Attempted to put in order for delivery (Uber Eats Credit + $4 Promo) and while I have heard fantastic things about the food, the UX and CX Interface + Additional Food Allergies are:
Not able to be saved for the default user profile on Uber Eats or Grub Hub.
Go team Celiac and GF, because that is a very easy modifier for all y'all, but if you are allergic to other things covered in Basic Food Handling & Safety 101 (e.g. Allergens, Anaphylaxis, Cross-Contamination) and you legit carry Rx Antihistamines & an EpiPen as I do, let's just say I am STUNNED that the goopy, anti-gluten crowd... And a SMALL percentage of people who must manage celiac daily are accommodated.
FOH misheard and thought I was asking about gluten. Nope. The allergen that is lurking EVERYWHERE has three syllables, not two.
FOH did not know what the allergen was, even after I explained it in very simple, specific terms [stage cough] "Hot Ones" Ahem... "Scoville Units"
I held, (to The Sound of Silence - no music, no chipper jingle, just dead air - ) whilst the FOH rep urgently made an enquiry with The Cook(s) in BOH. I was advised that The Kitchen Manager was not there.
"Unfortunately, the Cook said that ingredient IS in the food, so... Yeah - no."
"It's in EVERYTHING? Even the Brown Sugar Brussels Sprouts?"
"Well, it's in almost everything, and definitely all of the chicken."
Naturally, I was curious about which chilis were used and in what stages and components - could FOH Rep name them, please?
"I don't know, I di'int ask."
"So, you could not say whether it's 1/4 tsp dried, powdered, Anaheim chili in the brine, or Carolina Reapers-"
"Ma'am, we do not use Carolina Reapers in our recipes and I am not permitted to give you the recipe. It's just that they told me the ingredient you're allergic to is in like, all the food."
What in the name of Colonel Angus Sanders does FOH think I am trying to extract from them? It is not their proprietary blend of Spicy Spices in Basically All The Food, it's Allergen Information so I do not go into Anaphylaxis and get unalived!
Corporate HQ: Fix your website, and make sure ALL of your staff are Current and Competent in Food Handling & Safety 101, and can distinguish a food preference, dietary restriction and a food ALLERGEN.
