When people ask on forums where to find the best sushi in Charlotte, Primefish is always the answer. This second location is truly unique, offering an incredible selection of wine and sake. You can browse and grab a bottle like in a wine shop and it is a sushi restaurant. They even offer preorder for delivery. This place is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood—I can’t go back to average sushi now that Primefish is here.

@ Primefish Cellar 2 pcs of salmon sashimi 3pcs of tuna avocado 3pcs of spicy yellowtail 3pcs of California paired with: Suigei (drunken whale) Amabuki Pink Kikusui Black (can) Dassai 45 Amazing meal. The sommelier was fantastic, to say the least. We will be back. We even bought a bottle of Pinot Grigio to go. The order of my favorites were 1. Spicy Yellowtail w/ Kikusui Black 2. Salmon w/ Dassai 45 3. California w/ Suigei 4. Tuna w/ Ambuki The first 2 pairings were simply flawless.

Primefish Cellar is the perfect place to get your sake and wine to go or to sip there. They have caviar, truffles, fish by the oz and other delicious snacks that you can eat there (limited seating) or take home to enjoy. They always have someone on staff who is knowledgeable to guide your sake and wine selections.

Truly such an amazing experience. The owner is extremely knowledgeable on all things sake, wine, and sushi. The nigiri we had was SO fresh, probably some of the best you can get in Charlotte. YOU SHOULD TRY THIS SPOT! We had a GREAT time chatting with them, very friendly people. We will certainly be back!

I went in recently and grabbed some sushi to go and while I waited asked a couple questions about the wine they had. The sushi was the best I’ve had in Charlotte and the wine recommendations were excellent. Very knowledgeable staff. I can’t wait to go back. I’m still thinking about the wine recommendations. Some really fun picks.

Can you give a place 20 stars?! Amazing. New favorite spot. We had Bill as our server? I don’t even know the right word. He presented us with our sake flight & educated us every step of the way. I cannot say enough about how great he was! Never was he rude or condescending when we asked silly questions. He is so knowledgable about sake & obviously loves to share that knowledge. The food, oh my god, sooooo good! Overall we had the sake flight, the nigiri tasting & the prime salmon roll. All 10/10! It’s clear the chef cares about their art & that 100% comes through in the food! It was an experience through & through, in the best way. I will be telling anyone & everyone I know to go see Bill & order some amazing sushi!

Bill knows his stuff! Small but expanding collection of specialty foods, but things you won’t get anywhere else. Fresh whole truffles. Fresh wasabi! How many people in Charlotte have had actual wasabi. Imported A5 beef. Caviar. The largest selection of Sake in Charlotte as well as a large curated collection of wines if that’s your jam.

What a fun experience! We did a sake flight for the first time and it was so cool! We learned so much. Jackie and Hendra and AMAZING! They spent a lot of time with us and really knew what they were talking about. The food was also great. We will definitely be back!!

This place is still at a soft opening stage at the time of this review. But it was amazing! A Ma Zing Top quality sushi. Great wine or sake options. The place itself is small and not that formal looking, kind of like high casual, fancy date but not necessarily anniversary date you know? Definitely recommended!

I really like this place... wish it was a little bigger and had more unfiltered saki options but the sushi is solid! Service is great. Small, intimate setting. Will def make this a normal spot for me and my hubby

The sushi was phenomenal. They didn't have everything available just yet as we were there on their day three of opening. The wine selection was great. We had some sake that was phenomenal from France. We definitely go there again.
