The pubs best attribute is definitely it's balcony style, elevated beer garden. I have spent quite a lot of time there over summer, and have found it to be the perfect place to have a beer in the sun and look out over London Fields. This is not to say that the view from the beer garden is any less beautiful in other seasons, in fact, autumn is a delightful time to rug up and look out over the leafy fields.
The interior of the pub is rather nice. There is a real English pub feel and there is definitely a quirkiness that I like about the place. Live sports are shown, such as rugby and football, but there apart from when there is a game on, the pub does not feel like it is dominated by sport. I think this is a good thing as it appeals to different types of clientele, not just sports fans.
There is quite a good selection of beers and a great group of non-uniformed friendly characters behind the bar. The food menu is quite tradition but it is not the place to go if you want a nice meal. An example of the main courses on offer is 'Ham, eggs and chips'
All in all, The 'Pub on the park', even for the sole reason of it's beer garden, is a great place to go for a drink, preferably in good weather.
