Fish Restaurant Proto

I took my sister here as a birthday treat and while we hadn’t booked, we still managed to get a table. It might just have been us but I’m pretty sure the hostess took one look at us dressed in casual wear and didn’t want us eating there 😂 - she said she only had one table right at the back of a side street. Which was funny because another couple turned up shortly after and they got a better seat 🤷🏻‍♀️ However, we weren’t deterred. We shared the fish soup and the truffle croquette which were both delicious. I’d easily have had those again. For mains, my sister had catch of the day which was sea bass and I had the black risotto. It was good but rich and a little too salty. This place is pretty pricey especially if you add wine on top. Service was efficient and professional (apart from the hostess) and we enjoyed our meal.

Undoubtedly one of the best seafood restaurants i’ve ever been to. Aside from the cozy ambience the restaurant has, their seafood is crazy delicious and fresh. The Shrimps are veryyyyy sweet and Lobsters were sooo buttery and tender. The waiter also was very kind to tell me not to over-order their menu, highly considerate of him.

Restaurant Proto in Dubrovnik truly deserves the highest praise! The food was absolutely excellent – especially the snails, the rich and perfectly prepared fish platter, and the carrot cake which rounded off the whole experience beautifully. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and professional, making the evening even more enjoyable. A warm recommendation for anyone looking for an authentic gastronomic delight in Dubrovnik!

A very high-quality restaurant. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable for a city center. Attention to detail is excellent. The atmosphere is exceptional. I highly recommend it. It's a bit of a trek from the Baltic Sea... but I promise to return!

A truly memorable lunch in the heart of Dubrovnik’s Old Town! The setting is elegant and peaceful, the service attentive and professional, and the food… simply outstanding. Beautiful restaurant in the heart of the old town. Recommended booking a table in advance for the upstairs terrace. The food was very good - although catering for allergies could be better (plain grilled fish comes up a lot in Croatia). Service was excellent.

One of the upscale diners in the old town. There were limited vegetarian dishes, but were tasty and unique. The waiters were friendly and excellent tour guides.
