Providence By The Slice is the perfect spot for pizza lovers! The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is fantastic—especially on nice days when they open up the restaurant so you can enjoy the fresh air while you eat. While both the environment and the staff are great, the real star here is the pizza. Wow! The pizzas are amazing. My personal favorite is definitely the Famous Rick Lang. The in-house-made hot honey is indescribably delicious; you absolutely have to try a slice, even if you plan to order something else. Trust me, it will leave you wanting to take a whole pizza to go! Another highlight of this place is the great value and quick service. Each slice of pizza costs about $4.50, and if you opt for takeout, it only takes about 4 to 5 minutes, at most, from what I was seeing. This place is truly a must-try!

Google
The best pizza in Kansas City. It's a nice environment, service is always friendly, and the food is amazing. Edit: I have had the Rick Lang every time I come here and it is the best pizza I have ever had. Edit2: Well over a year later the quality of the food has not deminished. Service is always on point.

Tired of the BBQ in KC? Grab a slice at Providence and you are going to have a good time. Good selection of draft beers and a mix of traditional slices and some great combos like the East Coast and Slater Mill.

We were visiting from out of town and my daughter asked for pizza for dinner on our way back to our hotel. This place had great reviews so we stopped by. The music outside and the vibe was so much fun! My 4 year old stood at the window dancing and waving to passersby. The pizza was incredible. The Detroit style pizza was 11/10!

Walked in about an hour after opening after deciding to check out the Car Show in Westport on a Saturday and needed a little bite to eat. It wasn't busy at all and there was about 9 or 10 full pizza's just sitting out behind the bar and I could see that almost all of them looked burnt and it was a little unsettling that they just leave the pizza sitting out to grow bacteria and collect dust. I ordered one slice for over $4 and it was just not appetizing at all and the bottom of the pizza was even more burnt and very skimpy on the ingredients as well. I Wanted to complain but it's just a slice of pizza and just moved on with my life. My partners pizza was the same also so we wasted $10 on two slices when we should've just went somewhere else. I was hungrier leaving then when I came in. Not a memorable experience.

Yelp
OMG, If I lived in Westport, every night would be pizza night!!!This place has the best pizza in town especially the best pepperoni pizza I've ever had. On a lazy Sunday afternoon, my husband and I decided to explore Westport and check out some new restaurants. We came across Providence by the Slice, and it did not disappoint. As soon as we walked in, we ordered the 20-inch thin crust pepperoni pizza anddddd we finished the whole thing in one go. That's how good it was. The crust was soft and pillowy, the sauce had the perfect tang, and there was just the right amount of pepperoni and cheese on it. It honestly felt like I was eating pizza in New York. The staff were super friendly, and the place has a cozy, rustic vibe with an amazing ceiling design as soon as you step inside. I'd give it a 10 out of 10. I would definitely go back to try the remaining flavors. If you are pizza addict, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Enjoyed having different crust options (New York, Detroit, Sicilian) and the option to get it by the slice. We were pleased with our pizza, but wish there would have also been salads to purchase. Service was ok - person who took our order wasn't very interactive.

Yelp
Love the pizza here. Was really excited to see them on too good to go and I was able to secure a three slices for five dollars deal. I didn't get to choose the toppings, because it's a mystery box however, I got the Roger Williams and loved it. It was nice because I don't think I would've ordered that combo of toppings on my own, but I really enjoyed it and it's probably become a favorite for me! I'm excited to give this place another go, and hopefully dine in this next time.

Yelp
After lounging by the pool, my daughter and I decided we needed some food and fortunately for us, Providence is just down the street. She isn't a very adventurous eater so she had the pepperoni, I went with the East Coast, and my husband chose a Sicilian option. It was delish! And the lemoncello cannoli was outstanding! Highly recommend! The service was fast and friendly, and the vibe was fun.

Yelp
I can't believe I let this place sit on my list of pizza joints to try for so long before checking them out. They came recommended a TON by viewers that know I like a good pizza. I came in on a Tuesday and got 2 slices and a soda for less than $10 and it turned out to be some of the best pizza I've had in the entire city. It was so good that I ended up going back a week later for more. If you've not had Providence By the Slice and you're craving some pizza, go there now. Don't debate about it. Don't look at other options. Go! You can see more of our experience on our YouTube travel channel: https://youtu.be/8l2KvVoSapM

Yelp
I've only had this spot once via delivery but my initial impression was a good one! I feel like the KC pizza scene has suffered a bit over the last decade, so it's great to have a spot like this step up and fill a void. So we had heard that their Sicilian pizza called The Rezy is where it's at; burrata, pink vodka sauce, basil, calabrese peppers, romano cheese, and sesame seed crust. I've never really had a pizza quite like it, it was overall good! It was very thick and VERY filling, to the point where one small square felt like two or three regular slices. I added some red pepper flakes and the spice level was ideal. I do tend to lean more towards thinner crust pizzas, but it was nice to change it up. The Rezy was good and might be right up your alley, but next time I head this way I will try a more traditional, NY style slice. Also I know I'm reviewing one specific location here, but I do remember trying their Grandview location many years ago and being quite impressed. Just wanted to mention it because they're spread throughout a few distinct areas of KC. I'll keep on exploring here and you should too!

Yelp
I hadn't heard of this place until we were looking for a place to eat in Westport and this is perfect for a casual and quick bite to eat! Good sized slices for a great price and super delicious!!! It was pretty busy when we went due to the St Patrick's day crowd in Westport but they were pretty efficient in getting the slices out. My friend's order got lost so she had to wait a bit longer but they offered her a drink on the house for the wait. They also didn't have the right pizza's under the right name/descriptions so ordering was slightly difficult but I think that was partly just because of how chaotic it was. Will for sure come again next time I need food while out in Westport!
google avatar

Yelp
Found this place looking for a quick midday bite to hold over until a later dinner. What a treat! The crust is perfectly chewy and crisp as a NY pizza should be. Toppings were loaded. Staff was super friendly.

Yelp
Providence by the Slice is the greatest thing to happen to humankind since Democracy!! This pizza is LEGIT!! I lived in NYC for years, have been all over Italy, make pizza at home, and am Italian - I can promise you that this pizza will take you bank to Brooklyn!!! This pizza is ART!!! And it's cheap!! The staff is so nice too. He gave me tips where to go in Kansas City to see art with my daughter and have great bbq! Providence by the slice has no equal!! if you don't eat here, you have given up on all things good
google avatar

Yelp
Oh. My. Goodness. This is the BEST pizza I've ever had! I was out with a friend hitting some new spots I've never been, and this was such a great surprise! They have several options for pizza by the slice (which is soooo nice)! I only wish I had ordered another to go for the leftovers. I had their Detroit of the day...it was so yummy! My friend got the East Coast NY style and loved it! The service was good (although VERY East Coast-like). This will be a regular stop for me when in Westport...and I've found their other location in Grandview (a little closer to home). It's a small narrow place...very New York feeling. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Josh R.

Yelp
Believe the hype. Both the New York and Detroit style pizzas are on point! I can't stress enough how remarkable that is, most places can't even hit a homer with one style. We ordered whole fresh pies so I can't comment on the ready-to-go by the slice stuff, but they looked really good and people came and went who seemed quite happy with there slices. They were playing high volume 90's hip hop in the simple yet small dining room. There is a long bar where you can easily grab a slice while enjoying the hip decor add in the very friendly staff, and I n the words of Black Rob (who was playing when we walked in) "Woah!"
google avatar

Abbey S.

Yelp
please believe me when I say you must try the detroit style pizza. creamy cheese, crunchy crust, pillowy dough--gimme 14 of em.
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
We tried this place because of all their positive reviews. We liked their New York style crust. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Amanda I.

Yelp
Hidden gem in Westport! The crew makes the spot a place you want to visit and the pizza is amazing. The Detroit style is good, the dough is thick so ask for some sauce on the side. The style of pizza is crust, cheese, toppings, then sauce. We got large and had 8 HUGE squares to devour - couldn't do it but had tons of leftovers. This place is known for pizza by the slice - all of the kinda look good.
google avatar

Candice S.

Yelp
I decided to come here after trying their pizza at a catered event previously. It was so good I wanted to get it straight from the source. They have a very convenient set up with all of the slice options behind the bar, you pick what you want and how many, and they reheat it in the oven. You are also able to order fresh whole pizzas if you wish. The next time we come here, we will probably do a fresh pepperoni because I feel like their reheating makes it taste a little burnt. We wanted to try a variety so we ended up doing several slices. Everything is delicious! They also have a nice alcohol selection, but we stuck to water.

Yelp
Providence is a must visit if you are in KC Westport area ! The Detroit style pie is Top Notch!
google avatar

Jessica F.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza, both the New York style and Detroit style. Super friendly staff, few beers on tap and some cans. This place it's simple, and that's probably what makes their pizza so delicious. I wish I had taken a picture of my pizza, but I forgot because I ate it so quickly. I'll be back when I'm in KC.
google avatar

Azile Y.

Yelp
I went for lunch today and had one slice of each of the Detroit style pizzas (Rezy and Rick Lang)... Just delicious! Great service, nice simple relaxing atmosphere. I'm eager to return and try some of the New York style slices.

Joel M.

Yelp
Likes: Evcellent fresh dough. crispy and tasty Dislikes: Red sauce lacked flavor. cheese low grade, pepperoni either low grade or going bad. pizza tasted sour. and was slightly burnt. Serious lack of low/no sugar drink options. definitely not the 5 stars i was expecting.
google avatar

Sarah J.

Yelp
Great food! The cheese slice was perfect for our toddler. My husband really liked the Detroit by day slice. The garlic knots were delish. We thought we'd need a fork and knife to eat our slices, but the crust is crispy enough you can just hold them. Yum! Interesting art to look at. Helpful guy behind the counter. We even really liked the to-go box.

Yelp
I have missed Providence since they left the parlor location and I was super excited to stumble on this location in Westport. They have an express window where you can a slice of pepperoni or cheese but on the day I went, it was closed. So inside I went. They have a vast selection of different types of pizza that can be purchased by the slice or you can order a pie. They have New York and Detroit style and I'm sure everyone can find something that they will love. I went with the East Coast. It's a New York style topped with Mozzarella, Italian Sausage, Bacon, Mushrooms, Whipped Ricotta, Red Sauce, Fresh Basil, and Hot Honey. It was delicious. I would get an entire pie of this! My dining companion got the Detroit slice of the day but didn't ask what it was specifically. It looked good and they enjoyed it. My only regret is that I didn't get additional slices to stuff my face with! But I'll definitely be back to try some more. Oh and if they have cheese bread, get some! It's some of the best that I've had in the city.
google avatar

Raeley G.

Yelp
So glad we stopped by here while strolling through Westport! The East Coast pizza was delicious -- the crust texture is perfect for a thinner, foldable slice, and the toppings all worked together perfectly. The mozzarella was noticeably better quality than I am used to, which gets big bonus points from me. Additionally, I really liked the urban brick interior and how you can sit either at a table or the long bar facing the pizza oven. As you can tell from the name, they do sell individual slices ($4-5 each), and during our visit they had about 10 options to choose from. Although we only tried the one pizza, I like that they have several different crust styles, including gluten free. It was just so good. Wish I lived closer and then I'd be a regular!
google avatar

Jenni S.

Yelp
Pretty good pizza by the slice. Definitely not the best pizza around but it's pretty cheap and there are quite a few options. I'd come back! Service is fine, nothing spectacular. It's a little divey but in a good way.
google avatar

Kristen G.

Yelp
Best Pizza in KSC! Closest to NYC-style pizza I've had. They are always changing their pizza options, and they have all been delicious. Great ambience, and friendly owner. Don't skip it over!
google avatar

Yelp
Not able to get to West Port, l ordered a pizza and wings on Doordash. Since it was not eaten right after cooking, taste and quality might not have been as good eating 45 min later after delivery. However, Providence By The Slice makes great pizza! Selected a Detroit East Coast style small pan (8 x 10 inch) without any modifications. The crust was medium thick, buttery with a tender chew. The standard East Coast came with Mozzarella, Cheddar, Pepperoni, Bacon, Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, Ricotta, Red Sauce and Mike's Hot Honey. Discovered that on Tuesday, their wings are half price - 12 wings for $14 cost $7. Ordered 12 Buffalo and 12 Parmesan. The wings were very good. In my opinion, KC has a lot of excellent restruants, but a shortage of really great pizza places. Put Providence Pizza on the side of great!

Jake C.

Yelp
Unreal cannolis. Pizza fantastic. Salt of the earth employees. Great stop for a slice or take home. Detroit and ny style. Both great
google avatar

Jin K.

Yelp
What a great place to try various styles of pizza! We loved the Rick Lang Detroit style the best! The sauce, hot honey & pepperonis were so flavorful! The crust was surprisingly light & crispy! We also loved the Detroit style of the day, can't remember the name but had bacon & was tasty. We also tried the East Coast, magherita & slater mill, all good but the Lang was a true standout!! Great staff too, very nice & helped with sampling a few brews before going with the rad af hazy ipa , very good too btw! We will be back & probably order a whole sheet of the Rick Lang!!
google avatar

Dianne L.

Yelp
Exactly the kind of pizza I've been looking for in KC! Brings me right back to the east coast :)

Chuck W.

Yelp
Best pizza in KC! Detroit style is amazing and their cannolis are the best in town. This is who you call when you want pizza.
google avatar

Olivia S.

Yelp
Providence being this close to my apartment is becoming a problem. They have several thin crust and Detroit style options that are always there (including a basic cheese and pepperoni), and you can buy by the slice. The slices are warmed up in a little oven behind the counter while you pay. You can get take out slices, and there's a bar and a couple tables to dine in. I always seen tons of take out/online orders because you can get whole custom pizzas and choose from some options that aren't available by the slice! My personal favorite is the Rezy which has a sesame seed crust that is perfectly crunchy against all the cheesy soft toppings! You can't go wrong with the New York thin crust style either! Highly recommend getting a punch card -- free slice after you buy 12 slices because you're gonna be back here constantly. Parking is always a challenge in Westport, especially with Providence being close to Broadway. You'll have to hope for lucky street parking, or walk a little bit from one of the lots. Maybe you could get yourself a slice or garlic knot for you walk back to the car.

Yelp
Very good very nice. We liked the worker, Gregory from White Plains. ... Our favorite pizza was the Famous Rick Lang. It was very good. Everyone was very nice and the decoration was very cool. . 10/10 would recommend. :)))
google avatar

Jeff D.

Yelp
Had the East Coast pizza and we all loved it! It was recommended to us by the hospital staff...more than one!!
google avatar

Adelaida D.

Yelp
Great flavor and dough! Friendly service!! Tried detroit of the day and east coast, will be back!
google avatar

Kate B.

Yelp
Loved the vibe of this place and the neighborhood. The menu is pretty simple. They make 6-8 styles of pizza for the day and those are served until they're gone. We have a sampler and were happy with the variety. About half were winners and the rest not so much (the Roger Williams and the Detroit were not fan favorites). But we enjoyed it and were glad for the experience.
google avatar

Amy J.

Yelp
Excellent straightforward pizza, beer joint with kombucha bottles too. Delicious flavorful hot honey and cheese East Coast pizza replete with Italian sausage chunks throughout.
google avatar

Jenna C.

Yelp
Their Sicilian sesame crust is to DIE FOR. They made a custom pistachio pesto topping for my pizza and it was so so yummy. The service was good and the location is in one of my favorite spots the heart of Westport. You can take a walk to shops and bars near by.

Megan L.

Yelp
Heard about this place after eating and loving Luca Bagels at the farmer's market. The owner makes the best bagels ever, and his restaurant, Providence, has the best pizza ever. Hands down. The Detroit-style pizza is to die for. Will definitely be going back for more.
google avatar

Sabrina S.

Yelp
This by far is my fav pizza spot in KC! The flavors and the crust it is all 100/10. The owner is such a kind person who always comes to KC events and is so personable about his love for making good pizza in KC. The pizza is more specialized in that it is not basic pizza with just your cheese and pepperoni the pizza is more artisanal with flavors like burgers cheese hot honey and basil.
google avatar

Jeremy W.

Yelp
Two words my friends. Hot. Honey. Whatever psycho invented putting this on pizza is getting a smooch from me. Providence is currently my fav pizza spot in KC. Huge slices. They also have a few Detroit style options for those who like it thicc. Did I mention hot honey? We buy it for friends and clients and everyone is always blown away by these pies. My favorite slice is probably the Margarita with big dollops of fresh mozz and idk if you knew they did this, but hot honey.

Ramsay M.

Yelp
The food was so delicious that my mouth was watering before I even saw it!The service was okay, but the guy at the bar was always busy with the other customers. The building was a very cozy place, with 2 TVs.The location was very nice, because there were lots of shops and restaurants. It got very busy around 6:00 p.m.,so I would suggest that you go around 5:30.The pepperoni pizza was delicious, had too many pepperoni's.Any pizza places are okay ,this one was better than any of them!We don't know if this is one is a chain but the pizza is delicious and better than any of the other pizza places!

C C.

Yelp
I never leave reviews for any business or restaurant. But this place is so good, everyone needs to know about it. I'm someone who loves pizza and tries local places anywhere I go. This is the best pizza I've had. There's another location in Grandview, but it's worth your time to go to the slice shop instead. NY style, Detroit Style, Sicilian, all of it. It's the best pizza I've had ANYWHERE. Do not pass it up.

Curtis T.

Yelp
Incredible place - delicious, authentic Roman pizza. Great, inventive specials - Best in Kansas City.
google avatar

Sam Joy C.

Yelp
WOWWWWWW! Where do I even start? The employee working had the BEST attitude ever. This made my heart happy, especially during the holiday season. The moment we walked in he made sure that we were acknowledged. Providence pizza has so many options of pizzas by the slice. My personal favorite is the Detroit style. Their Detroit of the day was a pepperoni with ricotta + basil. So, of course I had to order two slices. Wanna know what's even better? He asked me if I wanted corner pieces or not? DUH! x2! I seriously can't wait to come back. The pizza has the best flavor + the service is beyond amazing!

Lydia S.

Yelp
The staff seemed stressed but the pizza made up for it. Incredible flavors and big slices for what you pay for. Super worth!

Alex T.

Yelp
Cute little pizza place right in the heart of Westport. Absolutely love everything I have tried here but my favorite is the Detroit style. If you do a slice it comes out very fast and it's perfect before hitting the bars. If you get a whole pizza it takes awhile to make but definitely worth the wait.
google avatar

Robbie H.

Yelp
I was visiting from out of town and was recommended this place by a friend. It's my favorite pizza ever now! It's a small place with only about 4 tables, it's more like a bar to come and go as you walk around Westport. We went on a Thursday, and it was dead. At first, I was worried. Seeing no one there sitting down and eating had me thinking it wasn't the recommendation I hoped it would be. But the person working the front was attentive and friendly. Most orders were Doordash people coming in and out. And when we got our pizza, the Federal, it was everything I wanted in a pizza. Their Detroit style pizza is so good. I will say order an extra thing of marinara, which by the way is amazing. The crust was buttery and really crispy, with that pan pizza goodness. Toppings were plentiful, and the cheese was proportioned perfectly. I wanted maybe a tad more sauce but got a side of it to use to dip like I mentioned. I have to go back when I'm there again!
google avatar

Jamie B.

Yelp
Easily in the top five pizza spots in Kansas City. I'd even say top 3! And we had it delivered. I'm sure fresh it's even better.
google avatar

Veronica K.

Yelp
My husband and I were walking around Westport looking for a place to eat. We didn't know what we were in the mood for but we didn't want a full sit-down meal because we weren't super hungry. We happened to walk by this place and it sounded perfect. The slices were huge and they had so many pizzas to choose from. I got a slice of the East Coast and my husband got a slice of pepperoni. Mine was supposed to have Mozzarella, Italian Sausage, Bacon, Mushrooms, Whipped Ricotta, Red Sauce, Fresh Basil and Hot Honey, but I didn't really see any bacon and couldn't taste much of the hot honey. It was still very yummy, though, and I'd get it again. You can also order a whole pizza. It's New York thin crust but it's still kind of doughy, which I love. The crust was perfectly crunchy in every bite. My husband also got a Peroni beer and was so excited that it only cost $3.52. It was the cheapest dinner ever but it really hit the spot. They also have Detroit style and Sicilian thick crust. I'm so glad we found this place.
google avatar

Emily K.

Yelp
If you want a hefty slice of pizza, look no further than Providence! It's located in the middle of Westport right next to my favorite gay bar and they are open late so it's a great stop for a late night slice. Quick note that the pizzas are sitting out and they will reheat them in the pizza oven when you order. The East Coast slice is perfection - I love the ricotta and hot honey combo! They have NY style and Detroit style. My girlfriend loves the Detroit style! I've been wanting to try the garlic knots for ages too. Make sure to grab a punch card for a free slice reward!
