The 16 Best Coffee Shops In London

"Profile is a perfect coffee shop, whether you’re here to nerd out over the oxygen-free fermentation process of their batch and hand brews, or to eat a cookie as thick as the David Nicholls paperback you’re blinking—not crying—into. This Highbury spot doesn't miss. Danish coffee company La Cabra is their brewing partner and house roaster, and staff will happily, and knowledgeably, chat flavour profiles, but won’t judge if an iced decaf oat latte is your thing. A gentle playlist sets the tone, the avocado toast is Maldon salt-sponsored, and there might be a dog within arm’s reach. " - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Profile Coffee Review - Highbury - London - The Infatuation

"Profile is a perfect coffee shop, whether you’re here to nerd out over the oxygen-free fermentation process of their batch and hand brews, or to eat a cookie as thick as the David Nicholls paperback you’re crying into. This Highbury spot doesn't miss. It’s small but if you can sit in, do. A gentle playlist sets the tone, the avocado toast is Maldon salt-sponsored, and there might be a dog within arm’s reach to pet. They’re serious about coffee, but Profile puts equal care into making this somewhere relaxing and pretty for a chat (laptops are relegated to a single table), and a quick bite to eat. photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat" - Sinéad Cranna

Beautiful specialty coffee shop, with care, attention to detail and love injected into every aspect of the business. Everything has been thought through and considered, from the decor, service and music to the food and of course the coffee. Highly recommend this place for those who value quality and want to experience being present with their coffee.

We had two really poor experiences here, back to back. On the first occasion, we just received poor service, with a snappy, passive aggressive male staff member hurrying us through our order and snapping at a mom with two kids behind us. On the second occasion, I was overcharged. A female staff member came out of the back to angrily tell me that it doesn’t matter what the prices say, and that I have to pay it. Whatever. Our group sits down, and whilst we’re eating, this same staff member comes back twice more to continue to pick a fight over the pricing. It absolutely spoiled our experience, and even another woman sitting at the next table over said, “I don’t understand what power play she’s up to, this is absurd!” I left my original positive review, and simply added the photos with a small note. However, the owner’s comment prompted me to revise my original review to a more accurate one, reflecting the sum of our visits. Hope they’re able to get their staff in order, but regardless we will not be back.

High quality coffees, delicious food, minimal cosy design, friendly staff… this place offers a complete package. 🤎 This place will be our regular Sunday post-walk stop from now on.

A perfect flat white. The flavour of the coffee was so good - slightly nutty and fruity, a bit sweet without any sugar just milk. Good looking cakes, didn’t try them yet!

Profile has easily become one of my top three coffee spots in London. It has a really nice atmosphere, the coffees are fantastic and smooth and the food is lovely. We stumbled upon it by chance and decided to give it a go, ordering a Oat milk Matcha, Oat Flat White and a banana loaf to share. All went down a treat, and now I'm looking forward to the next time we're in the area so we can pop in.

The coffee itself was decent, but the experience was completely ruined by the owner’s attitude. I’ve never encountered a business owner so openly rude to customers. Instead of handling feedback professionally, he responds to reviews with hostility and sarcasm. It’s clear from both my visit and his online interactions that he has no interest in customer service—only in arguing. There are plenty of great coffee shops in town where you’ll actually feel welcome. I’d recommend going literally anywhere else.

Wow I love it here! Excellent coffee, we had a flat white which was chocolatey, smooth and easy to drink! As for the filter, it was naturally processed, and tasted quite fruity, light and sweet! An absolute treat to go down! We also managed to sneak in a pain au suisse! We’ve never heard of it before and it looked divine; it was sweet, chocolatey and crisp on the outside while moist on the inside! There are about 4 tables to sit inside and it’s a such a cute space! The baristas are also so so nice and friendly! Would recommend for sure!

Been to many excellent London coffee shops but absolutely none beat profile. Coffee quality is amazing, everyone is super friendly. A cozy neighborhood place and an amazing coffee experience at the same time. Rare.
