A truly memorable lunch in the heart of Dubrovnik’s Old Town! The setting is elegant and peaceful, the service attentive and professional, and the food… simply outstanding. The baked octopus was incredibly fresh, perfectly tender, and beautifully presented with refined sides. We also really appreciated the staff’s recommendations for both wine and dishes. Visited in early spring (low season - April). A few tables of patrons. We were served dearly & simply the best dinner in Dubrovnik. Every dish was served with utmost delicacy & our favourite was the foie gras, smooth, buttery and literally melted in the mouth. Secondly was the mushroom & truffle pasta, creamy and mushroomy. Last but not least, the octopus tentacles were chewy & cooked to perfection. Sparkling wine was the greatest touch of all. All in all, we had a pleasant meal in Proto fish restaurant!

One of the best restaurants we’ve dined at in Dubrovnik, highly recommend coming here if you’re in town. The service was excellent and our server was very helpful in giving us recommendations on what to try. We ordered oysters and beef carpaccio to start. Then had Grilled Sea Bass, Fettuccine with Scampi and Black Truffles, and Oven Roasted Octopus Tentacles. All the main dishes were wonderful but the octopus tentacles was some of the best I’ve ever had in my life, I didn’t even know you can make octopus that tender! Finished off with a couple of desserts, one that was kinda like a lava cake but filled with a pistachio sauce and then a serving of chocolate mousse. Great ambiance especially with the terrace seating.

Michelin star seafood restaurant. Food was okay but price was high for what it was in my opinion. We had scallop, grilled octopus and 1.2kg sea bass grilled with veg and potatoes (150€!!).

Was recommended to this place by a friend of mine. At first the atmosphere felt lovely and the drinks seemed pleasant but very slowly things went down hill. Our waiter for one was as thick as a brush. He forgot to mention the meal we ordered (that he himself recommended) had bone, head and tail. I chose not to have this and instead went for the monk fish as I was informed it did not have head, bone or tail. Our waiter advised against it but accepted my decision. When my family massive fish had arrived it had been a 20 minute wait and we were all taken aback by the head and tail of this meal. I was glad to be getting the monk fish as I am scream-ish when it comes to full on dead fish. Only for the waiter to forget my meal all together, leaving me to tuck into something that I found uncomfortable. He then came out with my monk fish only to call it a lamb chop. Lamp chops are red meat and this was a pale white, it was a fish. Then my brother who was sitting next to me began to choke on a fish bone, he was coughing for a good 3 minutes and our waiter wasn’t even concerned in fact none of the staff battered an eyelid when my brother was struggling to breathe. He was fine in the end but still you’d expect a discount for forgetting my food and nearly killing my brother. But nope, the waiter charged us a whopping €464 and when asked about discount he just said “No, no all is fine” , he then asked for a tip. Seriously a tip after all that!!!!!! Unless you’re looking for a rubbish meal and poor service, never ever come here.

Very enjoyable lunch with briny local oysters from Ston, baked octopus with zucchini and olives and pistachio fondant. The upstairs terrace is a peaceful refuge. Yes it’s pricy but you get your money’s worth. I don’t know what prior reviewer is talking about as service from the lady up on the terrace was great.

I expected that this was one of the best restaurants in the city, but it was not so and it was a disappointment. Firstly, some dishes were not bad, some were a disappointment. This concerns risotto - very mediocre. Secondly, we came for a late lunch and our waiter simply disappeared in the middle of the dinner, did not even say "ciao";)) to us, at the end of the dinner we were served by a lady who was also not taught good manners and she simply forgot to say hello to us and introduce herself as our new waiter. If you need something, you will have to constantly look for the waiter with your eyes. And finally, thirdly, I understand that Dubrovnik is an expensive city, and I am ready to pay for quality but sell a bottle of Croatian spumante for 88 euros, which costs 21 euros in stores.!!! Guys, I left you a tip for a good bottle of wine, drink it and think about your work. Based on this, 3 points +

A truly wonderful place. The fish of the day was I think the best I've ever had: fresh, moist, perfectly pan-fried and seasoned to perfection. The starters were also fantastic, sweet, plump scallops and a wonderfully rich platter of oysters au gratin. My husband had the fettuccine with shrimp and truffles for a main which was creamy and indulgent. And to top it all off they brought us a fabulous little birthday carrot cake for my husband's birthday. The service could not have been friendlier and was brilliantly efficient. We had a magical table on the terrace to enjoy the warm evening. A wonderful night.
