Cute, Quaint, and Peaceful!!! We absolutely loved the Prytania Park Hotel. It wasn't located right in the "hustle and grind" of New Orleans, but (being less than 2 miles away) it was PERFECTLY close enough to catch the bus and/or streetcar right to Canal Street, Bourbon St and (walking distance) to the French Quarter/Market and Riverwalk (FYI - $1.25 per ride OR $3.00 for an all day bus pass). We were there the weekend right after Thanksgiving giving (which was the Bayou Classic weekend). May I say, what a DEAL on this room. It was REALLY nice, cozy and clean. An added bonus, not only was the breakfast FREE, but so was the PARKING...YOU CANNOT BEAT THAT! Lastly, the customer service...it was the TOTAL PACKAGE of customer care, kindness, and professionalism (If I'm not mistaking, I think the names of the ladies were Ms. Lee and Tia). If you ever in the Big Easy, do not hesitate to give this hotel a try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Thank you Prytania Park Hotel. Hope to be back one day SOON!

The location of the hotel is absolutely awesome because it’s right near everything such as Bourbon St., Canal, even a Walmart was less than like 10 minutes away so I recommend it for that but I did not appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms and the sheets were awful. My friends and I spent about 35 minutes sanitizing the room before we can even get comfortable. The rooms are built like a two story apartment which looks cool but the air conditioning was only on the lower floor so it was absolutely hot up there.

Check in and check out was quick and courteous. We got lots of friendly advice about the area and riding the street cars from the desk guy (didn't get his name, but drives a nice ride!). The location is right off St. Charles, right at a streetcar stop...so super convenient. It's within walking distance to the WWII Museum and plenty of good food options. The room itself stayed cool and had all the basics (microwave, mini fridge, dresser, armoire, TV, etc...). Our room has a second bed in a loft which was kind of cool. The beds were comfy and we had good night's sleep. The only thing that wasn't good was the toilet had draining issues...it took several flushes most times. We informed one of the cleaners who seemed to already be aware of the issue (room #237); but was not fixed prior to our departure. Oh and there's really not a good view from any of the rooms; which wasn't a big deal for us. Continental breakfast is available and is good for what it is (English muffins, cereal, yogurt, fruit cups, etc...). Nothing hot though. We had a great stay!

The receptionist was amazing, we felt she really went the extra mile for us. She even let us check in early which we really appreciated. Parking was super easy and convenient. Room was clean, had plenty of towels and toiletries provided. They had shower caps, soap, lotion, mouthwash and makeup remover wipes. My only complaint is that it was hard to sleep with the footsteps in the room above us. This can’t really be helped and obviously depends on the upstairs stayers. We have discussed and agreed that if we ever return to Nola this place will be our first pick for stays.

Google
This is a fun little hotel for something different. Rooms are small, except my kids were thrilled to have their own beds in the loft (rather than sharing a queen as in a typical hotel.) The ambiance is quaint. Location near St Charles street car was wonderful. "Expanded continental" breakfast is more than the prepackaged muffins I expected with cereals, granola, yogurt, etc, but it is not a full breakfast. We parked our car for cruise week, and I was impressed with the fenced, lit and secured lot. There are small reasons it is not a perfect hotel, but I had read reviews, knew what I was going to and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Google
Great staff. The room was clean and I loved the loft that gave us our personal space. Loved the free parking with a security guard. Made me feel safe. Simple breakfast. Very close to many fun activities. And you can’t beat the prices period. Plenty towels, cold AC, you can buy snacks inside, they even have makeup remover and other things they set out for you. They have an ironing board, blow dryer, tv, microwave, and a fridge. I will definitely be coming back.

Google
Moderately sized rooms but they had very comfortable beds. Not too firm and soft enough for a side sleeper. The staff was very friendly and accommodating of our needs. You could hear a little bit of noise through the door but it was quiet and I had no trouble sleeping. The staff was very accommodating when we asked to come back to our room hours later looking for some forgotten earrings. They happily went with us to search and we found them!! It has a great location that made the city very accessable via the streetcar. It is also near to distilleries and a number of local bars. We went to the French quarter, Magazine Street and the Garden District without needing to drive.

Google
I thought this was the perfect location to stay the weekend before our cruise, and it didn't disappoint. The rooms are clean, and the linens smelled fresh and clean. It's very close to the Streetcar, like a 3 minute walk. We used that to get to the FQ. It's close to the cruise port. The girl who checked us in was very nice. My teen girls loved having the loft area upstairs with their own beds and not having to share a queen. They have an outdoor area that is covered, so if you want to sit outside your room and smoke you can, although I didn't see anyone smoking, just gathering and talking. I'm not a super picky person, I don't complain about things like the bathroom fan being noisy, or a spot of peeling paint on the door frame. I feel a lot of the time bad reviews come from people who expect a Hilton experience, on a red roof inn budget.

Yelp
We originally booked here because of their stay/park/cruise package. We ended up dropping the cruise package and just stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and then parked at the port during the cruise. The staff at the hotel quickly took care of changing our reservation without any issues. Having the beds on separated floors made it nice for having 4 adults in one room. The spiral staircase took a little getting used to, since I hadn't been on one since I was like 5... it all worked out! We slept well - not sure if it was because of the long drive or if the beds were just that comfy. :) The room included amply counter space near the bathroom sink. Also, near the sink were the mini refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. We didn't expect much for breakfast, but we were happy with their selection. We enjoyed english muffins, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, coffee and orange juice. Enough to get us started for the day! Parking is in a secure flat lot with security at the entrance all night long. We parked our vehicle here for two nights and did not have any issues. The security guy had quite the sense of humor as well. :) Parking is included -- that is unheard of for most hotels around New Orleans! This hotel is one block away from the St. Charles Street Car, which will take you right to Bourbon Street - so convenient. There are also quite a few restaurants and bars located around the hotel. We never felt unsafe walking around this part of town (the Garden District). Can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
Wonderful boutique hotel located in the Garden District! I booked my reservation directly on the hotel's website for a colleague's wedding. Despite the wedding being rescheduled several times due to COVID-19 and weather calamities, they were able to honor the reservation. The property is in a good location, away from the craziness of the French Quarter. The French Quarter is easily accessible by a streetcar line (St. Charles & Melpomene stop) and two bus stops (O.C. Haley & M.L. King and Camp & Terpsichore). Parking is available in a fenced lot, and there is a security guard on duty. Checking-in is easy as they had my reservation on file and the front desk staff was very friendly. My room was a Charming Old World Standard. It is a relatively small room, and can accommodate two people. There are no elevators at this facility so accessibility may be a challenge for those who need it. The room is furnished with a full-sized bed, wardrobe closet, end table, chest of drawers, and work desk. The furnishings are jaded but still in serviceable condition. Air conditioning seems to be controlled by the front desk and there is a ceiling fan in the room. There is an LCD TV but the cable box is dangling and only supported by the wiring. The room also has a coffee maker with Community Coffee available, a microwave oven, and a clothes iron with board. Reliable WiFi is available throughout the facility. The bathroom is rather small with a shower stall, but is clean and has plenty of towels and toiletries. Housekeeping was available after my first evening but they did not do my room after the second night--which was Easter Sunday so they may not have that service available on holidays. There is a basic continental breakfast setup available each morning at 7:00 am. Basic is the key word here--don't expect a gourmet breakfast but something just to kickstart your morning. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the Prytania Park Hotel, and it will certainly be a place I would go back to the next time I am in New Orleans!

Yelp
We were very happy with our stay at Prytania Park Hotel. For one, it has on site parking without an extra fee and the overall price of the stay was super competitive and affordable. The check in and check out process were as easy as can be. The room, while not HUGE, was more than enough for us and included a coffee pot, fridge, and microwave. Those things are not in more than half of the rooms I book these days. The water pressure in the shower was great and the water was always hot. There's a window AC unit that kept things cool and provided a little extra noise cancellation at night but to be honest, this was the quietest hotel I have stayed in in years. I never heard a peep from our neighbors and definitely didn't hear any noise from the street. Most importantly, it feels safe and secure here and we never worried coming or going. The location was great, within walking distance of several restaurants and bars in the Garden District as well as 2 blocks or so from a streetcar stop. The complimentary breakfast is nothing to write home about and I wish they didn't use so much Styrofoam and plastic, but with amazing food at every corner of the city why fill up on poptarts or fruitcups anyway? I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever back in NOLA.

Yelp
I love this hotel. I was caught up in the Southwest Airlines debacle over the Christmas/New Years holiday and had to extend my stay. I felt so welcome and taken care of. I am an older woman; had been traveling with my son and his family, but they weren't stuck. So I was in the city on my own for a couple of days. It was hugely satisfying to be in a place where I was known. Felt so comfortable and welcome. And, even not in an emergency situation, the hotel is superb. Great location in the Garden District, just a block from the street car. Charming rooms, with a real New Orleans feel. Gracious staff. Reasonable prices. Free parking and wi-fi. This is my first choice of hotels when visiting New Orleans.

Yelp
The quaint little hotel was located in the Garden District. I was pleasantly surprised during my stay here. The room was nice, clean, and quiet. The room came with a mini fridge, microwave oven, and a coffee maker. I picked this place because it was located very far away from all of the craziness of Bourbon Street. It was conveniently located to a lot of restaurants on St. Charles Avenue. They served a complimentary breakfast each morning. If the wild party scene isn't your thing, you might want to stay here instead of the French Quarter.

Yelp
Agree more with the good reviews than the bad. The rooms are a bit small even with the extra bed in the loft. There's not a great way to eat for 4 people. There's a desk with a chair but no real table. So even though you have beds for 4 and a mini fridge and a microwave, there's only 2 chairs. The beds are firm but clean. The bathroom also was clean despite some reviews to the contrary. Room was a bit damp and musty and the continental breakfast was sad Dry english muffins, instant grits and dole fruit cups. Skip it and go somewhere nearby. The location is great. Lula's, literally shares a parking lot with the hotel and was insanely good. Our room was quiet and we had no dealings with the infamous manager of the other reviews, thank goodness. I am assuming by the signs posted at the front desk, she takes pride in her prickly reputation.

Yelp
My mother and I have both stayed here several times over the years and things have definitely gotten bad. This used to be my favorite spot to stay but we will not becoming back any more. Upon arrival you will be wowed by the loft, how neat right? Well, this past time we stayed in room 225 and the bath tub was broken and the knobs to the shower were also broken. We were woken up by room service at 9:17 walking straight into our room with out EVEN KNOCKING, because we "were on a check out list" what?!? And "our blinds were raised a few inches" what the what? We drove in at 2 am, with a nine months old and a 7 years old, who got woken up and super cranky. Management handled it horribly. We got an apology. If you looking for a nice place to stay check out the maison dupuy or Bienville house. You will get what you pay for.*** Edited Updated review. We decided to come back and stay once more due to fact that everything else was sold out for Mardi Gras. We got room 129. Management is still horrible. We got charged for parking and we we not told about it untill check out, even though they advertise as free parking. They still knocked at 9 AGAIN to wake you up.

Marcie L.

Yelp
I do not recommend this place at all. The walls are so thin. You can hear everyone's conversation from your room. It woke me up all night. The breakfast is not good. The bread tasted bad. They have packet grits & oatmeal. Not worth it. Also, the room keepers would come banging on the door then walk right in. They never waited for a response or anything. I could hear every door they banged on. The location is convenient, which is the only perk about this place.

Bianca P.

Yelp
Cute hotel room that did the job. The location is outstanding and parking included security without an added price for the stay. Literally a five minute walk to the streetcar stop and other great restaurants in the area. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The only reason I'm not giving it all five stars is because the tub and carpets had obvious stains from years of wear and tear, compelling my family to buy and wear shower shoes for our stay.

Yelp
I liked the Prytania Park Hotel - it's so different than any other hotel I've stayed in. - For starters, there's bamboo shooting upwards throughout the balcony gaps in the hotel. - The narrow spiral staircase leading upwards is like a comical sobriety test late at night. - The proximity to early a.m. coffee (around the corner) and the streetcar line is great. - The haunting charm of NOLA is evident throughout. - The location is calmer but also close to a lot. You can easily walk to fun bars or cab to the other districts with ease. So all in all, a fun spot and I'd stay here again. Definitely a localized boutique hotel, so don't expect a red carpet roll out!

Yelp
Very affordable, free parking, breakfast and WIFI. The room was clean and comfortable. ... That said, some people may not appreciate the layout: loft-style 2nd bedroom with VERY narrow winding spiral stairs that I would not feel comfortable with if I had small/hyper children or if I had any physical disability. For our needs, it was sufficient, however. It's a small establishment, lots of character, not a lot of frills, (but I am not looking for 5-star frills at 100.00 per-night rate). A nice addition is the fridge and microwave in the room. The location is pretty much perfect for nightlife and daytime shopping, sightseeing, etc. I would not hesitate to come back if was in this area again.

Yelp
I didn't have the best experience but it wasn't the worst. I recall the front desk person to be nice. Room was average but not terrible. Not sure if I'd stay there again because I'm a huge fan of Airbnb.
google avatar

Jennifer P.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel. Even though it's an older hotel it was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered more than a normal continental breakfast and it was close to everything when traveling with UBer.
google avatar

Candice M.

Yelp
If you are looking for a nice, clean hotel don't come here. The staff were friendly however this place needs major renovation. I will attach pictures. I felt like I was showering in a dorm bathroom. Dust everywhere. I felt like I couldn't go bare footed on the carpet it was filthy. The pros are they provide free self parking in a lot and they were generous with towels but I would not stay here again. If I had not been staying with a group I would have left immediately.

Yelp
After spending forever looking for a room I finally found this place and it seemed decent so I booked it. Then I read the Yelp reviews and got nervous. Too many Yelpers have had run in with the manager and I find that (still) worrisome. However, my stay was uneventful in the best way possible and the price was great! Check in and check out were super easy and the staff was welcoming. The room had exposed brick wall, high ceilings, a ceiling fan, large, bright window into the courtyard, tv, microwave, free wifi that worked just fine, and a bathroom with new fixtures. The room was clean and cozy with a large and super comfy bed. My own gripe was that the only place in which I could plug in my phone was at the microwave where there was a power strip. There is a breakfast buffet in the courtyard which I suppose in cold weather wouldn't be much fun but given the layout, I don't see where else they would put it. Regardless, I was happy for some breakfast and hot coffee. I cannot complain about the noise. When I was in the bathroom I could easily hear my neighbors but once I went into the sleeping area I couldn't hear anyone. The building is old so of course it creeks and you can hear people walking around above your head. Big deal! You want to the Ritz, go stay there but I was happy in this historic building. I liked that I could walk right out of my room and find a bench and table in a quiet area in which to relax. The hotel is right near Walgreens and the trolly and it is in a nice, quiet area. I loved walking around the French Quarter all day and I was just as happy to come home to a quiet, cozy spot the sleep. I'm tempted to stay here again.

Yelp
This place is great. We got a greast price with a decent room. Staff have been friendly and this place has easy access to St Charles Streetcar. I came with a friend and had to have two separate beds. The room has one bed when you first enter and then a loft with a normal height ceiling. This worked out great giving my friend and privacy when needed.

Marielle S.

Yelp
This hotel is one of the best kept secrets in the Garden District. Prytania Park is in a perfect location- within walking distance of a lot of cool bars and restaurants. It's in a safe area, check in is easy, there's a nice big lot so you don't have to park on the street, downtown NOLA is just an Uber away and the rates are pretty reasonable. With my experience here the rooms have always been clean and everything has been well looked after. The rooms on the actual inside of the building are quiet and safe and far enough away from the street that I don't have to worry about noisy foot traffic. The tvs are small, so if you plan on watching a lot of tv (for some reason), be aware of that.
google avatar

Eileen K.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stay here! For the lower price, being a little further off from where we mostly hung out (French Quarter, Bourbon Square) was fine. This little hotel met all our needs! The streetcar stop is just a block away, and cabs are easy to call by calling the front desk 10-15 min in advance. Our room was a quaint, cute antique-y loft, with a brightly lit and clean interior, cream yellow walls, spacious bathroom and counter space, microwave, and, my favoritest part of all: spiral staircase! with another queen on the top loft. It was perfect for 4 girls ! Oh, and a tv. The front desk was very attentive and nice. And the breakfast they had (cereals, oatmeal, pastries, juice, milk, coffee) was simple and got the job done when we had to hurriedly catch our cab for our meetings. I would stay here again :) It was nice being away from the hustle and bustle of French Quarter area for parts of the time.
google avatar

Haley G.

Yelp
I have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. The location is great restaurants are close. A quick street car or lyft ride into the quarter. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We had to leave early due to a family emergency and they were helpful. No this is not a fancy five start hotel but I found it charming. Will stay again for sure.
google avatar

Thomas W.

Yelp
This use to be a great property, but has seen better days. The staff was extremely accommodating when we notified them that the room smelled of mold and they put us in a room over at the Prytania Oaks. Unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations so we canceled the reservation and booked at a larger, well known hotel.
google avatar

Kathleen B.

Yelp
Love this hotel and say here every time we're in New Orleans. It's far enough away from the Quarter to be quiet at night but close enough to go there without having to drive. Close to the St. Charles streetcar line and just a short ride to several points of interest. Yes it's an older hotel and it's not super fancy, but it's reasonably priced, not full of a bunch of drunks, and quiet at night. ...did I mention it's quiet at night? I like my sleep.
google avatar

CJ H.

Yelp
Great boutique hotel! The location is absolutely perfect. The area surrounding the hotel is very quiet. Plenty of secure, free parking is available. Street car access down the street, and very convenient for Lyft, and Uber. French quarter is about 1 mile away. The staff at the front desk were very friendly. Check in was a breeze. I got a contemporary queen room. The room was large, very nice, and the bed was super comfy! Continental breakfast is available from 7-9am each day. Those who are early risers will find this a great perk. My only complaint was that the bathroom area was showing lots of wear and needs some attention. Although I think this was a very minor flaw, and didn't effect me in any way. Overall, a excellent find. Kudos to Prytania Park Hotel for a excellent stay!

Nina M.

Yelp
General Manager is a piece of work. She runs the entire show. Front desk have to ask permission for everything and are embarrassed to have to deliver her generous offers. Like 15% off for spending three of four nights with no info. Spoke personally to her on the phone and she went up to 25 whopping percent then dismissed me, like I worked for her. Stay here if you are a gambler and want to take the chance nothing goes wrong. But know this, if it does Dori the Manager is going to talk to you like you are stupid, insult you, say you are lying, not take ownership, turn it into your fault, and ask you why you are bothering her. After all, the air conditioning worked during the day! Unbelievable bad customer service. You deserve better pick another place. Dori, find a job you're good at.
google avatar

Gabbin K.

Yelp
This place is a joke. DO NOT GO HERE!!! This should be a 1 star hotel. The bathroom was dirty, the room smelled of mold, our room was not cleaned, and the staff was rude. There are many hotels in New Orleans that offer a better price, a cleaner room, and all with a smile. The Prytania Park Hotel is like an old Motel 6 that had new televisions put in, sprayed some cleaner, and changed the name. I think that the owner pays people to write a good review, because I can't imagine anyone liking this place. If you want to overpay for a crappy experience (payed 125 a night with fees and taxes), then stay here. I think you will possibly leave with a mold respiratory illness in your lungs. BEWARE!!!!!

Kristin B.

Yelp
Warning: Property Manager Dori becomes completely unhinged at any concerns or comments she may deem as 'critical' of the hotel. Read the bad reviews to see her diatribes against customers with valid concerns. Her responses are inaccurate lies based in fantasy, and they are downright creepy. Leave a 'bad' review and see what I mean. It's comically bizarre and can't be good for business. It's not that hard to write a professional responses to valid customer concerns. While the free parking is nice, there is better value and professionalism at other hotels and bnbs in the area. I do not recommend. I'm sure she will leave some lunatic response to this...which just furthers my point.
google avatar

Bre W.

Yelp
Sadly our room was pretty small, but the character of it, and the whole hotel, was amazing. Hard wood floors. High ceilings. True "old" New Orleans architecture. If in New Orleans for a vacay or from here and need some place, I highly recommend coming here! You'd be glad you did.
google avatar

Chelsey G.

Yelp
If i could give zero stars I would. We drove down from Missouri for a cruise leacing out of New Orleans ans we were promised that we could park here for the duration of the cruise. We also booked rooms for the weekend after our cruise and upon arrival were told that since the hotel was booked through a third party (orbitz) that it wasn't their policy to leave our vehicle for the duration of our cruise. The reasons we booked this particular hotel was because of their park and cruise policy. Needless to say, we checked out of our room and to go to a different hotel that guaranteed our stay and parking. Upon, checking out we were told we wouldn't be refunded because they have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Their customer service is terrible and I would not recommend booking this hotel for your stay in New Orleans. They did not seem to care at all about trying to make things right.
google avatar

Chelsea A.

Yelp
My husband and I reserved a room at the Prytania Park so we could enjoy a kid-free night during trip to see his family in Louisiana over the Thanksgiving holiday. Unfortunately, he and I got either a nasty stomach bug or food poisoning on the drive south from Kansas. We didn't feel like going through with our outing to New Orleans and attempted to cancel the reservation the day prior to check in. We knew the hotel's policy stated that cancellations had to be made 48 hours prior to check in, but we thought the hotel management would make an exception or change a lesser penalty given our unforeseen circumstances. Turns out we were wrong. The hotel's manager, Dorie, subjected us to a very personal, very lengthy line of questioning regarding our illnesses and then attempted to diagnose our conditions over the phone. She felt that since food poisoning or stomach bugs usually last about 24 hours, we should feel like coming to New Orleans. Further, she said since it might be food poisoning and therefore not contagious, she wasn't concerned about the welfare of her staff or other guests in the hotel. In a nutshell, she accused us of lying and refused to cancel the reservation without "medical documentation." Dorie did offer us a larger room on another night, but that didn't fit with our family obligations or travel plans. Yes, this hotel is located in a great area and it's rates are comparatively inexpensive. However, the hotel's staff doesn't display the grace or gentility that makes the people of New Orleans such wonderful hosts to visitors. According to the New Orleans Convention and Visitor's Bureau, there are more than 37,000 hotel rooms in the metro area. I would suggest selecting another property to ensure you have an experience that's more fitting with the city's legendary hospitality.

Yelp
I just read more customer's reviews on the Pytania Park Hotel TripAdvisor.com account. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g60864-d89119-Reviews-Prytania_Park-New_Orleans_Louisiana.html#REVIEWS. It is pretty sad and hilarious. The owner/manager keeps arguing with all of the clients' after they review. She insinuates that they are liars or that they didn't actually have a terrible experience. Why would someone take the time to write a bad review if they weren't disgusted by their stay? This place is a joke. A very very dirty, moldy, expensive joke!
google avatar

Nils K.

Yelp
You can't go wrong here, so long as you like smaller boutique hotels. This is NOT a Hilton or Marriott. The hotel is old, with old trees and vines interspersed between the walkways. The rooms are well kept up, though the tile and bathrooms are a little dated. Breakfast is coffee and yogurt and a toaster for the English muffin. The lobby is small. The staff are friendly and happy. Parking is safe and free. When we stay we usually have kids with us, so we get the room with the loft. Kids go upstairs to their bed, we stay downstairs in ours. Extremely convenient for all of us.

Yelp
I picked this hotel based on its proximity to everywhere I wanted to be. I really didn't want to be too close to Bourbon Street, as I heard that it was pretty much a non-stop party. I booked the hotel online after reading a few reviews. It wasn't luxurious, but it would be fine. We arrived at the hotel early. Super early. I was worried that we'd have to lug our bags around NOLA while waiting for check in. Bummer. Well, the very helpful gentleman at the front desk told us that our room was ready and that we could check in right then! Great! We were given keys to the room and directed to it. Now, the way this hotel is set up, you're outside, but then you're not outside. It's a weird setup. You're certainly not in a hallway if you step out of your room. But it's cool. The room was small, but cute. I mean, who needs a huge hotel room? We didn't plan to spend that much time in there anyway. I will say that the bathroom could have been a teensy bit bigger. Just a smidge wouldn't have hurt. Here's where I'm feeling like a 4 star place went to 3 stars -- the bed. We were supposed to be in a queen sized bed. By the looks of it, this was not a queen sized bed. So, before we got too comfy, I went to the front desk to inquire about it. I was told that the ceilings were very high and that's why it looked small. Ok. I can dig that. Fast forward to later that night when boyfriend and I go to crash. This. was. NOT. a. queen-sized. bed. No way. It was soft and comfortable. But it was certainly a full. I have had a full and I have had a queen. I'm sure this was not a queen. That sort of ticked me off. I thought I was crazy until I happened to be talking to another couple on the street car and they were telling us they stayed at our hotel and they thought that the beds were small. So my feelings were confirmed. Oh well. I love my boyfriend. This just caused me to be closer to him. The great thing about these rooms is that you have a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Super convenient! This hotel is in the Garden District, where there are many beautiful houses to look at and nice walks to take. If you're not trying to hear a bunch of foolishness, then you should look into staying here. I'd recommend this place. The only thing I didn't like was the bed situation, but now that I know, the next time, I'd just opt for a king. Other than that, its close to the street car and super close to several very good restaurants and cute little hangouts.

Yelp
Please don't take your family to this hotel. By far it looks gorgeous and charming on line, however up close and personal is far different. The bathroom was dirty beyond comprehension. Dust so thick on the doors it would come off with a finger rub. The staff was cold and certainly not friendly. Light bulbs out in lamps. The room smelled musty and moldy. The staff dropped off towels and never returned to clean the room. The complimentary breakfast left so much to be desired. They would not credit us our room, but we left early nonetheless and cut our losses. Went to a far better hotel in the are and enjoyed a most wonderful stay. The area of Prytania Hotel is not too favorable either. A bit dangerous. I never have ever done an unfavorable review BUT I could not let anyone make this same mistake I have. The facility needs a major renovation to say the least.

Yelp
We loved this cute older hotel, it has charm & personality to spare. The property consists of four wings, all converted buildings of varying vintages (the oldest being nearly two centuries old) connected by some charming little patios & breezeways. As a result, there's no "standard" room, they are all a little different. They are also kind of small, but who spends a ton of time in the room anyway? Not the most up-to-date amenities -- the older rooms don't have a mini-fridge, but the loft rooms do. Still, a decent bed & a clean bathroom are about all I really require. The very best thing is the LOCATION. Steps to the St. Charles trolley, which will take you straight to Bourbon Street or connect you to the Canal line. They also have a continental breakfast (which wasn't a big deal -- coffee & danish & bagels) and free parking (which was, in fact, a supremely big deal. Most hotels in the area charge you a pretty hefty fee for parking, if it's even available.) The staff was also quite nice to us & helpful when my sister had to call them to sort out a credit-card mixup. If you prefer a cookie-cutter corporate standard property, this isn't the place for you. We loved it, though, and would be happy to stay again.

Yelp
whilst the outside set-up of the hotel was interesting, our loft room left us feeling uncomfortable with climbing stairs to go to bed. they could have notified us previously but we made do. pretty good location as well. also there were a few lights that never came on with the flick of the switch, especially in the enclosed shower.

Yelp
This is a very small independent hotel in the Garden District, near the St. Charles street car. The hotel looks like an old converted mansion with an older portion and a newer portion. We stayed in the old part of the hotel. This is not your average large chain hotel, so please keep that in mind when you choose this as your vacation lodging. You will not get room service, you will not get wireless in your room, you won't get a huge bathroom. What you will get is a clean and nice room with the necessities: a bed, clean sheets, a desk, a flat screen TV with satellite, very friendly and helpful staff, and a nice continental breakfast in the mornings. I do suggest you take your breakfast in one of the courtyards the property has to offer and start your day on a relaxing note. The property is close to the St. Charles street car, close to a few good restaurants, and located in the beautiful Garden District. If you want to shop Magazine street, take the street car or a cab to the 6000 block and then walk down. It's a long walk, but worth it!

Yelp
This hotel really is a fantastic deal. We booked online through their website last minute and the price was very reasonable. They also have free parking. We booked just a standard double and although the room was fairly 'cosy' we were welcomed with a lovely fresh lemony scent, the sheets and towels were clean and soft, the bed comfy and the room itself was immaculate. It is a few seconds walk from the 'trolley' (tram) which runs all the way up into town for just over $1 per person. The hotel staff were very helpful with directions and places of interest. They have free internet in the lobby and wifi in the rooms. We plan to return to New Orleans and would definitely choose to stay here again.

Yelp
Just checked out of this hotel after staying a week. Could not have hoped for a better location. One block from the street car. Magazine, Garden District and French Quarter all easily accessible by street car, bus, or even by walking if you want. Some nights we ended up staying in the neighborhood as there are some great little spots a block away. Rooms were clean and quiet, no problem with noise, wi-fi worked, depending on your location in the hotel there were two wifi locations to jump between to get best hook up. Beds were super comfortable. We stayed in two different rooms (our choice, decided to upgrade and better room wasn't available until a few nights into our stay). Bottom line, great location, nice hotel, great price! Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
We could not be happier after our stay with Prytania Park Hotel. I'll admit, I was a bit nervous after seeing some of the mixed reviews. We were quickly put at ease prior to our stay, thanks largely to a quick email correspondence with the general manager, Dori Schulman. We had a few specific questions, all of which were answered in detail. Finding the hotel (even for two people who get nervous when traveling in unfamiliar areas) was easy. Free parking - HUGE bonus in this area, by the way - was in the lot in 'front' of the hotel. Easily manageable, easy access. Excellent. Front desk staff (WHY can't I remember her name? I hope someone will comment and remind me - our stay was on 5 October, and we checked in approximately 4:30pm) was EXCELLENT. Friendly, knowledgeable, excited at being involved in the big secret my best friend and I were keeping from our daughters (the reason for our NOLA visit: the Taylor Swift concert - one of their favorite artists!). She was ready to answer any and all questions, had plenty of information to give us, and was extremely patient with our (seemingly airheaded, at times, since we were tired and excited and looking forward to surprising our daughters) chatter. The hotel itself was charmingly beautiful. After chatting with the staff member at the front desk, we made our way to our carefully-chosen room. Our particular room was chosen for the "loft" area, which held the second queen bed ... and was accessed by a quaint spiral staircase. The room was the first surprise for our daughters, who squealed with delight and immediately climbed the stairs to their portion of the room. I'd read that the bathrooms were small, so I was a bit nervous, seeing as we had four females getting ready to go out for the night. We decided to let our daughters wear crazy (one blue, one turquoise :D) wigs and fun makeup (darker than usual), sparkly shirts, and whatever else they wanted to do. All they knew was that we were in New Orleans ... so they were game to dressing up and being silly. My nervousness was unfounded, though. Although the shower/toilet room is JUST large enough for the shower and toilet, there was PLENTY of counter space in the vanity area! This is important, because you know us girls like to spread our hair/makeup products all over the place while we decide what to do! By the way: there was also a mini fridge and decent-size microwave (not the kind that just pops a bag of popcorn - this one would equate to the counter-size m/w I use at home!). Also important! We had requested a cab be called for us at a particular time, and it was. We'd requested waters and snacks be placed on our hotel bill (it was), and the clerk continued to talk with us while we waited for the taxi and had a quick snack (lunch had been at noon, and we knew dinner wouldn't be til sometime after 9pm). She continued to hold onto our secret, and help build the girls' excitement. Side note: hotel staff should not assume that out-of-towners know how public transport works. We assumed the trolley near the hotel would go directly to the French Quarter, where we'd be going later that night ... we did NOT realize we'd have to take THREE trolleys to get where we wanted to go! While she was sweet about telling us how inexpensive the rides were, and how the money machine works (doesn't give change), and how they become less frequent as the night gets late ... she didn't mention we'd need to switch trolleys ... or that we'd have to know whether to take the red or green line at each interval. We returned to our room a little after 1 a.m., exhausted but happy (phenomenal concert ... deliciously delightful beignets and hot chocolate at Cafe du Monde ... beautiful night!) and were greeted by a cool room, sigh-worthy-comfortable beds, and soft lighting (we'd left a lamp on, and it had a low-light setting). Let me say, the beds were TRULY dreamable. Firm, but with a pillow-top layer. So, soft to the touch, but great for my aching back (4 hours of driving, 4 of concert, 2 of taxis and walking). Water pressure was fine for us. Again, the vanity space was wonderful as we all crowded around to brush our teeth and hair, apply a little makeup, and tame our hair. Breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, milk, cereal, cheese/fruit danish, and croissants (with various butters and jelly packets). Simple, which was exactly what we needed before we headed out to walk around the French Quarter for a while (again, not understanding the trolley system, since we'd taken a cab the night before). I cannot think of a single thing I would change about the Prytania Park Hotel. We plan to eventually get back to NOLA for some more sightseeing, and will DEFINITELY stay here again! Thank you, Prytania Park Hotel - we're definitely FANS!!

Yelp
I was there last Labor Day weekend and I enjoyed my stay, but the architecture was a little weird, but hey that's New Orleans! My room was very comfortable and very close to the trolly line! I'm going back again!

Yelp
What a hidden gem in the rough! I found this place online and took a shot in the dark booking a room for my roommate on Halloween. I was totally shocked by them having rooms so cheap on that night given with Voodoo fest and all. +1 - they have their own FREE parking lot! +1 - 2 queen beds in a loft room $113! +1 - free community coffee in the room! +1 - continental breakfast included (ends at 9 and c/o is 11, we opted to sleep in) +1 - super helpful staff +1 - super close to EVERYTHING! If you don't care about the newest amenities (tv, clock/radio) or need certain toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste), this is the place for you. It's quiet, clean and reasonable. If you want something with character and personality, don't miss this place.

Yelp
This place rocks. It's totally convenient free parking etc. Easy uber to bourbon st. Easy to city park. Nice little hotel with a new Orleans taste. Bathroom is small? So what. You stl get a decent room. Breakfast had packet grits? Lol you poor slob so what. You still get waffles cereal and coffee etc. The only thing management needs to do before we come back. All the carpet must go. Nobody keeps carpets anymore. Id rather walk on the old wood planks than this carpet. Other than that for the money you are paying It's a decent call. This isn't a 200$ a night room don't expect it to be.

Yelp
This is a quaint hotel. Great value for the money. Good service, clean rooms, quiet.

Yelp
We stayed in the master suite, it was the perfect size for 5 people. There was some mysterious noises at 5am for an hour or so, which was annoying, but other than that its a quiet adorable hotel. I also like that there is a private parking lot, it's more safe than parking on the street. The staff are nice as well, even though it was time for us to checkout they allowed my car to stay in the parking lot until I returned from brunch. I would definitely stay again!

Yelp
Cute hotel, very comfy. I liked how it was outside and it really gave you the "new orleans" vibe. We got a room with one king sized bed. It was kinda small, but the staff was very friendly. We came back at 2am and realized we didnt have any clean towels. They had clean towels brought to our room in 5 min. On yhe other hand, parts of it was slightly out dated. And towels were scratchy.

Yelp
Great location, great rates and nice free breakfast ! The girl and I stayed here recently and we really enjoyed every bit of it. My only compliant was that we had no control of the ac in our room. I'm very sensitive to temperature changes and can get really bad sinus headaches from ac and when it's so humid outside and then you sleep with the ac on all night, It spells disaster for my poor head ! I read about somebody else having a "haunting" experience and all I have to say is,,, microwave ghost. We had to unplug the microwave because of a friendly visitor who must have thought it was best to communicate through the beep sounds. We never used the microwave for anything but somebody we could not see sure did ! I would stay here again in a minute :)

Yelp
******Our ship DIDN'T get moved to mobile like she is stating it ported out of New Orleans and no one was bused from anywhere.****Our ship was Glory and the Departure date was 07/14/2019 if anyone wants to call Carnival and look it up. My son also didn't have popcorn and for anyone the has curly hair you know you don't brush it or it would be a frizz ball. I would love for the audible and video to be posted! I can't believe all the false statements she is making. Yes we did take the towels and lay them on top of the bed because we were wondering if we could do it for one night but after everything we saw we couldn't. I didn't take a shower!! We didn't want to touch anything with our clothes. We did stay at another hotel in New Orleans that was clean and wanted us there. Our ship was leaving out of the New Orleans port so why would we have canceled besides the hotel was disgusting.Ask yourself why would someone spend money at one hotel and move less then 2 miles to other after they already run your card. *******What she posted for our reason to get a refund:******* Sum and Substance: This guest is pissed off as they realized 2 hours after checking in and using the room, that the advise and offer I gave them 48 hours prior to arrival, and again 24 hours prior to arrival, that they should have followed suit as did the other 8 rooms of their family members did. Our Offer was Free Cancellation due to TS Barry. Her family was gathering to leave on a cruise, which was Port Moved to Mobile Alabama. As well as, most all businesses, restaurants, transportation services (streetcars/taxis/Uber/Lyft) were closed and/or not operational that weekend due to the potential of flooding. Our Port had been closed, and Carnival moved the ship to Mobile, Alabama. Her entire family group, most who were driving into New Orleans, took us up on the offer so they wouldn't have to be bussed to Mobile She said she pre paid for a parking space near the Cruise terminal and that she was not going to pay for an unused spot. *****You can see her full response back on TripAdvisor which doesn't let you respond back! ***

Yelp
I was skeptical at first because I'm a chain hotel type, who enjoys the views and world class serve... and when I saw the pictures of Prytania Park Hotel, I wasn't too impressed. However, when I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the room was (although the bathroom was small and the single beds were just a bit too small for me), I had everything I needed, including a nice flat screen TV, courteous staff and a nice continental breakfast spread every morning. With the beautiful weather we had the last week or so, the court yard was quite amazing to sit, socialize and enjoy good breakfast. I also loved the parking lot. It was ample and well lit and around here, parking is premium. Some things that that caused me not to provide 5 stars: 1. There were drunk folks running up and down the stairs in the middle of the night, which was very disruptive. I realize the court yard is wide open, but these people were rowdy and perhaps the hotel management could have handled it better. 2. Bathroom was too small. 3. I wish there was more closet space. 4, Footsteps above me were loud at times, but not that bad. That's about it. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone making a visit to the Garden District!

Yelp
Location, location, location. The rooms are fine, the staff could be iffy at times, but for the Prytania Park, it's all about location. I lived Uptown for years, so I'm used to trekking to parades and relying on porta potties. The thinner crowds and the ability to walk half a block back to refill drinks, add or subtract layers of clothes and use the bathroom mean the Prytania Park is the perfect hotel for Mardi Gras. We stayed in a loft room, meant for up to four people. The only complaint I have is that we only had three people in our room and it felt cramped. If I was at the wardrobe, no one could get to the bathroom or out the door. It was fine when we were all stationary, but meant we constantly felt like we were in each other's way when we were getting ready and trying to leave the room. Two of us were downstairs, but there wasn't really a place for two suitcases. Mine was in the wardrobe, but his was in the small space between the bed and the window, meaning he had to step over it at all times. The staircase up to the loft is small and spiral - those who don't like heights, have vertigo or aren't so steady would not be able to use it comfortably. I'd worry about someone very inebriated, as well. The rest of our party left on Fat Tuesday, but we were staying two more nights. A few months before MG I called and asked if we could move to a single room, as we really did not want to pay the (understandably) high price for a double room when we were no longer sharing it (and the cost). Whomever answered the phone told me that was impossible - on Fat Tuesday they did not have their cleaning staff come in at all, so we would not be able to move to a clean room. They do not turn over the rooms on Fat Tuesday at all. One of our party had a single and I asked to move to their room and asked for some clean pillowcases and towels and was told no. I even suggested they let us stay in the double for the single price, since they weren't turning the room over at all and they'd at least get some money for it. Still no. Of course, as we're checking out Fat Tuesday a.m. and moving to another hotel, the front desk was kind of indignant that we were leaving and they insisted they would have turned a room for us. When I recounted the above story, they wanted to know who I'd spoken to. When I pointed out it had happened months ago I was snottily told "Well if you could tell me who told you that, it would be better." I mean, I appreciate that they were upset at improper information being handed out and the loss of money, but it certainly wasn't my fault and I was a bit put off by the reaction we received. I had no reason to make up such information, but they acted as though I was lying and at fault. All that taken into account, it was still a great experience. It was so nice to walk 20 steps in the morning, put out our chairs and be able to go back and have breakfast. The closeness of our fridge, clothes (considering it rained a bit every day) and bathroom could not be beat. The price was totally reasonable to be split by two couples for that week. Other than that final encounter, the staff was nice. The place was always clean and there was security to ensure only guests were entering the grounds. I would go again and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay for MG.

Yelp
We just returned from a weekend visit to New Orleans where we stayed at Prytania Park. Great location one block off St. Charles and the trolley line. Five minute trolley ride to Canal Street which gets you one block from Bourbon Street. A hop to Magazine Street for a day of great shopping. The room was clean and fresh. But the bathroom and fixtures desperately need updating. Peeling wallpaper, some small holes in the tiles and walls. The rooms have been updated with flat screen TVs and some furniture. Great location! Great price! We'll stay here again!
