Sonoma is not all about the wines, there are other libations to be discovered. Come check their creative gins, brandy, -and variety of *~chellos. They offer specialty testing (absinthe). Cool cocktail suggestions and supplies.

An awesome place to go for local spirits. Just know that due to the licensing at their location, they cannot serve all of their liquors. They can, however, serve quite a few of their yummies, including absinthe. Photos are from the absinthe experience.

Fantastic Employees on the day that we went in. Super friendly, and had great recommendations. We ended up sampling a lot of alcohol, and we walked home with 4 of them. Strawberry Lemoncello, Espresso Martini, Hazelnut Rum, and some house made absinthe. Just a great experience.

Stopped in today in an attempt to source some ingredients for my featured wedding cocktail and was excited to try their FLOWERS gin with Rose & Lavender notes. Bill was incredibly friendly and helpful, and when I told him my fiancé is Italian/french, he showed me their amazing Lemoncello (love the fun design of the label too) I will definitely be adding that as a menu item! Thanks for all your help!

Our group of 5 friends made a stop here for a tasting. We had a blast! We had a great time each picking out our 6 drinks for the tasting. Our server, George, was very friendly and informative.

My daughter and I had a great time visiting Corner Sonoma! We loved tasting the different liquors and enjoying the company here and the delicious figcello! Thank you for such an enjoyable time! We can wait to visit a again soon!!

On a brisk fall afternoon, nothing delights the senses more than time spent at Prohibition Spirits Distillery Tasing Room. The spirits? Delectable. The service? Top notch. Delaney and Mackenzie took such great care of us. We couldn’t recommend the experience more!

We came in on a Tuesday about ten minutes before they closed to do a pick up of our club member package. Bill is so friendly and helpful as we needed to pick up a couple more items. He gave us a sample of the items in our "bag" and they were soooo goood. Always clean and quiet here in the store and tasting area. We really like the cool vibe of this place and the helpful friendliness of the employees.

Didn't even know this place existed. We had just finished a meal and decided to walk around town and stumbled upon this place. The manager who was working was fantastic, super knowledgeable and helpful. The ambiance is super cool and definitely has a vibe. The spirits are largely flavored spirits, which aren't entirely our jam, so that's really the only reason we're not giving it 5 stars. But the number of spirits you can try in a tasting and the number of unique spirits they have on hand, definitely makes it worth visiting!

The place was recommended. The guy working was helpful, knowledgeable, and a great host. The place only had tastings, no cocktails or drinks to buy. But they had a good amount of drinks to try. You could sample 6 drinks. My favorite would be the Camp s'mores liquor. That was delicious. Would not mind buying the s'mores one to drink on those nice summer nights.

Sip N' Smile Alright, let's dial it back a bit. Prohibition Spirits Distillery in Sonoma is a gem hiding in an alley. We swung by on a laid-back Monday night, practically owning the place. The bartender, who pegged us as non-locals, was a real stand-up guy. He laid out the tasting options, and we landed on this brandy - could've been the XO or VSOP, but it was basically scotch's cousin. Cool thing, is their spirits are derived from grapes! Now, our group was split - some diving into the sweet and tart limoncello flight, while I chased the whiskey and brandies. Went for hazelnut, not bad. In hindsight, splurging on the pricier stuff in the six-flight might've been the move - same cost, better quality. Overall, it was a good, easygoing time. The bartender was a champ, making the whole experience top-notch. If you're watching your wallet, mix in some of the high rollers in your flight. Or just cut to the chase, grab a bottle based on their suggestions. Our Napa Sonoma tour with friends got the stamp of approval, so here's to Prohibition Spirits Distillery! Cheers!

We came in on a rainy Sunday afternoon and enjoyed talking to Bill about their spirits. He also gave us plenty of restaurant suggestions to walk or drive to. We ended up splitting a flight of 6 tasters after our lunch. We purchased a bottle of Pomegranate syrup and rhubarb ginger gin. Quite reasonable pricing, cozy seating with easy street parking. Thanks, Bill!

Stumbled upon this store while strolling in downtown Sonoma one night, and glad I found it! It's a cute little store with a lounge-like atmosphere. If you are looking for a break from wine, they have quite the selection of spirits to taste and buy. And the service is amazing, our "bartender" educated us well about their selection and gave us great suggestions for our pours. We weren't planning on it, but ended up leaving with a couple bottles to make cocktails at home!

My husband and I, and a friend, went here twice on a Sonoma trip, in part because it opened at 10am and we weren't sure what else to do. Husband and I ended up joining their club because, on both days, we had great service. Denise helped us on the first visit, and a very nice man, whose name I can't remember now, helped us the second time. If you like brandy, gin, or vodka, definitely check them out. The store is very cozy with a relaxed atmosphere . They offer six half-ounce tastes for $25, and in addition to being nice, their staff are knowledgeable about the products and will also provide cocktail ideas. I hope this place stays where it is for a long time!

The service here is welcoming and great. I'm not even a wine or whiskey drinker and I enjoyed the flight experience. We'll definitely make this a go to spot when we return. We picked up a bottle and are excited to share it when people come over. Thank you to the two guys working amongst the disco balls! I should have known it was going to be spectacularly magical!

Always a great time with the folks here at prohibition. We came to pick up our shipment & while there decided to try their new absinthe tasting experience, it was equally cool & delish! We took a bottle of absinthe home along with our shipment, it was just too good.

Staff is so friendly. Little shop is super cute. We even saw the owners and they were very friendly and explained the absinthe our friends got. We got to try 6 different sipirts. They were all in order from non sweet to sweet. Each one had a very unique flavor. My favorite was the melon mint gin and guava paradise liquor. We also got some salami and almonds. The almonds had some spice mix that they do and it was amazing! We will definitely be back.

This is an amazing distillery experience. The idea of utilizing Sonoma as a backdrop is perfect for telling the story of handcrafted spirits is perfect and well executed. No doubt this will inspire other distillers to do the same here and elsewhere.

I was already having a pretty sweet day off from work when I decided to stop by Prohibition Spirits Distillery (PSD). But walking up to the spot, I saw their sign that read "we make great spirits to keep you in good spirits," and I just felt a stupid grin slowly make its way across my face. Anyway, PSD is conveniently located in the infamous Cornerstone shopping center off of highway 121 and within a short distance of the Airport. It's the brainchild of Fred and Amy Groth. They started out crafting limoncello, but the product list has since expanded to include brandy, bourbon, gin, and other wonderful offerings. ___Products___ Coffee Liqueur: The folks at Prohibition took green Ethiopian coffee beans, aged it in their bourbon barrels, roasted them at Petaluma Coffee and Tea, and then cold brewed in their brandy. Damn, this is good! The coffee is prominent and doesn't taste artificial at all. I've been sipping their coffee liqueur neat, but I'm sure I can find other uses for it. I understand this is a limited offering so get your bottle while you can! Sonoma Julep: Their take on a bottled mint julep combines brandy with mint infusions. Just pour over ice and you're golden! I'm quite fond of mint juleps, though a brandy version seemed different to me. I think I prefer bourbon. Still good. Craft Hand Sanitizers: Prohibition decided to switch gears and help fill the hand sanitizer deficit when COVID-19 hit (thank you btw). These cocktail-inspired hand sanitizers come in 4 scents (lemon-drop martini, pins colada, key lime margarita, old fashioned) and are probably my favorite hand sanitizers! They kill germs and smell quite pleasant. Old fashioned is my favorite of the bunch, but I wish the bourbon aroma was more prominent rather than alluding to the presence of bourbon. *After reading my review draft, I think I just have a very pro-bourbon disposition haha. ___Bonus Material___ -They host online cocktail classes. -Cocktail kits are currently available. -They sell the bourbon barrel coffee beans used for their liqueur. -They collaborate with other local businesses. Many ingredients are sourced from elsewhere in Sonoma or are at least California-grown. The coffee was roasted in Petaluma. Moreover, the employee I spoke with was listing things I could check out while at Cornerstone. -Cornerstone is pretty cool. ___What I Don't Like___ -A Few Spartan Descriptions: I work in research so I love details. What's the story behind your product? What's special about it? Is it the ingredients? The process? What's the flavor profile like? Some product descriptions on the website left me wanting more. -They are too far away for me to just drop in whenever I want. Oh well. Stop by if you're in wine country!

Great tasting room. There is a homey feel with seating indoors and outside. You choose your own tasting which makes it nice. Loved the gin selection!

Absolutely loved visiting this place and sampling various liquid gold. George and the rest of the staff were amazing, answered all of my questions and made our experience there far better than I imagined. Thanks guys, can't wait to come back.

This establishment is not located out on the Main Street. It's hidden away in an alley like areya. The place looks to be new and there are a few tables available so you can enjoy your tasting. It costs about $25 for 6 tasting. I did like the Hazelnut Liqueur and the Limoncello the be best. The 2 employees here were very nice and attentive. They would come by every so often to check up on us. I'm not a big Brandy or hard liquor type of person, but the 2 I mentioned above, I did like.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at the tasting room. Jacque in particular went above and beyond to make it a special and memorable experience. We were in town under sad circumstances in March, but thanks to their impressive hospitality we left with a smile and will definitely be back. The photo I will attach shows many of the products that we procured from Prohibition after thoroughly enjoying the tasting. I generally don't create reviews, and even though it is two months late, I wanted to complement the service we received from Jacque.

Came here with the hubby and appreciated the friendly service! I am glad we found this gem because it offered something a little different from the wine tasting around. The service was also amazing!

Super fun for spirit tasting. Staff is great! You can taste 6 spirits for $20 and you can share your tastes (that's a LOT of alchol ). They specialize in Gin, Brandy and Lemincello type aperitifs. The Gin has several flavors and the Brandy even more. We tried orange, chocolate, pumpkin spice, pear, etc. Then to top it off they had candy cane moonshine - yummy. They have a stand up shuffle board to entertain yourself through the tasting plus fun stuff for sale. Fun to taste something different in wine world. You can see by my photo we wanted to taste them all.

A fun visit while my husband and I waited to pick up our daughter in the area. They have a great selection and spirits, it was fun to try their tasting and the staff were very informative and friendly. We needed up joining their club, we are looking forward to more tasting in the future.

Unusual spirits as well as gins, brandy, etc. Can be quite busy, especially on the weekends. Worth the wait. We became club members. Go in for a tasting, it is really worth your time if you are into spirits.

Checked out Cornerstone Sonoma on a Saturday afternoon in the fall. Such a cute place and area. The inside was definitely appealing and they have outdoor seating for tastings close to the garden, very dog friendly. We didn't have a dog with us but other people did and they even had bowls of water for the dogs. The workers were super friendly and sanitized our table and area before we sat and gave us waters. They had a variety of spirits and options to choose from. There was a $30 spirit tasting of 6 different types of drinks, or mixed drink cocktail specials. We went ahead and got the 6 spirit tasting each (there were 3 of us). And from the looks of it we thought it would be super easy for us to drink but we were wrong haha. We got to choose 6 different ones and our host put them in order for which ones we should start off with. We loved the cognac and took a bottle home. I actually enjoyed the moonshine. We just took sips and it felt it right away since we haven't been drinking so much since covid. Once we tasted all of the spirits, we felt like we needed chase. Our host recommended a sparkling water to balance and apple juice really helped us take them like shots. Between the 3 of us we could have shared one tasting, having our own was a little overboard. But would def recommend supporting local tastings!

My husband and I had a lot of fun visiting Prohibition Spirits Distillery! For $25 you can create your own tasting flight with 6 different spirits, so we each made our own and it was really fun going through the list together and picking out what to try. There were so many options! My favorites were the pink gin and the melon & mint gin, while my husband really enjoyed the figcello and the watermelon vodka. It's such a cute and friendly shop, I definitely recommend paying them a visit!

This is a fun place conveniently located at Cornerstone. They have some different and delicious spirits. You can taste as many spirits that you like, normally 6 for $20 but you can go more or less. The figcello was really good as was the lemoncello. I was a big fan of the gin. Definitely worth a stop if you are at Cornerstone or even if you are driving by

If you're looking to taste local Sonoma County adult beverages- but need a break from beer and wine- this is the place to be! Fred and Amy are making a delicious collection of interesting spirits with interesting backstories. I had the pleasure of being part of a private cocktail class with Fred leading us through tastes of his rums, gins, vodkas, bourbons and liqueurs. This class was held outside on a beautiful day at the Cornerstone gardens. It was epic! I definitely recommend a stop here. Or if you're looking for a fun group experience, try a private class.

Best service we had today. After receiving Poor service during lunch, we did a spur of the moment tasting at the prohibition spirits. Both the lady and gentleman were very pleasant and helpful. Everything was delicious and the venue beautiful. We went home with the pumpkin spice liquor in a beautiful bottle ... thank you for making our day better. We will definitely be back with friends .

I just tried this new gin, Jacks gin #3 Melon and Mint. It's great in various ways. It's delicious as a straight neat drink, on the rocks, on the rocks with lime or lemon or with tonic. Interesting finish... I sensed more melon flavor than mint. When I drink gin it's usually with tonic and lime but I found myself for the first time liking it on straight and on ice the best. Now, with all these triple digit weather heat waves especially in August and Sept 2020... this comes at a great time to try- whew! This was refreshing and made the heat an afterthought. Cheers everyone!!!

I am all about Prohibition Spirits Distillery. We heard of it from my aunt and uncle, who had a bottle of their Fig Brandy at Thanksgiving. Fig Brandy? Yes, it's as delightful as it sounds. They also had this Hendrickseque gin (full of cucumber flavor) that was really good. Since we were headed to Sonoma for some wine tasting we decided to pop in and check it out. I like their flights because you can pick what you want to try. I was very impressed by the vodka, which says a lot because I'm not a big vodka fan. Their spirits don't leave you with that "alcohol stank face" because one sip tastes like your whole chest is going to melt. We took home a bottle of this Grand Marnieresque Brandy and it's fabulous. I can drink it neat, on the rocks, or in a Hot Toddy. The gentleman that helped us was great. You could tell he was passionate about the product and knew his stuff. The store is cute with all kinds of fun drinking accessories. And you can order their stuff online, which is perfect because I know this Brandy won't last long.

Fantastic selection, amazing service, and genuine hospitality! Will tell everyone about them. Ended up walking out with the Mint gin. Soooo good. My friend but so many brandy's. Such a great space. Can't wait to be back!

We were having lunch with some friends at Cornerstone Sonoma and someone mentioned there was a distillery in the area. We were touring the Sunset Magazine gardens and finally ran into the entrance to the distillery. It was a little hard to find since it is in the back of the shopping area. We were greeted as we walked in. There were some other people there so we looked for a place at the bar. There were six of us. We found a spot at the end and were given a list of what they offer. They offer quite a few brandies. You can pick 6 to try. It comes in small tasting cups (kind of like the little cups that come with cough syrup). The staff were great. They were kidding around with us and discussing some of the different spirits. One pear brandy we tried tasted a bit of and so the guy assisting us tried it and also thought it didn't taste right. He opened another bottle which allowed us to taste what it really tasted like. We ended up purchasing the Sonoma Julep (a brandy and mint cocktail) and the fig flavored brandy. If you would like to try some interesting spirits stop by as the have a decent selection to choose from and staff were very knowledgeable.

This place has a lot of fun spirits to choose from. We chose not to do to do tastings as we had already tasted at a few wineries and had beer and wine at a restaurant and speakeasy. I probably would have given the place five stars, but I had placed about $150 worth of purchases on the counter and asked the person at the counter if we could have a wee taste of some orangecello and the person at the counter said it wouldn't be fair to the people that paid for full tastings. I work at a winery and I know that a high percentage of people that pay for the tasting fee do not purchase anything else. If someone wants a taste of something we have open, I usually always oblige, whether they have paid for a tasting or not. This establishment probably could have made at least $27 more if the person waiting on us would have poured a .25 ounce pour of the orangecello for us to taste. A week later I'm still shaking my head at the reasoning behind this. Hire people with good customer service skills.

Prohibition Spirits is located at Cornerstone Sonoma which consists of 3 wineries, art installations, market, small shops, and this spirits shop! You can easily spend all day exploring all of the grounds and tastings. We were wine tasting down the road and loved the idea of breaking it up with something different. It was $10 for 6 tastings. The spirits are of great quality. We tried various brandys and lemon-cellos and ended up buying a melon and mint brandy. Simone was pouring our tastes and was very personable and fun to talk to. We can't wait to take some of our spirt loving friends here!

Pretty place! I confess I entered there mostly because of that Vespa and that fake huge poster of an Italian street. I needed a pic in there (pity that the pictures ended up blurry). Very cute to stop for a drink while checking the Sunset gardens inside the Cornerstone complex.

This was amazing. The tasting itself was fantastic. They make wonderful products and the woman who did our tasting was so personable and engaging. This is a return trip for me but I definitely plan on visiting again. Also as a side note we purchased a bottle for a relative who is gluten intolerant because all of their products sold on the tasting room are grape-based

I was at Cornerstone the other day for a friend's wedding and had a little time to kill before the ceremony started. While wandering the property, I bumped into Prohibition Spirits Distillery. I checked my watch and saw that I had 25 minutes before showtime. So... don't mind if I do! I saddled up at the small bar and perused their eclectic selection of spirits. There were gins, brandies, whiskey, run, Limencello (lions and tigers and bears... oh my!). I decided to do a gin flight (3 tastes of 3 different gins for just $10 - they also offer 6 tastes for $20). The gin they were pouring was called Jack's Gin (named after author Jack London). The three gins I chose were: the London Dry; the Melon & Mint; and the new Pink Gin. My favorite was hands down the Melon & Mint. You could really taste the sweetness of the cantaloupe. It almost tasted like a Jolly Rancher candy. If you added a little soda and ice, you'd have the perfect poolside/summer cocktail. The guy working behind the bar was friendly and attentive. And I like that he didn't try to pressure me into buying a full bottle. That being said, if you are a serious cocktail enthusiast or have one in your life, I would keep Prohibition in mind for the holidays. Lots of potent goodies to take home. I look forward to returning here soon and exploring their rums and whiskey!

Prohibition Spirits is a nice addition to tasting in the Sonoma Valley. It lacks the pretentiousness of a fancy winery; they are located behind a car repair shop. Don't be fooled by the location Prohibition Spirits is warm and inviting when you enter. The day we went they had just been peeling lemons for the Limoncello and the visitors' room smelled wonderful. The group that was tasting the day we were there sat on couches and chairs and tasted several of their creations including: Hooker's House Bourbon, Hooker's House Rye, General's 21 year-old Reserve and Private's Select White Corn Whiskey, Limoncello and Figcello. My favorite was Figcello, I wish I had bought more than one bottle I would have never heard about them if I had not purchased a LivingSocial coupon they are a bit off the beaten path and cannot be seen from the street. Don't let this deter you.

Great place for tasting everything else but wine. Loved everything we tried. Great customer service and very knowledgeable server. Enjoyed tasting everything. Very cute shopping center and gardens for kids to run around. Super cute place for photos and gifts.

Love this place. The owners and staff very friendly and helpful. I really enjoy their hibiscus gin. So smooth and tasty. Just bought my 2nd bottle today....and I don't even like gin. We always stop by when we are in the neighborhood.

I first met General Hooker at an Irish pub where he introduced me to his rye whiskey that he ages in zinfandel barrels for a great finish. As sometimes happens to me when I'm in Northern California, I got swept along in the overindulgent and mildly raucous evening. I am grateful to Murphy's Irish Pub in Sonoma for introducing me to General Hooker and a bottle of the Hooker's House Rye which was for me a better souvenir of this visit to wine country than...wine. To spin off from the Ogden Nash quote; "Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker." I would like to submit this Prohibition Spirits Hooker's House Rye inspired twist: "Wine is fine but whiskey is divine." Seriously, give the Hooker's House Rye a taste, you'll be impressed.

DEAR OWNER, PLEASE help your customers out and put up a sign at your distillery directing people to your tasting room and change the address on yelp. Review... After figuring out where to go yesterday without time to get there, today we had fantastic service and great educational conversation with the guy pouring tastings. We tried the 3 brandy options and gins 2,3 and 4. We were impressed and will be back to try more.

The best service!!!! It was raining when we went and they were so accommodating. We did our tasting in the cutest trailer and had a blast. A great stop if you are between tastings or if you just want to hang out and enjoy the incredible gardens. The spirits were also delicious and fun too!

Here is a fun place to check out if you enjoy spirits. My first limoncello was in Italy from a tall frozen shooter glass. The limoncello from Prohibition Spirits is much better. More of the lemon taste - as in "fresh". $10 tasting gets you 3 tastings of anything you want. (Stacey C says she got 6 tastings for $10 - maybe my pours were more generous. Plenty to enjoy and share with Sofie who enjoyed the spirits but isn't fond of strong drink.) I had: Figcello - like limoncello only made with figs and proprietary herbs. (They all contains proprietary herbs.) Hint of figs - a desert. Nocino - black walnut liqueur - I purchased a bottle of this because it was unusually good. Like nothing I've ever eaten. It's potent and a likely candidate to mix with vodka or pisco to make a "different" drink. Chauvet Brandy Prickly Pear - This reminded me of pisco. Very subtle taste and quite nice. I love to see local breweries, distilleries, bakeries and wineries come into play in the Northern California to exploit the unique attributes of soil, water, air. California is a relatively young and under developed piece of the world. When I was a kid, wineries were a novelty - everyone drank either red or white wine. Ordering a variety was considered "sophisticated". Prohibition Spirits - California wines distilled into California brandy and California fruit infused into unique beverages.

Hibiscus gin? For reals? Oh was it lovely and I don't even like gin. A perfect summer bottle with a nicely made gin tinted with a glowing hibiscus hue! Lovely place with great service. Amy, the co- owner was a hoot, as well as knowledgeable and generous! Highly recommend a visit while at cornerstone. Cool bar toys and lots of fun souvenir off the beaten path options.

Over the past few years I have really gotten into craft spirits, basically found out that the major conglomerates produce plain boring and tasteless products (For the most part). Prohibition Spirits joins the club of exceptional craft spirits in Sonoma County and I was thrilled to hear they opened a tasting room outside of their small operating distillery (Basically a warehouse). The tasting room is located at the Cornerstone Sonoma complex, which boasts several art studios, wineries, and food options. When I visited Prohibitions tasting room, they were serving up a seasonal pumpkin based spirit, forgive me for not remembering if it was a rum or whiskey, but it was phenomenal! After sampling the seasonal fare, we opted for two tastings to really get a lay of the land as they offer quite a selection and is impossible to taste/consume in one tasting! I started with the Brandy VS and Brandy Grand Orange, both were delightful and really had a great balance between the spirit and flavors blended in. Went with a Bourbon and House Rye next, but the Bourbon really shined out of the two though if I really had to put them head to head against each other. I finished with the specialty Vodka and Moonshine, let me be honest with you, make sure to put some carbs in your stomach as the Moonshine may be a bit much for a lot of individuals out there. With that said though, I was not a huge fan of the Vodka as I tend to like flavored Vodkas, but the Moonshine was excellent! My relative ended up loving her entire flight, which I did not partake in, but she walked away with the Lemoncello (The big seller) and a Figcello. So long story short, if you are into spirits and making your way from the city or you need a break from wine tasting and in the area, make sure to add Prohibition Spirits to your list as it will be time well invested.

Stumbled upon this gem while eating at the cafe around the corner. They have the best spirits, highly recommend the Pink Gin. Very personable staff, so definitely have a seat and try one (or ten) tasters. You won't be disappointed!

Great place to sample different takes on brandy, bourbon, limoncello, gin and vodka. Personal taste dominates (sweet go for limoncello, astringent go for the Nocino, strong juniper the #1 gin), but the XO compares with the best. Taste 6 for $10, but a little goes a long way. Located at Sunset Gardens new digs in Sonoma which has great demo gardens plus sculptures.

Hey, their product is beautiful and taste quite good. But after we bought some bottles we wanted to do a tasting. They were so disorganized. Sent us to one table. Then said that was reserved. Then we waited outside for 20 minutes. No service. The two people behind the counter were totally unable to handle any volume. Seems like one could not work without the help of the other. The owners need to consider having some real restaurant service type people, - they didn't seem well trained for this type of experience.
