Beautiful space! The only downside was that we waited 1 HOUR to get tabled and then 30 minutes to get our waitress to finally take our order. We then had to wait for another waiter to cover our table. Rose Milk Tea was amazing but the food was okay. One of our orders delayed and it was finally served. However, it was cold even though it was suppose to be hot. I assume the workers forgot to give it to us once it was done. Overall, amazing drinks and space but the staff was very unorganized.

I recently visited this restaurant, and while the atmosphere is undeniably beautiful, my overall experience left much to be desired. The music was too loud, which made it difficult to enjoy the ambiance fully. As for the food, it was disappointing. The boom boom shrimp lacked flavor and quality, and the eggs were far too salty. These issues made it hard to appreciate the meal. On top of that, our waiter, Cole, seemed forgetful, which added to the frustration. While mistakes happen, attentiveness is key to a good dining experience, and this visit fell short. I hope management takes these points into consideration, as the atmosphere holds so much potential if matched with better food and service.

Google
Ahhh the best tea spot!! Cutest atmosphere, kindest service (thanks Travis!!) and the most delicious delicacies on the menu. The lavender tea was to die for. We also ordered the cucumber cheese sandwiches (yum!) and the Thai tea French toast (to die for). The floor was gleaming, the area was very clean. 10/10 recommend - can’t wait to return!

Google
This is a definite recommendation for me! The food was so delicious and was fresh! We had a party of 3 and ordered: •Proper Rose Garden Set- we chose the Rose Milk tea, California Club sandwich and the Tiramisu slice of cake. •A House Egg salad sandwich •A hot coffee •Dragonyaki with the vanilla custard •1 Strawberry Croffle The set: Sandwich was savory, the tomatoes were fresh and the avocados were creamy and a perfect green. The tiramisu was a great balance on the layers. The cocoa was not bitter whatsoever and the coffee used to soak the lady fingers was smooth. The Rose tea also had a great balance of flavors. We were worried about the rose flavor being overpowering but it was not. Very delicious. The egg salad was very creamy with a bit of texture due to crispy egg pieces that were incorporated. The arugula on the side was a good touch to add into the sandwich. The Dragonyaki was a bit thick due to the shape, however it was delicious and not so sweet. The vanilla custard ice cream was icy and creamy, great combination with the dragon 😌 came with a chocolate pocky. The strawberry croffle is to die for!! I definitely want to try it with the other toppings available. The cream was very refreshing and not super sweet. Seems like it could be made by hand which I love! However this by far was my favorite due to the different textures and flavors. Overall we had a great time coming and it was our first visit. We signed up for their rewards because this will be our go to spot now for me and my daughter 💕 the team was very attentive and patient. They have fast turnaround as well for the food so nothing was cold coming out that didn’t have to be.

My boyfriend took me here for Valentine’s Day, and I’m so grateful for for it! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who extensively talked to us about menu items and thoughtfully suggested teas and desserts he thought were suited to our tastes! The tea pot was so cute, I thought it was absolutely adorable that each table had their own unique set. We got the rose milk tea at 75%, cucumber sandwiches, vanilla crepe cake, and loved ALL of it. The scones were warm and lovely, the heart macaroons were so yummy, and the staff were attentive and kind (thank you, Jeff!). The decorations were so cute, a perfect photo op location as well. My boyfriend and I are most definitely committed regulars now!! As a side note, ignore these one star reviews, this tea place definitely deserves the business!

Google
New teahouse for tea lovers. They have good selection of teas, and the quick bites are matching well with the drink. Each group is limited to 2hr seatings. The teas are served in a fancy-looking pot, but the pottery is not of high quality. The French toast goes very well with the teas. Parmesan fries are good. Fried chicken sandwich is good too.

Google
We went here with our friends here and it was a very good experience. Loved the rose milk tea and lavender tea. Cucumber sandwiches were very good !tried popcorn chicken , it was okay. Fries are tasty but somehow not so hot.vegetable momos are good too. Sauces are really tasty . Tried peach oolong tea was very very refreshing . Must try with friends very very good satisfied with the food. Definitely try it out .

Google
The place is beautiful, the teas are really good and the staff is really nice (Dylan, our server, was the best), but the service is not good. We were a party of 8 and they brought us our plates with an interval of 5 to 10 minutes between plates. We are Latin and we don’t start eating until everyone has the food served, so we had to wait until all the plates were brought to start eating. For me, bathrooms are really important and reflect the cleanliness of the place and the bathrooms here are not nice at all. I’m sure that you can work these things out so to make it a 5 stars place.

Yelp
We have been enjoying their Holiday Vibes for three years now! Such a great place to celebrate special events and meet up with friends!

Yelp
I've sat for lunch and am also fond of delivery because quality never changes. Weather whiplash is upon us all and work never ceases, so comfort food is a must. The smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich is my go to because it's smoky, savory, and peace incarnate in every bite. The hot lavender milk tea is another favorite because it's the perfect balance of sweet and floral without tasting like soap or perfume.

Yelp
Food - weird for a "Tea House" all the food was fried like a sports grill? and it wasn't tasty, just fried! Service - Waiter seemed new, we had to remind them to bring everything; sugar for tea, iced water, dressing for salad, silverware? Also, we ordered multiple appetizers and they painfully came out like 10 - 15 mins apart...my salad came out at the end of the meal, I thought they had forgotten it and as to not prolong my time there I was going to have them take it off the bill. I just got it to go. The tea was the only good thing.... Ambiance - Cheap dollar store flowers and ballons, filthy upholstered chairs which I did not want to touch. The bathroom door was so dirty...why wouldn't someone wipe it down or repaint. Cheap...cheap...cheap. Worst "tea room" I have ever been to. I checked website before getting dressed to confirm what the dress code was because "normally" a Tea room is elegant, not a kid filled , cheap decor dirty hot mess place. The staff was not even dressed professional, manager came to work in flip flops and t-shirt material short set, waitresses in worn jeans and t-shirts????? Comical! really. Houston you have to do better.

Yelp
update: thank you Michael for responding to the feedback and addressing. Adding one star back to the review as my feedback was quickly addressed the same day. --------- Charging a gratuity service of 18% for 3 people is absurd when after they dropped off our food, we couldn't find anyone to refill our water. We were so thirsty! No one came to our table to ask if we needed anything or to refill water. The ambiance was cute but it was a bit loud since there were a lot of people in a small space. This place is definitely felt tight. Too small of space with a bunch of seating crammed. You can't get into your seat without having to push the table around if you're seated in a booth. Probably wouldn't be coming back here again. Also, this place isn't baby friendly ~ there is not a changing station in the bathroom and no where to place strollers. The food was ok - the fries, popcorn chicken and potstickers. Fries and Popcorn chicken flavor was good but the fries were soggy & the popcorn chicken was more batter than chicken?? but it tasted good. Potstickers, i've had better. I think the bowl they put it in made it soggy and hard to get out - maybe put it on a plate instead? The tea was probably the best things we ordered .. we got hot rose milk tea and then iced Crème Brûlée milk ... both teas were really good.. would get the teas again.

Yelp
I think this is one of the worst service we've ever had, I'm glad they're closing. We had to ask for plates and forks three times before we received it. Only got checked on once and that was only when we received one item that we ordered, after that we never got checked on. The ambiance is okay but was not really worth the hype. The food is not as good as expected. We ordered the thai tea french toast, it tasted very milky and heavy, barely any thai tea flavor. We also ordered the chicken katsu sando and the bread was ripping off from too much sauce. The only thing we might have enjoyed was the almond milk.

Yelp
We'll miss you Proper Rose Garden Especially the Chicken Katsu sandwich I dream about that sandwich at least once every two weeks

Yelp
Proper rose garden is a cute little spot serving tea, desserts, and small bites. I liked the blue cushioned seats and the many chandeliers. Service was great as well, and our food came out quickly. We ordered: - Proper rose garden set (choice of teapot, sandwich, and cake slice) - honeydew milk tea, smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich, and lemon berry mascarpone cake - Fish taco - Boom boom shrimp taco - Popcorn chicken (spicy) - Shibuya honey toast - Peanut butter french toast - Lovely rosita I enjoyed the drinks we got. The honeydew milk tea was on the sweeter side and tasted exactly like honeydew. The food was better than I expected. The popcorn chicken was crispy, juicy, and pretty spicy! The shrimp taco was filled with so much shrimp and very flavorful. The peanut butter french toast and Shibuya honey toast were delicious as well. Everything else was ok.

Yelp
Very cute tea spot! Service was good too! We ordered the potted series hot rose milk tea (I checked in from Yelp and got a free tea pot offer) We ordered waffle with cream, vanilla ice cream, strawberries, and bananas topped with Nutella sauce. Very delicious! And the rose milk tea was fragrant and tasty! It had a cute little fire lit under (the tea pot) to keep it hot. 10/10

Yelp
We had to come by before they close their doors in a few days. We arrived right after they opened, and the place was 80% full. The staff was handling everything efficiently. The chairs were a little dirty, but the food was good. Somehow, there was barely enough water glasses for every chair. The Popcorn Chicken (slightly spicy flavor) has always been my favorite as it's seasoned well. Some may think it's overcooked, but I like the chewiness and crunchiness of this version. The Potted lavender milk tea had a good temperature, which was warm enough to drink but not hot enough to burn your tongue. The lavender milk tea could only reduce to 50% sugar. While the color was more milky than I expected, the flavor and sweetness came through well. The Santa Fe Eggrolls (3pc) were okay. I expected them to taste like Chili's Southwest Eggrolls, but they were seasoned a little differently. The California Club Sandwich was pretty tasty. I wanted the bacon to be a little crunchier, and the cheese to give more flavor to the sandwich. The House Egg Salad Sandwich came with a side of arugula (no dressing). The fried garlic chips make it unique. I'm happy our last visit was just as good as our previous visits. It's been a fun place to eat and drink throughout the years.

Yelp
This place is perfect for tea and desserts. They have food too but the milk teas and dessert where the best! Super cute place too. I loved the milk tea pots: matcha and Lavender. On sugar level matcha do at least 100% and for lavender 50-70%. Not sure why our lavender was not as purple as seen online, but still very good. The milk tea cake is as delicious as it looks. For the toast I recommend letting is soak in the ice cream then eat....YUM! I will be back for just tea and dessert.

Yelp
Great tea (you can change the sugar level ) we had honey dew and the rose. The dragonyaki was cute. The kids liked it. The Thai toast was good but didn't taste like Thai tea. The tea snack tower I don't recommend. It's like generic store bought pastries. Order a la carte is better. Service is good. Price is good. Cute place.

Yelp
Unbelievable experience and the worst service we've ever had! We chose this place for afternoon tea to gather with friends--a group of 10--and it turned out to be a huge mistake. When we arrived, the staff directed us to a table that was clearly set for five people. We tried to make it work by adding a few chairs, but the manager (who seemed to be in charge) stormed over with a sour expression and told us, quite bluntly, that the table could ONLY seat five people. At that moment, another table for five had just opened up, so we asked if we could use it. Without even trying to be polite, the manager snapped that it was reserved. He offered no alternatives, no explanation, and made zero effort to help us. His dismissive, impatient attitude was beyond unprofessional. If this restaurant can't accommodate larger groups, they should be upfront about it. Instead, we were left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. We walked out immediately, and I can confidently say we will never return. Management like this ruins the experience entirely.

Yelp
Ok snacks. Service could be better. Water was never refilled took a while to be noticed and I had to get my own menu and had to ask if I could order. There were a few other customers dining in and I was hoping to get fast takeout originally. Since it took so long I decided to sit down. I'll try a different tea shop next time. Service could be improved. It was my first time and decided to stop by after seeing decent reviews on here. I guess at 7pm they were getting ready to go and didn't really want more customers coming in and slowing down their process? Maybe if it's earlier during the day service may be better. I'll stop by other tea spots that have snacks prepped quicker and with a smile on their face. I was told they would be closing soon around 7pm ish. Guess that's why they didn't want to give me a menu. Won't be back.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance. Delicious food. Friendly service. This little tea place really has it all. Are you like me and you love the concept of high tea but find British food sorta gross? This Asian fusion high tea is PERFECT. The food is actually so good, they have every type of tea you can dream up, and everything is just so cute. Pretty quiet on weekdays too, I got a table right away. Perfect for date nights or even bridal showers. Rare combo of being insta worthy but the food is actually so tasty too.
google avatar

Yelp
Came for the first time for a nice tea afternoon and was very disappointed. Inside is cute from the surface but the chairs and tables are grungy and dirty which is off putting. When I received my tiered tea stand I was not given clotted cream and jam for the scones. When I asked for it, they looked at me odd but then scrounged a metal container of cream and then 2 prepackaged grape jams. Really! Any good afternoon tea, these are standard and part of the tea. The final kicker was the bill, they dont take cash but charge you a surcharge for credit card usage and then I was charged $4 for the sad cream and jam. First and last time. Much better tea houses closer to downtown Houston and worth the drive.
google avatar

Yelp
In Houston with friends and we always try to find Tea spots. We had a lovely afternoon at Proper Rose Garden. Not only did we have some delicious tea but also good food and mimosas. The place has nice decor and quaint tableware. We ordered the Proper Rose Garden Set which had assorted pastries and then you select what you want for the rest. For the teapot we chose the Honey Jasmine Green Tea, liked by all. Sandwich- we chose the House Egg Salad Sandwich which was my favorite of everything. For cake we had the Lemon Berry Mascarpone which is delicious. There were four of us so we shared and added food from there. The popcorn chicken and dumplings were popular with us. The Mimosa Flights were a hit, first time I've seen a presentation like it- so fun. We choose the pineapple, watermelon , lavender, blueberry, and original. We weren't sure if we would like the lavender but it ended up being our fave. Lots of cool photo ops with the cute decor. Service is good, our server was helpful and efficient but not as friendly as could be but the staff in general were nice. Good selection of hot and iced teas. We had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday.
google avatar

ChrisandMichelle L.

Yelp
I took my granddaughters here and we did have a nice time. The decor was nice and as expected for a tea house. The service was slow and not knowledgeable about the food or tea. If they carried a better selection of tea service food it would be a much better visit. Much of the food seemed out of place and too pricey for what you get. Although I enjoyed it since I was with grandchildren, I will go to a different tea house next time.

Yelp
We ordered calamari which was $15 and the Tower was $60 included different pastries, tea, and a slice of cake. Personally, i dont think it was worth $60. Although the tea was good, the rest of the tower was lackluster. The egg sandwich had egg shells . The selection on the tower of pastries seemed to have been procured from costco (such as the macaron and the madeleines). The calamari was overcooked. The service was also quite slow and we had to wait 30 mins for our food. Also, their restroom needs work as far as sanitation. Both restrooms were pretty dirty with wet floors The chairs had stains and the floors definitely need sweeping. We expected highly of this place considering the ads we kept seeing and kinda felt bamboozled by the experience
google avatar

Nickey ..

Yelp
This food was disgusting. I don't think the popcorn chicken was even chicken. The wings were horrible. The only edible item that I had were the sweet potato fries.
google avatar

Britney L.

Yelp
Had high expectations for this place but was kind of disappointed when I walked in. It just feels like all the decorations were slapped on the walls and ceilings. Our server was a little passive aggressive to us and was impatient when we couldn't figure out what to order. We initially wanted the tea set so we could take pictures with the tower. It comes with choice of sandwich, regular cake slice (no other dessert can be sub), and choice of tea along with an assortment of pastries. We asked if there was a way to get the tower by itself without all that comes with it because we wanted to choose our own dishes to eat since the options didn't seem worth it for $60. But they said you can't get the tower unless you order the tea set so we just opted for getting the items we wanted along with a teapot. The food was decent. I liked the popcorn chicken and thai french toast. The sandwiches weren't anything special. Taro milk was pretty standard. My favorite were the cajun wings. I already expected the food not to be the best but I came mainly for the aesthetics and pictures and left quite disappointed. I personally wouldn't come back.
google avatar

Eman S.

Yelp
Why aren't more people talking about the holiday aesthetic here?!? I was dazzled when I walked in. On a regular day, the place is gorgeous and perfect for tea. The sampler is close to $60, and that was a tad high for me, but not out of the ordinary as far as price structure goes for afternoon tea in the US. ***yelp check in offer is for a free pot of tea*** Thank you yelp! We ordered the lavender milk tea but I've also tried the rose and love both. 70% sweetness level is more than enough. The cucumber sandwiches were delicious and aesthetically 'tea time.' The fries were crispy and flavorful. The egg salad sandwich was honestly a let down. I had it last year and it was tastier. I asked them to make it pretty, and as you can see, it was not pretty.

Yelp
Had a great time catching up with my best friend at Proper Rose. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the food but here are the items I got to try: Matcha Cake - overall okay, I wasn't blown away but it also enjoyed it. I don't eat very fast so the cake was kind of collapsing and we were chatting. She had a chocolate cake that I didn't try but we both agreed they were just okay. Fish Sauce Spicy Wings: they warned me they are very pungent and they were lying haha. Luckily I cook with fish sauce a lot and was prepared. It was definitely worth the smell though. I enjoyed the wings a lot and they were pretty big! Very flavorful, definitely spicy and messy but great for me Matcha Milk: the matcha was god, but I wish it was more flavorful, like the cake. Lavender Milk: SO GOOD. I was surprised how much I liked it, we ordered a second. Very floral but not overpowering at all. The restaurant was small and cute and the staff was extremely attentive, friendly and nice. I would definitely recommend this place for a small group or hang with a friend!
google avatar

PJ M.

Yelp
Been here a couple times. A bit pricey but still a fun experience to have an "authentic feeling" tea drinking experience. Relaxed date spot, and I saw a couple folks with their kids here. Enjoyed pretty much everything we ordered: * lavender milk tea * taro milk tea * katsu sandwich * thai tea french toast (my favorite! but pretty much dessert) The only thing I'd skip ordering again is the egg sandwich. Wasn't bad, but for the price, it's not something I'd go out of my way to order here. Service was pretty good and parking is convenient in the area.

Yelp
fast service and calm ambiance. i got the taiyaki with matcha cream, and i couldn't finish it with how full it had me lol

Yelp
I finallyyyyyyy after two years tried this place AND I LOVED IT!!!!!! We came on a weekday in the afternoon. One person was working as the front and as the waiter. He was cool no complaints . The ambiance is sooooooooooooooo cute! The music was surprisingly good too I had a little concert in my seat Okay so food and drinks We had the taro tea 10/10 I didn't realize how much tea was in the tea pot and I loved the small candle that kept it warm so smart Milo tea 10/10 I'm surprised they had milo I'm Nigerian and this is like an everyday breakfast drink so when my husband saw it he was like milooooi I'll get that lol Food The popular honey bread DELICIOUS!!!! 10/10 Calamari was a bit hard my husband didn't like 6/10 Fried Oreos my husband didn't like as much either I didn't try them so I can't rate But yeah we will be back!

Yelp
Fragrant teas and delicious finger foods, they really make a proper tea. The ability to adjust sugar level I do love the attention to detail. The smoke salmon sandwich is a taste of New York. The donkatsu sandwich is hot and delicious. The honeydew tea is a new item I have never tried before. It did not disappoint. I chose 50% sugar. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the afternoon
google avatar

Juliana C.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was packed! I highly suggest making reservations. My friend and I opted for the Proper Rose Garden Set with the lavender milk and pork tonkotsu sandwich. The lavender milk and tonkotsu sandwich was delicious. In my opinion the pastries was a little too sweet for me.
google avatar

Bhumi R.

Yelp
It's a cute place to hang out with your girlfriends. Since, I checked in on yelp, we got a free pot of tea! Rose tea was really good! I liked how you can customize the amount of sweetness in the tea. I ordered salmon and cream cheese sandwich which surprisingly took longer to come in comparison to other orders. Overall, I liked the place.
google avatar

Serena S.

Yelp
This place is definitely a cute girly experience. We ordered the egg salad sandwich and pork tonkatsu sandwich which were both so yummy! I love katsu sandwiches and this one definitely met expectations. The vanilla milk crepe cake had a unique aftertaste to it that I couldn't quite put my finger on, but nonetheless, I loved it. We ordered the proper rose garden set which also came with assorted pastries and peach and melon tea. Scones are usually hard, which I do not like. I was pleasantly surprised that the scones on this set were doughy and warm. Not what a scone is, but I preferred it this way! The reason I am not giving our experience a full 5 stars is because we had asked to sit at a different table but were told it's only for a bigger group. 15 minutes later, a group the same size as ours came in and sat right at the table we wanted. Kind of not cool, but as an apology, we were given 10% off of our meal. Also, the bathrooms were really dirty and slippery.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Unique selection, great service and fun atmosphere! Ordered the honeydew milk tea and it was yummy! Was a melona bar in liquid form! The tonkatsu sandwich was my fav! The fried tofu, fish & chips, grape croffle and smoked salmon sandwich were also delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
First time here, I did an online search for the list of tea parties in Houston. The food and tea was a 10, but the service was a 5 out of 10. The reason why I say that, after I was seated it took 12 minutes to be acknowledged by the waiter and get water. It took 15 minutes to get an egg sandwich. I received in about 5 minutes the heated potted rose tea. Today is Saturday, and I went around 11:55am. I will definitely be back with the girls but it will be when they first open! Oh, and the last thing the ambience was beautiful!

Yelp
We celebrated my mom's birthday here and it was so nice. The food was delicious and the tea was too! A great time was had by some ladies! All in all - very cutesy, very demure.
google avatar

Jasmine O.

Yelp
Loveeee this place! The owner Micheal was very responsive to email and accommodated me for my birthday celebration. The vibe was high tea society and the food was great!
google avatar

Saroasha E.

Yelp
The food and service were good however the platter should have some more savory items instead of two tiers full of sweets. Tried their raspberry pomegranate tea which was good. The salmon and cream cheese sandwich was delicious. The blueberry lemon cake was great. The egg rolls were interesting. Nice cute place.
google avatar

Matthew C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the Thai Tea French Toast! A very unique and tasty dessert item combining two of my favorite foods. It is very beautifully decorated in here, and I will be back to try the British Tea, Boba and other desserts!

Yelp
I missed having tea time before and been wanting to come to this place for a while now. Our waitress was nice, the concept was cute, and the interior design was pretty cute, but the service was slow (40 minute wait for food) and then my group witnessed our food set being given to another table, taken away from that table, and brought back out to be given to our table. Food was alright and display was cute. Popcorn corn chicken was pretty good but the pieces were like the very small fried bits at the end of the tray. Katsu chicken sandwich was dry and hard to bite. Overall, the experience was not as pleasant as I hoped it would be sadly.

Yelp
We stumbled across Proper Rose Garden while browsing the area on Google maps and I'm so glad we found it! This place can best be described by British Afternoon Tea with an Asian Twist! Not only is the place really cute but the food and tea are scrumptious! We came on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation since we had just found it and only had to wait a few minutes. Looking around you could see a lot of people celebrating birthdays and they were dressed for the occasion, fascinators, floppy hats, and all! We were just casual but definitely weren't the only ones. There were also families there just having a nice tea experience with kids. We got the Pork Tonkatsu Sandwich, Matcha Crepe Cake, and a pot of Oolong tea (ps check in for a possible Check In offer ). The tea came out first and I loved how they had cute tea pots with warmers and matching tea cups for each table. The tea itself was lovely and perfect for a cold day like the one we went on. The Tonkatsu Sandwich was also amazing and perfect for a snack to share between two people as it was basically a full sized sandwich cut into 4 finger sandwiches (so if you're hungry and in a group you can definitely get a few and try them all, British tea style!). The crepe cake was the star of the show and was absolute perfection! It was light, flavorful, and a perfect sweet note to end on! So happy we found this place!

Yelp
Beautiful place to meet with girlfriends for light bites and teas. Definately make reservations for a weekend or an important celebration. Our waiter gave excellent options of items to try. EveTy thing tasted great. We order the 3 plate tower. I would suggest swapping out for 2 sandwiches then one plate of desserts with the cake slice. We ordered rose milk hot tea, amazing flavor. Egg salad sandwich, great flavor. The lemon blueberry cake was to die for delicious. I will definitely recommend and go back.

Yelp
I want to like this place soooooo badly. I've been here 3 separate times between its initial opening until a month ago, and I feel like it gets a bit worse each time I go. Firstly, the tea, sweets, and atmosphere are so nice. I've never been disappointed by any of the tea, and enjoy the novelty of the cute teapots, teacups, and tea petals. The pastries and cakes are always very good especially paired with the tea. I like how the place is decorated as well. It does get a little loud, but its a smaller space so thats just bound to happen. My advice for coming here though? Don't come hungry. If you want genuine food or finger food, you most likely will be disappointed. The food menu is somewhat limited, but sure, it's a tea place so that's to be expected. It'd help if the selection of the things that are actually good wasn't so small though. I've ordered the tonkatsu sandwich each time I've come and the quality just goes down each time. Last time I had it, it was bone dry, and had a weird taste to it. The Parmesan garlic fries are nothing too crazy, and the worst part was the egg and bacon taco I got honestly. I ordered one (1) at the start of the meal, and it didnt come out until the end. I take a look at it , and its unseasoned eggs with microwaved bacon. What is going on. Thankfully the waitress took it off of the bill without me asking bc I was already done with my meal. The potstickers are good, but I feel like it's hard to mess those up and I'm not sure if those are made in house or not. TLDR, don't expect your food experience to be good here, and come for the sweets and atmosphere if anything. You can probably book a better tea experience at a different place for a better price, but it's nice that it's in the area.

Yelp
The tea and dessert (Shibuya Toast) we got was really good! Unfortunately the customer service killed our vibe, it semeed like they were lacking management. Our server would disappear for 30mins at a time and it was hard getting ahold of our check to pay because it took so long. The employees seemed cold, unwelcoming and unfriendly. Not disrespectful but just a little mean which made us sad because we'd heard such good things about this place. There was one server who stood out, he was friendly and polite, he brought our check to us after our server disappeared again as we were waiting to pay and leave for a long time. He was wearing converse and he redeemed the experience a bit. Overall, probably wouldn't return especially at the price point, I feel like there are better options around with nicer employees but still worth the new experience.

Yelp
I enjoyed the service, food and fancy vibe! :) I got to come here for the first time and had a beautiful time! I enjoyed three different kinds of delicious tea and many yummy foods (sandwiches, crispy tofu, garlic cheesy fries, shibuya bread and any more goodies)! Great place to get together with friends and family! It's a gem spot in the katy! I'll be back with my friends again! Cheers

Yelp
A big obsession for me has been having an afternoon tea similar to the way I had it in England. It's been quite a while since I've found a good one, but I was able to get one at Proper Rose Garden in Katy, Texas. First of all, this place was nicely decorated and had a pretty good selection. It is more of an Asian tea and small bites place, but hidden in the pages of its impressive menu, we found a Proper Rose Garden Tea Set. I have to talk about this menu item for a bit because it was truly impressive, starting with its not so cheap price. At $59.95 dollars for shared tea, this was difficult to justify for two people. So price wise, it was totally up there. I think it would have been perfect for, maybe, three or four people, but for two, it was a hefty price. However, it did have a good amount of food, including cucumber sandwiches, a choice of tea for a shared pot(I believe we had the Rose Garden Tea), a variety of little cakes, two scones and a choice slice of a regular cake. We even had some food to take home. Service was impecable at this place. We were hesitant, at first, because it took a bit to be acknowledge and seated. We did find out they were understaffed, and still managed to do nicely, given that the place had a good amount of people. In all, I was impressed with the food and service, although, I would skip the Garden Tea Set unless I had a larger group. Other prices were not bad and the food was pretty good.

Yelp
Mother daughter tea time, is one of my favorite times. We enjoyed the sweet tea of lavender. Which is my favorite. Unexpectedly the cuffle is served chilled. I was expecting it to be warmed. And it was very generous on the whipped cream. I absolutely love the service. My favorite is the unique technique in the pour.

Yelp
This spot is such a great deal to escape into a whimsical afternoon out with friends. The tea selection is excellent as well as the food that is available to go with it. I got the lavender milk tea and it wasn't too sweet and paired lovely with the cookies and scones that came on our afternoon tea tower. It's such a great deal to order because it includes: a tea pot, sandwich, and slice of cake. Perfect to share between 2-3 people. Also tried the spicy popcorn chicken and it is delightfully crispy with a kick! Prices are reasonable and service is on point. The staff are so quick to come and check on you for additional snacks or teas. I tipped my tea glass over by accident and I had 2 staff members rush over with napkins to save the day! So polite and wonderful. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Food is delicious and made to order. Overall A+ The service is prompt and the booking is mandatory. Staff were not super friendly and a bit uptide. So B- for staff. Ambiance is great and the demonstration of the food and teas provide a great experience.

Yelp
I recently dined at Proper Rose Garden for Sunday brunch with my son, and unfortunately, it was a major letdown. Despite being promptly seated, our table was cramped, positioned uncomfortably close to both the bathroom and the bustling kitchen walkway. The food left much to be undesired; my son fish and chips were cold and tough, while my dish of sticky fish sauce wings dish took an eternity to arrive. The lack of space made the whole experience claustrophobic, with constant traffic disrupting any hope of enjoying our Sunday meal. After an hour of enduring the chaos, I had to insist we leave. To add insult to injury, the waiter's dismissive attitude and lack of transparency with the bill left a sour taste in my mouth. Despite his rudeness, I still tipped generously, though it was hardly deserved. Suffice it to say, I won't be returning to Proper Rose. Very disappointed.

Yelp
The ambiance is picture perfect! Proper Rose Garden gives the feel of a sophisticated small village in Italy. The portions are all finger foods with a variety of teas in porcelain kettles and tea cups. You can purchase the bundle which serves up to four people and comes in a variety of pastries. Come enjoy this little piece of peace for a blissful lunch get together with your girlfriends.
