I expected slightly more from the bun, though. Corn salad was delicious!! Although, could do without the chickpeas, so I'll ask for those off it next time. The ambiance was nice, and the staff were friendly.

Yelp
We order from here a lot. I've had both medium and hot, I prefer medium bc it's more enjoyable to not have my mouth on fire. Everything is good here. Service is fast and they never get my orders wrong.

Yelp
Celebrity Chef Viet Pham has done it again with another location for Pretty Bird! We are extremely lucky to have this gem spicing up the West Jordan food scheme. So happy to have Pretty Bird down the street from me instead of having to drive all the way to SLC to get my fix! Absolutely love their chicken sandwiches! This is not your average chicken sandwich. You get what you pay for, and it is worth every penny here. I tried Pretty Bird downtown a few years ago and have been hooked ever since. The quality of the food at this location is just as good as the downtown & sugar house locations. Excited to hear that they will soon add a mini version of the chicken sandwhich as well as chicken nuggets. The ordering & payment process on the tablets are quick and easy. The staff was really kind. Love the space here. The high ceilings painted magenta (to stimulate appetite) and aesthetic design for the seating space and open kitchen is gorgeous. My husband & I wanted to stop by again the very next day on the way to a camping trip, but was short on time. Haha. It's that good. Can't wait to get my chicken sandhwich fix here again soon!

Yelp
Congrats on your newest location! We were excited to bring an out-of-town friend to try this place. It was late evening, before his flight back to Honolulu, so the restaurant was not busy at all. Here's our dine in experience: 1. Lots of parking in the shopping area. While there is a competitor fried chicken place nearby, you'll want to give this restaurant a try. Walk in and it's SUPER clean with happy staff, and awesome music playing! 2. Ordering at a kiosk means that you can browse their menu and not feel rushed. They have multiple stations and you pay by card. Note, if you order an alcoholic beverage with your meal, you'll need a manager to check ID then enter a code before it let's you proceed to payment. 3. They bring your food to the table and it is Delicious. The buns are fresh, the slaw is tasty. And the chicken...OMG the chicken! Big juicy fried chicken that is nicely seasoned. Perfect crunch effect by the way. Now I understand how Chef Viet Pham beat Bobby Flay twice LOL oh, and you can order the slaw/pickle/sauce on the side to ensure proper crunch effect :) 4. Fries are fries and I suppose we'll have to return and try their other fry sauce flavors :) 5. Thank you for the late night hours and making this delicious fried chicken sandwich available in our neighborhood. Thank you for not making us feel rushed to leave at closing. Oh, and thank you for playing Prince the entire time :) We shall return!

Yelp
The fried chicken sandwich at this place is a must-try. The crispy and juicy chicken, combined with a little kick of heat, makes for a flavor explosion in your mouth. But it's not just the chicken that makes this sandwich so amazing. The pickles, slaw, and sauce all add their own unique touches, creating a perfect balance of flavors and textures. And the portion size is big enough to satisfy any appetite. In conclusion, if you haven't tried this place you're missing out. It's the ultimate sandwich for anyone who loves fried chicken and wants to experience a flavor bomb in their mouth. Don't wait, head to this place and take a bite of this heavenly sandwich.

Yelp
Got there around 1:45 pm on a Saturday. Luckily it wasn't busy so we were able to get an open spot for our little family of five. By 2:15 it started getting busy and most the seating was being used. We used the iPad kiosk to order our food. I got a Fried Chicken Sando Combo: included a sandwich with toppings, side: fries (street corn, slaw, or fries), then a drink. I bought an extra side of fries for my kids but one would have been plenty for us to share. You do have to pay for sauce which I think it should come with one then pay for extra sauce. They do however have ketchup and mayo inside you can get in sauce cups. You also get to customize the heat level you want for your sandwich: none, mild, medium, hot, very hot. I got the mild and it had a little spice to it but not bad. The sandwiches are huge! They brought out our food super fast like less than 5 minutes of being there. Everything is bright white and well lit. There's lots of outdoor seating that would be nice for summer. The bathrooms were cool too, they had an automatic sink with water and a hand blow dryer. Overall, super delicious place, a little pricey.

Yelp
Great new location with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. It is pricy for chicken, but the quality is always good and consistent. Chicken tenders were juicy and the flavor was spot on! The sandwich has a lot of breading but the chicken wasn't dry. The slaw also added some crunch and freshness to the sandwich. Their fries were not oily and were cooked perfectly. You can choose the level of spice. I've had hot and have had mild, and I can't complain with either. The portion is pretty big so sharing could be an options too.

Yelp
I have literally waited years to try this place and the ease to get in and out excited me. They have made ordering so easy, simple menu means easy ordering on their electronic devices yourself. It does take the interaction from staff away, kinda different, but I like it. Do yourself favor and get the sandwich and fries, ONLY. The sandwich has a great balance of flavors from the cidar slaw and pickles to their sauce. You can choose the level of spice on any chicken item you get. I got mild and medium, neither were spicy to me. They hand season each piece of chicken, they definitely dont miss a spot. The dry seasoning is very sweet, regardless of spice level. Chicken with sweet seasoning is not my thing. Add their PrettyBird sauce and your in for a unique treat. I couldn't put my tongue it, but I finally got it, I think, lemon zest. It's no where near fry sauce, it is a sweet sauce with lemon zest. Not good. I must admit, the chicken it's self was nice and juicy and very large pieces. Fries were fries, nice and crispy which made them good. I can finally say, I've been there and not look back.

Yelp
My favorite place to eat in the SLC area. I love the seasoning and portion sizes. Fast and friendly service and had the pleasure of meeting the owner on my most recent visit. The menu is limited, but if you like chicken, this is the place!
google avatar

Zack M.

Yelp
Overall Pretty Bird Hot Chicken was a good experience. The food service was quick and the restaurant itself was very clean. The hot chicken didn't have the same flavor as the hot chicken I've had in Nashville. It lacked flavor by comparison unfortunately. The cider slaw had an interesting flavor to it that I enjoyed! It was a fresh take and I appreciated that. Good experience and I'll probably give them another shot in the future.
google avatar

Corinne K.

Yelp
Delicious as always. This new location is really beautiful and just as well done as the one I've been to in Sugarhouse. The ordering process is quick on the iPad kiosks, and the service is super fast and very friendly. There's no online ordering here yet, but a manager assured me it was coming very soon. I tried a mild chicken sando this time and it was delicious. The seasoning is on the sweet side. I have a hard time with jalapeños, but the medium is a pretty good selection for those who are spice challenged but want some bite. I'm so glad we've finally got the bird further down south! Lots of businesses and lots going on in this area, though this is the best place to eat in this business park by far. Must visit.
google avatar

Kenny V.

Yelp
Tried many a chicken sandwiches and Pretty Bird holds up! They do great on the portion size - the sandy is more substantial than your Monroes, Daves, Houston TX, etc. I really like the purple slaw they put on. "Spicy" wasn't really spicy at all - perhaps a mild-medium by AZ standards. My one complaint is how long it can take. There isn't much variety on the menu yet waited at least 15 minutes for my to-go order. Otherwise staff was super friendly. It doesn't knock Dave's Hot Chicken from my #1 spot, but it gets in the top 5. 4.5 stars.
google avatar

Alvin T.

Yelp
I have tried a lot of spicy chicken sandwiches in my life and none give me the same feeling of euphoria as Pretty Bird in Utah. This is by far the best premium spicy chicken sandwich and it truly embodies the name as it is also the prettiest spicy chicken sandwich you've ever seen. The acidity of the popping pickled radishes and pickles mixed with the massive chicken piece make a delicious union. I usually get the hot or hot behind, the spice levels sometimes are a bit inconsistent but when they make it well they truly do hit the spot. This place is definitely worth the hype and I'm glad they've opened the new locations over the years.
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
Pretty Bird is overrated! Popeye's has a superior chicken sandwich for half the price and better side dishes too. We ate at Pretty Bird for lunch a few days back, and it was among the most mediocre chicken sandwich I've eaten. The chicken had too much breading, was dry and overcooked, and lacked flavor and seasoning. The fries were nothing special. The restaurant was busy and crowded, and the music was booming, which made chatting during our meal challenging.
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
What a cute restaurant! I love the theme throughout and the pink and teal colors! Upon arrival you order at the kiosk. They are pretty quick at getting your food. I ordered the combo chicken sandwich and I asked for my drink while I wait so I could sip on it. I would recommend getting the fries over the other sides. I got the Mexican street corn and my boyfriend got the fries. Fries were wayyyy better. The chicken here has a unique sweeter taste but it's a huge juicy piece of chicken. I would say it's on the pricier side of fast food as two chicken sandwich combos was a bit over $40 after taxes. But it's good to splurge every once in a while as it's delicious and filling. Bathrooms are so nice and clean as well. Plenty of parking.

Yelp
It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review, and I hate doing it about a brand that used to be such high quality. I had been talking up Pretty Bird to my friend from Philly as one of the spots we needed to try while in town, so it was pretty convenient to find one after we went to TopGolf. Well, he now seriously doubts my taste, and for good reason. I was trying to decide which entree to get, and ended up going with the jumbo nuggets cuz let's be honest, who doesn't love good nugs? I would hardly call them jumbo, and they were honestly so chewy that they felt processed. They came out in about two minutes, which suggests they were prepared well in advance and left under a heat lamp. I got hot cuz I know from past experience the hot behind can be a bit much for me, but I barely felt any spice at all. The fries were equally tough from being under a heat lamp, and had hardly any seasoning. The branding and design is great, but it seems quality is tanking as the chain expands. Sad cuz I was very happy with it in the past but may never be back. I would've been better off going to Chick Fil A, and I basically never go there tbh.

Katie O.

Yelp
We got our food to go here tonight and first off almost walked out based on the price alone. It cost me $35 just for two combos. My expectations were high at that price point. We got our order to go and ended up with the wrong order, which is ok accidents happen. Where we ran into the real problems is there is no phone number nor email nor customer service anything on their website. I got the complete wrong order which at the price point it's at needed to be fixed. I had to drive back which is 20 minutes each way to get the correct order. The employees were nice. I just feel like a phone number or some sort if contact would be nice so I could have gotten a refund and not taken 40 mins extra out of my night to get my food.

Yelp
We have been looking for good spicy chicken sandwiches here in salt lake and this might be the best one we have found! The sandwhich was HUGE! We ordered pick up on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy which was nice. Ordering at the kiosk was easy and fast too. The restaurant looked clean although we didn't stay to dine in. As far as the sandwhich goes, the chicken was cooked well, spiced to perfection and the coleslaw was bombbb. The crinkle fries were also crunchy yet soft. Their signature pretty bird sauce is really good! Not a fan of the white bbq sauce though. They don't offer delivery which is a bummer but it was worth the drive to pickup. I'll be back!

Yelp
Service was great. Food not... Chicken felt slightly undercooked and tasted like fish. Wasn't just mine either. Over priced and under delivered. Fries and service are the only reason to get the second star.

Been to the downtown location multiple times so we were thrilled they opened a location on the south end of town ... So we've been twice now .. and I have to say I'm unhappy .. as much as I love the downtown location I do not like the midvale location.. I'm not a fan of ordering off an iPad I like to talk to a person .. Next, when I haven't even found a seat , and they are bringing the food out ? Well now you are just fast food ( food under a lamp ) .. expensive fast food at that .. cold fries , and luke warm chicken .. not acceptable when people are paying the kind of money they pay to eat at a place like this .. you expect more . I want food served fresh and hot ! Cooked AFTER I order it .. this isn't McDonald's or Burger King .. I'm paying for a fresh experience.. thus my bill .. please address this guys because you are ruining the reputation the downtown location is working their butt off to create with every single order of cold fries and warm chicken dish you serve ... please!!!

Yelp
Average at best - the chicken sandwich at pretty bird is very disappointing. I got the hot chicken sandwich and fries and honestly it was just fine, didn't taste any better than any other fast food chicken sandwich. My bigger grip is that it wasn't even hot, not even mild.

Yelp
I have three chicken sandwich restaurants within five minutes of my house. Here's what set Pretty Bird apart for me: -You have the option of a sandwich on a bun or a sandwich on a roll. The roll is a more manageable size and has more evenly distributed toppings. -The sandwich comes with a special sauce and red cabbage slaw--not just the pickles and mayo every place currently offers. -You could choose your spice level (including no spice--although the sauce still has a bit of a kick to it).

Yelp
This food was a great surprise! I ordered the chicken sandwhich with no spice and it was perfect. I put all of the condiments on the side and put on it heat I wanted. The sauce was ok. It matches the flavors well, but definitely not anything close to fry sauce. The fries were tasty. I ordered in so I don't have any idea about ambiance and service. The only reason I put 4 stars is because I didn't realize the drink was a can for the price.

Yelp
As I get older my tastes seem to be getting more tuned into what I think tastes good or is just mediocre, so take it into consideration my rating. The seasoning on the chicken itself is very flavorful and pleasing to my palate, then you add on the sauce and it elevates it even more. The breading is a bit too thick for me, but still isn't off-putting. I don't like any kind of red-cabbage so I chose to not add it, but have heard that it's quite good if you like that. French fries are crinkle cut that are quite good, if you like the "slaw" that can be too. Service is pretty quick, you order yourself in a kiosk and the staff just brings it to your table, so no need for tipping. Place is clean, only complaint would be not enough places to sit when it's super busy. It is pretty pricey but the quantity makes up for it.

Yelp
Food is very wonderful. Service is a negative. Review your order because it is probably wrong. No number to call and review the challenge of missing product. Ambiance was ok. Seating is extremely limited.

Yelp
I'd been trying to get in the downtown location for awhile but the lines were just too long every time I went. That should tell anyone that is good! We saw a Midvale location opened and went in to finally taste. Was not disappointed! I fully understand the long lines! Canes has absolutely nothing on this place! Not even the same category! This place is epic! Amazing food, amazing portions and damn fast... like stupid fast service!

Yelp
Some of the best chicken I've ever had. The different heat levels are nice. And this sauce is so good

Yelp
I have been to the downtown Pretty Bird a few times before Covid. It was good but not my favorite chicken place. I felt that our visit to the Midvale location was more of the same. Good but not great. We all left perspiring with warm bellies which I guess was the goal. My biggest concern with pretty bird that's how expensive it is. I just spent $25 for lunch. It didn't feel like I got my moneys worth.

Yelp
TLDR: If you want chicken, go to Raising Cane's or Chick-fil-a in Ft. Union, or Popeye's or Zaxby's right next door. If you're interested in spending $15+ a person, go to R&R's and get something that's worth that price point. I want to start by saying the chicken is good, no complaints there. But that's where it ends. OVERPRICED: First, the food is too expensive. at almost $20 for a combo, they're in the same territory as a 3 meat plate from R&R or a lunch from Chili's. The price point for 5 chicken strips, a slice of untoasted bread, fries and a drink should not be that high. Especially considering the bread is just plain bread, not toasted, not garlic, just a $.10 piece of bread. SERVICE SUCKS: Next, they only have dumb kiosks for ordering. That cuts down on labor costs but now I have no one to ask questions to as I order. Like, is the "Hot" just "Hot" or "Tongue melting hot"? (It's the latter). It's also difficult to customize orders and get good customer support. When I brought my order, they forgot the one drink but brought a water cup for another guest. When I brought it up there was a bunch of confusion and they ended up bringing me multiple drink cups. There was more confusion than there should have been over a missing cup. And the sauce, you get to pick one and that's what you get. ATMOSPHERE IS BAD: The seating sucks. There are a lot of tables for 2 but if you have 3 or 4 in your party, it's hard to fit. 5 or more, good luck. Really. There were three in my group and we had to borrow a chair and someone awkwardly sat at the side of the table. While there, several parties came in and walked around looking for a place to sit. They then moved several times to find a spot that would fit them all. It's also a noisy restaurant. All the tile looks nice but if you want to have a conversation, it's hard to hear. Maybe that's why most of the tables are only for two. So, in conclusion. If you want chicken, go to Raising Cane's or Chick-fil-a in Ft. Union, or Popeye's or Zaxby's right next door. If you're interested in spending $20+ a person, go to R&R's and get something that's worth that price point.

Yelp
Sellouts. So so sad. This place went from the best hot chicken in the country to "meh" over night. They removed the BEST thing on the menu "hot chicken leg and thigh on the bone" to become just any other hot chicken place. That's what franchising will do for you. Turned you from a great destination place to chick fil a. Sad. So if you want dry white chicken with too much bread instead of dark delicious chicken. This is now the place to go. So disappointed. Went from "line out the door" delicious to "nobody in the place" with good reason. From favorite to never go again.

Yelp
I was so excited, but to me, the food did not live up to the hype. That being said, the service was amazing

Yelp
I was honestly a little disappointed in the chicken. I got a 3 piece combo "hot" and the heat was great but the breading was interesting and had some sort of sweet flavoring to it. They only give you one sauce and for the size of the chicken strips in that combo they should at least give 2. For $18 I don't think it's worth the hype. Dog Haus in Sandy has an amazing hot chicken sandwich that's definitely worth a try. Not sure we will be back to Pretty Bird though, just not my cup of tea.

Yelp
I was excited to try a new chicken sandwich but this didn't really do it for me. It may have had to do with the fact that it was $13 for just the sandwich. It wasn't the greatest taste either though. Felt like it was more breading than chicken in most bites. I got the medium spice and I didn't have any real spice which I'm sure is nice for those who can't handle it,
