YES! Check it out! Open 2 months in Bellevue. Definite change; and in my opinion, just what B-vue needs. I do not leave ratings often, but I feel compelled to leave one now.
Tye, Chris, and Chuck have converted their late night Seattle entertainment venue experiences into a creative, new, and fresh concept restaurant/bar to the old Stone karaoke venue across from Key Bank on Bellevue Way between 10th and 12th. With a clean, elegant and contemporary design, their "Primos" restaurant offers a culinary experience unlike no other in Bellevue. Try the Edamame dumplings. Layers of texture and flavors that will surely tantalize your pallet. Each bite explodes with flavor. The grilled shrimp is fresh, lightly seasoned and properly cooked so it is warm throughout; yet not dry. Finally, the rib eye steak is AMAZING. Whether you order it as an appetizer or as an entree with orzo, it is well-sourced, marbled and flavored. As to preparation, it was lightly seasoned and cooked to temperature perfection. It has been brushed gently with a homemade plum sauce that adds just the right amount of sweetness to this creative masterpiece.
As to libations, Jonathan makes probably the best espresso martini in town. The appearance on presentation was flawless. As to his Moscow mule, well, he forgot mint in the first one. After correction and him tasting the difference, I feel positive that will not happen again. Whatever negative I can attribute to that singular deviation from perfection, Jonathan more than made up in pleasantness, conversation and attentiveness.
I watched game 7 of the World Series there, but left prior to the D.J. who starts at 9:00 p.m. Piano bar open on Friday. When I asked Tye how late they are open he responded, "as long as you want."
O.K. Bellevue, listen up. If you want to be dragged into the 21st century (kicking and screaming), then support this place and what these talented fellas are doing to this sleepy little gem of a town I call home.
