How the Minnesota State Fair Chooses Food Vendors | Eater Twin Cities

"Getting a new building with a peek-a-boo window into all the action, Pronto Pup will not only serve as a giant Pronto Pups vendor but also function as the wholesale space for its franchised stands (whose ingredients were previously stored in a hidden warehouse at the heart of the fair); I note the new location will be across the street from the Ball Park on Underwood Street between Dan Patch and Carnes avenues." - Alex Lodner

Delicious original corn dogs!!! So happy to see my childhood “carnival and county fair” favorite in Rockaway this fall! Even have veggie dogs for the veggie in the family!! Spotless restaurant. Loved the saddle on the corn dog ride. Apparently they put antlers on the roof dog for winter!! 🤣🎄

Google
Pronto Pups are the original corn dogs and still the best in my opinion.

Yelp
Such a cute little hut on the side of the road. We pulled up and the tables outside were full of people, yet the service was surprisingly fast! I don't love corn dogs so I ordered a mozzarella-dog and the prices were very reasonable. We got our order quick and easy. The corn dog itself was not my favorite, too soft and moist for me, I prefer a crunchier texture. The fry sauce they provide was delicious though! Overall not a bad meal, just not my style. I encourage others to try for sure as my partner enjoyed the veggie dog!

Yelp
For a supposed historic stop, the experience was a let down. Service ~ terrible. Unnecessary frantic behavior & non-mannered from ordering to watching the kitchen. Corn dog ~ not pronto at all. Waited 20 minutes for 2 dogs and the batter was raw inside. After a bite and showed the counter, the 'manager' gave an evil eye as if it was our mistake? We threw away the food and left.

Yelp
I had a Pronto Pup from their food cart at the Turkey Trot. It was the most perfect corn dog & with prompt service. They hand dip the corn dogs per order. Delicious food with a rich Portland history. They made the original corn dog! The ambiance depending on where they pull up.

Yelp
Food was okay, mostly fried but quite a lot of raw batter. A bit overrated considering it's a major tourist stop, but overall it's a good 3. Food is very well priced, cheap. $8 for most expensive item on menu and still, it's a foot long sausage inside so that's reasonable. Considering the price, we expected the dogs to be small so we ordered two a person. They're actually larger than normal corn dogs so you might just want to order one and a side. Overall, maybe this is a fun stop on a roadtrip but I wouldn't recommend eating here again.

Yelp
I hear it's a nostalgic place. The corn dog was pretty good. Wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but it wasn't terrible.

Yelp
I saw this place and was curious what it was about so I had to check it out. I think everyone has encountered a Pronto Pup at maybe at carnival or fair in their lifetime. It's a great childhood memory of mine. Gotta love it! This is a fun kind of place for fund raising or just family/friend get-together ideas. They sell what you need to make pronto pups, curly fries, caramel apples, popcorn, snowcones and much much more. Many of you may not know the Pronto pup has been around since 1941 when Mr. and Mrs. George Boyington started selling the delicious battered and deep fried dogs on a stick in a fountain shop in Portland Oregon. From there they went crazy, fairs carnivals and so on. If you get a chance stop by and check it out, pretty cool! 2015-78

Yelp
Garbage service, blatant disregard for service animal laws and completely unprofessional.

Yelp
Dave, the owner, is the nicest guy ever. He saved me when I was having a "cotton candy emergency" today and I won't forget it. I would highly recommend Pronto Pup for all your fun event/carnival needs!
