I didn't eat. Thought the menu is very interesting. The vibe is the drawing factor. Great date place, for the established couple that needs a "spot" to be very nicely dressed that needy a lofi chill place to get comfortable before the night begins and just breath breathe her words..... you know what I mean. You don't have to be a legend. But you can vibe with your partner here with a wine flight with a handpicked win selection. Wink wink

Great place in Wayland Square to get a light dinner and drink. No hard alcohol drinks are served, but the beer and wine selection is more than adequate. Local live entertainment on Fridays.

Fantastic roast beef and pastrami, and great homemade chips. The other options looked great and I can’t wait to go back and try. So excited this is in Providence now!

Loved the atmosphere. The wine was fantastic. To top it off, they had entertainment (a magician/mentalist) that made the night really memorable. Highly recommend!

Absolutely love this place. Intimate atmosphere with comfortable seating, its a great place to hang out and explore the excellent wine selection. We each got a wine flight and we’re able to try over half of their wine list. The food is excellent as well. We had their cheese and meat board, the gnocchi, and the roasted sweet potato. The server was knowledgeable about their wine selection and personable with the diners. Overall, it was an excellent experience and we will definitely be back!

October, 2023:Just shared a bottle with some friends, sitting outside on a pleasant evening. Good selection and (as usual) good suggestions from the staff. Very enjoyable. Previous meals have been very good - a range of choices, small & large, certainly vegetarian options ( not sure about vegan). Nice place to linger and chat over drinks or a meal.

Was so looking forward to checking this place out. For a wine bar they have very average wines- nothing high end and nothing interesting. Tried several glasses and one of mine was old- bottle had been open too long. Food was uninspired and disappointing. Fun little neighborhood vibe and heard they have live music on the weekends.

I didn't have the best time at Providence Wine Bar. This might sound a little haughty, but hear me out: I can drink wine at home. I can browse a liquor store & pick out a bottle that exactly fits my preferences, my mood, & my budget. I can bring it home & uncork the wine, checking the cork for freshness. I can pull out my special glassware & pour myself a glass of wine & enjoy it on my own couch. So why go out to a wine bar, if not for the wine? For me, it's for the ambience & the experience. Both of those things at Providence Wine Bar were lacking. The lights were too bright (overhead & fluorescent) & the music was too loud (& just bad). The employees seemed both bored & nervous, with not much to do to occupy themselves. I was one of the only people in the bar, so I felt like I was under scrutiny - I'm certain this wasn't intentional but it was unfortunately how it came across. I brought a book but couldn't focus because of the lights & the music. I even caught myself with my fingers in my ears, trying to muffle the sounds of 2010s hyper pop. I have nothing against 2010s hyperpop, it's just that there's a time & place for everything, & maybe that isn't at a wine bar at 8 PM on a Wednesday. I just wanted to be done with my glass of wine so that I could leave. All of that being said, I wish them the best. It seems like they need a good manager's touch.

We have been meaning to come here ever since this place opened but somehow only made it recently although we did come once during Covid when it was almost empty and didn't have anything on which to nibble. After a quick glass of wine we went to dine at the Salted Slate which has the same owner. PWB is just the right size and where one can have a conversation without shouting. The bar is decent and the chairs comfortable. The bartender/server was pleasant and kept an eye on all the tables. The two of us ordered small (2oz) glasses of different wines all of which were good. We shared appetizers of four oysters, the duck breast and the tasty Jamon Iberico. Then shared one of the best Pot de Cremes we have ever had. The cheque came to $112 to which we add the tip. It's somewhat expensive but worth it. Nice to have a wine bar in the neighborhood. We will be back.

I'm going all in because they're new, I like wine, and it's in my neighborhood. Or, as my friend Jeremy said, "They serve wine and good food. Why not five stars?" Owned by the same folks who brought us Salted Slate, this spot is taking over where Mercer's delicatessen used to be. I was walking by one night and suddenly noticed people drinking wine, and wondered, have I been missing something? But they just opened last week. The space is cute- not huge, but intimate seats (more so than say fortnight), a nice bar, and even a few outdoor tables. The wine list offers about 5 choices in each category (Chardonnay, "Laid back and easy", etc) and the descriptions are all intriguing, such as "plum, black current, tobacco." The food menu is more diverse than I expected, including options such as gnocchi (SUPER DELISH, but be warned, there's cilantro in it. This should really be named as an ingredient on the menu so people *ahem, me* can request it not to be added) and whipped ricotta on focaccia, which, apart from being fun to say, was also really delicious. The side salad was salty, and I'm not sure why, but I liked it. It reminded me of Passover Seder, and I saw some parsley in there, so I felt like I was on track. These are the Israelites tears!! In any event, I ate it all. The wines we tried were good. You can order 2oz, 5 oz, a 1/2 bottle or a full bottle. The prices range from manageable to expensive - there's one in which a 2oz pour costs $62, and if I could afford it I'd get it because it sounds divine - so I think there's something for everyone. They also offer a small selection of beer. Desserts: on point. They come from Sin bakery, and I enjoyed my raspberry lemon cake with buttercream frosting. But how could you not?? Kind service, nice vibe. Allie (Ally?) did a great job taking care of us, and Chef Ben was an impressive one man culinary show. I'm looking forward to returning!

This was one of my favorite places in Providence and I recommend it to anyone visiting. The atmosphere was relatively casual but also really cozy. There were people on dates, groups of friends catching up, and families here for dinner - so there was a lot of variety in who was there. The service was really nice, wait staff was pretty quick. I was really happy with the wine selection and options. If you want to try many wines - you could build your own flights with their 2oz options. The food itself was really good too. I got oysters and little necks - both delicious. Would recommend to everyone!

Such a cute wine bar! They had a lot of selections but emphasized which ones were smooth for a beginner to try. We had some of the oysters and bread as well and the oysters were delicious as expected from seafood in Rhode Island. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. Definitely check it out if you want a chill vibe kind of place.

It's very comfortable and pleasant inside. The wine list is organized in a fun way - reds in one side, whites on the other, with the list divided by "body" and a diversity of wines from different geographical areas in each category. I tried a flight of three reds, and our server was extremely helpful in suggesting that I drink up the list instead of down. He was right - I loved the lightest of the varietals. We had a few choices from the food menu. While they were all tasty, they were also smaller than the tapas portions we expected; the cheese and olive plate had - seriously - two slices of manchego. Two. And one piece of bread. There was a mid-sized cup of olives, with nothing to eat them with! The ricotta toast? One chintzy piece of focaccia bread versus the two I expected, but it came with a very tasty small salad. We were all disappointed. It was pleasant, but unexpectedly expensive for three glasses of wine and three teeny snacks. Maybe the food portions will be adjusted in the next few weeks. We can hope, right!

Love the vibe at this place. It's perfect for a date or a small group of friends - it's very quiet here! They have a wide variety of wines you can pick from and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I would recommend getting a flight to get the most for your money. The oysters here are INCREDIBLE and so is the bread - be sure to get some with your order!!

A favourite spot of mine for some vino Was introduced to this wine bar by a fellow classmate and have fallen in love with it ever since. They have a wide variety of wines and the staffs are very accommodating! I am absolutely obsessed with their Jamon Iberico plate, I get it every time I visit. The desserts are also wonderful, I love the fruit tart and the raspberry lemon cake! Definitely a cute cozy intimate spot for dates!!!

Came here last night after hearing from friends I should go. It's a beautiful little place with a great bar and also a few tables outside. Bartender was awesome! Small plates were all delicious. We had bacon wrapped dates (my favorite and not too many places serve them - I would prefer the bacon a little more cooked but the dates were so good), burrata, gnocchi and beets. Nice selection of apps and desserts to pair with the wines. One side has whites, the other reds. Nice selection of lower priced wines. A couple of more expensive but being a wine bar I would like to see a more diverse selection of higher end. Either way it was a very fun experience. Thank you.

Waitress is so cute!! Went there with Qi&Binyi. I had Gnocchi and to be honest, it's only a small bowl. Most of them are potatoes and there's only three little pieces of Italian sausages. Delicious but too little. Wine is good! Reasonable price and good taste!

Gnocchi was so so so delicious! I am glad I read on another post it was spice and asked to hold off on the spice cause this was yummy. A bit on the small proportion side really just a snack. That's how their menu is set up for small snacks since it's a one man kitchen show. The chef was so nice and so helpful to our group with all of our questions. My friends and I came for their first night open and had a great time trying new wines getting to know the staff. They had some wines already run out but it was the first day so still working on the kinks. I would say spacing that night was tight and it's not really a place to go with a big group. Not too many tables that fit more that 2 people but sitting at the bar with 3 or 4 would be fine.

Ambience is nice but really, can you change your menu? How can you serve the same wines day in and day out. Mix it up!!

Cute and cozy. Nice stop to have a glass a wine and catch up with friends. Small but plenty of space at the same time.

Only the best wine bar in the city with the friendliest staff and delicious appetizers and desserts!

The octopus was even better than I thought it would be! Would recommend. This place's vibe, as well as the food, and wine menu were great. Will definitely be going back

One of my favorite spots in PVD! Great if you're super into wine, but also if you're a casual consumer. They label the wines that are crowd pleasers so the menu feels much more accessible than a lot of wine bars, and the prices range dramatically too. The space is really cozy, and the food menu is also excellent! Highly recommend the meats and cheeses as well as the olives and nuts.

Recently opened in my neighborhood. It is owned by the same people that have Salted Slate. Stopped in on Wednesday night for wine and an appetizer before going to dinner. It was great. Tried a rose wine that I really enjoyed and shared the whipped ricotta appetizer with my son. Will definitely return. It is small, quiet and relaxing.

A great spot that I wish more people knew about. Very good atmosphere, with Rhody Related posters lining the walls. I ordered the risotto i funghi as well as the burrata and dates. Prices are worth it for the food/experience. Would go again!

Finally. A real wine bar in Providence. It has a wonderful selection of wine and perfect food selection (including gluten-free items). The owner was there the night we visited and he freely gave his time to explain the wines and food (even though he wasn't there in that capacity). A must try.

The service was excellent and I really enjoyed being able to make my own wine flights. An awesome experience to try out wines, I had wanted to try new things and the bartender was really helpful and knowledgeable. Also the raspberry lemon cake was amazing. I look forward to returning.

I recently went to Salted Slate which was one of my favorite places and had a bad food experience there. The Providence Wine Bar and Salted Slate have the same owner. I do not know what is going on with Salted Slate because Providence Wine Bar felt like a completely different and separate establishment. Let me preach to you about the amazingness of the Providence Wine Bar. I went with a friend and we had the ricotta on bread, the gnocchi, the lemon raspberry cake, and fruit tart. EVERYTHING was good. The ricotta on bread was light and delicious and the bread was perfectly toasted. The greens were also seasoned which was a plus (most places just throw them on the plate so I appreciate that they dressed them a tad). The gnocchi was nice as well (this is definitely a small plate portion so keep that in mind) and the sausage bits were lovely. While the small savory entrees were nice enough, the stars of the night were the lemon raspberry cake and the fruit tart. We were scrapping the plate they were so good. The cake had a strong lemon flavor and the icing was not overly sweet. I wish I could order a whole cake instead of a slice. The fruit tart was delicious as well (we loved the shortbread crust) but the custard was a bit runny (still scrape your plate good though) Wine wise? Great as well! They have a good selection and four different sizes to order (2 oz, 5 oz, 1/2 bottle, or a bottle). This would be a great place to try multiple wines in small glasses. Already planning a desserts and wine night for another day. Totally recommend this as a place to stop by after a group dinner with friends. I enjoyed Mercer's Deli (same ownership) but PVD Wine Bar is even better!

So pleased with everything at Providence Wine Bar! Our bartender Ali was extremely informative and her recommendations hit the spot! Great service! We ended up getting several courses of small plates /raw bar because we couldn't help it! Loved the vibe. Mango cheesecake was great too! Extensive wine list! Available in all pours. We will be coming back!

I'm not a foodie and I like most dishes but this is the first time I felt inspired to write a review. Sadly the menu is not what it used to be. The charcuterie board meat was incredibly over salted and lacked diversity. The swordfish was actually delightful and i recommend that dish. We were excited to have a restaurant where we could sit outside but overall our experience was not what we expected. The wine was good as well but i greatly miss the old menu. It should be noted that things probably changed due to covid, but we hope to have the old wine bar back soon!

Amazing wine selection, superb small plates and extremely warm, relaxed bar atmosphere. Best addition to Wayland Square yet!!

This is a great place to come to .we've been here several times however every single time they have been short-staffed and we have been late for our dinner reservation because of it at a nearby restaurant.

have yet to eat there, but given the givens, have no reason not to expect the best. What I can tell you is that the service last Friday (and every Friday) was excellent; bartenders are lovely. friendly without being smarmy. just kind and very very very good at their jobs. A++ will go again; looking forward to bringing a friend for a meal there soon.
