Joel was totally fantastic. He took a lot of genuine pride in the entire establishment it was nice. Our table shared the espresso martini flight. It was stellar. Highly recommend! Thank you so much, Joel!

Cade Shortt

Google
The drinks were great, reasonable pricing, proper glassware for neat whiskey. Most impressively, I watched a single server handle a wedding party of 40-60 show up by surprise. She did exceedingly well at handling a surprise crowd at 3 pm.

Google
Amazing cocktails, top shelf service. One of the longest Whiskey lists I've seen.

We went out to a bar called Proof in Omaha for a friend’s birthday. There’s a huge selection of scotch to choose from and there mixed drinks are tasty and they have a good beer menu as well. I had the house Old Fashion for $5. It was not bad but also not the best I’ve had. I would probably order a different one the next time just to see the difference but I’d still order this one. They have a very small selection of food to choose from as it is not a restaurant but an actual bar. The music was fun and sounded like you were in a Speak Easy. The bartenders were dressed up in suit vests which made the feel of the bar even more like something from the roaring 20s. They were polite and attentive. Even the owner visited our table and was sociable with us. This was a very pleasant experience and I would definitely go back.

Google
Stopped by for an Old Fashion to end the evening. Was surprised it wasn't very busy for a Saturday night. This bar is very nice with great atmosphere and drinks! The service is top notch as well.

Google
A very relaxing atmosphere near downtown Omaha. More brands/types/styles/bottles of distilled spirits than I’ve personally seen. The server was extremely knowledgeable and tailors a flight of whiskey/bourbon to your tastes. The flight that was created for me was very good and allowed me to try some brands/labels that I’ve never had. All were excellent. Going there on a Wednesday has the added benefit of 25% off the tab. However, deducting a star because the tab didn’t reflect the 25% so had to ask. That shouldn’t have had to happen.

Google
Really great place. Everyone there is really nice and super caring and the drinks are good. The new guy is super nice too. I accidently fell asleep cause sports was on and he made sure I was ok. The fizzy violete drink is better than the non fizzy one.

Google
I'm in love with this place. If you like incredibly flavorful, boozy drinks, THIS is your place! We tried several of the "house" cocktails on the menu and we were blown away by them all. (And between me and my friend, we tried several of the drinks) also liked their hummus and spinach dip apps to munch on. The atmosphere and the ambience of the place was awesome too! Can't wait to come back!! Also shout-out to the bartender Jackie for being awesome and making our drinks with perfection. Worth every penny! ❤️❤️❤️

Yelp
Proof is always the spot that comes to mind for amazing cocktails in Omaha...but when my friends and I saw they were doing an espresso martini flight on their fall menu, we had to get there asap!!! Grabbed seats at the bar, and the bartenders were friendly and attentive. The flight was beautifully presented and each drink was really quite good!! It is a little pricy ($50 but it is 4 whole martinis), and if you go during happy hour, you'll save a little. Perfect for sharing with a friend! Plenty of meter parking around Midtown Crossing, and they have a great patio overlooking Turner Park!

Keith N.

Yelp
4.5 stars for Proof, it's a great Whiskey bar in mid town crossing that has excellent bar staff, great selection of bourbon, scotch, etc and excellent drinks. I would call it whiskey-centric, but you can get pretty much any spirit you can think of, they also sell bourbon and scotch. The bar is open and airy, and there is such a large selection that you will have fun just looking at everything they have. The drink menu is really solid, the banana bread old fashioned and whiskey sour are two of my favorites.

Monica D.

Yelp
The drinks are made to order from fresh ingredients, all mixes are made in house. The bartender was so nice and knowledgeable!! They have outdoor seating available in the summer overlooking the park, so super relaxing. They don't serve food, but welcome patrons to bring their own food. Cost is reasonable considering the quality and atmosphere.

Steve L.

Yelp
If you're staying at the Westin Element, this is connected to the entrance to the property in a weird sort of way. Bourbon, Scotch, and whisky is their game. Lots of rare, allocated bottles. If you've ever wanted to try something before you plop down $80 at a store, I recommend a place like this. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and timely. Bonus if you visit on Wednesday night. ALL whiskies are 25% off.

Jessica F.

Yelp
Service is top notch and the bartenders are creative. Nice large patio to partake in your favorite cigar.

Krista H.

Yelp
I walked in and, a party was about to end came into town for it got recommended to come here some guy told me very rudely to leave and come in in like an hour and a half. I said I'm literally in town for night and. Just shrugged his shoulders will never even try and go to this place again with him stating that the people in here are spending big money and they are his first priority. Worked in hospitality and was shocked that was his response. I just asked to get a drink and take a picture for my birthday. Horrible service.

Alison Z.

Yelp
Loved the location and the outdoor and indoor seating. Service was good and very knowledgeable of their drinks. I'd say these two drinks are the best on their menu. Ambiance is exactly how you'd want it to be, great spot for conversation.

Ayoosh K.

Yelp
The cocktail selection with a full bar is excellent. It's a classy vibe, with exceptional service. Unfortunately they don't serve food, but you can bring yours in!!

Literal A.

Yelp
Exceptional service, the drink selection is vast and the bartenders can even recommend one of their own made concoctions. Great "speakeasy" type ambiance without actually being a speakeasy and even when these guys are packed, always finds a time to check on us.

Yelp
Happy-Hour | Chill | Snacks Happy-Hour: This place has happy hour until 7 PM. They do 25% off their entire menu for the happy hour special. Their Happy hour end time was REFRESHING! Normally happy hour ends at 5:30 or 6 PM. As someone who normally wants to change out of my work clothes before enjoying a cocktail, this is awesome. So, if you're going to grab a drink after work and it's 6:15 PM, this is your place. Chill: Overall, the place is super low-key. The bar is the establishment's focal point, and they have community tables throughout the indoor area. There are 1-2 booths in a corner. But, overall, it is a great place to show up with friends and meet new people. It's one of the few places organized in a way that highly encourages you to meet neighbors or bring groups of 6+. Snacks: This is definitely a drinking spot. Their food menu is extremely limited to snacks. We had the pretzel bites that were good to snack on, but this is either a place to start or finish your night. Pro Tip: They have indoor and outdoor space, so it will be a great spot to catch a drink after work or to start your weekend. Pro Tip: They have a massive cocktail menu. Very impressive. They have all types of liquors - So be prepared to pick your adventure. Their list has a great range in terms of tequila, whiskey, and scotches. So, if you have "high-end" taste or you want to do the "taste test" on your own with friends, this is a great spot.

Michelle J.

Yelp
One of the first Whiskey bars I visited in Omaha, this place is an absolute gem. Not only is the interior beautifully decorated with extremely comfortable seats, the drinks crafted here are works of art. One of my absolute favorites was the Pumpkin pie martini. It was so creamy and smooth, one of the most memorable cocktails I've ever had. My friends and I love to come here to catch up. It's such a comfortable environment to have lively conversation and the service is top notch. The staff genuinely want you to have an enjoyable time while indulging a tasty beverage. I am not the biggest whisky fan but I have tried several of their other cocktails (Mai Tai, Kiwi Sour, Lavender Fleur) and they are all so delicious! They also have an enormous collection of many liquors for those feeling more adventurous. This place is a must try!

Kelvin M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with knowledgeable bartenders. I will be back. Only thing that would make it better to me is if they served apps.

Mary M.

Yelp
fantastic service, great cocktails... only reason it doesn't get a 5th star is because they need napkins

Sarah P.

Yelp
This bar has a wonderful bourbon and whiskey collection with knowledgeable bartenders who can whip up fantastic creations. To start, I had an old fashioned, which was delicious. I then moved onto the smoky bandit, which is a scotch twist on the Cherrywood. Everything was delicious and their 25% off everything during Happy Hour is always a great bonus! I'll be back

S S.

Yelp
I went here to get a couple of drinks while visiting from California. Nice watering hole, good drinks with lots of choices but too bad the Female bartender does not know how to say hello, check on the customer if they need anything else or thank you when gives the bill. Total turn off! For a minute I thought I was back in LA instead of Omaha! Their website promotes Service which obviously this bartender was not aware of.

Katie S.

Yelp
Service was excellent and the drinks were fabulous. Jeremy assisted us when selecting cocktails and nailed it every time!

Katrinka K.

Yelp
Lots of whiskeys, but they need a staff that knows what they are selling, and how their menu works. I ordered the digestif Green Chartruse. Off of the menu. I was told they don't have it. I ordered something else they'd didn't have it. Not a problem. The problem was when asked for a digestif, they say you want a shot of something. No. I want the 1.5 oz pour shaken over ice in a cordial glass. But being condescending about how a drink on your menu is worded and you telling me you don't understand the request. I think just a brush up on how drinks should be poured that are on the menu is a must in the service industry .

Madrid S.

Yelp
Amazing bourbon/scotch selection! Great drink specials! Great service. Awesome patio. Can't go wrong with this place. Check it out while in Omaha!

Madison D.

Yelp
I wish there were more stars to give honestly. This place was uhhmazing! Where do I start? We were served waters right away, fantastic drink recommendations from Kyle and frequent check ins to make sure we were doing great. The drinks were so yummy. This is the perfect place to come and relax while sipping on a drink. Ladies bring your mans if you're looking to impress him.

Kevin S.

Yelp
This is ,without doubt, the most pretentious, poorly staffed bar in Omaha. The only business they get is from the weddings next door.

Kim R.

Yelp
Came here for drinks with colleagues to celebrate and it was the perfect spot. Bartenders were super kind and helpful in suggesting cocktails. I went with the Blueberry Sour because it had kombucha in it and it did not disappoint. Several others opted for the Cherrywood which I had second - also delish. I can see this being my spot to bring friends and family from out of town. We'll be back!

Kyle O.

Yelp
Excellent selection of single malt scotch and whiskey. Bartender was friendly and had me try a few whiskey's. Hit the nail on the head with the first whiskey, Arron's Sauternes cask Single malt but went sideways after. The pricing was a little off put, can get quite expensive for what they're pouring. Will trial another attempt to see if it's worth a 5 star rating or if it sticks at 4. Also, didn't have but saw people across from us having the flatbread and it looked very appetizing!

Paige M.

Yelp
Our experience was phenomenal! They have an extensive supply of all varieties of alcoholic beverages. We opted for two house cocktails and were highly impressed. Our drinks were delicious. The service was so attentive and friendly and the vibe is great. Definitely recommend checking them out!

Cory S.

Yelp
Amazed I haven't left a review of this place. It's always been good... but now that Joel has a little time under his belt, the quality of the bourbon/whiskey he is getting is growing quickly. It's awesome. They get some really hard to find bourbons in and have been putting together flights lately that are priced crazy well! I've tried a bunch of different stuff here and always enjoy myself. Joel (owner) and his staff are knowledgeable and almost always make a great recommendation. They also sell some stuff at retail.. last time i was there they had an enormous bottle of Eagle Rare. this stuff is getting a little harder to find, so i snagged it since my bottle at home was low. I'll be back.. as long as I'm traveling to Omaha!

Burt R.

Yelp
This place will mess you up in a good way! Get the espresso martini if you don't want want to get murdered by the bar staff--who are great! This is a very "high-proof"bar

Kennedy M.

Yelp
okay um can you say FUN??? i definitely did not feel cool enough to be in this bar, but i had a really good time lol their selection of liquors is crazy and they have something for everyone! i tried a house cocktail called the proof cafe because i love coffee, and it was delicious. strong, but delicious. would love to try the other cocktails on the menu next time around. awesome prohibition-era theme too. it took me back in time!! can't wait to come again

Ken C.

Yelp
Proof is an awesome Cocktail & Whiskey Bar located in Midtown Crossing! Friendly, knowledgeable staff combined with a classy, yet relaxing atmosphere is what you expect at this bar! They got a great selection of whiskeys along with an impressive list of handcrafted cocktails! Some of my favorite drinks here are the Peachy Keen & the Summer Thyme! They were super delicious and instagramable! Proof is a great destination to share a couple drinks with friends / loved ones!

Tammy N.

Yelp
Found this place completely on accident, but I'm SO glad we did! We ran into Jeremy outside and we probably looked lost because he was kind enough to give us a lay of the land, including details on all of the surrounding restaurants and parks, since we had our dog with us. The patio has an amazing view and breeze from the park, and is dog friendly, much like the owner and pretty much everyone who works here, which is so great! They even brought our pup treats and ice water! The patio has tables and comfy outdoor couches to sit on--a great place to meet a friend for drinks and watch the sunset! We got an incredibly well-made old fashioned, and cherry oak rabbit hole, along with the bbq brisket sliders, and marguerita pizza, which were amazing. The inside has a great vibe and some super comfy looking couches. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back if ever in Omaha again!

Dan Z.

Yelp
Great whiskey selection. Informative and friendly bartenders. If you like whiskey, this is the place to go!

Jeff C.

Yelp
So if you are looking for a neighborhood bar, this might not be the place for you. The whiskey collection is amazing! The staff are EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the spirits. You can order anything in 1 or 2 oz pours. Oh and they also do mixed drinks for those who prefer their spirits that way.

Jai B.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere with a tasty selection of rotating seasonal cocktails. Second time I've been here and was a tasty as the first. The best place for fancy cocktails in midtown

Jim B.

Yelp
Excellent bar been in here multiple times with my wife. Great selection of spirits allowing you a chance to try different distilleries. Only suggestion is - offer a nice dessert selection or two to pair with a fine cocktail.

Kelsey B.

Yelp
Where do I even start with Proof? How can you formulate words into trying to describe this amazing establishment? It is WONDERFUL. First off, the decor - WOW, the decor. You walk in and are immediately blown away. I've been to Proof so many times and it still takes my breath away each time. The drinks - EXCELLENT. I was personally never a big bourbon fan for awhile, but Proof brought it out in me. They have an incredible selection (there are some with less than 100 bottles sold in the US...or something crazy like that) and you can find anything and everything you'd ever dream of there. My personal go-to at Proof is a "Smoked Old Fashioned" where they literally set a piece of cedar wood on fire, place the glass over the flame and let the glass infuse with the cedar smoke while they're shaking up the actual cocktail - INCREDIBLE. If you're not a bourbon fan, their cocktail menu is EXCELLENT. You truly can't go wrong. The food - I haven't had the food enough times to get into too much detail (as I usually end up drinking my dinner there...hehe), but it has been excellent so far. Most importantly, the staff - My goodness, I don't even know where to start. I've known Joel for many years and he is a truly top-notch business owner and overall wonderful human being. He makes a point to talk to EVERY customer and provide education on the business, the bourbon, and much more. The staff as a whole are just like him - they radiate positivity, knowledge, and are just very friendly people. You all are doing an incredible job and I can truly say that I genuinely enjoy coming into Proof for, yes, the drinks and the atmosphere, but mostly because of the staff! Keep up the great work!

Anthony L.

Yelp
What can I say. I started drinking old fashions and manhattans because of proof in midtown. They are so upscale and knowledgable. Really love this place

Ryan R.

Yelp
For all those whiskey lovers and aficionados our there this is your place! They have a really nice selection of whiskeys from your basics to your middle and top-shelf picks. Although this place has several whiskeys on hand, we ended up getting some picks off their cocktail menu. I had their espresso cocktail, it comes with a light 30% espresso liquor mix for that coffee bean flavor and added to it is whiskey of course. The bartender made this cocktail shaken over ice which was a nice touch and definitely added a refreshing aspect to the creamy nature of the coffee cocktail. Check this place out for not only their wide selection of whiskeys but their cocktails as well!

Kurt S.

Yelp
My brother in law and I went to Proof a few weeks ago and it was a great experience. Proof, formerly the beloved Grane, has been open for a few months and it appears to be doing an amazing job. It's a whiskey bar so the prices are a tad higher than normal, and that's okay for a place like this. You can see all of the gorgeous bottles of hard liquor on the wall behind the bar. A very cool sight. Their craft cocktails are awesome as well. You can tell that the bartenders know what they are doing. The only con to this place is that they appear to have dropped all food from their menu. Not sure if I just didn't see it but it would be nice to have something to eat while downing their amazing alcohol. One of the co-owners, who has two huge German Shepherds at home, is awesome too. He walks around and chats with people like they are his friends and isn't afraid to do so. I believe he was a manager at Grane and then he purchased it and re-branded it as Proof with another individual. I'm glad because with him at the helm, it seems that Proof is destined to succeed. Overall, I love this place. It has everything I would want in a cool, lax whiskey bar. Can't wait to go back for another round.

Pam S.

Yelp
Came back here for the tasty drink selections! We sat on the outdoor patio & listened to some jazz on the green while drinking something flavorful! Not sure the name of my drink, but it tasted great & I'll have to go back to try a few more! 3 bartenders were working hard for the busy crowd on an early Saturday evening! We never had any problem ordering our drinks & everyone was very friendly & happy to be there.

Ed M.

Yelp
GRANE is reborn as PROOF. The dispensers are gone, more seating has been added, and the whisk(e)y selection has expanded. Instead of focusing on high end, expensive drinks, the majority of the options are in the five to twenty dollar range. Aside from many whisk(e)ys, they have cocktails, gin, rum, tequilas, cordials, beer, etc, so you can bring your friends even if you're the only whisk(e)y connoisseur in the group. The menu has everything listed as 2oz pours, but they do have 1oz pours! Don't be afraid to try a number of things. No snacks at this point, but rumor has it something simple is in planning. There's no physical kitchen in the back so it won't be anything crazy. Cheers ya'll!

Meg T.

Yelp
A knowledgeable and friendly wait staff with plenty of liquor options. Love the bottles for sale along the wall and the diversity of seating options (from high tops to booths to bar). Tried the Manhattan this evening and wasn't overly impressed. There seemed to lack complexity, but what was lacking in that arena was quickly forgotten by the buzz due to the strength. They pour them strong, which is not surprising considering Proof is a whiskey bar. In the past I have thoroughly enjoyed the Proof Penicillin cocktail. It's definitely a rich dessert drink, but was a fulfilling way to end the evening.

LD D.

Yelp
Really great selection of whiskey with an environment that supports it. Bartender extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Really enjoyed the music and laid back vibe

Michael C.

Yelp
Proof has my favorite cocktails in Omaha. Other places come close, but the combo of Proof's selection and staff expertise make it stand out above the rest. Jeremy is the most knowledgeable and skilled bartender I've encountered. If you can't find anything on the cocktail menu that strikes your fancy, just tell Jeremy which liquors your prefer and what flavors you like and he will make you your new favorite cocktail. That's how I came to love a Black Manhattan.

Lauren C.

Yelp
We stopped in for a few after dinner cocktails and the bartender was great! He gave us some awesome recommendations, great humor, and even had the chef make a few custom stuffed olives for my martini! Great customer service! Very excited to visit their soon-to-be second location out in west omaha soon!

Austin H.

Yelp
Alright, this is the whiskey bar of whiskey bars. Jacque was the most incredible bartender I've ever had. According to her, the bar's whiskey selection is currently running a little low, but I still had the opportunity to try two flights of five bourbons each that I had never tried before. And then she proceeds to recommend the most incredible single malt I've ever had in my life. Overall, I'd rate this even higher than 5 stars if I could, and it's all thanks to Jacque the bartender. Whoever hired her is a genius. This girl is so passionate, it made my experience 10x better than it would've been without her. I'll definitely be returning, and I'll definitely be returning with friends. I could not recommend this place enough.

Giuseppe G.

Yelp
If you love bourbon...you must go to this place when you're close by. They sell many retail prices bottles as well. Knowledgeable staff, good prices and solid service.

Katelyn E.

Yelp
My husband and I snuck away for a date night last night and came to Proof for a before-dinner drink at The Grey Plume across Turner Park. We sat in the table/lounge area tucked just off the bar and spent a good 10 minutes talking about how we'd write a Yelp review. here's what we came up with... pros: - great whiskey drinks. I ordered the Classic Manhattan and my husband had the Sazerac... both were fantastic. Super smooth and perfectly made. - while we both drank whiskey, they had other delicious looking drinks made with vodka and gin. - the wait staff was really knowledgeable about the drinks and types of whiskey sold. - $10/drink - we didn't try the food, but were super interested in some of the items including philly sliders, pumpkin dip and cheesecake (will definitely be back to try those!) - we liked the concept they were striving for (I.e. prohibition-style environment) but... Cons: - the atmosphere felt almost chain-like. (It may have been the rack of whiskey and drinks you could purchase to bring home. It gave off the feeling of a convenience store.) - the lights were pretty bright for the overall ambiance. It was freezing cold when we went, but the outdoor patio looked great... it'd be a fun spot to get a drink at during the summer. Overall, a great place... I wonder if it would do even better if it wasn't in MC. :/

Brent S.

Yelp
During Proofs Thanksgiving Eve event, they served $5 old fashions and wine glasses which we enjoyed. They also served free food - not your typical "free food" menu but beef brisket sliders, meatballs, veggie platters, etc. Proof comes highly recommended by myself because they went above and beyond to serve us and ensure there was always food ready for the massive crowd that came to this event.

Sondra Z.

Yelp
So disappointed! Whiskey is my go-to drink so we were looking forward to checking this place out. My default drink is the Old Fashioned. Every place puts their own spin on it so we've had quite a variety over the years. But not until Proof did we struggle to even finish the drink. If it's the first thing on your menu it shouldn't be the worst Old Fashioned I've ever had.

Mike S.

Yelp
I honestly wish I could give zero stars. We hadn't even placed our order before we encountered the rudest server. Mitchell, I believe his name was, presented to the table, disheveled in appearance, and proceeded to harass a member of our group as we were ordering. It seemed like a joke at first, but it continued and progressed until all of us were uncomfortable. We left without finishing our order and will not be returning. The bathroom was clean though.

Eric J.

Yelp
Proof is an awesome craft cocktail stop in midtown crossing. The cozy, upscale, atmosphere is right to relax and enjoy a creative cocktail with friends. Nice drink menu - most in 10-12 range. The "applewood" is a smoky sensory experience. Barkeeps really make customers feel special with custom options and off menu , experimental, drinks. If you don't know what to order, you can trust the "surprise me" order option. Lots of nooks with comfortable soft seating. Good for small groups. If you're up for a cocktail hour, Proof will impress.
