Ah, okay so this is no longer Pub Fiction and that breaks my heart. Some context for readers: this was the first restaurant my boyfriend and I ever came to and it held a special place for us. We came back to Pub Fiction quite a few times for being out-of-towners. The Dirty Burger was everything you could ask for in a burger. It was simply delicious. We ordered it every time. It was our thing.
Fast forward to this past weekend. It is no longer Pub Fiction (same owner, but new partners?!)... it is some BBQ place called The Forge. Don't get me wrong, I love a good BBQ, but honestly, why would you change a GOOD THING? It was a great thing, actually. I guess they didn't want to be doing "the same thing everyone else was doing". Dude... I drove from out of town to eat at your restaurant. After experiencing it as the BBQ place, I won't be coming back.
And that's not just because of what I wrote above. Here's the honest review of the Forge:
- Service was poor. We waited almost 10 minutes for a server to come to our table (it was not busy)
- When we finally ordered our drinks, we waited another several minutes (bartenders were standing around and chatting, not busy, server looked scattered and sadly wasn't doing a good job) side note: I've been there as a new server. It sucks. Ask. For. Help.
- We ordered a burger. We were told they sold out of the burger... *sigh*
- We ordered ribs and pulled pork. Mediocre at best. My pulled pork was cold, and the ribs were nothing to write home about.
That's all I guess. If you love BBQ, I've been to better places and I'd honestly rather have a BBQ with some friends. If you've been to Pub Fiction, well I'm sad to say it no longer exists. RIP to a good thing.
