Google
5 stars for 5 reasons 1. The chicken was super fresh and crispy! Surprisingly good food for airport! 2. They gave us extra piece of chicken! 3. The price is normal for airport food. 4. Quantity is a lot! 5. Fries were freshly done!

Dom Wee

Google
My friend recommended this free-range fried chicken sandwich, and the names of the chickens are bit misleading because they don’t call it fried chicken. They called it FIRED which is confusing. But paired with buffalo sauce and coleslaw - was an amazing sandwich. I would recommend and return again for this!!

Paula Renata

Google
The fried chicken was overcooked and too dry. Both the chicken and potato wedges were extremely salty to the point that it might be a concern for those watching their sodium intake. The ranch sauce was too watery. Even the coleslaw lacked flavor and not enough mayo. Overall, the food was disappointing.

Mike Pham

Google
The service was outstanding, and the food quality was definitely above average. However, the prices were far too high for the portion sizes and overall value. While the experience was enjoyable, it didn’t quite justify the cost.

Joe Riztastic

Google
I put 4 stars for the atmosphere because it's the airport at SFO. Do NOT expect an experience that will wow you for atmosphere. That said, the food and service was worth 5/5 stars! They not only gave me the wings, garlic potato wedges, and ranch I wanted, but their Buffalo sauce was quite good for West Coast! On top of that, they even smaller chicken wing portions into my box, so it REALLY did feel like I got my money's worth!

Google
$28 = chicken sandwich, potato wedges, and a soft drink. I'm in San Francisco's airport so this wasn't unexpected. Unfortunately my chicken was overcooked. Enough that it mostly ruined my sandwich. I expect this doesn't always happen, but today it did. The wedges were good. The buffalo sauce was great. I expect the sandwich is usually great too, but at these prices consistency is essential. One last FYI. It wasn't very busy, and I waited about 10 minutes for my food.

Jenn Pippin

Google
I had the chicken fried breast and the flavor was amazing. It has a coleslaw on the oval baked bread baguette. I would come back! Price was comparable to everything surrounding it so high prices expected.

Life Coach CW

Google
To be airport food on the run I would say the chicken sandwich was fair and the fries were good. I can’t complain. The food seem fresh and was in fact hot. #lifecoachcw @god_bless_the_real

Yelp
I got the chicken sandwich with the potato wedges. The potato wedges were actually really good and unique, I liked the buffalo-type sauce that they came with! But the sandwich was pretty disappointing. The coleslaw didn't have seasoning that I could detect other than lots of mayo, and the chicken inside was so dry that it was really tough and chewy. The breading was cooked ok but didn't really have any seasoning. I ended up not finishing the sandwich. Maybe the other locations are good though! This was the airport location that I tried.

Yelp
They can't even spell fried chicken correctly on their kiosk menu. The potato are advertised to have thyme and garlic. None! Tenders have 4 and were cooked too long.

Melissa S.

Yelp
Standard airport food stall ambiance. Food was expensive but came out fresh and the fries were delicious. I also could have easily shared this meal with someone which would have made it more cost effective. This was my first time trying proposition chicken so I got the house sauce and ranch (both for an additional $1 each) and if I came again I would skip the house sauce. I ordered on the screen in-front of someone and the worker was nice and quick to get me my food. If you're looking for somewhere to eat in this food court I would recommend the Greek place right next to this but if you are seriously craving chicken this place is just fine. Nothing to really rave about but easy to share and quick.

Sunil R.

Yelp
A decent option relative to the other restaurants in the vicinity. I got the chicken tenders which was good. Staff seemed friendly and attentive.

Marilyn V.

Yelp
Airport food and what do you expect? Thought chicken would be safe to order, how would you go wrong? But chicken tasted very bland. Not a hint of salt. Sometimes it makes me wonder how much the cost is to make food taste a notch better. But I have to compliment them for letting me choose which part I prefer. The coleslaw was even worse. Taste is not even close to what it's called.

Ace Lasalle G.

Yelp
the chicken is so crispy, i'm no longer sure if i'm still eating the batter or chicken bones. Let's tone down the use of cornstarch.

Simon C.

Yelp
Chicken is dry as death, coating tasteless other than burnt oil. The house spicy cole slaw is unapetizing and the spicy sauce for the chicken was like slightly spicy tartar sauce, which nobody ever thought tastes good on fried chicken. A waste of calories.

Winston L.

Yelp
Ooh, did not check the reviews before coming here. Was in a rush in the morning and grabbed an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. I expected chicken in this thing even though it didn't say it on the menu - guess my brain wasn't awake yet. The sandwich itself - warm soft bread, a runny egg, and a slice of melted cheese. It was actually quite tasty except I thought I was eating a filet-o-fish sandwich. No, there wasn't fish in the sandwich, but the sauce was like tartar sauce and it threw me for a complete loop. If I were to come back, I'd probably add bacon and then see what other sauce options were available. Maybe they have something more like an aioli? I wouldn't recommend the default sauce.

Yelp
We had two hours to kill before our flight and were hungry. Browsing around the food court in T3 and we decided upon Proposition Chicken, mainly because there was no line and ordering is done on self-serve tablets. When you order a chicken meal, you can choose what kind of pieces you want (thigh, breast, etc), which is awesome because getting two thighs for the same price seems like a huge win when most places would do a thigh and a drumstick or wing. The meal comes with your selection of two sides and one sauce. We opted for the cole slaw and the fries. I don't remember the name of the sauce, but it was unremarkable. The cole slaw was terrible - absolutely no vinegary, sweet tang, and no discernible herb or spice flavor. Imagine shredded cabbage mixed with mayonnaise and not even properly seasoned. Yeah, it was bad. The fries were okay, but seem like frozen fries as opposed to fresh cut. The chicken was decent. The thighs were still juicy and the outside was still crisp. I personally thought the chicken coating lacked seasoning and spice - it was very subtle. In terms of airport food options, it was just okay. There are better options in T3. If you can stand the line, Bun Mee makes awesome bahn mi.

James B.

Yelp
I had the chicken tenders and fries and it was just gross, oily without actually being crispy.

Gunnar J.

Yelp
Don't bother. I honestly struggle to remember having worse chicken anywhere. Another sentence needed for review.

Allie G.

Yelp
Not quite as bad as the other reviews say, but this place is definitely mediocre! I ordered the Buttermilk Ranch Breakfast Sandwich with the house sauce on the side. The side sauces do cost extra, but the house sauce was fully worth it. It took about 10 minutes for my food to be ready (make sure you actually check that all your items/sauces are there), and I took it to a table in the food court since I wasn't in a rush. The sandwich was very hot and messy to eat, so I ended up having to eat it in parts. I did like the chicken itself, as well as their ranch sauce. The bread was just ok (very greasy) and the egg wasn't runny at all. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but I would probably try elsewhere next time I'm at the airport.

Shelly Y.

Yelp
Awful chicken! Sits out too long and the taste is bland. Have dipping sauces but they are equally blah. Suggest you find another eatery whilst at SFO. Sorry guys, I am honest

Jeff P.

Yelp
I had Proposition Chicken when I arrived and again when I left through SFO. I tried a chicken sandwich and then the salad with chicken - which I enjoyed even more. While it was somewhat expensive, everything at the airport is. The food tasted great and it was delivered promptly, which I appreciated since I was short on time both visits. No real ambiance to speak of, although the airport lounge did have live music playing that was nice.

Anthony T.

Yelp
Very nice service. Food came out pretty quickly. Overall I enjoyed the process. Bonus points for a kiosk you can order with so you can skip talking to people lol

Katherine W.

Yelp
This was one of the few restaurants open around 10 PM in Terminal 3. It's located in the food court with a number of other places. The chicken and fries were fine -- not too dry like other reviews have mentioned. My main complaint is that I paid extra for ranch *and* the house sauce, but the ranch was missing. Airport food is pretty expensive in the first place, so I was annoyed my order wasn't even correct.

Kong L.

Yelp
I arrived later during the dinner hours and needed to grab a bite before hopping on my red eye flight. There were still quite a lot of choices to choose from but this particular stand stood out to me. I was craving finger food so this seem to be the perfect spot. Their specialty is "chicken", from sandwiches to wings. I went with the wings and fries for $15. The lady who took my order had an attitude and seem like she didn't want to be there but I was here for the food! When my food came out, it was hot and the quantity was huge! I couldn't even finish all of the wings. The wings were good but it wished it came with more ranch dressing on the side for dipping. The fries were amazing! They were crunchy and cooked the way I wanted. Not a bad spot, you can easily split the wings meal with another person.

Yag P.

Yelp
super solid option in San Francisco airport. Chicken was fresh, well prepared, tasty. definitely not spicy, but was crispy. As you would imagine, not the healthiest option, but definitely one to add to the list if you are in SFO and seeking something decent.

John S.

Yelp
Not sure what all these people are complaining about.. my egg/cheese/bacon sandwich is fantastic, especially coming out of an airport. Perfectly cooked!

Greg W.

Yelp
$16 for a small chicken sandwich. Definitely checks the box for overpriced airport food. The menu pictures deceived me into wondering if the sandwich size was so large that I'd need to be concerned about whether or not I could finish it. The chicken sandwich was ok besides the size. It was a good piece of chicken, though a little dry. Not quite as moist as it could've been. The slaw on the sandwich was a good blend of sweet, savory, and creamy. It balanced the chicken nicely.

Brian K.

Yelp
I don't typically go for "fast food", but I was hungry, didn't bring anything with me and didn't have much time to catch my flight, so I was stuck and decided to try this place. Got some chicken tenders and fries for my flight back to NY. Not bad!! Good portion size, chicken was moist and tender and the coating crispy and not too greasy. Fries were fresh and not oily. I was actually pleasantly surprised and would try this place again. My only advice would be to make sure you get your meal fresh.

Dionne S.

Yelp
Chicken was disgusting no seasoning, poor low quality house made barbecue sauce did not look like picture which looks tossed in a sauce and not poured on top like how it was provided to me. Do NOT eat here, refills are $1.14. Hated it . Claimed the chocolate chip cookie was chewy but was very hard and poor taste.

Lily K.

Yelp
The fried chicken here is over priced and burnt! I ordered two chicken legs which came out to 11$!! No sides or anything. The chicken was so overcooked and hard I couldn't eat the fried batter and had to use my knife to cut to the inside. Not worth a single penny. I asked the lady working how much it was per piece and she just said she didn't know but wouldn't offer to look it up and stood there waiting for me to order.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Wanted a quick and easy meal before catching our flight at SFO and Proposition Chicken looked good. In reality, it was a sad waste of $ Despite having free range chicken and some healthy, and gluten free options which was nice to see for an airport restaurant- was a waste of $50, I ended up throwing away my chicken strips- they were too tough to chew through- and got some tasty tomato soup next door My bf liked the chicken sandwich though and did enjoy the flavors so his experience was closer to 3 stars. Though it's an extra $4 to add fries to your already $12 sandwich: be warned The customer service was very friendly and kind and efficient

Leidy B.

Yelp
The food is no fresh!! chicken and potatoes are not fresh, must be a place with good food for travelers looking for something to eat and in a hurry

Billy V.

Yelp
The tenders were nice however the other half of the meal are the fries and they were definitely not edible unless you want high blood pressure. I had to knock off all the salt they put on. For $14 this was not an enjoyable experience. The fries were definitely good bit it's hard eating straight up salt. I hope you reassess buy from here if you're reading this review. I don't recommend eating here.

Ben B.

Yelp
60 dollars for below average food. That's not why it's a 1 star - it's because when we asked for a refill or Diet Coke because our toddler spilled it the employee curtly responded "uh we don't do refills here".

Keith H.

Yelp
The food was actually quite tasty. The chicken sandwich was delicious and had a nice sauce to it. My daughter enjoyed the wings, my wife enjoyed the chicken strips, and my son enjoyed the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. The subtracted star is because airport food is expensive enough without paying $4 extra on top of an already expensive $16 chicken sandwich for them to then forget to put the potato wedges I paid for in the bag. Super bummed to get to the plane and realize I paid for something they did not include.

Ryan M.

Yelp
Chicken is too dried, fries are saggy not hot , Expensive. Giving this palace a 1 star

Ally W.

Yelp
I like fried chicken, so stopped by Proposition Chicken to grab a Buttermilk Ranch Breakfast Sandwich before my flight. The chicken meat is pretty small (1 star off), smaller than the sandwich bun, but had a nice crisp to it. The bread is very greasy though (1 star off), so I ended up just eating the chicken and fried egg with a fork and knife -- not the easiest to consume on the go, but it satisfied an airport craving.

Otome H.

Yelp
Tried their fried chicken sandwich and hand cut fries and house sauce with each. The chicken sandwich was very good. Their slaw was not very spicy but it was very flavorful. The chicken was fried well as it was crispy without being oily, dry, or heavy. The house sauce was okay. The house sauce came with the sandwich (there are 4 sauce options and it's included on the side). It basically tastes like a spicy ranch if you like that, but I don't really like ranch, so I wouldn't know if this tasted good. The fries were fries. Nothing special but tasted fine. Their prices were also reasonable at $11.99 for the sandwich and $3.99 for the fries. There service staff was nice and the food came out relatively quick and hot. I don't really review food, but there are few places in SFO with good food at reasonable prices, so I felt I should post something since no one has posted a review on the place.

Debbie B.

Yelp
the sfo location is not gluten free which is very confusing for SF customers who are used to proposition chicken being gluten free. hey PC, maybe offer the gluten free just like you do at all your other locations.

John E.

Yelp
Automatically 1 star without even trying the food. On top of asking for a 20% tip on fast food. They automatically add a "Employee Benefit" fee. And they do it without telling you! Should not be legal to add fees to a bill without disclosing. And with as over priced is this place is, the owner should be paying his employees benefits. Not me. (2) sandwiches, (1) wedge, and a couple waters was $55.

Baris B.

Yelp
Airport food doesn't need to be disgusting. This place was. Oil drenched gross sandwiches.

Robert H.

Yelp
$17 for a dry, greasy, barely seasoned chicken breast smothered in coleslaw. Never again. Trash.

David H.

Yelp
First, I don't like writing negative reviews. I would rather spend my time encouraging fellow foodies to go some place that is great versus warning them about places that are not. But this review needs to be written so nobody else wastes their money. I've been to Proposition Chicken on Lakeshore several times and always thought it was good. Not as good as Kowbird, Hawking Bird, or Aburaya but still very good. When I saw the location in Terminal 3, I was pleasantly surprised and psyched to have a good chicken sandwich before my flight. Unfortunately, the one at SFO doesn't even come close to the Lakeshore location. First, instead of a generous portion of chicken that I'm used to receiving, they used one chicken strip to make the sandwich. One. I would have much rather paid $20 for the sandwich and received a portion that was suitable for someone other than a 5-year-old. Second, the fries were soggy. And because I was so starved from receiving the kid's sandwich that I had to eat most of them. Only at truly god-awful restaurants have I experienced soggy fries. Welcome to that list Proposition Chicken. Finally, I wrote an email to the folks at Proposition Chicken to let them know what was going on as after my great experiences at the Lakeshore location, I thought they would want to know what was going on at SFO. Did I hear back from them after two weeks and counting? Nope. So much for caring. Normally I don't fly United so I'm never in Terminal 3. But if I ever am again, I will never eat there and I'll actively tell people not to eat there. And I'm going to think twice about going to the one on Lakeshore again. With so many great chicken sandwich options in the Bay Area (Lou's Luncheonette's Two-Burn is currently topping my list and Mamahuhu in San Francisco is a close second) there's absolutely no need to patronize this place. I'll get my dinner at Hudson News before I try Proposition Chicken again.

Michael A.

Yelp
Please revisit your quality control and staff training. I love the locations in SF city proper, they are so delicious. Let the chicken be as delicious as it is, we do not need pounds of coleslaw and mayonnaise! I sent a sandwich back and the second one still had way too much mayonnaise on it.

Phil X.

Yelp
Why do they claim their fries are hand-cut ($4.99)? It is just regular fries made out of potato powder.

Shaun R.

Yelp
This place is great for the breakfast chicken ranch sandwich with house sauce and wedge fries. I don't know why the low reviews, but this place it great.

Ellen A.

Yelp
My proposition is that they hire more employees (or hire people who can work a bit faster) so they can provide food in a timely manner after ordering. There is 1 breakfast sandwich on the menu, only 3 people who already ordered ahead of me so I was able to order right away after entering the line area. I waited 15 + minutes and had to rush to my gate... without my food because I couldn't wait any longer.

Billy C.

Yelp
Proposition Chicken used to be very good. But, judging by the order I received today, that ship has sailed. I ordered two fried chicken dinners, fries, wedges and chicken strips. Despite having to wait 20 or so minutes for my order to be ready, none of the food was hot or fresh. And, in the case of the fries, some was inedible. They were so cold, hard and crunchy it is obvious they were scraped from the bottom of the warming tray. All the food tasted as if it had been sitting in a warming tray for several hours--resulting in, dry and tasteless food. I would not be as upset if this happened at KFC for $30 but food, tax and tip added up to $81 and now I have to find something else to eat. What a waste. The next time I want fried chicken, this will not be the place I go to.

Oona M.

Yelp
The WORST chicken sandwich I've ever had. Just a chicken strip that tastes like it's from a gas station, cold "hand cut fries" when I ordered the thyme and rosemary wedges. The sandwich was on cheap, un toasted bun with pre-packaged slaw. That's it. Nothing else. Thank goddess my partner shared his bahn mi from "Bun Me". DEFINITELY go there instead. Unless you like bland/boring/ or have a crew of small children that only eat chicken nuggets.

Jeremy H.

Yelp
I travel through SFO frequently and usually stick to my favorite places to grab a bite to eat. Today I decided to mix it up and try Proposition Chicken. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich which came out to a little over $15. Pricey, but some of the other nearby places are pricey but good. When it came out it looked a bit dry so I asked the guy who appeared to be the manager for one of the sauces stacked on the counter. He told me the sauces aren't for sandwiches as he started to walk away before finishing his sentence. I sat down and ate the sandwich, which wasn't quite as dry as I thought, but the chicken was very greasy and the only flavor came from the spicy slaw on it. The slaw was pretty decent, but it didn't make up for the small portion of the bland, greasy chicken on the fairly dry roll. Won't be going back.

Leonard A.

Yelp
I wish I woulda read the reviews first.... Then again, who reads reviews for airport food when you're on the run?! Sadly, this place was not good.... I kinda had high hopes for it and tried looking at the food as it came up but they keep it covered for a reason apparently lol. Their "House Blend" dipping sauce is about the only thing good here. I Paid, and/or better yet WASTED $14 cause the chicken strips were tasteless.... Had to drench them in the house blend sauce to eat them.... The fries were hard as a rock/over cooked.... Not one was soft....and what's this "employee benefit"?!?? Is this a restaurant thing? Or a SF thing?!. Deff not spending money here again

Andrew B.

Yelp
I am not picky when it comes to fried chicken. I'm fact, bland is great. But, this place is not worth the price. The chicken strips were clearly old and reheated. If it wasn't so thick, it would have been chicken jerky. But, fries were good and hot. Ranch was tasty, and chicken flavor was good. So, overall average for airport food.

Michael F.

Yelp
As someone whose eaten 100+ Proposition Chicken sandwiches, the sandwich I was provided was an absolute embarrassment. The taste and texture of the sandwich were not even close to the real proposition chicken - and it was so gross I had to throw it away and order another meal from another restaurant. Do NOT eat here.

M C.

Yelp
$22 for a chicken sandwich, fries and a coke. Can't get cheese on the sandwich kind of a bummer. Chicken was decent but next time I'm here I'll probably go somewhere else. Didn't blow my mind or anything

John H.

Yelp
Really not worth $14 for a sandwich. Small portions and really doesn't taste good. Eat somewhere reliable at SFO

M B.

Yelp
I had chicken strips with fries. Strips had no good flavor at all. When I got to bottom of fries I found the bottom of the fryer apparently had been dumped as well. Don't waste your money here.
