The 16 Best Coffee Shops In London

"Profile is a perfect coffee shop, whether you’re here to nerd out over the oxygen-free fermentation process of their batch and hand brews, or to eat a cookie as thick as the David Nicholls paperback you’re blinking—not crying—into. This Highbury spot doesn't miss. Danish coffee company La Cabra is their brewing partner and house roaster, and staff will happily, and knowledgeably, chat flavour profiles, but won’t judge if an iced decaf oat latte is your thing. A gentle playlist sets the tone, the avocado toast is Maldon salt-sponsored, and there might be a dog within arm’s reach. " - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Profile Coffee - Review - Highbury - London - The Infatuation

"Profile is a perfect coffee shop, whether you’re here to nerd out over the oxygen-free fermentation process of their batch and hand brews, or to eat a cookie as thick as the David Nicholls paperback you’re crying into. This Highbury spot doesn't miss. It’s small but if you can sit in, do. A gentle playlist sets the tone, the avocado toast is Maldon salt-sponsored, and there might be a dog within arm’s reach to pet. They’re serious about coffee, but Profile puts equal care into making this somewhere relaxing and pretty for a chat (laptops are relegated to a single table), and a quick bite to eat. photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat Pause Unmute" - Sinéad Cranna

Was very pleased with my visit here. The house espresso was my favourite. The Ethiopian origin was very rich and fruity. The flat white was served to perfection. Banana bread was a great compliment to the coffee. The staff were very welcoming too! Thanks for having me.

Visiting this coffee shop was a fantastic experience. I ordered a flat white with their house beans which were Brazilian. Elisa, the barista, served me a top quality flat white that was made with care and attention. Her service was exceptional. Towards the end Elisa offered me a complimentary cup of their batch brew. Overall, my time spent in this coffee shop was well worth it!

Beautiful little coffee shop on the main strip in Highbury. Great atmosphere as expected. Delicious coffees! Dog friendly as well.

Google
Very nice coffee place with pastries, sandwiches and the assortment of coffee to take home. I found the pastry 4/5 and coffee also 4/5 but for a local spot it’s great

Beautiful specialty coffee shop, with care, attention to detail and love injected into every aspect of the business. Everything has been thought through and considered, from the decor, service and music to the food and of course the coffee. Highly recommend this place for those who value quality and want to experience being present with their coffee.

We had two really poor experiences here, back to back. On the first occasion, we just received poor service, with a snappy, passive aggressive male staff member hurrying us through our order and snapping at a mom with two kids behind us. On the second occasion, I was overcharged. A female staff member came out of the back to angrily tell me that it doesn’t matter what the prices say, and that I have to pay it. Whatever. Our group sits down, and whilst we’re eating, this same staff member comes back twice more to continue to pick a fight over the pricing. It absolutely spoiled our experience, and even another woman sitting at the next table over said, “I don’t understand what power play she’s up to, this is absurd!” I left my original positive review, and simply added the photos with a small note. However, the owner’s comment prompted me to revise my original review to a more accurate one, reflecting the sum of our visits. Hope they’re able to get their staff in order, but regardless we will not be back.

Profile has easily become one of my top three coffee spots in London. It has a really nice atmosphere, the coffees are fantastic and smooth and the food is lovely. We stumbled upon it by chance and decided to give it a go, ordering a Oat milk Matcha, Oat Flat White and a banana loaf to share. All went down a treat, and now I'm looking forward to the next time we're in the area so we can pop in.
