I rarely review anything, but this was such a disturbing experience I had to say something.
I had walked into a sliding glass door - hard. Not my house, all alone, had forgotten that room used to be outside. Stunned, in pain, grabbed an ice pack then called my husband who told me to go to the ER.
I asked him to stay on the phone with me while I drove, in case I passed out on the way, so I walked into the er holding an ice pack to my face, saying "ok, I made it, oh no, I forgot a mask."
The receptionist, who was so short I didn't see her behind the desk when I walked in, came out from behind the desk, shoved a mask at me and demanded I put it on- while I still am holding an ice pack to my face. When I couldn't figure out how to wear a mask and an ice pack she scolded me for not explaining to her I had injured my nose.
Fast forward to me in the exam room, the first person to come in was a nurse who has her mask below her nose. What??? She was surprised the doctor hadn't seen me yet. It had only a few minutes.
The next person in introduced himself by his first name and then proceeded to check my forehead and eyes. I asked him about my nose and he said he assumed I had hit my head as he checked my nose. Then I told him my teeth hurt, again, he said he assumed I had only hit my forehead and nose. Not a single question about what happened or what hurt.
Then he clarified he is just a PA, not a doctor.
The discharge papers didn't match what he said. After I got that clarified, someone came in to register me and explain that the doctors are independent contractors and bill separately and my insurance may not cover them, please initial here that you understand you may be billed by someone your insurance does not cover. Remember, this is part of my discharge. I wrote "refuse to sign" next to that.
The pharmacy I thought I had confirmed as the place they called it in wasn't open, the pharmacy where they did call it in also wasn't open. Went back to hospital.
Was told by a nurse that she doesn't live in Napa, how is she supposed to know about what pharmacy is open at night.
While sitting there a couple comes in and asks Marie, the receptionist, if she speaks Spanish. She says no, nothing more. No English, too bad, can't help you.
Incompetence and rudeness and no way to get me the Rx the doctor ordered.
And after I got back to where I am staying, the id bracelet slipped off my wrist. They couldn't even get that right.
