The 23 Best Restaurants In Amsterdam 2024

"If you’re on the Noord side of the river and want something a little more pensive than the massive joints the rest of the public frequents by the ferry stops, head to Public Space. There are pastries in the morning, milk bread sandwiches midday, and seasonal spring peas with chermoula for a light dinner. Drink specialty coffee from Brooklyn, craft beers from Sweden, and wines with labels that don’t take themselves too seriously. With laptops only welcome til noon—tempting as the long wooden tables are for deep work sessions—the space will feel private enough no matter what time you pop by. " - paolo espanola

Google
Very trendy, relaxing restaurant with a great vibe. The food was great although the menu limited and no gluten free options. My husband had the burger and loved it. The salad and potatoes were very well made and super tasty. Well worth the ferry over for a visit

This stop was nothing short of phenomenal! We were told of this place by a previous traveler and her review. I could not come within 100 miles of here and not make my way. The food, fresh.. the wine and juice is atypical and brilliant. You must go and try homemade rolls, chicken sandwich and cod filet (see photos). With this, the vibe .. the ambiance was modern and authentic hip; aesthetically pleasing with a clean Scandinavian design The staff, personable, well mannered and clean!

Amazing coffee! Loved coming here for the coffee and the decor is so cool + minimalist and contemporary. Tried to order the fried chicken sandwich, but they were out of bread by lunch. I think this is not cool - if this is your most popular dish make sure to have enough bread (whether you make it in house or not, it does not matter) . I was told to wait 2-3 hours for them to bake the bread.

Google
Most delicious meal in amsterdam. Would 110% recommend. Flatbreads were phenomenal, as were the gambas with green chilli and asparagus with cured egg yolk. Service was great.

What a fantastic gem so close to the central station. The diverse kitchen team created some of the most creative flavor combinations I had a while. With a menu that changes every two weeks you can bet your horses that I'll be stopping by soon again. Big plus is that my dog was also welcome

Got the filter coffee, it was way too diluted. Food was nice, the mushroom toast was a pleasant surprise and felt like a piece of art, and we loved the crunchy kale and brown butter. a bit oily though and portions aren’t big... LOVED the interior it’s a beautiful place.

Google
Excellent coffee and delicious food made with care and presented beautifully. Gluten-free food options, including Basque cheesecake. Lovely space to chill in. Kind and friendly staff. Not much more you could want! Resident dogs were a bonus.

Google
Docked a star because the food isn’t as good as it used to be. There’s been a change of chefs and though the food is delicious, the portions are ridiculous. You’ll feed your mouth but not your belly. The menu is seasonal and constantly changes, but so far, all the food portions are like tapas and not regular meals. The service is great. The layout is great. The coffee is also great. However, the cinnamon rolls aren’t consistent - some days you’ll get the most sticky cinnamoney dream, some days you’ll get bread with hints of cinnamon. Asked for it warmed up to bring out a wee bit more cinnamoness.

Yelp
We arrived for lunch on a Saturday before visiting the Eye Film museum. I had been eyeing (hehe) Public Space's instagram and menu for a while, and the space did not disappoint. The interior transported us; it's tasteful, contemporary, yet comfortable and inviting. We immediately felt peaceful. The people who greeted us were both laid back and attentive. The chefs behind the pass were cheerful and I really liked the whole vibe. We ordered the bone marrow, kohlrabi, and pumpkin dishes. The plating and presentation for each dish was creative. Each dish's sauces were so good, we could have licked the plates. They were generous with tap water (which can be rare in the Netherlands) and were laid back about us chilling on the couch after our meal, even gave us a carafe of water to make sure we didn't run out. My friend got a white chocolate chip cookie as we walked out and it was as delicious as the meal. Do not miss coming here if you're in Noord!

Yelp
Simply amazing food and espresso in a modern yet comfy setting. Worth a quick ferry ride from Centraal just for this place! Try the hot pudding, it will warm you up on a rainy Dutch day. The modern interior architecture is a nice chill contrast to the traditional old world spaces in the city center. Highly recommend.

Yelp
An absolutely incredible space with even better coffee, food, and service. A must-visit while you are in Amsterdam!
