New Boundary-Pushing Restaurant Machete at the Forefront of Greensboro Dining Reopens | Eater Carolinas

"A neighborhood brewery that closed shortly before the pandemic; its adjacent room proved useful to the neighboring restaurant during reopening, providing additional seating that helped the restaurant spread tables and offer a safer, open-air experience." - Eric Ginsburg

Wife and I out on our date night stopped by prey and very much enjoyed the evening. The waitress was helpful and responsive. Tons of smiles and happy people here. The coconut fried shrimp was fantastic, the burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the tacos were super yummy. We will be back again soon.

Google
Everything is perfect here. Beer is of incredible price in happy hour. Food is delicious and the waitress is super nice and helpful introducing food and drinks. Definitely will be here again. Beef tartare is a must have.

Google
Mmmm not so much fam. I mean, probably top 5 restaurants in the area, but nothing I’d return to. Happy hour slightly worth it, but I wasn’t wowed over the beer selections and food was very mediocre. Cesar salad was very pretty but not good. The dressing was nasty. Water glasses (or the water) smelled horrible. The fries were too crispy and not hot , we ordered fries at happy hour and tried again during dinner. Spicy chicken was tasty, but too much bun for chicken ratio. Fold liked the smash burger, although the bacon was dry dry like it was cooked HOURS ago. The wings were okay. Blue cheese dressing was not. Tacos; the meat was good but cost was INSANE! $8/ taco and you can not mix for the deal price. Super disappointing. Every plate lacked food presentation. Place was clean. Nothing cute about the atmosphere. There is outdoor seating with fire pits. This place seems to be good for the taproom space, quick bite type. Came in on a Sunday evening. Happy hour 3-6pm taproom and patio only. On street parking.

Family and I stopped in for their brunch menu. We ordered the Belgian waffle, breakfast burrito, and birria eggs Benedict. Delicious food will be back for brunch again.

Google
Drinks were good and service was good. Food was good. Happy hour specials were on point. But I just can’t get over the price point. I’ve been in a couple times so far and I’m always blown away by how expensive it is. It’s not an upscale restaurant it’s a brewery/bar. This would definitely be a 4.5 range if the prices were better.

Google
Was taken back by the decor. Don't want to be rude about the type of setting it is but I like the concrete setting. I know you shouldn't mention names but I ran into a "Tree" the food was delicious and the service was outstanding! I was getting pictures of the surroundings with the bushes and the succulents but I couldn't get a picture of the "Tree". Maybe next time they say things get more beautiful with Growth.❤️

Google
Great food, beer, service and atmosphere. Met friends here for dinner and had a blast. Had a delicious cheese burger with egg, avocado, and bacon! Really enjoyed their Birthday Cake beer, very good. Drink it slow, 13% alcohol. Great vibe. Service was fantastic! We’ll be back.

Amber D.

Google
Noticed they dropped tacos from the menu 😔, and service was a tad slow, but the crew was super friendly! Food was 🔥 though! Had a blast on a date day, would def go back for lunch again 👍

Yelp
I only stayed for a beer and ordered the pork belly starter and holy smokes. The pork belly is PHENOMINAL. Absolutely stop in, support local, and eat some good food!

Yelp
This is a review of the Happy Hour only. (I've heard their brunch is amazing.) Pros: Cool ambience Excellent service Delicious fries with dipping sauces Excellent beers Great Happy Hour prices Cons for us: Smash burger tasty, but greasy. Chicken sandwich was deep fried, quite spicy, very greasy. In summary, we're probably not the clientele they're aiming for (seniors), so their happy hour food did not appeal to us.

Yelp
On a recent rainy Saturday afternoon, my fiancé and I decided to brave the treacherous weather and venture out to downtown Vista for Prey's Happy Hour. Take note- they have two happy hours! 3-6 and then 9-close! Glorious! Parking was a breeze right on the side of the brewpub, but I'm sure it wouldn't be that way on a sunny day. We were quickly seated in the bar area- bright and airy. Staff was friendly enough, but Josh stood out- he was the last person who interacted with us. Their happy hour menus differs- and if you ask me, the 3-6pm one is the best! Why? Select Prey brews are 3 dollars at 3pm! Then, the price goes 4 dollars at 4pm, and finally 5 dollars at 5pm. There's something for everyone on the HH menu- whether you want little bites or something more substantial. My fiancé ordered the smash burger, I had baked mussels, and we shared the poutine fries. The poutine fries were outstanding! So, why the 4 stars for this place? Ugh...it's the lack of transparency. There's a 3% surcharge. I get it..it's necessary nowadays. It's not the amount- it's the fact that it's nowhere in the menu in fine print, and since you're paying on a POS system, you don't even know about it until you see your bill. I'm sure we'll be back...but now we know.

Yelp
Happy Hour 3-6 pm (daily) Smashburger ($8 during Happy Hour) - This smashburger was amazing! The beef was juicy and well cooked and I loved how soft and caramelized the onions were. The American cheese melted nicely between the patties and the garlic aioli was so full of flavor that the burger didn't need additional sauces. Highly recommend!

Yelp
As far as breweries go, this please is pretty awesome. They have excellent beer, attentive service and a full cocktail bar, which is pretty rare for a brewery. An awesome happy hour menu paired with some really good food gives this place a huge thumbs up.

Yelp
I love the look & feel of the place. I'm a stout lover and they had 2. A coffee and a coconut stout. We sat outside which was very nice. Great frontside outside seating with a view of downtown vista. Took forever to get a server, had to go track one down. We had the beef tallow fries, Belgium waffles and the stouts. Everything was good except the portion of fries was very small for $11. Probably won't go back but we did enjoy the beer and the outdoor seating.

Yelp
4 starts for their happy hour deal. I haven't tried anything besides what's in the happy hour menu...yet. Considering the quality of the food providing during HH, I will go back. The staff was always very friendly and helpful (I went there twice), giving good recommendations and letting me try pretty much every beer on the HH menu. Beers: I love their Prairie Wolf and the Japanese rice lager. Both are fantastic. Paired with a $7 smashburger or a $9 Nashville hot chicken sando, you absolutely can't go wrong. Food is delicious, especially at this price. Birria tacos are very juicy, moist and well seasonned/tasty. I have mitigated feelings about the "vibe" and atmosphere, it's slightly too cold in my opinion (lot of metal and concrete) but I have never been there when the place is full and lively. Will definitely go back and try more items from their dinner menu!

Yelp
Great Happy hour with tasty food and drinks. The bar area is tastefully decorated and the staff are friendly.

Yelp
Local spot in vista village. Ive been here a few times and usually the service and drinks are good but this time it was not. Drinks were OKAY, we didn't finish them and the service was extremely slow. But, the chicken was very delicious. Props to the chef!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I have drove by this place for about two weeks.... Always said we should go support since we are brewery fans! So here is my official breakdown. The menu looks amazing, prices seem on point. The service from the moment we walked in. The lighting was perfect for this spectacular Wednesday evening. We will be returning!!!

Lindsey S.

Yelp
Food -- The food at Prey is good, not great, and expensive. The mocktails are more expensive than the mixed drinks, so take that for what it is. Service -- Our server was nice, but the service itself was slow, even with only a few tables being full. Ambiance -- Music is far too loud. We couldn't hear each other speaking inside so we asked to move outside. Somehow, the patio music was even LOUDER than inside and we were the ONLY people sitting outside. I'm not sure if the staff prefers the music blaring, but it's a huge nuisance as a patron. Overall 2.5/5

Yelp
Loved this place we got the mezcal wings and they were amazingly delicious, we also got to share the broccolini and it as well. I would definitely go back during happy hour times because they had good deals. I went during regular business hours but no complaints paying full price, we got an IPA & I made the mistake of getting a sweet one called birthday cake, it was good but super sweet and I am more into bitter beer taste, however service was great, very clean and cute place from the inside, I do want to return for happy hour and sit in the very aesthetically pleasing bar. Just as a heads up the parking situation is they have NONE :) & you will spend a minute trying to find free parking, I would still however deal with the parking because I did really enjoy the place.

Yelp
We were driving past and decided to go to Prey Brewing. Wow! What a great choice! We got there at 5:30 and realized they have happy hour from 3-6pm. The hostess quickly acknowledged us right when we walked in and cleaned a table at the bar for us. Our table was right next to a big bright window. They have hanging plants all overhead! The vibe was great! The service was quick and the waitress made sure to ask before 6pm ended if there was anything else we wanted to order for happy hour We ordered the Pork Belly Mac and cheese and Carne Asada Fries. Both were very good and came quickly! The service was so great, all the staff were very friendly and we were checked on constantly. There was never a moment of "where is our server" we will 100% be returning.

Aj O.

Yelp
Another great experience at Prey. I had the pork belly and the wings that Josh recommended and I'm glad he did. Great food and great service. They have a new food and drink menu that slaps. Excited to go back to try something else.

Yelp
Hey Jesse you're so fine, you're so fine-you waited on us the whole time! You over promised and over delivered and we are forever grateful for your prestigious power to ensure we had a pleasant dinning experience in your establishment for Happy Hour. You deserve that Manager crown. "Prey"ing we meet again someday.

Yelp
Hadn't tried out this brewery yet and wanted to give it a go. In the same vicinity as Belching Beaver, Sonic, and where Mother Earth used to be. It's more of a sit down/food place than a microbrewery, so it's an excellent choice to have lunch or dinner with a group. I went for the beers and I was not disappointed! Each one I sampled tasted great. I especially liked the Kairi (Japanese Rice Lager) but the hazy, black rice lager, and mango wheat ale all were pleasant. We only got some happy hour apps and they hit the spot. I first went inside and while there interior has more places to be seated, I preferred the storefront patio to people watch and enjoy the fresh air. Will definitely be returning here.

Michael P.

Yelp
Amy was very helpful and nice throughout our time! We're regulars at this point because of the great happy hour deals and good beers. However, we're pretty disappointed that they got rid of the $7 cevichito! And all ceviche in general for that matter - their recipe was fantastic. Would get 5 stars instead of 4 if they brought it back!

Yelp
Have been wanting to check out Prey Brewing for awhile. Every time I walk past it I'm drawn to how cute it is. I especially love the bar area and the outdoor seating with the fire tables. So when it was my turn to choose a restaurant for our girls' night out, I was excited to try Prey. Since we had a group of 8 I made reservations on their website. I received a confirmation email. Then five days before I called the restaurant to confirm the reservation. They had no record of it. This should have been my first sign. Thankfully the guy I spoke with said it was't a big deal and he made another reservation. I received a confirmation via text. On the night of our dinner we arrived and they had no record of our reservation. Fortunately it wasn't busy and we were able to be seated right away. Service was...weird. We were seated in the main dining room where two other parities were dining. The server took our drink order right away. After the drinks were served we didn't see a waiter for more than 20 minutes. I finally found someone behind the bar and she took our orders. After our food was brought out we were never checked on. No one asked if we needed anything. When we finally got help, my friend wanted to order dessert, but the waiter disappeared and never returned. Finally another server came by to collect payment. About 10 minutes later another server came by to collect payment again. We had to tell hi. We had already paid. In total we were helped by four different people. The food was ok. My friend ordered Pork Belly bites, but were later disappointed old they were out. My other friend had the Boa Buns and the chicken was super spicy. The fries were delicious and crispy. The chicken wings were good and the ranch was made in house and delicious. I had a mushroom taco which had way too many beans. The fish taco wasn't crispy and was soggy. The coconut daiquiri was good but I couldn't taste any coconut. They made a good Pisco Sour. Their wine glasses are gigantic. If you go I recommend sitting at the bar so that you're not ignored.

Yelp
A MUST try! Such a great new local spot!! The vibe and ambiance of this place is incredible! It's unique, industrial and upscale, but not snobby. We had an awesome server who made us feel so welcome. We ordered the oxtail fries to start and split the Bahn Mi Burger. The flavor of everything was outstanding and we can't wait to go back!

Kiva B.

Yelp
The food and drinks are great! Very nice little local spot. Service is always is good.

Yelp
Happy hour was good and atmosphere was great! Haven't had anything else but happy hour items. Great elevated restaurant/bar compared to what is in downtown vista
google avatar

Leah D.

Yelp
I am only giving two stars because the service was great. Super friendly and fast. I also liked the ambiance and am sad because it had so much potential. We only went for dessert and were extremely disappointed. The bread pudding was dry like toast, not moist and dense like a bread pudding. The whipped cream had an odd taste. The apple turnover was bland and the apples looked bad. Both came with a butterscotch sauce that was pure oil and burnt sugar. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be back based on that.

Leah Y.

Yelp
Wish I knew what it was like to eat here. We walked in and were greeted by a big bald guy. He gave us water. We then proceeded to wait no less than 15-20 minutes with our menus closed, staring at the bartender and other servers. The big bald guy was busy talking to the customers, ignoring us. It was pretty egregious. We gave him 5 more minutes while staring at him, watching him joke around, talking and laughing with multiple people sitting at the bar and bussers. Eventually we just got up and walked out. Still even then, no acknowledgement, didn't even notice. We were right in front of him. Every staff member was distracted. Won't go here again.

Yelp
If you happen to be in Vista and looking for a decent place to eat,... ok Prey might foot the bill. Is it a restaurant that I would seek out as a must? No. Ambience is lacking. Can barely hear the person in front of me and the restaurant was only half full. They definitely need to invest in sounds absorption items on floors or walls. Truffle Fries were amazing, burgers were okay. I think the burger patties were precooked because the meat was not warm, more room temperature. The wine pour for a $17 glass was sad. The beers selection offered a variety of choices. Overall, it was okay. Expectations were high due to all the great reviews. Wish them the best.

Yelp
The food and drinks are great. I've enjoyed a date night as well as a team dinner with my coworkers. Each time, their staff was excellent, and always attentive.

Yelp
We stopped in during a big festival. It's a nice modern space. The bar area looked fun. Oxtail Birria Burger was very interesting. The burger was encased in fried crispy cheese. It's a bit spicey with big flavor. This was my favorite. The smash burger and classic cheeseburger were both better than average. The fries, including truffle, were also good. The service was terrible. We waited 20 min to place our order. One order came out wrong. It took another 20 min to find someone to fix it. We had to take the corrected order to go an hour after sitting down. They comped that. They said they had an issue due to shift change.

Yelp
BLOWN AWAY. We are foodies. Check my stats on Yelp. We do this. My wife nudged me off work early with the promise of drinks and apps. Sure, I said. Signed off. Not many places serve spirits. Tons of BEER. Tons of WINE. That's fine. But not for us. This place has high-end cocktails. Very, VERY, nice for Vista. She did a quick Yelp search and we wound up here. To be honest, I was not expecting much; boy, oh , boy, was I wrong. We ordered each of the three tacos: fish, mushroom, and birria, $4 for a small bowl of consommé was not ideal, but it was tasty. Each taco. Banged. Each bite was well seasoned. We were surprised. Head Chef/Back-of-House definitely know how to throw down on food. I typically do not do sweets unless baked by my wife who is an amazing baker. She suggested we try the churro bread pudding. I begrudged and had the best dessert I have had at a restaurant in years. We already have plans to go back. Do you?
google avatar

Yelp
I got excited to hear that a new brewery opened up in Downtown Vista that I wanted to check it out. I didn't know that they were on a soft opening since last Saturday so I felt super lucky to try out this place. Parking was pretty easy to find on a Wednesday late afternoon. And this place inside is pretty nice. I didn't know they had some food selections but we decided to get drinks only so I decided to try out a cocktail called the Murder Hornet and I'll say that's one of the best cocktails I've ever had! Definitely a go-to drink if you like "spicy" vodka. The bartenders were really nice and friendly too and they've mentioned that they're adding more beers to the list as they have more taps available but they're still testing to see which is good. Looking forward to see what other drinks that they'll have available. Overall, I definitely want to visit again and try out other cocktails along with their beers and try out their food as their foods sound really good! Definitely love the vibe of this place!

Yelp
It was a highly rated new restaurant, and we were both super excited to visit. There are a lot of seats in the restaurant. There are two dining areas. One side with the bar and a second sitting area with booths and tables with different sitting configurations. It's a beautiful and clean new restaurant. We were attended to and seated almost immediately - after checking to make sure that there was a table available for us. Our server was a very nice lady. And she checked on us after giving us some time to look at the menu. I ordered a lychee guava. Based on the description- it has gin, lychee, guava jam, lemon, and lavender. My hubby ordered a manhattan. - this was good. I liked it. My lychee guava came around. And I tasted it - I didn't taste any lychee nor guava. So I waved her down and asked if I made a mistake. I actually asked if I ordered rhe lychee guava. She said I did, and they remade the drink. This time, it came back with a lemon peel. It still didn't taste like lychee nor guava. Referring back to the website- I realized my drink looked different from the pictures on the website - it was supposed to be garnished with lavender. Maybe it would be prudent to let the customer know that they were out of certain things. Because I was getting gin lemonade instead of the lychee guava. It did take some time for the drinks to come out , but they were relatively busy today. We ordered three appetisers to share 1) oxtail birria fries 2) crispy hot wings - calabrian chilli buffalo 3) bao buns - 2 crispy pork belly and hot nashville karage 4) apple turnover as a dessert Oxtail birria fries. They arrived crispy and hot. I did enjoy the gravy on the fries. But the portions were very large. Couldn't finish it. The crispy wings were ok. The wings were cooked - not over dry nor raw. The sauce was not very spicy. I thought it was just ok for me. The bao buns were super soft. The crispy pork belly blew me away. I loved it. The hot nashville karage was ok. Good but not outstanding We ordered a dessert for a sweet finish. The pastry was crispy. The apples inside tasted ok, but it looked a very weird colour. It was dark in colour. The sauce was a vanilla porter caramel sauce it was actually very bitter, and that part I didn't quite like. I did like the look of the burger for a neighbouring table. And I also have my eyes on other stuff on the menu. Overall, this place has the potential to be wonderful. I would give it some time to stabilise before coming back.

Yelp
Welcome back & welcome to downtown Vista! So, 1 of my fave tiny breweries, Stave & Nail, hit the pause button & went silent for a while. Whispers were that they were expanding their brewing operations & looking to come back in a big way. But, quite a bit of time went by with no news. & then boom! Right on a busy corner in downtown Vista, they returned as Prey Brewing Co. Sleek, new, modern, brewpub, cocktail bar, wine too. This really is shaping up to be the dining & libation stop with it all. That is the thought process as I type this out during the 1st day of their soft opening. The beers are on point. I always enjoyed Stave & Nail beers before. & that is still true, as Prey Brewing Co. 1st day open to the public, service is good too. You would always expect kinks during a soft opening, but they are doing a great job. & smiling the whole time. For some solid sustenance to absorb my beers, I ordered the Oxtail Birria Fries. My food was up shortly. It's essentially a Mex-poutine fusion of sorts. Tasty. Excellent brewpub fare. I was a big fan of Stave & Nail. I'm already a fan of Prey Brewing Co. I will be back.

Yelp
My wife and I excitingly went to lunch at the new Prey Brewing. We ordered calibrian chilli Buffalo wings, oxtail Birria fries and and 3 bao buns. 1 Nashville hot chicken and 2 chrispy pork belly. Paired that with the lychee quava cocktail and a perfect Manhattan. The fries were just weird with the melted processed cheese and the sauce. The boa buns were great. Highly recommend. And the wings. Ooo the wings. They had 0, none, zilch for flavor. Covered in sauce. But had no flavor. The lychee drink tasted like it was spiked lemonade. Didn't taste any lychee and definitely no guava. And we asked to have it redone. The burger the table next to us ordered looked good.

Yelp
A welcome addition to downtown Vista! We sat at the bar, service was prompt and our bartender was perfectly attentive. The decor is charming with a lot of plants We only had appetizers but it was a great sampling of the the menu. Crudo was our favorite. Looking forward to our next visit!

Deanne L.

Yelp
Stopped here for a little date night and enjoyed their Late Night Menu, which starts at 9pm. My boyfriend and I shared the Truffle Mushroom Fries, Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, and the Birria Goat Cheese Sliders, as well as a glass of Light Mexican Lager for me. The Truffle Shroom Fries were the best dish we had that night. So much flavor! The Hot chicken sandwich comes second, it had a nice breaded texture and a pretty good spicy kick. My least favorite were the Birria sliders. They were dry and didn't make me think of birria. It needed some consomme broth. Beer was just okay in my opinion but it also didn't help that I came from my favorite brewery right before this. The restaurant itself is a ~vibe~. It was "Prey" themed with animal art around the restaurant. Service was super friendly! Very busy on a Friday night but no wait
google avatar

Kathleen G.

Yelp
Stopped by with my daughter for an after dinner glass of wine. It was a cooler night so instead of the outdoor seating with heating we headed inside. We were met by Bennet who directed us to seating at the bar. We then realized that Bennet was the host, the waiter, and the bartender. He was the person that did it all in this restaurant and he did it very well. There were multiple tables occupied inside and out and everyone was well served and happy. Granted it was later on a weeknight so there wasn't an expectation of a large crowd. My point is that the service provided was outstanding. I can't speak for the food but what I saw delivered looked good.

Yelp
Great HH prices & really great food!!! Depending on server, sometimes it takes a long time for service if outside on patio.
google avatar

Terri K.

Yelp
Weekend brunch is fabulous. Impressive & tasty Bloody Marys. Food portions are large. Two breakfast tacos were wonderful for $14. Excellent service. Make a reservation for parties of 6 or more. Street parking was easy to find at 10am on a Sunday.

Yelp
If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! Amazing service, amazing ambience, and their staff is so accommodating. They really make you feel welcomed and their food is beyond delicious! Also, they have happy hour everyday from 3-6! Let's just say, I'm a big fan of this place and that I come here a lot.

Tiante C.

Yelp
Great happy hour and nice bartenders! Great prices as well! Would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
In-house and guest beers are interesting, tasty, and rotated often for variety. The cocktail program is really excellent, with great options for everyone in both base spirit and preparation. The menu is expansive and there are also unique specials worth going out of the way for. The portions are very generous on almost everything, and almost everything is almost always perfect. There are some surprises sometimes, like I had the chicken & waffle at brunch and the waffle didn't have any specific description other than "Belgian waffle" but was a denser and more heavily pie-spice flavored item than I'd expected. Atmosphere is pretty great and the service is always incredibly friendly albeit sometimes a bit slow especially if you're the only person sitting on the patio. This has become the spot we take everyone to.

Yelp
Food Awesome, Service sucks. It was super slow. Zero Customer Service. I use to be In the Industry. I know I was Awesome. Fyi
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
My experience was not what yelp reviews quote a 4.5 star. As we walked in there was no host, so we waited as staff passed by us not acknowledging us. Eventually someone showed up and sat us. Food wasn't bad and tasted good ordered a burger with fries. The main issue is the lack of staff/service attention it took be sat, order and pay my bill. It was not great at all, I had to get up and personally hand my currency to the server so I could leave. There were other customers who had to get up and look for staff to help them as well. Not a great look at all when being a paying customer spending their time and money. Ambiance- Did not have a baby changing table, be mindful if you bringing your family.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
Good: Excellent service, Yummy food (smash burger and fries), good happy hour prices, Clean bathrooms, nice esthetic and the perfect location for dinner and a movie. Bad: A little loud (where we sat in the bar) Ugly: They use canola oil to cook. That is poison.
google avatar

Julie M.

Yelp
I've been here twice now. Once for happy hour and once for Sunday brunch. Happy hour was good, tacos were yummy, but service was extremely slow and we weren't able to order more drinks during happy hour pricing despite arriving an hour before happy hour ended. Brunch was delicious. Prices were average since breakfast is now just as expensive as any other meal no matter where you go. Oxtail taco wasn't as good as the chorizo, but the loco moco was the best.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
Cool brewery, friendly staff- delicious beers on tap. Good food too, the coconut stout and Japanese rice beer were my favorites!!

Yelp
Great beer and food! I got the IPA and fish taco. My friend also got a gin cocktail that was delicious. I will absolutely be coming back. Staff were very friendly and good service. Very cool vibe with trendy and masculine decor. The entire food menu looks so good.

Yelp
Had a couple of drinks here the other day with a buddy and we even ordered a couple of food items off the menu. First off I noticed it was a bit warm inside, though I was wearing a long-sleeve sweatshirt. Seating inside the main room is minimal but they do have a whole other side of the building with tables and chairs that appeared to be empty, so that might be overflow when needed. We sat at a two-person high-top table. I ordered the Lychee Guava cocktail. It was okay but not very sweet. I didn't taste much gin or lychee unfortunately. My buddy ordered a seltzer which tasted as most seltzers do. I also ended up ordering a beer, which only came in a half pour...which was due to its limited availability? Something to keep in mind, but a half pour was what I was looking for at that moment, so it's all good! We also ordered the Oxtail Birria Fries and Pork Belly Bites. Both were outstanding. The pork belly came covered with a lot of toasted peanuts and the (hoisin aioli or peanut?) sauce around it was delicious. The oxtail birria was very tasty and the fries had the adequate crunch a dish like this requires. When cutting into the sunny-side up egg on top, it golden yolk ran over the potatoes and mixed with the birria gravy - oh so good! Chatting with my buddy was a bit difficult. The voices echo in this room very loudly and it's hard to carry on a good conversation if its busy inside so be aware of that. I can't imagine what it's like to watch a game here but I can see one losing their voice lol. Can't wait to come back and try a different cocktail and more food. I see the reviews are great so there's a lot to unpack here and it all looks delicious.

Went here for dinner with our daughter who live locally. A really nice restaurant right on the corner, with a cool vibe and welcoming staff. An ample selection of small plates, burger and tacos, along with a full list of mixed drinks and in-house beers. Really enjoyed the bao-buns (went with the Nashville hot chicken... yum!) as well as the truffle fries. The rest of the table had burgers, and I can attest that they were delicious. If you're looking for a casual, comfortable place to enjoy solid local beer and thoughtfully crafted food, Prey Brewing is a great choice!
