The Best Things Eater Portland Ate in July 2025 | Eater Portland

"At the newish pizza shop housed in Little Beast Brewing, ordering by QR code feels anything but charmless thanks to friendly staff ferrying out crispy, cheese-laced pies; the style lands between the shop’s “grandmother-style” and classic Detroit, with a sharp, craggy cheese rim that crackles at first bite. Chef Justin Moore’s gluten-free crust is thin yet surprisingly airy and sturdy enough for a trio of sauces; while any pie blanketed in blistered pepperoni cups is worth ordering, the Sinful Trinity — slathered with marinara, vodka, and pesto sauces, then finished with nutty Pecorino — was the one that made my gluten-tolerant companion reflexively reach for a slice." - Eater Staff

The Best New Restaurants in Portland, June 2025 | Eater Portland

"This pizza pop-up has landed a home in Little Beast Brewing’s beer garden. Started by Justin Moore, who has worked at notable pizzerias like Boxcar Pizza and Scottie’s Pizza Parlor, Prettyboy’s specialty is the grandma pie, which is rectangular like Detroit-style pizza but with thinner crust. It’s a durable vehicle for toppings and Moore has experimented with some wild ones but for now he’s keeping it simple with pepperoni and cheese options. Any pizza can be made vegan here, and Prettyboy plans to offer gluten-free pies soon." - Zoe Baillargeon

Prettyboy PIzza’s Grandma Pies and Pesto Bites Land at Little Beast’s Beer Garden | Eater Portland

"Opening in the beer garden at Little Beast Brewing (3412 SE Division Street), this new pizza operation debuts on Thursday, April 4 (the article’s lead also references April 24) and is set up to pair pizza slices with pints of Little Beast beer. Pizzamaker Justin Moore — who worked at local shops such as Boxcar Pizza and Scottie’s Pizza Parlor — traces his start to Boxcar owner Odie O’Connor, who “gifted him a beginner’s pizza book” and mentored him; Moore says, “Getting to learn pizza from him, it became very clear that this is what I wanted to do.” He recalls that mentorship fondly: “There’s just something about the way Odie ran that shop, it reminded me that food can be really silly and fun. All his pizzas are named after goofy stuff, there’s always really loud music, and the wallpaper in the shop is really obnoxious and pink — it had been written in stone then and there that, yep, I gotta do pizza.” After baking pizzas out of his home kitchen starting in 2023, showing up at friends’ music shows, and shadowing Scott Rivera of Scottie’s for a year, Moore seized the Little Beast opportunity and focused on pan-style grandma pies: “With a pan pizza, you can be just so ridiculous with it, because it’s such a hearty crust under it,” he explains. “I’ve worked in some serious kitchens, and it’s not my vibe.” That approach yields wilder toppings (buffalo chicken, onions, sauce) alongside a core menu of classic cheese and pepperoni pies plus a rotating “goofball chef choice” pie. Moore highlights the Sinful Trinity, which “showcases Moore's sauces, with everything made in-house,” and comes topped with red sauce, vodka sauce, and pesto. For sides he offers cheesy garlic bread and pesto bites — described as “cinnamon roll-looking things” rolled with pesto inside — and for greens a Caesar salad and a seasonal chef salad (currently a spring salad with poppy seed vinaigrette with hazelnuts and Parmesan). He emphasizes accommodation: “all the items on the menu can be made vegan, upon request,” and he plans to offer a gluten-free dough option once settled (he has a recipe and is, he jokes, “contractually obligated,” since his wife is celiac). The name’s origin comes from an early, imperfect home experiment: “When I first met my wife, I lied and said I knew how to make pizzas,” Moore says. “I made these ridiculous-looking … I hesitate to even call them pizzas. And that was her joke: ‘Whoa, these are some pretty boys you made me.’ And so that’s where the name comes from.” For now Moore says there will eventually be a website and maybe delivery, but “It’s summertime, so you come in, enjoy some beer, or a NA beer, and sit on this cool patio.”" - Dianne de Guzman

One of the best vegan pizzas I’ve ever had.. and I’ve had a lot. I got the hunk pepperoni pizza. It had vegan cheese and real pepperoni on it. It’s a cute 5x7 size that is cut into two pieces. I couldn’t tell that it was vegan cheese at all! So impressed.

Delicious pizza and great beer, we got a pepperoni pizza, the char pepperoni is so good and we had both the Festbeer & the Prettyboy pils. I love that they use premium Caputo flour, it doesn't hurt me stomach like other flours do.

Just had their Grand Theft Autumn. I AM IN LOVE. Tasty, fresh Detroit style with buttery, crispy crunchy dough and just the right amount of Hot Honey. Delivery was great, prices were competitive and the menu isn't overwhelming. The Grand Theft Autumn pizza was less expensive than Scottie's Delfino or Burrata. Excited to have Pretty Boy Pizza in the neighborhood, can't wait to try again soon! 😛

This is fantastic Detroit style pizza, but with a thinner crust. Delicious sauce and limited topping offerings, but still perfect. Lovely outdoor seating area. Trivia in Monday. Lots of interesting beer choices, and you can get flights if you can't decide.

Totally caught off guard by the pizza in the best way possible! Came for the beer but got the munchies and now this might be one of my favorite pizzas in Portland! Got the chefs special and it was perfectly balanced, packed with flavor, and had crispy edges to die for!

You know how when to get pizza, you’ll have leftovers that kind of make you regret getting pizza in the first place? Like it’s been two days and you still have pizza and you do the ritual of forcing yourself to eat food you paid for that you no longer want? Not a problem with Prettyboy Pizza. I can eat this for the rest of my life. I’ve already been here three additional times since they opened. It’s amazing pizza. You need it. I need it. Go now- it’s amazing. It might even be my new favorite pizza in the city.

Yelp
PrettyBoy Pizza nails it--hands down the best grandma pizza I've ever had in Oregon. The crust is perfectly crisp, the toppings fresh, and every bite packs flavor. The cozy, welcoming vibes make it feel like a neighborhood gem. A must-visit spot in Portland for unbeatable pizza and good energy. Sources

Yelp
Prettyboy Pizza... hmm, what can be said about this pizzeria in a bar? It rocks. Less of a pizzeria and more of a bar and beer garden that makes pizza, the patio and chill ambiance are great. They utilize a unique system for ordering that allows the customer to manage their service. Simply scan the QR and order away. Want another beverage or wish to add a salad with your pies? Easy, make all the updates you want our your phone. Pretty snazzy. The pizza - well, more a Detroit style pie than the traditional NY or Naples style found in most PDX pizzerias. Think 'pan pizza' with scant cheese and a delicious crisp crust. Really good stuff. The best part of the dining experience for us was relaxing with our family and enjoying a late summer evening in the delightful patio. Definitely a great place for families who want a meal with lots of fresh ingredients that will make parents and kids happy, and some good beer for the soul.

Yelp
Patio area is super cute, dog friendly, and a great place to bring kids too. There is a covered seating area and some tables tucked in towards the main building. Ordering is something you do yourself via QR codes placed at each table. On a Sunday at 6 pm it took about 30 minutes for the slice of pizza I ordered to come out. This place is more casual so service is minimal- you get your own water, place your own order on your phone, and bus your own table. The pizza is delicious, topped with fresh basil and Parmesan slivers. The cheesy edges get a perfect crust after baking. It's a bit pricey at $10 per serving, but if you're looking for a spacious patio to bring the family or meet up with friends (and their dogs) then this would be a great place!

Pizza is the crip de la chron. Takes a long time but was worth it. Also beer is pretty good.

Yelp
Amazing pizza. It's square style pizza and they also offer slices (aka Hunks) which is like a mini pizza so perfect one. Crust is perfectly chewy and crunchy. All the sauces and toppings are fresh and homemade. Very happy this place opened in our neighborhood....and it's inside little beast brewing if you're looking for it. Give them a try! Everyone working is always friendly and the place has a great patio is also kid friendly too.

Yelp
Best pizza I've ever had. Vegan pizza and hot honey are amazing. The pesto garlic bites were also incredible.
