I got there a little early for dinner. The main dining area opens at five. So I sat at a table at the bar. It was a superb atmosphere. Tanner, the bartender, was very well dressed and put together, professional, polite, and courteous. Very thoughtful and deliberate. The 70s and 2000s rock and grunge rock playlist suited my taste very well and played at a comfortable volume. Upon request, I received a freshly made lemonade that was delightfully refreshing. The wedge salad, filet mignon, and truffle fries were absolutely amazing! I enjoyed every bite and would gladly go back.

Tonight’s dinner was absolutely delicious. I finally got around to trying Prime102. It was easily the best decision I’ve made this year. Every single aspect of our visit was perfect. From the amazing service, to the incredible food. I can’t think of one thing that went wrong the entire night. On to the food. We ordered the 45 day dry aged 22oz ribeye with the black garlic truffle butter, 8oz filet mignon with an au poiyre sauce, tuna tartare, and the truffle parmesan fries. Both of the steaks had such an incredible flavor, especially the ribeye. They were super tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The tuna tartare was a first for me. I absolutely loved it though. They brought out a complimentary birthday piece of their famous butter cake with some vanilla bean ice cream on top. I also ordered some bread pudding. They sat it down on the table and proceeded to pour some heavenly sauce over the top of it. Both desserts were phenomenal to say the least. I highly recommend this place to anyone who’s on the fence about it. I’m already planning my next visit.

This restaurant is beautiful! The building and location transports you to the 20s. It is an East Texas gem! The omnivores at the table were happy! The steak and crab cakes were delicious and cooked to perfection. If you eat traditionally southern this place is amazing! The food was beautifully plated as well! I’ve been to numerous restaurants at this price point that even specialize in steak and I have gotten amazing vegan meals. This isn’t one. Unfortunately, the waiter didn’t know what vegan was and did not have context on how to change the menu. We did get an altered Cauliflower Steak which was really good but not enough food. We wanted to get sides but it was very unclear from the waiter what could be altered. I’m a bit disappointed in the staff not knowing how to accommodate vegans and the lack of options especially at this price point.

Google
Easily the best steak I’ve had in years. Get the 12 ounce filet. Oh my. The mushrooms were excellent, as was my wife’s blackened salmon and shrimp. The salad was a bit underwhelming, but the other faire more than made up for that. The restaurant itself is lovely, and the wait staff was very good. Parking in the area can be a bit tough, but there is valet.

We had an amazing meeting with the founder of Flourish here today! We enjoyed the quietness of the bar and the qualitu service from Shyann! Second best was the amazing Bar Burger and the truffle fries! Shyann was super attentive and took great care of us!! I will definitely be back with my team and our clients!

We dined on 11-13-24 to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. Christian was our waiter and he was absolutely amazing. All recommendations he made were perfect! They also treated us with dessert that was the best butter cake and homemade ice cream we've ever had! The owners were also very attentive as well and appreciative that we chose to dine at their restaurant. Will definitely be back!

Google
Wow! The reviews are accurate. Quiet place, good music, cozy, and excellent service. Eli made the perfect recommendations, and Sam was excellent help as well. We will definitely be back. We had the pork belly, prime steak, crab cakes, and specialty beets. The drinks were equally amazing. Too much food for two.

Google
My husband and I been coming here for years to the point we have almost tried everything on the menu. After coming last night, I was so disappointed in how small the portion got for the same price, if not for more. You use to get your money worth but they have changed up the portion of the dish. I have different pictures of the filet medallion from over the years and compared to the plate I got last night. Definitely won’t be back. We are better off going to Dakotas or culture right across the street for delicious food.

Yelp
Always top rate, we stopped in the bar and had lunch today. Bartender Miss Meridith was a SUPER server, very knowledgeable on her liquors and their entire menu, she was one of the best servers we've ever experienced. When she brought out a Butter Cake with iced cream, it wasn't necessary, but really sealed the deal. If you live in the area and are not frequenting this place regularly, you're really missing out.

Yelp
We absolutely love this restaurant! The decor is beautiful art deco era! The food is so delicious! I can't say enough nice things about the staff! So attentive without hovering, always have the best suggestions and know the menu completely! The owners are always there and make you feel welcomed! Our favorites are the Crab cake appetizer, the filet mignon, and the butter cake and Mexican vanilla ice cream! This time they had added a lemon cake that was stupendous! Light, moist and delish!!

Yelp
Fair warning: the place is dress coded (and we kinda expected that, rolling up in fishing shirts and blue jeans with ball caps on on a random Saturday afternoon). But! The bar is open seating and we were welcomed there. So glad, too, because Ajah took incredible care of us- and the view from the corner table looking over the courthouse is likely better than any view in the main dinning room. Ok, on the table for tonight: crab cake appetizer, a wedge salad and the Cajun tomato soup, filets cooked medium and Brussel sprouts to share. The crab cake was more crab than cake- a top five of our lifetime kinda appetizer! So good! The wedge is DOUBLE DECKER! Cool presentation, crisp salad. The Cajun tomato soup definitely has a kick- it's a robust and flavorful dish! (Quick point: Ajah has done such a great job checking in, clearing the table, keeping our water glasses full- EXCELLENT SERVICE!) The steaks are cooked to perfection - no additional topping needed as the salt and pepper crust and char from the grill make the tenderness of the filet melt in your mouth. And don't pass on the Brussels sprouts- they are crisp, and perfect, and oh so tasty! There was mention of a 23 layer chocolate cake (OMG) but we just don't have space! Delicious- and great service. Main dinning room be damned, we'll come eat at this bar anytime!!

Yelp
Wow! I recently scoped out a potential date night spot, and I couldn't resist diving in after hearing rave reviews about their lunch burgers. So, I took the plunge and treated myself before committing to dinner. I kicked things off with a beautifully plated Caesar salad adorned with two perfectly cooked anchovies on the side. The dressing was a tad generous, but it added a delicious twist to the dish that I couldn't get enough of. Then came the star of the show: the house burger and fries. Let me tell you, they were nothing short of AMAZING! Hands down the best burger I've had in the last two years--everything about it was just perfect. The flavors, the juiciness, the presentation--I was in foodie heaven! I was enjoying everything so much that I decided to indulge a little further with a slice of the decadent 21-layer chocolate cake paired with a tall glass of vanilla milk and a scoop of Mexican vanilla ice cream all the way from Plano, Texas. It was the ultimate sweet ending to an absolutely fantastic meal!

Yelp
We have been wanting to try this steakhouse for several months now and I finally planned ahead for our anniversary and got a reservation. Honestly, I don't know where to begin, but let's start with the location. Wow, 1930's era bank, and we were seated in, what used to be, the tellers lobby. Italian marble everywhere. Very high ceilings and nicely lit. Sound was very nice and you could easily have a conversation at your table without all the ambient noise. Just a beautiful, comfortable setting. Our waiter, was top notch. He knew the menu and how each meal was prepared. We each had one of their signature cocktails which were delicious. We both had a filet and they were cooked to perfection at medium rare. The beef was delicious. We did try the pork belly appetizer and the lobster mac and cheese. Both were great. We also added the Australian lobster tail. Fantastic! We just loved the look, feel and experience of this steakhouse. We will definitely be back again!

Yelp
The food is fantastic, the chocolate cake was delicious and came with a glass of milk, and the ambience is beautiful! The bar area has a view of downtown. Great date night!

Yelp
Excellent place to celebrate any occasion, or if you just crave great steaks. The food was delicious and the sides are big enough to feed a party of 4. Our server was also fantastic. He gave great suggestions and was attentive. Moreover, the atmosphere was perfect. The restaurant is not too loud, so you can have a good conversation with your friends or family.

Yelp
Everything went fantastic well worth the money ambiance I'd definitely recommend this one

Yelp
Two words: tempura asparagus. If you don't start your meal with this appetizer, did you even experience Prime 102? We visited the restaurant on a Friday evening to grab drinks and a quick appetizer prior to a later reservation nearby. We sat in the bar area and lucked out with a great table near the window to look out over downtown. Our server Jessica was a true delight. She made great recommendations and provided a pleasant experience. My husband selected then angry lobster - super delicious, not too spicy at all. The sauce was flavorful and the bread was tasty. To say I enjoyed the tempura asparagus was an understatement. The asparagus was tender and coated with a seasoned batter. The dipping sauce was also very good. We both enjoyed the house bread with everything bagel butter seasoning. Such a nice restaurant and experience. Besides the unfriendly hostess, every single employee we interacted with led with hospitality and warmth. From the bartender to those clearing our table before we sat, they all smiled and welcomed us. I certainly plan to return on our visit to Tyler next year.

Yelp
Best food in town, hands down! Five star experience all the way. I'll put this establishment up against the majority of DFW Metro restaurants without a second thought. First, the service is perfect. They are anticipating your needs without being overbearing. Professional and friendly without being too familiar. They know one fork from another but never make you feel like you're being tested. Every morsel was delicious. Portion sizes were perfect. Everything was cooked perfectly and thoughtful plated. The vegetarian option (a delicious cauliflower steak) was NOT an afterthought, like it tends to be at steakhouses. The venue is a gorgeous, historic, art deco building with a 2-story dining area at the top of a dramatic flight of stairs. This was a birthday dinner to remember, and it wasn't even my birthday! Prices: save up and don't ask- just order what you'll enjoy- it's worth the experience.

Yelp
This is the only restaurant you need to go to in Tyler. Excellent service, beautiful space, elegant ambiance but warm & friendly in an old bank building and food is pretty good.

Yelp
We tried to get a reservation the day before for Friday night but they were fully booked. So we showed up at 6:30 and headed to the bar for open seating. We waited less than 10 minutes and snagged a couple of seats at the bar. This area is dark & intimate and we were pleased with the atmosphere. We ordered an Old Fashion and a Yellow Rose and both were delicious. We shared the Crab Cake for an appetizer and it was amazing! Full of crab, I could have eaten a couple more it was so good! For our meals I chose the Chilean Sea Bass and my hubs had the 6oz Filet Medallion. Both were perfection in preparation & size. For round two of drinks, I chose the Azalea. It was good, but I preferred the Yellow Rose! The bread they serve is a homemade croissant loaf with garlic butter and it was addicting. For dessert, the Chocolate Cake was sold out so we opted for the Bread Pudding. So very rich! Overall, we LOVED our experience (both food & service) and cannot wait to return to try more items from the menu. It's a great place for celebrations or date nights. The entrance and main dining area reminds me of the art-deco era and reminiscent of some restaurants we ate at in Grand Central Station in NYC! Go enjoy this gem of a restaurant in heart of Tyler!

Yelp
Dined in the bar. While the atmosphere was definitely upscale, I do wish they had kept that upstairs bar area from the previous business. Service was excellent. Drinks were excellent. Flavorful but not overly sweet. Appetizers were good. The Tuna Tartar stood out. Well prepared and beautifully presented. Honey glazed pork belly good. Tempura Asparagus excellent - thank you for not coating it in hot pepper but serving as a sauce on the side. The New York Strip was excellent. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. I normally would shun this cut of steak, but Prime 102 did an excellent job with it. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the prices are over the top. Too expensive for the area in my opinion. We'll be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Their drinks are better than their food. Service is normally very good. The decor, ambiance and views are great. They have many choices for dining, meeting rooms, corner bar with a view or somewhat intimate dining for two. The manager is very hospitable.

Yelp
We just moved to Tyler 2 weeks ago.... We've been trying different restaurants and they've all been great so far.... But this one?? OF THE CHARTS!!! Hands down 10/10! We sat at the bar... the bartenders were amazing!!! We ordered the Crab cake, the pork belly, the soup and the queso... we gave all of it a 10/10..... let's not forget the delicious croissant loaf with the cream cheese spread CRAZY GOOD!!!!! This place is going to be a go to for us for sure!!! Luckily it's 4 blocks from our house!! We highly recommend!!

Yelp
Why did it take us so long to try Prime 102?!? The Grove was our favorite & it's still a go-to, especially in gorgeous outdoor weather! But, when it comes to indoor dining, Prime 102 is top notch & heads above other Tyler dining options. I do think the business would benefit by encouraging appetizers & cocktails in the dining area before 6pm (rather than limiting the dining area to full dinner as the space was essentially empty & the bar was too noisy with disruptive music).

Cheri W.

Yelp
I started going to Prime 102 in 2020 and considered it the best food and service for about 3 years. I stopped going there about a year and a half ago, after the final major disappointment of an appetizer that had been excellent before. The service was good (in bar) and the fried oysters sent back without any problem. However, I had gone less often due to the inconsistency in food and declining service overall. I believe this change is due to the loss of an amazing Chef and replacement with one who was not even close to the level of the one who left. The owner is onsite most of the time but, she has a cold and sterile attitude. It became a shell of what is was. I consider The Grove to be the only restaurant worth my time and money in Tyler now. I wish Prime 102 had stayed on my short list of upscale dining in Tyler.

David M.

Yelp
Some food was outstanding but some was just average and way overpriced. I think your paying for the hype of high end food but it's really not
google avatar

Alfalfa P.

Yelp
Excellent dinning experience and by far one of the best places in town. I can't think of one complaint.
google avatar

Will S.

Yelp
Ok.....this building alone is 10/10. An Art Deco, crimson marble laden former bank where the restaurant's dry storage is the old downstairs vault. Oh and the steaks are fantastic. I ordered the 22oz 45 day dry aged Ribeye. Bonkers. Great drinks, great whisky selection, great staff, great owner and chef, great sides from lobster mac to marinated mushrooms.... and the deserts...There's a butter cake....I'll say that again....Butter Cake...but the bread pudding with white and dark chocolate chips and NO RAISINS OR NUTS....(they've re invented bread pudding) this was a perfect closer. Basically like taking a bit of a multi-chipped brownie/cookie/piece of cake with hot vanilla cream poured over. Just go here. It's great.

Yelp
We stop by here on a road trip from Melbourne to Colorado. We were in New Orleans this morning and on our way to Oklahoma City for the night and needed a steak So we made a stop by this place and it's amazing so happy we did. It was a spur of the moment Google search and a great find everything is impeccable. The staff is amazing. Everything on the menu is really good really well for prepared and fabulous ‍

Yelp
Food is Fabulous! Service Sensational! And Ambiance Amazing! Love this Treasure!!!!!

Yelp
Excellent service and dining at Prime 102 tonight. Steaks were perfectly prepared, lobster Mac had almost more lobster than Mac and the asparagus Florentine was the perfect green touch. Delicious bread and butter service added to the dining experience. Great cocktails and the butter cake for my bday! Wow!! Will be returning!
google avatar

Barbara C.

Yelp
This restaurant is AMAZING! The atmosphere was perfect, beautiful, elegant, and cozy. The servers were so sweet, prompt and intent of making everyone happy. My sea bass was one of the best I've ever had! We are from Dallas and have eaten at some of their finest restaurants there, but Prime 102 has met my expectations and then some!!! You must go, great place for special occasions!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great martinis, tempura asparagus, bread and much more. The bar is nice and intimate and the dining room is very special. Dress up and relax in a lovely environment with excellent hostesses, wait staff and bartenders. I also really appreciate the complimentary valet (bring cash to tip these sweet folks!)

Austin M.

Yelp
Incredible food. High prices but wow. It's worth it if you can swing it. The rest of this review should not be considered because I'm just trying to use the additional characters that Yelp asks for. Thanks!

Tia D.

Yelp
Our family came here to celebrate my promotion at work and we absolutely loved it. The service was impeccable, drinks were delicious, and food was amazing and steaks cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed the crab cake in particular, the bread and cream cheese were delectable, and surf and turf with tomahawk and lobster tail (dipped in truffle butter). Okay, now I'm salivating over our meal all over again. We had no complaints whatsoever. We particularly enjoyed the French service since we ate family style. The owner even came over to make sure we had a great time. Would recommend and look forward to returning someday!

Pat E.

Yelp
Always our go to spot for those special occasions. Wonderful staff service and food. Wonderful historical location also.

Chris B.

Yelp
Great service, great ambiance. Very upscale. Enjoyed our time there. Not to sure about the stairs, but overall a great time and experiance.

Jt W.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant..great service. Yet, the food was just ok. Everything had too much seasoning. My steak..too much seasoning...the sides we ordered...too much seasoning...drinks way too much over priced. Yet, I enjoyed the experience

Yelp
We weren't able to get in at another place close by but the Corner Bar had open seating which was perfect!! Started with the zucchini appetizer special. So yummy. Perfectly crispy. Hubs got a wedge salad with huge bacon bits. The popover with the cream cheese tasting butter is DAN-gerous! I got the bbq shrimp. It was ok. Hubs & our friend order steaks, not pictured. They were amazing. Cooked to order juicy & flavorful. We ended with bread pudding & butter cake. The bread pudding was my fav!!

Karen C.

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere, food and service !!! Filet was fired perfectly! No shortage of blue cheese dressing in the wedge. Wish they would have split it before serving. Truffle fries were delicious! Now please save room for desert The ballpark Carmel sundae was worth the drive. Mmmmm. Matt was our server, very attentive, cocktails poured well, martini yummy too bad they ran out of Grey Goose! Kettle One a good sub.

Yelp
Husband and I ate here on a Friday night. Pork Belly appetizer was amazing! Bread and butter were great. Steaks were tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection ! Brussel Sprouts were amazing as well. The Loaded potato casserole was good, but we get like it was a little dry and needed salt. The butter cake for dessert is a must! Drinks were also great!

Lisa H.

Yelp
This steakhouse is trying. The menu is traditional as advertised. The staff are eager and friendly - a plus. The atmosphere is amazing. The bar is busy and has views. They have all the ingredients for a great restaurant. But sadly, the meal was a miss. I ordered a medium ribeye. It came out rare. Very rare. I sent it back. It came back rare/medium rare. The restaurant was only serving about a dozen other customers at that time as I was eating at 5:30) , so there is no good explanation for why a steakhouse can't cook a steak to medium on 2 separate tries. That alone would have earned them a three star rating in my book, but the steak was terribly bland. I'm not sure it even got salt and pepper during preparation. Another strike against them was a terribly limited and generic wine list. Tyler is in such dire need of an upscale dining establishment, I had high hopes. Maybe it was just a bad night ...

Megan B.

Yelp
We loved our food at Prime 102 we visited twice during our Christmas stay with my in laws. The wagyu appetizer is outstanding - served on a salt cube and the mmmmm hand torched at your table. We've eaten at tons of steak restaurants with stars all around the world and we found this wagyu to be one of the best! Next time we are in town will order this individually rather than share :) The ambiance is amazing. I'd definitely have a private party here.

Colton S.

Yelp
Excellent food. High price but well worth the service. Casual ambiance on Friday/Saturday. Best restaurant experience in Tyler I've had in 33 years. Menu recommendations and excellent service.

Shawn B.

Yelp
Excellent! Upscale quality that you expect in big cities but here in Tyler. Always classy and service is impeccable! Thanks

Yelp
Great food and wonderful atmosphere. Top notch service. Love the life changing butter cake. Bonnie and John

Yelp
The atmosphere is lovely, great for a romantic evening or a business dinner. The wait staff goes above and beyond, my water cup was never once empty. Kalen was our waitress and she is superb. Checked on us constantly and had a very welcoming and friendly attitude. The steak is the best I've ever put in my mouth and we've had steak all over the country. The sides and dessert were great. The owner came and chatted with us for a while and she is extremely personable. This is the kind of dining one expects when they're paying a higher price for food. 10/10 recommend.

Jeff D.

Yelp
The crab cake is fantastic. Good wine selection. We usually have the prime filets which are very good.
google avatar

Linda J.

Yelp
I love the food, the staff is incredible, and the ambiance is perfect! I tell everyone about this place...

Chandler M.

Yelp
You really can't beat the atmosphere in this great old building. I think it's always positive if the kitchen is visible. The bar is very good with a great selection of food and drinks. I have been many times and the service has been good to great. It just depends on who you get. The reception is always nice and polite. I've been to several functions here and several private dinners. All were very nice. The menu is good for both lunch and dinner. Lunch was really a value.

Yelp
We went for my birthday, and it was a perfect choice. Wait staff was attentive without being obtrusive, food was artfully prepared and delicious. Old fashioned was impeccable. We will be back.

Yelp
My friend and I went to Prime 102 after getting in from a long flight from LA. I called ahead and asked if there was a dress code. The woman who answered the phone assured us to come as we are, so we came in sweatpants and all. When we walked in I was taking back by the cool setting and architecture. I was also very worried that they would change their mind after seeing us in our most comfortable travel attire! To my surprise they were even more welcoming and friendly in person, if that's even possible! The setting is upscale but they were planning cool music, not top forties junk, but interesting music I had never heard. The service was more than friendly, the staff asked us about ourselves and our visit to Tyler and we thoroughly enjoyed the conversation! Mind you, we are from LA and we haven't seen people faces besides our family members and close friends in over a year due to covid, so seeing there smiling faces was an absolute treat! We decided we couldn't pick just one entree, so we choice many different starters! I especially loved the pork belly and seafood! I was surprised that Texas seafood could be better than what we get is Los Angeles! Big complements to the chef! To the owner of this restaurant- you have an amazing team, thank you all for making this meal the highlight of our trip! Tips- I think this would be a great place to impress a date, celebrate birthdays, and have important business lunches! Highly recommend

Yelp
Whether you eat at the bar or a table this place is top notch. Steaks are perfectly grilled. Drinks are spot on. Atmosphere is classy and romantic.

Yelp
Personally, I like the bar menu the best for food, but I am a light eater. The restaurant is wonderful and very accommodating . Lunch is a value, but I've only had the specials. The ambiance is very elegant and makes for a very lovely date. I have never had a disappointing experience at Prime.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome food and wonderful atmosphere. Best steak I've had in a long time. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Outstanding food and service! Highly recommend! The bar has experienced bartenders that make truly craft cocktails!

Yelp
AMAZING! Atmosphere, food, Kevin our server.... Everything is just wonderful. Even the owners are down to earth people. I definitely recommend this place. Be sure to save room for dessert. The butter cake is to die for!!!!
