Where to Enjoy Sizzling Asian Barbecue in Chicago | Eater Chicago

"Pork is the star of the show at this Korean spot up in Northbrook. Samgyeopsal, or grilled pork belly, is the signature dish and available in several styles. Roll up those sleeves, order a round of beer, and get ready to enjoy succulent and fatty slices of meats that are cooked at the table." - Jeffy Mai

The meats are very good, portions were little small for what we were used to. I’ve heard so much about the side dishes (banchen) and frankly I was expecting more or better and turned out it’s average only. The staffs were wonderful since they speak fluent English 👍 and fast service too.

Let's get the negative out of the way, it's always packed, and sometimes it's difficult to find parking. With that being said it being always full is a testament to how great this place is. The food is always fresh no matter what day of the week you go. This place is by far my top 1 in the state for Korean BBQ because of the quality, quantity and price. 3 people can eat comfortably including beer for less than $100 (not including tip). The consistency of their flavors and quality has been refreshing and we will continue to be regulars. I recommend this location to anyone looking for a great weekend meal, a date, or taking the family out for great food.

Google
We came here for dinner and had a fantastic meal. We ordered the sliced natural pork, sliced natural pork with skin, and marinated sliced premium short ribs. The complimentary side dishes and soup were delicious, and the meat we ordered was all so tender and flavorful. This is one of the best Korean barbecue places we’ve been to in the US, and we would definitely come back for more!

Google
A popular spot for good reason. Service was great, and the atmosphere was good as well. Restaurant was full of Koreans (including myself) so it is a popular and good spot. Docked one star on food just because it is a tad overpriced, don't expect to get a cheap meal. That being said, the quality of the food is fantastic. Overall, a great spot.

Google
Love the pork belly meat quality here!! A lot of banchan offerings, the bean paste tofu soup was on point! and I would come again and order more next time!

Google
It's a great place for Korean BBQ! They have good quality meat, great tasting kimchi, and the staff are nice and attentive. The place gets busy, so if you don't want to wait, get there close to when they open. If you ever need more of any side dish like kimchi, lettuce, dipping sauces, water, etc, just ask, and they will bring more. You cook the meat yourself on the grill at your table. They have a large vent above your table to pull any smoke out. Use the scissors to cut the meat into smaller bite-sized pieces, or small enough to wrap in the lettuce if you want to. It's a great experience, very similar to any BBQ you might find in Seoul. We had 3 variations of pork the most recent visit on 3/1/2025.

Google
Excellent quality meats for bbq. The soups were piping hot and delicious too! Service was great and attentive. There's a bell you can ring for service if needed as well. They do not accept reservations. So be sure to arrive early in case there's a wait. They open at 4pm. We arrived by 6pm on a Saturday. Waited approx 40mins for seating. Not bad. This is located in a strip mall with ample free parking.

Google
This has become my favourite spot for Korean BBQ. Not only is the food really good, the service is also on point. Come hungry and leave full and satisfied. Depending on what time you go, expect to wait for a table. Got there at 5:30pm on a weekend and already a line waiting for a table. So also be mindful of time eating 😉

Yelp
This is a popular Korean pork bbq (Samgyubsal) restaurant. The pork quality is decent. I used to be a regular to this one for many years, but the quality and service degraded so much and stopped coming for last two years. During the time, I have been eating at the competitor restaurant - 336 bbq. I suggest to check that one out also. Recently, I heard from others that Pro Samgyubsal quality is good now, and I tried again today. I would agree that Pro is back. For sure, I will start eating here again. For dishes: Thin slice pork belly: excellent Bibim Naengmyeon (spicy cold noodle): very good Mul Naengmyeon (cold noodle in broth) : soso Steamed eggs in pot: bad

Yelp
Minimum 2 orders of brisket, better to go with more people so you can try a variety of the meat! I still very much love this kbbq place! Not busy at all when we went on a thursday night. Spicy salad quite fire also unlimited lettuce was amazing!

Yelp
Pro Samgyubsal has always been a favorite. However, I did not realize how lucky we were to have it until I recently traveled to LA. While I had often heard about their kbbq scene there, I quickly found myself disappointed and missing this bbq place back home.

Yelp
This Korean Restaurant, did not disappoint. The food and sides were delicious. The Beef was tender and full of flavor. I did not need to use any sauces. The Pork Belly really good . The Soup it was so good. Full of flavor. The service was great. They have a button in the wall if you need the waitress. The waitress and waiter, 2 tender to our table were so nice and helpful in explaining how long to cook the food and some of the sides. Very great experience. Highly recommend.

Yelp
There are many Korean BBQ choices in the area. If you are looking for non marinated meat, pork in particular, this is a great choice. The quality of meat is quite good and the price is not bad as well. Service was very very good here and the place is quiet clean. The star here is the pork. Depending which pork you order some are scored. Portions are quite good and all pork had good amount of fat. Tried the kalbi which also not marinated and was pretty tender. Overall this is a nice choice for non ayce Korean bbq, particularly if you enjoy pork. The sides do leave a little to be desired as there is not much variety as it is mainly kimchi and different radishes. There is no potato salad, fishcakes, bean sprouts or steamed. FYI the parking lot is pretty small.

Yelp
I absolutely love Prosamgyupsal! It is a authentic Korean restaurant with no glitz or glam! We get the Samgyupsal, which is fun to grill, and share with the table. The mul naengmyeon is refreshing and a perfect side. The banchan is generous and tasty, adding great variety to the meal. Pairing everything with beer and soju makes it perfect for unwinding. Friendly service and great food makes Prosamgyupsal a top choice for authentic Korean dining!

Yelp
If I could, I would rate this restaurant a 4.5. Quality of meats are great here. Brisket and pork belly was good. Their Kalbi is good, but not the best I've ever had. Kimchi is not fresh. It is very sour. I don't know if they give you old kimchi on purpose to grill it. Side dishes were great. They give a good variety. I'm surprised they give you a free side of lettuce. Most Korean bbq places charge extra for lettuce now. The food is good. No complaints. There are a few other kbbq restaurants in the Chicago area that have made my jaw drop. This one didn't. It is very close by to where I live, so I would only come back if I'm feeling lazy to drive to the other kbbq places I love. Customer service is great. It was very packed when I got there so it does seem like people do love it here. Again, not the best I've had. Just average!

Yelp
A good but not standout option for Korean BBQ. I feel that 3-4 years ago when there wasn't such an abundance of KBBQ options available, Pro Samgyubsal stood out for the quality of meats available and the size restaurant with its comfortable decor and fairly reasonable price. However, there's many options within a few blocks and especially within a few miles of here with a much larger menu and competitive prices. With that said though, you'll get a delicious meal while dining here with a wide array of different items. The flavor profiles here lean towards more traditional and authentic instead of the sugar laden options you may find at other options. The banchan here is pretty heavy on kimchee and radish options instead of having a big variety of flavor options (like fish cake, corn, etc.). The soup was a surprise, full of flavor, tofu, vegetables, and went well with the meat. The brisket was pretty good, though very similar to other options you can get elsewhere. The pork was definitely better, though I wish there was some marination on it to give it a bit more flavor. The pork belly was definitely fatty and provided in a good portion, with a good level of tenderness. The pork jowls were quite flavorful with a good tenderness, and isn't a common option that you see everywhere. The service was pretty fast in provided the meat, though we weren't provided with as much help with cooking (and cutting) the meat as some other KBBQ restaurants. Overall, tasty and satisfying especially with the pork options. A bit more healthy in terms of preparation and options, but for me there's other options nearby that I prefer more.

Yelp
Had an eye on this place for quite some time driving up and down Milwaukee for a few years. From the outside looking in, it looks appealing! So we finally decided to give it a try! Overall, solid C. Extremely average KKBBQ. My first distain was having to share a table. Not a huge deal since we weren't arm to arm but still...not for us. Next, not AYCE bbq or BYOB but the amount we got wasn't too bad considering the price. We ordered the brisket which is required for two servings your first round. The meat was pretty fatty but still decent. We decided to do one more round and were told it didn't have to be two orders on our third attempt, just one if you request. Overall, it was a good amount of food but our last serving of meat (still brisket) was actually better (less fatty) than our first two rounds? Decent/standard sides : their kimchi was delicious. You pay 2.00 extra for extra rice... Service was good and attentive. Paid 99.00 before tip. Average at best.

Yelp
Usually a line here so go early if you can! The restaurant is filled with Koreans so you know that's always a good sign. Solid meat options and I do not feel rushed by wait staff here. Kimchi is a little sour for my liking, but nothing a few minutes on the grill can't fix. You get complimentary soup and even lettuce here so that's a nice bonus.

Yelp
Wow, I thought our Korean BBQ dinner was a pretty nice value, and no wonder this place is so popular, particularly on the weekends.  Those were my thoughts as I was eating all the courses and realized our pre-tax bill was a pretty reasonable $44 for the 2 of us.  We ordered the special cut pork belly ($21, and tastier per our server than the regular slice) and the sliced pork jowls ($23).  Add to the two meats eight dishes of banchan, a bowl of rice, and a good sized bowl of bean paste soup, and that all becomes a pretty good value meal as mentioned.  We both really liked the radish skins as the best of the banchan, as they went particularly well with the grilled meats, and we ended up getting a refill. The grilled pork belly was delicious as were the jowl cuts, but the jowl meat wasn't as tender as I thought it would be and was more firm but also not chewy. There were a couple of other factors that kept it from being a 5 star meal. One was that dinner is a bit harried when everything is out there and you have a hot grill going, and you're trying to eat all the courses while cooking.  I didn't feel particularly relaxed, but looking back, you can try to finish grilling the meats, and then more leisurely enjoy your meal, though some items may cool off.  The other unavoidable side effect is that despite pretty good ventilation, you still come out smelling Korean BBQ, but that's the way it is.   Both the host and our server were welcoming and nice and we only had a 5 minute wait at 7pm on as Thursday.  The weekend wait is more like 40 minutes per the host.  The smallish strip mall parking lot was also filled so we just drove over to the adjacent strip mall parking lot to the south and close by, but it too was nearly full.  I'm glad we tried this place and it could become a food quality benchmark for us to compare against some of those numerous AYCE Korean BBQ places.

Yelp
I've been wanted to check out Pro Samgyubsal for over 12 years. I always drove by and noticed that the parking lots was Always full of cars. Finally had an opportunity on a Saturday night around 5:30pm. Which I think was a great time bc we didn't have to wait in queue. When we left, there were at least three groups in queue, and the entire restaurant was buzzing and full. Well...hmmm...what do you order at a pork belly restaurant?? Definitely the pork belly. We got two orders of the thin pork belly and I needed some skin on belly as well, the texture is fun for sure! The thin belly cooks up in no time, but I realized if I just left it on for a while it crisps up like bacon...(because well...it's bacon). Also ordered a cold noodle soup to switch things up a little. The sides went really well with the meal. Included pickled radishes, kimchee, marinated turnips, radishes, perilla leaves, marinated lettuce and plain lettuce. I think it's a tad odd that they will only supply 1 sesame oil/bean paste per person otherwise extra. But I think I was fine using what was allotted. The cold noodle soup we ordered was a good refresher to the bbq'd pork.

Yelp
The marinated galbi is the best imo! It is pricey but it's worth it! They give so much ban Chan and the staff is always nice and friendly. It does get crowded during the weekends and I do wish they opened for longer hours. But overall, very solid and would definitely come back.

Yelp
I like em thick! And that is what you get here at pro, thick slices of pork belly. We were all starving after a night at the childrens museum. In a Friday at 7, we were seated right away with 4 adults and 3 crazy children. We truly appreciated that. The sides were good, not bad, just nothing amazing. But their meat...it's so darn good. We even ordered cha dol (thin slices of brisket) and we were not disappointed one bit. Go here if you want authentic, kbbq, at a reasonable pric

Yelp
My husband and I met a friend at Pro Samgyubsal on a Monday night. I was surprised to see so many people at Pro Samgyubsal on a weekday night. We came in about 6:30 and the crazy thing is that the line of people coming in kept getting longer as the night went on. We chose the brisket, pork belly, and pork jowels to grill on the barbecue. The meat was good but it lacked a lot of flavor. The cuts of meat were very lean and the fat is where the flavor is. The accompaniments included kimchee, radishes, and soup. The soup was very yummy, and, to me, was the star of the show. This was our friend's first time at a Korean Barbecue restaurant and he enjoyed the experience. This was a nice place and we had a good meal but there are better options within five to ten minutes.

Yelp
My daughter and I came here on the recommendation of a friend who raved about their pork belly, and we're suckers for good pork belly. Indeed, it was very good, but for a variety of reasons it didn't rank among our better dining experiences. We arrived during the peak dinner period, and had to wait just a short time of time for a table to finish up and be cleared. We perused the menu and explained to the waitress that we weren't interested in any of the beef items, as my daughter isn't a beef eater. She seemed a little disappointed since the beef is twice as expensive as the pork option, and then informed us that there was a two-order minimum, even though the menu clearly indicates that only a few choices had a two-order minimum. She explained to us that since the provide a lot of extras - such as rice, panchan, and a soup, it was necessary to get two orders to justify all those freebies. Uh, okay. So we selected the natural pork belly and the special cut pork belly. We had been planning on ordering one of their noodle dishes, but since we were getting more meat than intended we decided that it would be too much. The meat came out shortly thereafter and she put it on the grill for us. The panchan followed quickly, and we were a little disappointed in the limited variety - I think we're spoiled by what we typically get close to home. The rice and the soup took a little longer to get to our table, but eventually everything was arrayed on our table. The pork belly was indeed quite delicious, and the portions were generous. To be honest, I couldn't discern any real difference between the two types that we got, but in any event we enjoyed them both. Our waitress was initially kind of curt and cool with us (particularly when she realized that we wouldn't be big spenders), but she warmed up as the meal progressed. She did return to our table to check to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction, and even offered to provide us more of the precious panchan and soup if we wished. Anyways, in the end we were pleased with our meal, though the overall experience could have been better. I won't rule out coming back - perhaps with a larger group that would allow an opportunity to sample a broader selection of their dishes.

Yelp
We always go AYCE kbbq. But every time we go, we have to make our $30-50 worth it so we keep ordering to the point we can't even walk to the parking lot. Sometimes it feels awful like so full and all that. Pro Samgyupsal is not AYCE kbbq so you can order enough and don't make you feel awful after. Meat is pretty decent. The service is great, the place as well as the bathroom are well kept clean. Their music is not loud so you can talk without putting an effort and you can hear each other. I didn't have pictures as we dig in right away!
google avatar

Jessy K.

Yelp
The staff was so fast and efficient in everything they were doing! The restaurant was so clean and had great air circulation so it wasnt stuffy. They gave us such a large variety of side dishes and they all tasted so delicious. It also came with a soybean soup of sorts, which we werent expecting, but it was a welcome surprise. The meat was tender and tasty, and I can't wait to come back to try more. The service alone was great.
google avatar

Micaela W.

Yelp
First time having kbbq in a few years! It came with rice, soup, and banchan (I wish there was more variety, most of them were a variation of radish). Everything tasted very fresh and the dressed salad was really good! We came on a weeknight around 8 pm and the wait was about an hour! I could tell they were really trying their best and things were really busy. They don't take reservations would suggest coming early or late and be prepared to wait.
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
Meat quality is very good and the service is great bc they speak both korean and english. most hardcore places dont like speaking both. so total bonus. Im a fan of the marinated ribs over the unmarinated but the service is great and friendly. you need to know what you are doing a little bit in terms of grilling but the sides (bonchon) are good, could be a bit better but overall a really good experience and tasty!!
google avatar

Katherine L.

Yelp
I've brought two sets of friends here for dinner and it was an amazing experience both times. It's super spacious and clean. You can imagine how sticky surfaces can get with bbq'ing but they really do an impeccable job keeping it spotless. We had the brisket, kalbi, special pork belly and kalbi tang last night. And my friends couldn't be happier. The banchan is spot on and is such a nice compliment to the dishes (garlic ramps! So amazing, pickled daikon, kimchee, mumallaengi-muchim, seasoned salad/green onion. So delicious. The staff were super nice and we'll be back.
google avatar

K L.

Yelp
My second time bringing my family here and we always leave happy and super full! Their menu is rather limited compared to other KBBQ places but the quality of their meats is pretty high. Always have great service here as well. Best of all, they are reasonably priced for the amount of quality meat you get!! Caveat is the super long waits; but if you're patient, it's definitely worth it :).
google avatar

Isabel C.

Yelp
The pork belly and side dishes were decent. We received four pieces, but one piece was 80% fat. They were kind of enough to exchange that piece, but still left an unnecessary remark. The service was also not the fastest as we felt like the servers didn't come around unless flagged down multiple times.
google avatar

Christina H.

Yelp
This is my go to spot for Korean bbq! The quality of meat is unmatched. We always get the special cut pork belly and the brisket. If you love a good thick pork belly, you have to order the special cut. There are tons of side dishes and I love grilling the garlic chunks and eating it with the pork belly! They get pretty busy but their service is very efficient and they are able to turn tables pretty quick.
google avatar

Dorothy S.

Yelp
Finally got to eat here and loved it! I'd recommend coming early bc it gets packed real quick and they don't take reservations. The parking lot also fills up super quick. I know they're known for the super thicc samgyupsal, which we got and was great, but I actually liked the thin samgyupsal even more. The marinated galbi was fantastic as well. I was also NEEDING the mool nengmyun, which hit the dang spot. Service was quick and pretty nice. I will be back!

Yelp
A busy place on the weekends. I've been wanting to come and try this place for a long time. We were lucky enough to grab one of the last tables before the longer wait. We even came in earlier. If you want to ensure yourself a table for dinner on the weekends come before 5pm. We ordered the thin sliced pork belly, the natural cut pork with skin on and also 1 order of the mul-naengmyeon. All the food was good. The skin on pork was super fatty and thick, tasty. The think sliced pork belly wasn't super thin but thin enough. And the noodles were delicious too, decently sized bowl. The orders also come with rice, dipping sauces, bean paste soup and side dishes. Overall we left full. The prices though for the thick cut pork belly, $21 for 2 slices of thick cut pork belly, a bit pricey. And the photo I have of the thin sliced pork belly is 2 orders since required minimum 2 orders, so $34.
google avatar

Jared L.

Yelp
If you're in the Glenview area and love pork belly, this place is a must. Nothing out of the ordinary as far as Korean grilled pork bellies go but this ain't Manhattan or Fort Lee so there is something to be said about scarcity.
google avatar

Penny P.

Yelp
We ordered 6 special cut pork. However, the servers (we think owners family) was extremely stingy with their side orders. Their attitude was very unpleasant and unprofessional. Quality of the meat we think it's the same as you'd get at all you can eat Buffett. Their miso soup was flavorless, watered down garbage.

Gupta P.

Yelp
Food is fine, but you will be encountered rude as hell staff. The guy served my table, without saying hi, get my order and never come back for asking food or order. Of course they have a ring bell to call staff, but in that case, you should not expect tips. They will rushing down to your car if you leave low tip, and forcing you to pay 20% of tip. Worst experience I have experienced at the restaurant.
google avatar

Claire L.

Yelp
Hands down, Pro Samgyubsal is the best Korean bbq restaurant I've tried so far in the Chicagoland area! Come early if you want to snag a table because they fill up very quickly. The service is fast and you're immediately given all the accompanying side dishes shortly after sitting down at your table. The pork belly is top notch and tastes great with the different side dishes (the pickled white daikon slices are my favorite, as the tanginess pairs nicely with the juicy pork belly). Everything is super flavorful (and not overly salty) and it's fun cooking the meats at your own table. Will definitely be back to try the other meat options on the menu!

Yelp
A Korean feast rivaling Iron Age, and dare I say ,surpassing it ...The food is excellent, and the place is bustling on Saturday nights ...While New Village Gastro is great, if you crave abundant meat for grilling, this is the spot. We will surely return ...

Yelp
Good marinated ribs. Cut is a bit on the thick side, takes a while to cook. Menu can be a bit confusing because there are items that mention it's an order for 2. Right below is an item that is for 1 but minimum order is 2. Cant it just be double the price but an order for 2? We waited 20 minutes or so on a Saturday night about 7 which wasnt bad. The menu is a bit limited. For example my kids dont need to eat a $35 portion of ribs. They can share one but would have been great if 1 of them ordered a single portion of bulgogi. And the other can order another 1 person dish like bibim bap neither which was on the menu surprisingly. Really a place to basically grill meat. The daenjang soup was good, lots of sides. Be aware you get 1 rice per menu item included. Also with 6 people our tip was included in the bill at 20%. Be careful to check your bill and dont double tip. Unless you really want to. The line where the tip was added was highlighted in yellow. Bibim nangmyun was good. A bit sweet and sour, not too spicy.
google avatar

Lulu K.

Yelp
Thick cut meat of the pork belly is , and pairing it with the bibim naengmyeon was great! The service is quick and kind of a "do your own thing cooking" . if you need help, you can easily press the bottom on the wall that will prompt the servers to come.

Yelp
It's definitely out of the way but worth a visit. I suggest this place for my mom's birthday and on weekends it can get pretty crowded. There were five of us, including my elderly grandmother and they found us a table really quickly with a lot of space for her walker. While it isn't an AYCE place, the fact that it gets so busy should be a testament to how good this place is. We went with the samgyubsal, because it's got to be good, it's in their name. The pork belly was tender and flavorful with enough for everyone even though we ordered for 'four' people instead of five, since it's based on people. The staff were pretty quick with our requests, you have to flag them down sometimes but nothing out of the ordinary for a Korean place.

Yelp
Highly recommend to go with a Korean friend. They knows the best way to cook and feed you~

Yelp
This place is one of my favorite Korean bbq restaurant in Chicago land area. Parking: this place can get busy so recommend going there little early or after 8pm. It's located in a strip mall so you can find parking somehow. Service: waiter was attentive. Once you order food comes out pretty quick. We get what we asked for pretty quick. Food: even though their name promotes pork belly, I find their marinated beef short ribs very tasty. So we normally order short ribs and pork belly. We also order spicy cold noodles and they are good to eat with meats. Their side dishes aren't the best but they are good to eat with BBQ meats. It's bit of pain to grill on the table when you are super hungry but eating hot piece of meat off of your grill is a fresh way to eat. Also their ventilation is pretty good. You don't come out all stinky unless you grilled the meat. So if you are going to try Korean bbq, dress up casual and save your nice clothes for another occasion.
google avatar

Yelp
Chicago needs a quality kbbq place like this. A shame it's not ayce (hence no 5th star). Great location with parking lot(s) and an h Mart across the street you can go to while on the wait list. We got the special cut pork belly and marinated short ribs. Both very good. We really enjoyed the marinated short ribs. See attached photo for that mouthwatering marbling lol. So juicy and tender! Variety of side dishes was lacking. Service was good. Staff were on top of cooking/cutting our meat and changing out the grills.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night and luckily was seated immediately. Parking is limited outside and a bit tight too. This place is no frills, simple and traiditonal in its offering of korean bbq. I was fortunate to visit here with my Korean friend who speaks fluently and it helped out a great deal. We had almost two servings of all the meats and everything was delicious. The staff was quite helpful too and kind to cut the meats and show us how to use the side dishes too. Pricing was in line with other local korean bbq restos and it offers similar menu items. They had a small but good offering of alcoholic beverages. I would come back for something local, near by and parking as opposed to going into the city.

Sa-kiera H.

Yelp
Came here at 8:20 on a Friday and had to wait 30 minutes for a seat. That should tell you how popular this place is. We were the only black people in the restaurant; everyone else was Korean which also tells you that this is legit Korean BBQ. Our friend ordered for us (and wouldn't let us see the bill so I have no idea how much damage we did, lol), and they are known for their pork belly. Everything was absolutely delish! We got the thin cut and thick cut pork belly and (not pictured ) we got kimchee stew. The miso comes standard and both soups were so so so good!!! I could have filled up just on soup alone! The sides/accouterments were so fresh and tasty and complemented the meat perfectly. We got the lychee soju which was amazing too; def try soju if you haven't before. There's a call button to ring your server for refills on the sides, lettuce, and rice. We were the last people in the restaurant and they kindly let us stay as we hadn't seen our friend in two years. Would definitely recommend!!!

Yelp
If you're looking for good kbbq (specifically pork) near Chicago, congratulations. Welcome home. You did it. This is the one. Don't go elsewhere. Don't let the promise of AYCE lure you in (iron age). Don't think that you'll get better taste because of real charcoal (pork fat makes the charcoal smoke up and cause black soot stick to the pork). Don't think the angry ladies of cho sun ok (although the food IS really good there) fool you. This is the place for pork belly. THIS IS THE PLACE FOR NAENGMYUN. I usually take pictures. I did not this time because I could not. I immediately started eating. Everything. It was that good. Food: 5/5 We ordered 1 order thick pork belly ($17) and 1 order special cut pork belly ($19). Overall, it cooks much faster but generally just prettier. Save the $2 and grab 2 orders of the thick pork belly. It comes with Dwenjang jigae (soybean paste soup): delicious, filled with goodies, but a bit salty. It comes with the most amazing kakdooki (pickled or kimchied radish cubes). It comes with aged kimchi to cook and wrap your pork belly. It comes with lettuce and pickled radish slices to wrap your meat in. And it comes with seasoning and garlic pieces. You cook it yourself. It's just good quality good value pork. We also ordered the mool naengmyun (ice cold broth noodles) and were PLEASANTLY surprised by how much apple flavor it had. We've both had naengmyun all around the country and in Korea (my aunt owns a store in seoul!) and this was one of the best we've ever had. It tasted SO GOOD and SO REFRESHING. I don't know how or what they did but the apple flavor is so so so good. Ambience: 4/5 It's not a first date spot. It's honestly just a spot to eat. It's not pretty. It looks like it would in Korea. It has hoods everywhere. It has good food. You get a button to press if you need service or you just yell at one of the servers for help. Straight forward. Service: 4/5 Nothing special here. Everyone is nice. They give you what you ask for. Come here for the food. Stay for the food. Come back for the food. I know I will.

Yelp
Very disappointed this place didn't live up to the Yelp hype. Took about 10 minutes to be seated on a Thursday night. Not terrible. Was given 1 menu for 3 people...and it was very empty. Only beef or pork to choose from. We ordered both, and it was freaking expensive for the quality/amount you received. The fat to meat ratio was easily 2:1. Our rice and soup wasn't delivered until way into our meal. Slow service. Not sure if they acknowledged what we asked for as they just wandered off to other tables. They didn't even let you put the meat on the grill - they just did. They put so much on at once that it just steamed instead of seared. Oh boy, this place was a complete fail.

Yelp
It was immediately apparent the brisket we were served was of high quality. Thinly sliced with wonderful marbling, even raw it looked delicious. Our server was attentive and brought us more sesame oil and bean paste throughout our meal. Pro can be a little stingy with their sesame oil which is a little annoying but it's made up for by the sheer quality of ingredients. We cooked our brisket up with garlic and jalapeño slivers which come with the meat. Each bite of brisket was dipped in rich oil, combined with the fresh garlic and spice of the grilled jalapeño with a little white rice was the perfect combination. Absolutely mouth-watering. The interior is chilly and a bit dated but you don't come here for the decor, you come here to eat! I will be returning soon.

Yelp
Yes yes a thousand times yes! This place is a must go! Price, taste and service were all on point! And I'm Korean so when it comes kbbq I think I know what I'm talking about. The portions were amazing and the side dishes were good and even the meals were reminesence of my Korean days. My favorite from the meals was the Gondeure Namul Bop! That reminded me of what i had in Korea and it's hard to come across in the states so it was a pleasant surprise for sure! My other fav would have been there stew, it was a very long taste that I will be coming back for soon

Yelp
I love KBBQ and this spot has it good. Came here for a friend's birthday and good thing we made a reservation. It was about 15 of us in the party and they had our table almost ready upon arrival. They did accommodate us as best as they can and the service was about average. They had a little buzzer at the table when you need to get their attention but sometimes I felt like they didn't notice it so we had to wave the waitress down a few times. Quality was definitely. Since it was not an AYCE, I had that type of mindset already. They had all types of cuts any KBBQ should have and more. They made sure your side dishes were always filled. This place has it's own parking lot and can be hard if it is a full house.

Yelp
Always did AYCE in Chicago. This is perfect for when you're with people that don't eat a lot AKA that can't get their money's worth at ayce. We were a total of 4 people and we ordered two briskets and one special pork belly. Left full! Thanks pro!

Yelp
Pork belly was delicious and good quality for the price! Service was great even when we asked for refills on side dishes.

Yelp
This past Chicago trip, the roommate's family suggested we get some Korean barbecue. I'm a huge meat eater, so bbq always sounds good to me. Not sure of we had reservations as I didn't coordinate this, but we all showed up on Monday, December 4th around 5:45pm. It wasn't super busy, so we were seated immediately. We had a party of six adults, two kids, and one toddler, so we got a huge table. All BBQ comes with complimentary Rice and Bean Paste Stew: *Thin Sliced Pork Belly: minimum order 2 servings ($12) x4 *Sliced Natural Pork Belly ($14) x3 *Sliced Natural Pork Jowls ($18) x3 *Extra Rice ($1) *Makkoli ($10) *Imported Beer: Kloud, 640 ml ($7) x2 *Soda: can ($1.30) I like thick sliced pork belly, so that dish was more up my alley versus the thin sliced one. So much meaty flavor in that cut! The jowl was also good. Not as tender as I prefer, but it's still one of my favorite parts of the pig. We got the dishes in the order listed above, so I was pretty full by the time we got the jowl. With the size of our table, the above ordered was more than enough. I needed someone to roll me out of here by the end of the night. They also provided a small variety of banchan including kimchee and daikon. And of course, lettuce, garlic, and jalapenos so I could make wraps. Service was excellent! With kids, we always wanted more rice, more side dishes, just more everything. They were very accommodating. Our server kept the side dishes coming as I eat A LOT of kimchi when I make wraps, so that was much appreciated. Awesome place if you are craving pork. I love short ribs and am more of a kalbi eater, but I didn't miss it at all in this case. (Though if you do want beef, they offer that as well.) Definitely a good place to get your pork on!

Yelp
You can't go wrong with pro. Good quality meats and good service. We ordered marinated kalbi, samgyupsal, and chadolbaegi. All equally delicious. Pans were changed out regularly, and service was surprisingly fairly quick as we were here on a Saturday evening rush. This place will always be a staple for Korean bbq. The only negative thing to mention is the side dishes were a little lacking. 3 types of radish (mu saam, kkakdugi, and jangajji), salad, lettuce wrap, and bean paste soup. That said, even with the lack of variety, everything tasted delicious, and pricing was very reasonable. So if you are one who mostly goes for the side dishes, this won't be the place for you. Sorry I forgot to take photos.
