15 Best Charlotte, North Carolina, Coffee Shops | Eater Carolinas

"Defined Coffee’s two-person barista team and its artfully crafted coffee drinks are a force for good in Gibson Mill Market in Concord. This small corner in a remodeled mill somehow manages to be simultaneously earthy, industrial, and Santa Barbara-esque. The baristas don’t let a busy line deter them from pulling quality espresso and designing latte art like it’s their last. It’s hard to choose a favorite from the fall menu, but it has to be the recurring seasonal mainstay—the Deathly Swallows, a minty latte with a whisper of a ghost pepper-infused maple kick. There’s nothing like it. This spot, with an enormous antique store next door, is seriously worth a day trip to Concord." - Kayleigh Ruller

I spent the day with my son who is home from college. I had visited Southern Strain Brewing & Eatery around a month ago & loved it! In that review I had made a brief mention of this coffee shop. While exploring today, we met the owners (Cohen & Preston) & they were really nice. They made us seasonal coffee called orange Creamsicle and my son really loved it! They also have another Provided Coffee location in Uptown that we’ll need to try the next time we’re in that part of Charlotte. You will love this unique coffee space with its vintage furniture and decor & what’s awesome is it’s conveniently located in this old mill that houses both a brewery with food and a vintage shopping experience. Hidden coffee spot you would know is there. Coffee shop is around the corner and inside a vintage goods store. Menu is limited, but they have a good amount of options. I appreciate a place that does seasonal menus. We got one hot and one cold carrot cake latte. It was good. Not very sweet or strongly flavored, but we enjoyed it. They have baked foods and various coffee/tea options. There are various types of seating throughout. Overall a good experience.

Super cute coffee shop with eclectic seating. Love the aesthetics and vibes of the cafe. I myself was sitting on a church pew during my stay. Good music and plenty of space to get work done. Also, the whole reason you’d stop by… the coffee. This stop I didn’t get any coffee but the blackberry matcha and chai were fantastic. The chocolate chip cookie was also the perfect amount of crumbly and had salt on top to give it that extra flavor.

Great space, rotating seasonal beverages, iced carrot cake latte lived up to its name, & service was excellent. I didn’t ask, but it tasted like the syrup was made in-house. Must try!

This place felt like finding hidden treasure! This cafe certainly isn’t lacking for space so forget not being able to find a spot! Akin to shopping for your optimal seating preference… window seat, a cozy place on the sofa, a chair with a table, perhaps? Absolutely sit down and stay for a while! Their seasonal menu also lands on top with delightful options such as orange creamsicle and blackberry. This coffee shop captures great service with an inviting ambiance and happy tastebuds to match. Bonus points for having a vintage clothing store in the same building! Lastly, the music choice was superb.

This place is super cozy. It is a combination of a coffee shop and a vintage clothing store. I love all the vintage furniture in the loft style setting. I love the warehouse space it is in. The Orange latte that I had was even the orange flavor was too subtle for me. But everyone was friendly. Great place to work on the computer. You can play chess or just relax. Really cute space.

Great coffee house. Very vibey in a “nobody understands me” sort of way. It has a brewery and a thrift shop attached that are also really cool. Coffee was amazing and they really take their time making it.

Tbh this is the only place locally I can drink my lattes black, which says a lot, because normally I get a latte with a lethal amount of sugar. Like I dunno why this place has good black lattes. I don’t question the wizardry, but I keep coming back so like. Neat! On a more serious note; great service, kind baristas and easy to order. Might be “hard to find” but like, google maps and Waze AND Apple Maps showed me where it was and also there’s literally arrows everywhere, it’s like a main quest point. Being able to browse clothes and plants while I sip coffee? Amazing. 10/10 business decision. ALSO OPEN ON A SUNDAY??? EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK???? THANK. GOD.
