Yelp
CASH ONLY.
SUMMARY: The dogs themselves were...edible. The rest is good.
There's a line here, but it moves quickly. The cash only works out well enough, because the 1.75 per dog price includes tax, so no delay in managing pennies or anything.
The service is fast and friendly. You pretty much get your order immediately. They've got the rhythm down -- grab your dog, wrap a napkin very neatly around the base of the stick, expertly hand it off to you so it's easy for you to grab, and if you want mustard or ketchup, they'll paint a bit on for you.
The prices here are great. 1.75 per dog, and 1 dollar for a cold pop. I'm truly surprised they're not charging 3 or 4 bucks per dog these days. Is this business the only place not inflating prices? Huge props to them for keeping prices down. It's probably doable because of 1) young staff, 2) tiny location, 3) super cheap ingredients, 4) massive output. It took us maybe 5 minutes to get through a line of 20 people, and pretty much everyone was grabbing 4 dogs or so. I'm sure they do thousands of corndogs per day.
The location is great. Beautiful, short walk from downtown, and you can walk from the shop right down to the water, and there's plenty of grass and benches to sit.
The worst part -- unfortunately -- is the corndog batter. It's fried well, so it's a pleasant experience. But it's thin, it doesn't seem corn-based, so it's pretty lacking in flavor, and it doesn't add any sweetness. Maybe toss in some sugar? Or a splash of vanilla? Something to add some flavor.
I'd be upset if this place was charging more than 1.75 per dog, but since it's fast and cheap and overall a good experience -- and since the owner is apparently red pilled -- I'd definitely recommend stopping by and grabbing a fistful of dogs. They go down easy, so you won't have to worry about spoiling your meal if you plan on eating out.
