Proper - A Burger Spot

My total for burger, fries and a canned soda was $27 in total after taxes. Burger was good. Nothing special about the fries, just generic fries. They don’t come with the burger and they charge $6 for them. I was expecting something more spending almost $30 on a burger meal. Cost vs reward just didn’t add up. Service was great, nice people working there.

First time customer: Today I tried the Philly Cheese Steak Burger. Dude! It hit the spot fasho! It was a single burger patty with the cheesesteak, onions and peppers, cheese on top of a buttery sizzled bun. (in my case) Paired with a cold beer from the bar near by; man, it was way better than I thought it'd be. About 30 min later, I ordered a second burger to go! I'll definitely be back for another or to try something else! ***(This place is inside of a "food court" type area; not a dine-in experience. My exp. was during a Monday lunch hour 12:00-13:00ish)***

Comfortable food that is elevated and you will not be disappointed. Everything was packed with such flavor that my taste buds were doing a little dance. My favorite was the fry chicken Sammy and bacon blue cheese burger. And the atmosphere was so chilled a nice spot in downtown.

We had the Proper and Frenchy burgers with fries over lunch. They were great. The waters were pricey.

Delicious burgers and fries! We tried the: 🍔MUSHROOM SWISS: crispy shiitake mushrooms, Swiss, carmelized onions, baby arugula 🍔BACON BLUE CHEESE BURGER: bacon, blue cheese, Al bone marrow jam, romaine 🍟PROPER FRIES caramelized onions, cheese, proper sauce Finn Hall offers a handful of restaurants so it’s great for a group hankering different things. There is also a full bar, where we grabbed a few drinks. Although they are open until 11 Thursday-Saturday, I see this as more of a lunch spot! Be sure to check the hours before going. We parked in a nearby garage. Took off one star for atmosphere only because it’s a food hall, so it’s very casual/lots of people are moving about. Just know what to expect in that regard.

Absolutely phenomenal lunch spot! Best smash burgers we have ever had, and the sauces are fantastic. Definitely recommend to anyone working/staying in the downtown area

Sam was very nice and Tony and JP was we had a tremendous time the environment was was very friendly, outgoing, outstanding any questions I needed to answer. Definitely will be back again.

30.00 bucks for bacon cheese burger , queso fries and a drink is a bit much. I could go to pappas burger for this price or less. Definitely was good. Made to perfection. I like the crispy fried and queso but 8.00 for that is a bit much. Overall im giving 5 stars because of the great customer service and the good was real good. They need a combo price bc 30.00 is wild for burger fries with cheese and a drink.

Why 3 stars? Because it was pretty much a basic burger. --- --- --- We recently discovered Proper from some "Top Burgers in Houston" list and I ended up bookmarking it. A week or two later, we were in Houston and about to head back home, when I opted to see what bookmarks I had around me. Proper turned out to only be a few minutes away, so despite not being too hungry, my wife and I decided to just split a burger. To be honest, I haven't had McDonald's or really any fast food burger in 15 or so years, but after taking a few bites of this one, I felt like it reminded me very much of the golden arches. Don't get me wrong, it was perfectly fine. But considering that there is a Shake Shack right next door, I would probably just opt to go there next time, if I were in the area. I know it's always possible I just caught them on a weird day, but based on our visit, I'm kind of surprised it made a top list in Houston.

Overall a really great burger spot Located in Finn Hall! I got the truffle burger and it was delicious! It can get really busy around lunch so if you're in a time crunch, this may not be the best spot. They give you a buzzer and you'll pick it up your order when the buzzer starts buzzin'! I really loved the onion rings as well! Overall, definitely one of the best truffle burgers I've had in a long time!

Very disappointed with the food and the service. The fries were not cooked. Burger was very salty. Not going again.

Burgers were super salty, un edible. The guy said he didn't have many ingredients and told us he could only do meat and cheese burgers and charges us $40 and it was on an Astro's game night when they had a $10 special super disappointing.

This is everything a burger should be. Exactly what I imagine when I think of the best burger possible. All of that topped with friendly staff and a social environment in Finn hall.

Chicken sandwhich was mouth watering good. Not too spicy at all, sweet, juicy, everything you want in a chicken sandwhich. Im full, but the flavor alone makes me want to eat another. I like how simple the menu is at this place. Can't wait to try the burger.
