Recently ordered 2 large charcuterie platters for a party. Huge success. 2 fed our 50 guests as an appetizer. Pricey but sooo worth it. Our guests devoured them and raved about the quality of the cheeses and meats. ❤️❤️🧀❤️❤️

Google
Definitely an excellent place for a wide variety of cheeses/charcuterie items, wines, sake, meads, and other unique libations!

This is truly a place to find culinary treasures! Extremely well-trained and educated staff. Everyone is friendly. All products are good quality or extremely good quality. Diversity of beverages, cheese, meats, and snacks!

Google
Love provisions. I've been shopping here for a bunch of years. It's great for getting gifts but even better for buying stuff for yourself. Amazing cheese, a baguette from tarte, a bottle of wine and a pint of Jeni's ice cream and you're all set for an amazing dinner. I also really like the ravioli in the frozen section that comes from New Hampshire. Wine selection is perfect - lots of choice but not overwhelming and you can't go wrong.

Google
Friendly and helpful staff, wide selections of beer, wines, liquors and non-alcoholic options. Lots of various snacks and tasty pairings for your beverages too!

Google
This place has awesome wines, craft beers and cheeses. The staff had always been helpful and friendly. They have frequent free tastings and they also have many paid events. They range from fairly reasonably priced to kind of pricey, at least for my wallet. I highly recommend checking out their website and maybe signing up for their email list. You'll get more and better information from them, than I could possibly explain. Also, the wine selection is immense for such a moderate space and they have everything for everyone's palates and wallet. Their craft beer section is great and they also carry brands that I haven't seen at other locations.

Yelp
Provisions is where I go when I want to treat myself to a food shopping adventure. Best by choice of cheeses and meats. Crazy knowledgeable folks at the counter. They work with the customer to get it right. Fun treats and spreads. Spend time looking around. You won't be sorry.

Yelp
A terrific wine and cheese place plus charcuterie plus snacks plus craft beer and more plus great folks in downtown Northampton. We popped in to grab cheese, but got so much more - a cheese education, cheese tastes, and a HUGE selection of wines from all over the globe. This is the way it SHOULD BE - can't even do this in NY...cannot provide food and alcohol at retail. And to to off this wonderful shopping experience, the wifi and payment system went down...the entire staff worked diligently and, unnecessarily, gave us a discount for our truly minor inconvenience. We loved the cheeses - a Vermont Camembert from Blythedale Farm (semi soft creamy cow's milk cheese) a terrific blue cheese BAYLEY HAZEN BLUE from Jasper Hill Farm (high-quality whole raw milk) - and boy was this good - and finally, the goats milk (forgive my lost info). The blue killed. Go enjoy, ship, taste , buy

Yelp
Placed an order (proved credit card info) for a Charcuterie board to be delivered as a gift. They were going to call me back to confirm the delivery time. They never called back so I called them the next day. They couldn't find my order and told me they would try to call the person who took the order and call me back. They called me back to tell me they couldn't fulfill order because they were too busy!!!! They literally took my order and payment. There was no question on whether they could do it. They weren't going to call me to tell me?!!! I asked for the owner to call me back. They wouldn't give me his name. I googled ir amd found owner, Benson Hyde. I left him a message on linkedin/instagram as well. Benson called me the next morning (the day the charcuterie board was supposed to be delivered). He never apologized, told me employees followed instructions not ro provide his name, and that "it looked like we were both in a pickle" and there was nothing he could do. I told him if I was the owner, I would deliver the charcuterie board myself given the order was placed and accepted and given the poor customer service. He responded he was "busy opening up a second store." What an awful response from a business owner! I would never purchase anything from them again.

Yelp
Super knowledgeable (and kinda cute tbh) staff. Endless options but they make it super easy to talk through, I love asking for advice on what bottle of wine to bring to a party. Beer selection to satisfy any craft beer enthusiast. And don't even get me started on how incredible their cheese counter is. Currently obsessed with the Hudson Valley Camembert. Seriously go check it out. I could wander there for hours and keep myself entertained.

Yelp
I have shopped here at least 25-30 times. Provisions is great. The staff has always been very helpful and courteous. Provisions is a real gem. The variety of wine and craft beer available for sale is exceptional. When I have been shopping here for wine, between the selection at Provisions, and the staff or my Vivino app, ...I have never walked out of there without an interesting, delicious and well priced bottle. They have wines that range from 10$ to 100$+. All are good! I have purchased many different craft beers as well ...and the selection is almost as wide as the wine selection. Provisions has vendors of different wines or beers in very often so you can sample something new and talk to the manufacturer. For example, they had someone representing Moldavian wines in once, which I sampled and loved, so I bought a bottle. Last but not least, the food selection is very gourmet oriented. I have purchased some of the cheeses and also never been disappointed. Provisions is a well run business. The management is smart and the collection of "provisions" is eclectic, cool and TASTY! Go check it out for something exceptional and different. Feel free to let the staff assist you - they will be happy to do so. The staff is really very knowledgeable. A+ for you Provisions.

Hakimeh Z.

Yelp
Very disappointing, they sold me a very old baguette, then when I call to complain she offered me $ 3.75. it is unfortunate. I am wondering if they talk to white people the same way. They claim the bread is only two days old, which is not valid. I did see any sign saying the Baguettes are days old. Oh, well, they lost my $$$; I will not put my feet in this store; I make sure everyone knows how they treat the customer. It should be a negative star.

Candace D.

Yelp
As we hunker down for the coronavirus, low and behold when I reached out to Benson at Provisions he told me they COULD deliver to us. Normally I'd never do that but these are not normal times. He and I chatted via email and BINGO he delivered a case of wine!! With a 6 mix bottle 10% discount too. HIGHLY recommended given how helpful they were, how kind and Benson delivered the box on his way home!!! IF shops have what you need/want, NOW is the time to support our local businesses!

Yelp
We love this place. My husband and I lived in Northampton briefly 7 years ago, and we were so excited to be back for a visit and see Provisions is still going strong. Instead of walking from our apartment, we walked from our hotel and sadly could not stock up on EVERYTHING we wanted since we'll be flying home in a couple days. But seriously, I could've loaded my wine rack and beer fridge with many delights from here. My husband said, "I can't believe it, but their beer selection has gotten even better." So many unique options and beers you've never known you've always wanted. The same is true for wine--separated by country, type, and a less than $15 wall which I find very helpful to grab a last minute bottle when you don't want to break the bank. Also, the charcuterie!!! Oh the boards you could make with these delectables. Come here to stock up for a dinner party when we can have those again or just to spice up your weekend with a trip around the world, drink style.

Lauren K.

Yelp
Northampton has been surprising me non-stop. Provisions helped seal the deal. This is one of the best cellar/pantry shops I have ever visited. Add this to the list of places in New England where you can just leave me here all day and i'll be happy. On a rainy day, we stopped in and joined the complimentary wine tasting happening at the front of the store. We sampled 6 wines and ended up taking home the Mayu, a reasonably priced white wine from Chile. We had a lovely time learning about each of the wines available for purchase in the store. My photos don't do it justice, but the wine here is beautifully organized and extends in neatly packed rows as far as the eye can see. You could spend hours perusing their deep and creative selections. After choosing our wine, we visited the meat and cheese counter, where they actually have photos of the cows and farmers that made the cheese. How stinkin' cute is that! We purchased two cheeses from Vermont farmer Fritz Gerber and wife (I swear I didn't make that name up) and their cow, Pretty Lady. I can't say i've ever been able to know the origins of my cheese! The gals at the counter were super helpful and entertained all of our questions while giving us generous samples. They also were excited to share photos of the farmers who made the cheeses. Their pantry is well-stocked with anything you could ever need to make the charcuterie board or dinner of your dreams. I love, love this place so much, that I honestly can't wait to visit the next time i'm in town. Do yourself a favor and visit Provisions!

Yelp
My go-to wine/beer/cheese place in Northampton! They have a good selection of wines, beers, sour beers, cheese bar, and other artisanal foods. The employees are almost always super friendly and helpful when you ask for recommendations within a price range. However, I did have an annoying encounter last time I was there with the girl behind the cheese counter. She ignored me while I patiently waited and tried to help everyone except me. Luckily, the person who was behind me told her that I had been waiting. Then, while she was helping me she was pretty snobby and condescending about the types of cheeses that I didn't know. Either way, that experience was very unusual as the people there are usually great. It wouldn't stop me from going again. But, I hope I don't have to interact with her again.

Karen W.

Yelp
Marguerite was absolutely amazing on the phone. My husband is staying in town for his birthday while on a 5,000 mile hike. Once I received his hotel info, Alena and Marguerite were able to put a great meat and cheese package together for Benson to deliver last minute! What an incredible service they did for us! Thank you!

Jill S.

Yelp
This shop is wonderful. They have an amazing selection of craft beer, both local and from all over, as well as wine and other beverages. The cheese counter has a wide variety of raw milk cheeses, including sheep and goats milk as well as cow. They also had some other things that are generally hard to find, such as duck prosciutto or French olives. The woman who was working at the cheese counter was great with giving us more information on the different cheeses and meats, and gave us some samples to help us decide. There's a big shelf by the cheese counter with tons of different jams, condiments, spreads, and other gourmet foods. The cashier up front was really knowledgeable about the craft beer, and also friendly and helpful. This store is a perfect place to pick up food or drinks for a picnic or a party, but if I lived here, I'm sure I'd be shopping here all the time.

Mary S.

Yelp
I mean how can you go wrong with a store full of wine and cheese... you just can't! I was very surprised when my bachelorette party was lead here for an amazing wine tasting. Benson, the owner, what our wine connoisseur for the afternoon and he did not disappoint with his options. He was very informative and answered all of our questions. You can tell his passion for his work. They keep you on record so if you can't remember a certain bottle of wine you got three trips ago they can look that up for you. Everyone that works there is an expert. All you need to do is describe what you are looking for and they will offer a sample to help you find exactly what you want.

Candace D.

Yelp
It only gets better with Benson and Provisions as the pandemic goes on and on. Not only do they do delivery with mask on, they are very helpful at selecting wines for us. I couldn't be happier with the company, and would continue with them if and when the pandemic passes.

Greg T.

Yelp
What a great location. Has hundreds of beers and wines to choose from in all price ranges and categories. Excellent selection of gourmet items to outfit a picnic or party. Makes me wish I could have spent more time in Northampton.

Sandra C.

Yelp
The Malbec I purchased here was exceptional. The gentleman who helped me truly knows how to pick wine out in your purchasing price range. ** Had dinner next door at SooRa and was walking back to my car when I glanced into huge plate glass windows and a cavernous room filled with wine racks. Went in and talked to the the owner (a rather hot guy with silver hair) and he recommended two red wines in my price range. Both sit in my wine cabinet now. We shall see upon tasting them if his recommendations were sound.

Rohan D.

Yelp
The Chief of Staff couldn't pass this store up, I'm glad we went in. The staff is very helpful, she had them chill a rose for her while we went to lunch, on the way back to the hotel we picked up her wine and I got a delicious ice cider which disappeared too quickly. An excellent selection of wine, beer, and related products, from mid-range to oh-my-gosh-that's-a-lot-of-money pricing, displayed in a very convenient and logical manner. Good for browsing or finding what you know you want quickly. I got a souvenir bottle to bring back home, and the fellow checking me out packed it so well it survived O'Hare baggage handling.

Giovanni Q.

Yelp
Went to their Amherst Location. Staff made for a dreadful experience, would go again if I wanted to waste $ on a non GT-kombucha. Obscure selection of products nobody buys twice. Felt like a gambling type of shopping experience. Meh

C L.

Yelp
Really cute place with wide selection! I am a huge cheese fan and they have some great ones along with some local ones I am excited to try. Will definitely stop here again

Chelsea T.

Yelp
Every semester, I look forward to the different open houses Provisions hosts! So far I've been to the Champagne, Summer and Rose Open Houses. They're a great way to try many different wines and find out what you like without blowing your budget. I've also went to one of their Southern Italy tasting class and it was really knowledgeable learning about the different tasting notes and flavors. Besides the awesome selection of wine, there's also a number of cool gourmet food items for sale and an extensive choice of cold cuts/cheese. A trip to Northampton is never complete without a trip to Provisions! Am a little sad that I won't be in PV after graduation to visit often.

Emily C.

Yelp
Certainly one of the more impressive stores I've been to in a while. The exhaustive selection of wines, craft beers, and specialty food items here is unparalleled - I can't think of anything in CT that even comes close to comparing. My beer geek boyfriend MORE than geeked out while perusing the brew aisles, and found a niiiiice limited Drie Fonteinen Oude Geuze Golden Blend. I left with a few Saison du buff bottles (in both Victory AND Dogfish Head bottles!), which I hoard now that they're supposedly a seasonal brew. Used to be a limited edition collaboration. The charcuterie and cheese counters boast a ridiculous selection. Truffled EVERYTHING. Plus Olive oils, specialty chocolates, baking items, and tons of specialty grocery items throughout the store. While we were in the store, they were hosting a mead tasting. Good stuff. I wish it was closer, as they host in-store tastings and seminars on a weekly basis.

Ellen S.

Yelp
I just want to say that every other time I have gone in here I have gotten really great service except last night. I walk in to get some cider on my way to a friends house and the only man working is gabbing on his cell phone at the counter. I explore alone then come back with my choice of beverage. STILL he is talking on his phone while he checks me out. Then he asks me if I want my penny change? Probably my number one pet peeve. Yes thank you that is my money not yours. Only a penny but still. I really am disappointed that they had such a rude man there, everyone else I have interacted with has been very pleasant, helpful and friendly. You won't find Liquors 44 employees on their phone while checking you out. What does that say about this specialty shop??

Pete W.

Yelp
A brilliant addition to downtown Northampton. The beer and wine selection is excellent and constant tastings have helped me find several bottles that I now love that I never knew about before. But the thing that really sets Provisions apart is the meat and cheese counter. Friendly, knowledgeable staff help get the perfect compliments to your beverage choice and honestly, the fact that this place is so easy to get to is terrible news for my budget. Ugh. But with a HUGE smile and appreciation for the good stuff in life. Thanks Provisions!

Kay M.

Yelp
Stopped by here to pick up some wine or beer for dinner at a byob place nearby. I was pumped to walk in to a wine tasting- I thought, "awesome, I'll try something out and buy it for dinner." That was a great plan except for the fact that the guy running the wine tasting barely acknowledged me. I was 1 of 4 people at the bar and the middle aged dude behind the bar spent all of his time with the other 3 middle aged dudes at the bar. So, f that- I decided not to buy any wine. I would have left but I needed booze, especially after that experience. I will say that the other guy working the floor-really tall and 20 something guy was actually very attentive and helpful. And the girl working the register- another 20 something- was also really nice and helpful. Guess i'll stick to my own demographic.

Lisa N.

Yelp
I've only been to provisions once: at Christmas time when I was desperate for some pancetta and absolutely nobody had any. But one of the guys behind the deli counter went out of his way to help me find a good substitute...above and beyond service with a smile, which is so rare these days. They have a pretty great cheese, beer and wine selection as well. What a gem!

Judith M.

Yelp
The bomb. Yes, it looks pricey- no, it actually isn't! Wide range of options, from opulent to utilitarian. GO.

Aaron T.

Yelp
I asked when the lardo was going to be restocked, they asked me if I'd like to be emailed when it arrives--pure class. Top notch food/drink curation in an well-organized, clean/modern setting. Fancy beer, curated wine, fromage, charcuterie, high-end pasta + pantry items--and not overpriced. Friendly, helpful staff, too. I'll be a regular.

Rachel L.

Yelp
Any place that I can patronize and leave with a box full of random craft beers, wine, speck and sweet potato flour is a keeper! A wonderful spot to browse and find something new. Employees are great & knowledgeable. A plus for Northampton!

Emily B.

Yelp
After a disappointing champagne explosion due to freezing temps, I found this place on Yelp while on a quick vacation to Northampton. It's one of those places that you step into and are immediately overwhelmed if you don't already know the layout. That being said, an extensive selection of fine wines and beer isn't really a bad thing. They have a number of local, tasty ciders, which was awesome to see since this is an area that's not always present in stores like this. I was also impressed to see a selection of meads to choose from. Coming from Maine, I enjoyed the number of quality options from my state. It's nice that a few local favorites are getting some recognition out of town. There is one huge room for wine, another for beer - it would be difficult to leave this place without something tasty. We were approached by staff more than once asking if we needed any help, and I'm sure they're knowledgable about their offerings. Prices ranged from reasonable to way more money than I could justify spending on a bottle, but if that's your thing they've certainly got you covered. As far as I could tell, this isn't where you want to go for the cheap stuff. In the end, we left with a bottle of champagne to celebrate the new year and a tasty coconut chocolate stout.

Carolyn M.

Yelp
I know little to nothing about wines or alcohol in general, but was with a friend who knows his wine and wanted to check out the selection on a recent trip to northampton. What a large selection this place has, with friendly staff to boot! I was also surprised that not only did they have a great wine section, they also had a great beer selection as well. Even more shocking, was that they had Innis and Gunn beer- from Scotland. The same beer I lugged all the way FROM Scotland to share with my brother, who loves his beer. That made me happy to see!! My friend wanted to see what prize wines they had in their basement selection and we needed an employee to accompany us downstairs. I didn't catch his name, but there was a nice (tall!!) guy working there who helped us out! Holy old wines, batman! My friend, one day, wants to buy an old (expensive) wine to try- just to compare, and I'm sure we'll be back here to buy!

Liliana C.

Yelp
As others have said, the customer service is great. We have found them to be really helpful and friendly, giving suggestions in their small (but really jam-packed!) beer section. Sign up for their newsletter to find out about weekly tastings--we go a lot, and it's always fun!

Lisa B.

Yelp
Great wine and cheese shop! Wide selection of wine and staff who know their stock and enjoy helping customers.

Danielle K.

Yelp
Amazing store! Gourmet and lovely. It's got a great collection of ciders I explored, many of which I had never seen before. The tea is amazing. They have a huge selection from Harney and Sons. It's located across the street from the Northampton train station. Definitely go in if you're looking for something nice like a gift or just to indulge for yourself. I hear they have cider tastings sometimes :P

ChristiAnn V.

Yelp
I just came here from California to visit my dad. For some reason, I thought I would never find a good wine shop ever again, so I packed my suitcase with a few bottles of wine. I was so pleased to find this place. They have a good selection of California, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and even a few local wines. There's a refrigerated section with beer and wine too. The prices are overall decent with a few exceptions. Part of the store has really great gourmet food items. Truffle oil, pasta, baking supplies, etc. They also have a nice cheese counter. This place is the one-stop-shop for whatever special occasion you may have.

Chris W.

Yelp
This is a great place to poke around and pick up a special beer or wine. The prices are about $1-$3 more than surrounding stores, but your guaranteed to walk out with something you'll love. There is also a nice selection of foods to accompany your alcoholic beverage of choice. They do need more gluten free offerings in the food dept. as they have plenty of GF beers.

Carl B.

Yelp
Mouth-watering drinks and food at every turn, with lots we'd never seen before. Wish we were in the area for longer and in position to stock up.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Ooo this hidden gem needs more attention! I do love this place, its got a Fantastic wine selection a really awesome beer collection and ice cream...and chocolate...and everything else. So I completely geeked out as soon as I step foot here, I mean the layout is so inviting you just feel relaxed and calm. I was a little lost looking around the wine racks trying to search for something particular, that as it turns out they didn't have, but never fear something better was here! I can't complain about their prices either, they have everything from cheap to moderately expensive to hmm this is a special occasion expensive to omg I just got a promotion lets celebrate expensive, in terms of their wine. I'm a wine nut, my boyfriend is a beer nut so its like this store was made for us. What's really cool about this shop is the email..rewards? program where the keep a listing of everything that you buy .So let's say you had a great beer a few months ago but can't remember what it was called? They have it all on a file for you so you can refer back to it. How great is that, this is something that I struggle with every time I go into a wine store and think, what did I like? What was that one wine called again? They take that all away from me, and I couldn't be happier. Now the reason why to me this is a 5 star place is because the employee that I chatted with went above and beyond the call of duty. I went up to the register with a small bottle of wine asking if they had a bigger size somewhere since it wasn't placed with any others like it. He looked it up and apologized and said no they were out of stock and the bottle I had was the last one, he told me price and I went back to browsing. A few minutes later I hear a, " Miss, here's something similar to the one you've got." I looked over and there was a bottle of wine with a brand I had never heard of in his hands. I thanked him and started reading the bottle over and decided what I had was enough for me. I went into the beer area and started browsing some more when he came back over and said, " Would you be interested in our supplier's card? Maybe he can get you the wine in the large size". Um....YES please and he just scored himself a customer for life for offering that. Even though I have the supplier's card I'm going back here for the awesome service and experience. Since signing up for their email reward like program I've gotten notices about wine and beer tastings, I plan on attending one or them all as soon as I can and will report back with my findings. I hope my next experiences will somehow top my last.

Yelp
Provisions is one of the best things to ever happen to Northampton. It's by far the best gourmet food shop and wine store that I've ever been to. You won't find any of those strange pseudo-gourmet brands and I thank god it doesn't have the undeservedly stuffy atmosphere that is the plague of typical "gourmet food stores." You can tell that every single item has been carefully selected because of its quality. I love that I always have a place where I can find Dufour puff pastry and Jeni's ice cream. They also have the most expansive collection of cured meats and cheeses you'll find in Western Mass. The wine selection is incredible. I've never been disapointed in a wine I've bought there. Even if you only want to spend $8 - $10 on a bottle, there are plenty of varieties to choose from. I love that they carry so many Spanish and Portuguese wines. The beer selection is also great - there is an entire wall devoted to sour beers! They carry many local varieties as well as really hard to find beers (they were the only Western Mass carrier of the Westvleteren XII release in 2012). The staff is so nice and really knowledgeable. It's a very welcoming place.

Yelp
This is a really great addition to town. I got some holiday shopping out of the way here, great snacks and wine for later and will definitely back next time i'm having company over. PROVISIONS!

Sacha G.

Yelp
Great selection of beer and wine, with a few amazing cider options as well. The staff are always friendly and eager to help you find something within your price range. Great spot for loading up for a picnic or dinner party as they also have a wide selection of cheeses and other goodies.

Gavin R.

Yelp
Damm I like the wine selection at this store, almost as much as I like the cheese case and the other "provisions", haha. But a rather nice store with excellent stinky cheese and as my child says, "you can taste it with your nose and smell it with your mouth". Kids are great!

Nikki G.

Yelp
I exclaimed to my husband, out loud, "Oh my f*cking god this place is so beautiful I'm gonna cry". I was over come. It reminds me of Citarella in nyc or Wine Source by our old home in Baltimore. It had the stuff I would be looking for and a million fun new things to find out about. I am in love. If I had $ I would be plotting how best to fall in love on the regular with this establishment.

Scott P.

Yelp
Pretty cool place I stumbled upon (wasn't drunk) while walking back to my car in the parking lot. Seen the words cheese and craft beer on the side of the building and had to investigate. Immediately impressed upon entering with different levels, nooks, shelves, and displays of all things wine & beer to explore. Specialty Cheeses, meats, foods, mostly upscale and pricey, but worth a look. Natural & organic, local & imported, they have a bit of everything. I doubt you'll leave empty-handed.

Jessika M.

Yelp
This place is my dream come true, a fantastic cheese selection (many local), cured meats and terrines, a great beer, and even better wine selection. They also have a speciality food section that is pretty extensive, including truffles and duck fat. This is a great addition to downtown NoHo!

Patty S.

Yelp
Charcuterie and cheese selections are high quality - the staff is friendly and knowledgable - stopped in 90 minutes into our road trip and they sliced the cheese into serving pieces for us - the grilled artichokes and baguette were perfection, and a great baguette is hard to fine!

Courtney R.

Yelp
Provisions is a classy, upscale specialty food and wine store. The wine selection is excellent and it is clean as a whistle. The specialty food section has an uber european feel and they stock many exciting, hard to find items.

Stephen S.

Yelp
The staff is amazing, as is the selection of cheese, wine and beer. One of my favorite places to go in town. I recommend getting some cheese, prosciutto and a bottle of wine, then going to hungry ghost bread and making a meal out of it.

Jam S.

Yelp
A wonderful addition to Northampton. Well stocked craft beers, snacks, wines, and other goodies like the grass fed ice cream makes this place top notch. The owners and staff are friendly, polite, and personable, and relish in talking about food and spirits. Suggested purchases: A L'olivier olive oil (in a ceramic jar) Jeni's ice Cream Unbound pickles Speck from the meat counter

Annie I.

Yelp
thank god i don't live in noho because i would spend my entire paycheck on gourmet cheese and cider and natural sprinkles and shit. this place is a foodie's dream.
